Sūrah 75

al-Qiyāmah

The Resurrection · 40 verses
Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥeem
  1. 1I swear by the Day of Resurrectionلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
  2. 2And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]وَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلنَّفۡسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
  3. 3Does man think that We will not assemble his bonesأَيَحۡسَبُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجۡمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
  4. 4Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertipsبَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُۥ
  5. 5But man desires to continue in sinبَلۡ يُرِيدُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفۡجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
  6. 6He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrectionيَسۡـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوۡمُ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
  7. 7So when vision is dazzledفَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ
  8. 8And the moon darkensوَخَسَفَ ٱلۡقَمَرُ
  9. 9And the sun and the moon are joinedوَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ
  10. 10Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escapeيَقُولُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ يَوۡمَئِذٍ أَيۡنَ ٱلۡمَفَرُّ
  11. 11No! There is no refugeكَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
  12. 12To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanenceإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوۡمَئِذٍ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقَرُّ
  13. 13Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept backيُنَبَّؤُاْ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
  14. 14Rather, man, against himself, will be a witnessبَلِ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفۡسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٞ
  15. 15Even if he presents his excusesوَلَوۡ أَلۡقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
  16. 16Move not your tongue with it, [O Muḥammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'anلَا تُحَرِّكۡ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعۡجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
  17. 17Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitationإِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا جَمۡعَهُۥ وَقُرۡءَانَهُۥ
  18. 18So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitationفَإِذَا قَرَأۡنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعۡ قُرۡءَانَهُۥ
  19. 19Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
  20. 20No! But you love the immediateكَلَّا بَلۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلۡعَاجِلَةَ
  21. 21And leave the Hereafterوَتَذَرُونَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ
  22. 22[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiantوُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ نَّاضِرَةٌ
  23. 23Looking at their Lordإِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٞ
  24. 24And [some] faces, that Day, will be contortedوَوُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بَاسِرَةٞ
  25. 25Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreakingتَظُنُّ أَن يُفۡعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٞ
  26. 26No! When the soul has reached the collar bonesكَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِيَ
  27. 27And it is said, "Who will cure [him]وَقِيلَ مَنۡۜ رَاقٖ
  28. 28And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separationوَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡفِرَاقُ
  29. 29And the leg is wound about the legوَٱلۡتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
  30. 30To your Lord, that Day, will be the processionإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوۡمَئِذٍ ٱلۡمَسَاقُ
  31. 31And the disbeliever had not believed, nor had he prayedفَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
  32. 32But [instead], he denied and turned awayوَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
  33. 33And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride]ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
  34. 34Woe to you, and woeأَوۡلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوۡلَىٰ
  35. 35Then woe to you, and woeثُمَّ أَوۡلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوۡلَىٰٓ
  36. 36Does man think that he will be left neglectedأَيَحۡسَبُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتۡرَكَ سُدًى
  37. 37Had he not been a sperm from semen emittedأَلَمۡ يَكُ نُطۡفَةٗ مِّن مَّنِيّٖ يُمۡنَىٰ
  38. 38Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allāh] created [his form] and proportioned [him]ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةٗ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
  39. 39And made of him two mates, the male and the femaleفَجَعَلَ مِنۡهُ ٱلزَّوۡجَيۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰٓ
  40. 40Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the deadأَلَيۡسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحۡـِۧيَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ
