Sūrah 85

al-Burūj

The Mansions of the Stars · 22 verses
Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥeem
  1. 1By the sky containing great starsوَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡبُرُوجِ
  2. 2And [by] the promised Dayوَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡمَوۡعُودِ
  3. 3And [by] the witness and what is witnessedوَشَاهِدٖ وَمَشۡهُودٖ
  4. 4Cursed were the companions of the trenchقُتِلَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ
  5. 5[Containing] the fire full of fuelٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلۡوَقُودِ
  6. 6When they were sitting near itإِذۡ هُمۡ عَلَيۡهَا قُعُودٞ
  7. 7And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnessesوَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفۡعَلُونَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ شُهُودٞ
  8. 8And they resented them not except because they believed in Allāh, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthyوَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡحَمِيدِ
  9. 9To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allāh, over all things, is Witnessٱلَّذِي لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ
  10. 10Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fireإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابُ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ
  11. 11Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainmentإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتٞ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡكَبِيرُ
  12. 12Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severeإِنَّ بَطۡشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
  13. 13Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeatsإِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبۡدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
  14. 14And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionateوَهُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلۡوَدُودُ
  15. 15Honorable Owner of the Throneذُو ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱلۡمَجِيدُ
  16. 16Effecter of what He intendsفَعَّالٞ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
  17. 17Has there reached you the story of the soldiersهَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡجُنُودِ
  18. 18[Those of] Pharaoh and Thamudفِرۡعَوۡنَ وَثَمُودَ
  19. 19But they who disbelieve are in [persistent] denialبَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فِي تَكۡذِيبٖ
  20. 20While Allāh encompasses them from behindوَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطُۢ
  21. 21But this is an honored Qur'anبَلۡ هُوَ قُرۡءَانٞ مَّجِيدٞ
  22. 22[Inscribed] in a Preserved Slateفِي لَوۡحٖ مَّحۡفُوظِۭ
