Sūrah 54

al-Qamar

The Moon · 55 verses
Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥeem
  1. 1The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two]ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلۡقَمَرُ
  2. 2And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magicوَإِن يَرَوۡاْ ءَايَةٗ يُعۡرِضُواْ وَيَقُولُواْ سِحۡرٞ مُّسۡتَمِرّٞ
  3. 3And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlementوَكَذَّبُواْ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚ وَكُلُّ أَمۡرٖ مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ
  4. 4And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrenceوَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ
  5. 5Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them]حِكۡمَةُۢ بَٰلِغَةٞۖ فَمَا تُغۡنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ
  6. 6So leave them, [O Muḥammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbiddingفَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡۘ يَوۡمَ يَدۡعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ نُّكُرٍ
  7. 7Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreadingخُشَّعًا أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ يَخۡرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمۡ جَرَادٞ مُّنتَشِرٞ
  8. 8Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Dayمُّهۡطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِۖ يَقُولُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوۡمٌ عَسِرٞ
  9. 9The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled۞كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٖ فَكَذَّبُواْ عَبۡدَنَا وَقَالُواْ مَجۡنُونٞ وَٱزۡدُجِرَ
  10. 10So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so helpفَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّي مَغۡلُوبٞ فَٱنتَصِرۡ
  11. 11Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring downفَفَتَحۡنَآ أَبۡوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٖ مُّنۡهَمِرٖ
  12. 12And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestinedوَفَجَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأَرۡضَ عُيُونٗا فَٱلۡتَقَى ٱلۡمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرٖ قَدۡ قُدِرَ
  13. 13And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nailsوَحَمَلۡنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلۡوَٰحٖ وَدُسُرٖ
  14. 14Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been deniedتَجۡرِي بِأَعۡيُنِنَا جَزَآءٗ لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ
  15. 15And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will rememberوَلَقَد تَّرَكۡنَٰهَآ ءَايَةٗ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
  16. 16And how [severe] were My punishment and warningفَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
  17. 17And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will rememberوَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
  18. 18Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warningكَذَّبَتۡ عَادٞ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
  19. 19Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortuneإِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحٗا صَرۡصَرٗا فِي يَوۡمِ نَحۡسٖ مُّسۡتَمِرّٖ
  20. 20Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprootedتَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٖ مُّنقَعِرٖ
  21. 21And how [severe] were My punishment and warningفَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
  22. 22And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will rememberوَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
  23. 23Thamud denied the warningكَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
  24. 24And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madnessفَقَالُوٓاْ أَبَشَرٗا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدٗا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذٗا لَّفِي ضَلَٰلٖ وَسُعُرٍ
  25. 25Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liarأَءُلۡقِيَ ٱلذِّكۡرُ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا بَلۡ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٞ
  26. 26They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liarسَيَعۡلَمُونَ غَدٗا مَّنِ ٱلۡكَذَّابُ ٱلۡأَشِرُ
  27. 27Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patientإِنَّا مُرۡسِلُواْ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتۡنَةٗ لَّهُمۡ فَٱرۡتَقِبۡهُمۡ وَٱصۡطَبِرۡ
  28. 28And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ أَنَّ ٱلۡمَآءَ قِسۡمَةُۢ بَيۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلُّ شِرۡبٖ مُّحۡتَضَرٞ
  29. 29But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her]فَنَادَوۡاْ صَاحِبَهُمۡ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ
  30. 30And how [severe] were My punishment and warningفَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
  31. 31Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] penإِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَكَانُواْ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِ
  32. 32And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will rememberوَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
  33. 33The people of Lot denied the warningكَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطِۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
  34. 34Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot - We saved them before dawnإِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٖۖ نَّجَّيۡنَٰهُم بِسَحَرٖ
  35. 35As favor from us. Thus do We reward he who is gratefulنِّعۡمَةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِنَاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي مَن شَكَرَ
  36. 36And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warningوَلَقَدۡ أَنذَرَهُم بَطۡشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوۡاْ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
  37. 37And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warningوَلَقَدۡ رَٰوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيۡفِهِۦ فَطَمَسۡنَآ أَعۡيُنَهُمۡ فَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
  38. 38And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishmentوَلَقَدۡ صَبَّحَهُم بُكۡرَةً عَذَابٞ مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ
  39. 39So taste My punishment and warningفَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
  40. 40And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will rememberوَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
  41. 41And there certainly came to the people of Pharaoh warningوَلَقَدۡ جَآءَ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ
  42. 42They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Abilityكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُمۡ أَخۡذَ عَزِيزٖ مُّقۡتَدِرٍ
  43. 43Are your disbelievers better than those [former ones], or have you immunity in the scriptureأَكُفَّارُكُمۡ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكُمۡ أَمۡ لَكُم بَرَآءَةٞ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ
  44. 44Or do they say, "We are an assembly supporting [each other]أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ نَحۡنُ جَمِيعٞ مُّنتَصِرٞ
  45. 45[Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat]سَيُهۡزَمُ ٱلۡجَمۡعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ
  46. 46But the Hour is their appointment [for due punishment], and the Hour is more disastrous and more bitterبَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوۡعِدُهُمۡ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدۡهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ
  47. 47Indeed, the criminals are in error and madnessإِنَّ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ وَسُعُرٖ
  48. 48The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], "Taste the touch of Saqarيَوۡمَ يُسۡحَبُونَ فِي ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمۡ ذُوقُواْ مَسَّ سَقَرَ
  49. 49Indeed, all things We created with predestinationإِنَّا كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَٰهُ بِقَدَرٖ
  50. 50And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eyeوَمَآ أَمۡرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰحِدَةٞ كَلَمۡحِۭ بِٱلۡبَصَرِ
  51. 51And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will rememberوَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشۡيَاعَكُمۡ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ
  52. 52And everything they did is in written recordsوَكُلُّ شَيۡءٖ فَعَلُوهُ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ
  53. 53And every small and great [thing] is inscribedوَكُلُّ صَغِيرٖ وَكَبِيرٖ مُّسۡتَطَرٌ
  54. 54Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and riversإِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ وَنَهَرٖ
  55. 55In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Abilityفِي مَقۡعَدِ صِدۡقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٖ مُّقۡتَدِرِۭ
