Sūrah 69

al-Ḥāqqah

The Reality · 52 verses
Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥeem
  1. 1The Inevitable Realityٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
  2. 2What is the Inevitable Realityمَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
  3. 3And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Realityوَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحَآقَّةُ
  4. 4Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamityكَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ وَعَادُۢ بِٱلۡقَارِعَةِ
  5. 5So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ
  6. 6And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent windوَأَمَّا عَادٞ فَأُهۡلِكُواْ بِرِيحٖ صَرۡصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٖ
  7. 7Which Allāh imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm treesسَخَّرَهَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَبۡعَ لَيَالٖ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومٗاۖ فَتَرَى ٱلۡقَوۡمَ فِيهَا صَرۡعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٍ خَاوِيَةٖ
  8. 8Then do you see of them any remainsفَهَلۡ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِيَةٖ
  9. 9And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sinوَجَآءَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَن قَبۡلَهُۥ وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَٰتُ بِٱلۡخَاطِئَةِ
  10. 10And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]فَعَصَوۡاْ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ أَخۡذَةٗ رَّابِيَةً
  11. 11Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing shipإِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلۡمَآءُ حَمَلۡنَٰكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡجَارِيَةِ
  12. 12That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of itلِنَجۡعَلَهَا لَكُمۡ تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٞ وَٰعِيَةٞ
  13. 13Then when the Horn is blown with one blastفَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي ٱلصُّورِ نَفۡخَةٞ وَٰحِدَةٞ
  14. 14And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blowوَحُمِلَتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ وَٱلۡجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ
  15. 15Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occurفَيَوۡمَئِذٖ وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
  16. 16And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirmوَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِيَ يَوۡمَئِذٖ وَاهِيَةٞ
  17. 17And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]وَٱلۡمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرۡجَآئِهَاۚ وَيَحۡمِلُ عَرۡشَ رَبِّكَ فَوۡقَهُمۡ يَوۡمَئِذٖ ثَمَٰنِيَةٞ
  18. 18That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealedيَوۡمَئِذٖ تُعۡرَضُونَ لَا تَخۡفَىٰ مِنكُمۡ خَافِيَةٞ
  19. 19So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my recordفَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقۡرَءُواْ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
  20. 20Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my accountإِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلَٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهۡ
  21. 21So he will be in a pleasant lifeفَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٖ رَّاضِيَةٖ
  22. 22In an elevated gardenفِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٖ
  23. 23Its [fruit] to be picked hanging nearقُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٞ
  24. 24[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days pastكُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَآ أَسۡلَفۡتُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَيَّامِ ٱلۡخَالِيَةِ
  25. 25But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my recordوَأَمَّا مَنۡ أُوتِيَ كِتَٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَٰلَيۡتَنِي لَمۡ أُوتَ كِتَٰبِيَهۡ
  26. 26And had not known what is my accountوَلَمۡ أَدۡرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهۡ
  27. 27I wish my death had been the decisive oneيَٰلَيۡتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلۡقَاضِيَةَ
  28. 28My wealth has not availed meمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهۡۜ
  29. 29Gone from me is my authorityهَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلۡطَٰنِيَهۡ
  30. 30[Allāh will say], "Seize him and shackle himخُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ
  31. 31Then into Hellfire drive himثُمَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ
  32. 32Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert himثُمَّ فِي سِلۡسِلَةٖ ذَرۡعُهَا سَبۡعُونَ ذِرَاعٗا فَٱسۡلُكُوهُ
  33. 33Indeed, he did not used to believe in Allāh, the Most Greatإِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
  34. 34Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poorوَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ
  35. 35So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friendفَلَيۡسَ لَهُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ هَٰهُنَا حَمِيمٞ
  36. 36Nor any food except from the discharge of woundsوَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنۡ غِسۡلِينٖ
  37. 37None will eat it except the sinnersلَّا يَأۡكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡخَٰطِـُٔونَ
  38. 38So I swear by what you seeفَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
  39. 39And what you do not seeوَمَا لَا تُبۡصِرُونَ
  40. 40[That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messengerإِنَّهُۥ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُولٖ كَرِيمٖ
  41. 41And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believeوَمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَاعِرٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تُؤۡمِنُونَ
  42. 42Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you rememberوَلَا بِقَوۡلِ كَاهِنٖۚ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ
  43. 43[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worldsتَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
  44. 44And if Muḥammad had made up about Us some [false] sayingsوَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيۡنَا بَعۡضَ ٱلۡأَقَاوِيلِ
  45. 45We would have seized him by the right handلَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُ بِٱلۡيَمِينِ
  46. 46Then We would have cut from him the aortaثُمَّ لَقَطَعۡنَا مِنۡهُ ٱلۡوَتِينَ
  47. 47And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from himفَمَا مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ عَنۡهُ حَٰجِزِينَ
  48. 48And indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder for the righteousوَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذۡكِرَةٞ لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
  49. 49And indeed, We know that among you are deniersوَإِنَّا لَنَعۡلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ
  50. 50And indeed, it will be [a cause of] regret upon the disbelieversوَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسۡرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
  51. 51And indeed, it is the truth of certaintyوَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
  52. 52So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Greatفَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
