Sūrah 87
al-Aʿlā
The Most High · 19 verses
Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥeem
- 1Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Highسَبِّحِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡأَعۡلَى
- 2Who created and proportionedٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
- 3And who destined and [then] guidedوَٱلَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ
- 4And who brings out the pastureوَٱلَّذِيٓ أَخۡرَجَ ٱلۡمَرۡعَىٰ
- 5And [then] makes it black stubbleفَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحۡوَىٰ
- 6We will make you recite, [O Muḥammad], and you will not forgetسَنُقۡرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ
- 7Except what Allāh should will. Indeed, He knows what is declared and what is hiddenإِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ وَمَا يَخۡفَىٰ
- 8And We will ease you toward easeوَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ
- 9So remind, if the reminder should benefitفَذَكِّرۡ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ
- 10He who fears [Allāh] will be remindedسَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخۡشَىٰ
- 11But the wretched one will avoid itوَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلۡأَشۡقَى
- 12[He] who will [enter and] burn in the greatest Fireٱلَّذِي يَصۡلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰ
- 13Neither dying therein nor livingثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحۡيَىٰ
- 14He has certainly succeeded who purifies himselfقَدۡ أَفۡلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ
- 15And mentions the name of his Lord and praysوَذَكَرَ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ
- 16But you prefer the worldly lifeبَلۡ تُؤۡثِرُونَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا
- 17While the Hereafter is better and more enduringوَٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ خَيۡرٞ وَأَبۡقَىٰٓ
- 18Indeed, this is in the former scripturesإِنَّ هَٰذَا لَفِي ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ
- 19The scriptures of Abraham and Mosesصُحُفِ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ
