Sūrah 96
al-ʿAlaq
The Clot · 19 verses
Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥeem
- 1Recite in the name of your Lord who createdٱقۡرَأۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ
- 2Created man from a clinging substanceخَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِنۡ عَلَقٍ
- 3Recite, and your Lord is the most Generousٱقۡرَأۡ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلۡأَكۡرَمُ
- 4Who taught by the penٱلَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِٱلۡقَلَمِ
- 5Taught man that which he knew notعَلَّمَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مَا لَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡ
- 6No! [But] indeed, man transgressesكَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَيَطۡغَىٰٓ
- 7Because he sees himself self-sufficientأَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰٓ
- 8Indeed, to your Lord is the returnإِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجۡعَىٰٓ
- 9Have you seen the one who forbidsأَرَءَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِي يَنۡهَىٰ
- 10A servant when he praysعَبۡدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ
- 11Have you seen if he is upon guidanceأَرَءَيۡتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلۡهُدَىٰٓ
- 12Or enjoins righteousnessأَوۡ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقۡوَىٰٓ
- 13Have you seen if he denies and turns awayأَرَءَيۡتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ
- 14Does he not know that Allāh seesأَلَمۡ يَعۡلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ
- 15No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelockكَلَّا لَئِن لَّمۡ يَنتَهِ لَنَسۡفَعَۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ
- 16A lying, sinning forelockنَاصِيَةٖ كَٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٖ
- 17Then let him call his associatesفَلۡيَدۡعُ نَادِيَهُۥ
- 18We will call the angels of Hellسَنَدۡعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ
- 19No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allāh]كَلَّا لَا تُطِعۡهُ وَٱسۡجُدۡۤ وَٱقۡتَرِب۩
