Sūrah 56

al-Wāqiʿah

The Inevitable · 96 verses
Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥeem
  1. 1When the Occurrence occursإِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ
  2. 2There is, at its occurrence, no denialلَيۡسَ لِوَقۡعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ
  3. 3It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]خَافِضَةٞ رَّافِعَةٌ
  4. 4When the earth is shaken with convulsionإِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ رَجّٗا
  5. 5And the mountains are broken down, crumblingوَبُسَّتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ بَسّٗا
  6. 6And become dust dispersingفَكَانَتۡ هَبَآءٗ مُّنۢبَثّٗا
  7. 7And you become [of] three kindsوَكُنتُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا ثَلَٰثَةٗ
  8. 8Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the rightفَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ
  9. 9And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the leftوَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ
  10. 10And the forerunners, the forerunnersوَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ
  11. 11Those are the ones brought near [to Allāh]أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ
  12. 12In the Gardens of Pleasureفِي جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
  13. 13A [large] company of the former peoplesثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
  14. 14And a few of the later peoplesوَقَلِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
  15. 15On thrones woven [with ornament]عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّوۡضُونَةٖ
  16. 16Reclining on them, facing each otherمُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ
  17. 17There will circulate among them young boys made eternalيَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَٰنٞ مُّخَلَّدُونَ
  18. 18With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing springبِأَكۡوَابٖ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأۡسٖ مِّن مَّعِينٖ
  19. 19No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicatedلَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنۡهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ
  20. 20And fruit of what they selectوَفَٰكِهَةٖ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
  21. 21And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desireوَلَحۡمِ طَيۡرٖ مِّمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ
  22. 22And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyesوَحُورٌ عِينٞ
  23. 23The likenesses of pearls well-protectedكَأَمۡثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤۡلُوِٕ ٱلۡمَكۡنُونِ
  24. 24As reward for what they used to doجَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
  25. 25They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sinلَا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا تَأۡثِيمًا
  26. 26Only a saying: "Peace, peaceإِلَّا قِيلٗا سَلَٰمٗا سَلَٰمٗا
  27. 27The companions of the right - what are the companions of the rightوَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
  28. 28[They will be] among lote trees with thorns removedفِي سِدۡرٖ مَّخۡضُودٖ
  29. 29And [banana] trees layered [with fruit]وَطَلۡحٖ مَّنضُودٖ
  30. 30And shade extendedوَظِلّٖ مَّمۡدُودٖ
  31. 31And water poured outوَمَآءٖ مَّسۡكُوبٖ
  32. 32And fruit, abundant [and varied]وَفَٰكِهَةٖ كَثِيرَةٖ
  33. 33Neither limited [to season] nor forbiddenلَّا مَقۡطُوعَةٖ وَلَا مَمۡنُوعَةٖ
  34. 34And [upon] beds raised highوَفُرُشٖ مَّرۡفُوعَةٍ
  35. 35Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creationإِنَّآ أَنشَأۡنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءٗ
  36. 36And made them virginsفَجَعَلۡنَٰهُنَّ أَبۡكَارًا
  37. 37Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal ageعُرُبًا أَتۡرَابٗا
  38. 38For the companions of the right [who are]لِّأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
  39. 39A company of the former peoplesثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
  40. 40And a company of the later peoplesوَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
  41. 41And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the leftوَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ
  42. 42[They will be] in scorching fire and scalding waterفِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖ
  43. 43And a shade of black smokeوَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحۡمُومٖ
  44. 44Neither cool nor beneficialلَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ
  45. 45Indeed they were, before that, indulging in affluenceإِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ
  46. 46And they used to persist in the great violationوَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
  47. 47And they used to say, "When we die and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrectedوَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ
  48. 48And our forefathers [as well]أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ
  49. 49Say, [O Muḥammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoplesقُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
  50. 50Are to be gathered together for the appointment of a known Dayلَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
  51. 51Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniersثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ
  52. 52Will be eating from trees of zaqqumلَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖ
  53. 53And filling with it your belliesفَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ
  54. 54And drinking on top of it from scalding waterفَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ
  55. 55And will drink as the drinking of thirsty camelsفَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِ
  56. 56That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompenseهَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ
  57. 57We have created you, so why do you not believeنَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ
  58. 58Have you seen that which you emitأَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تُمۡنُونَ
  59. 59Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creatorءَأَنتُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ
  60. 60We have decreed death among you, and We are not to be outdoneنَحۡنُ قَدَّرۡنَا بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِينَ
  61. 61In that We will change your likenesses and produce you in that [form] which you do not knowعَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمۡثَٰلَكُمۡ وَنُنشِئَكُمۡ فِي مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
  62. 62And you have already known the first creation, so will you not rememberوَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ فَلَوۡلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
  63. 63And have you seen that [seed] which you sowأَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَحۡرُثُونَ
  64. 64Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the growerءَأَنتُمۡ تَزۡرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلزَّـٰرِعُونَ
  65. 65If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonderلَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ حُطَٰمٗا فَظَلۡتُمۡ تَفَكَّهُونَ
  66. 66[Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debtإِنَّا لَمُغۡرَمُونَ
  67. 67Rather, we have been deprivedبَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ
  68. 68And have you seen the water that you drinkأَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَآءَ ٱلَّذِي تَشۡرَبُونَ
  69. 69Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it downءَأَنتُمۡ أَنزَلۡتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُزۡنِ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنزِلُونَ
  70. 70If We willed, We could make it bitter, so why are you not gratefulلَوۡ نَشَآءُ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ أُجَاجٗا فَلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُونَ
  71. 71And have you seen the fire that you igniteأَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي تُورُونَ
  72. 72Is it you who produced its tree, or are We the producerءَأَنتُمۡ أَنشَأۡتُمۡ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنشِـُٔونَ
  73. 73We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelersنَحۡنُ جَعَلۡنَٰهَا تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَمَتَٰعٗا لِّلۡمُقۡوِينَ
  74. 74So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Greatفَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
  75. 75Then I swear by the setting of the stars۞فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ
  76. 76And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] greatوَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٞ لَّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
  77. 77Indeed, it is a noble Qur'anإِنَّهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانٞ كَرِيمٞ
  78. 78In a Register well-protectedفِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖ
  79. 79None touch it except the purifiedلَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ
  80. 80[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worldsتَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
  81. 81Then is it to this statement that you are indifferentأَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدۡهِنُونَ
  82. 82And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]وَتَجۡعَلُونَ رِزۡقَكُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ
  83. 83Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throatفَلَوۡلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلۡحُلۡقُومَ
  84. 84And you are at that time looking onوَأَنتُمۡ حِينَئِذٖ تَنظُرُونَ
  85. 85And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not seeوَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبۡصِرُونَ
  86. 86Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensedفَلَوۡلَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ غَيۡرَ مَدِينِينَ
  87. 87Bring it back, if you should be truthfulتَرۡجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
  88. 88And if the deceased was of those brought near to Allāhفَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ
  89. 89Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasureفَرَوۡحٞ وَرَيۡحَانٞ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٖ
  90. 90And if he was of the companions of the rightوَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
  91. 91Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the rightفَسَلَٰمٞ لَّكَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ
  92. 92But if he was of the deniers [who were] astrayوَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
  93. 93Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding waterفَنُزُلٞ مِّنۡ حَمِيمٖ
  94. 94And burning in Hellfireوَتَصۡلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
  95. 95Indeed, this is the true certaintyإِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
  96. 96So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Greatفَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
