Sūrah 89

al-Fajr

The Dawn · 30 verses
Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥeem
  1. 1By the dawnوَٱلۡفَجۡرِ
  2. 2And [by] ten nightsوَلَيَالٍ عَشۡرٖ
  3. 3And [by] the even [number] and the oddوَٱلشَّفۡعِ وَٱلۡوَتۡرِ
  4. 4And [by] the night when it passesوَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَسۡرِ
  5. 5Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perceptionهَلۡ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٞ لِّذِي حِجۡرٍ
  6. 6Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aadأَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ
  7. 7[With] Iram - who had lofty pillarsإِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلۡعِمَادِ
  8. 8The likes of whom had never been created in the landٱلَّتِي لَمۡ يُخۡلَقۡ مِثۡلُهَا فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ
  9. 9And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valleyوَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُواْ ٱلصَّخۡرَ بِٱلۡوَادِ
  10. 10And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakesوَفِرۡعَوۡنَ ذِي ٱلۡأَوۡتَادِ
  11. 11[All of] whom oppressed within the landsٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ
  12. 12And increased therein the corruptionفَأَكۡثَرُواْ فِيهَا ٱلۡفَسَادَ
  13. 13So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishmentفَصَبَّ عَلَيۡهِمۡ رَبُّكَ سَوۡطَ عَذَابٍ
  14. 14Indeed, your Lord is in observationإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلۡمِرۡصَادِ
  15. 15And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored meفَأَمَّا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبۡتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكۡرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَكۡرَمَنِ
  16. 16But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated meوَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبۡتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيۡهِ رِزۡقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّيٓ أَهَٰنَنِ
  17. 17No! But you do not honor the orphanكَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا تُكۡرِمُونَ ٱلۡيَتِيمَ
  18. 18And you do not encourage one another to feed the poorوَلَا تَحَـٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ
  19. 19And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogetherوَتَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكۡلٗا لَّمّٗا
  20. 20And you love wealth with immense loveوَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلۡمَالَ حُبّٗا جَمّٗا
  21. 21No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushedكَلَّآۖ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ دَكّٗا دَكّٗا
  22. 22And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rankوَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلۡمَلَكُ صَفّٗا صَفّٗا
  23. 23And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembranceوَجِاْيٓءَ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بِجَهَنَّمَۚ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ
  24. 24He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my lifeيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي قَدَّمۡتُ لِحَيَاتِي
  25. 25So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishmentفَيَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٞ
  26. 26And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers]وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٞ
  27. 27[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soulيَـٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ
  28. 28Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him]ٱرۡجِعِيٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةٗ مَّرۡضِيَّةٗ
  29. 29And enter among My [righteous] servantsفَٱدۡخُلِي فِي عِبَٰدِي
  30. 30And enter My Paradiseوَٱدۡخُلِي جَنَّتِي
