بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Surah 84 — Al-Inshiqaaq
- 1إِذَاidhāWhenالسَّمَاءُl-samāuthe skyانْشَقَّتْinshaqqatis split asunder
- 2وَأَذِنَتْwa-adhinatAnd has listenedلِرَبِّهَاlirabbihāto its Lordوَحُقَّتْwaḥuqqatand was obligated
- 3وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenالْأَرْضُl-arḍuthe earthمُدَّتْmuddatis spread
- 4وَأَلْقَتْwa-alqatAnd has cast outمَاmāwhatفِيهَاfīhā(is) in itوَتَخَلَّتْwatakhallatand becomes empty
- 5وَأَذِنَتْwa-adhinatAnd has listenedلِرَبِّهَاlirabbihāto its Lordوَحُقَّتْwaḥuqqatand was obligated
- 6يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāOالْإِنْسَانُl-insānumankindإِنَّكَinnakaIndeed, youكَادِحٌkādiḥun(are) laboringإِلَىilātoرَبِّكَrabbikayour Lordكَدْحًاkadḥan(with) exertionفَمُلَاقِيهِfamulāqīhiand you (will) meet Him
- 7فَأَمَّاfa-ammāThen as forمَنْman(him) whoأُوتِيَūtiyais givenكِتَابَهُkitābahuhis recordبِيَمِينِهِbiyamīnihiin his right hand
- 8فَسَوْفَfasawfaSoonيُحَاسَبُyuḥāsabuhis account will be takenحِسَابًاḥisābanan accountيَسِيرًاyasīraneasy
- 9وَيَنْقَلِبُwayanqalibuAnd he will returnإِلَىilātoأَهْلِهِahlihihis peopleمَسْرُورًاmasrūranhappily
- 10وَأَمَّاwa-ammāBut as forمَنْman(him) whoأُوتِيَūtiyais givenكِتَابَهُkitābahuhis recordوَرَاءَwarāabehindظَهْرِهِẓahrihihis back
- 11فَسَوْفَfasawfaSoonيَدْعُواyadʿūhe will callثُبُورًاthubūran(for) destruction
- 12وَيَصْلَىwayaṣlāAnd he will burnسَعِيرًاsaʿīran(in) a Blaze
- 13إِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heكَانَkānahad beenفِيfīamongأَهْلِهِahlihihis peopleمَسْرُورًاmasrūranhappy
- 14إِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heظَنَّẓanna(had) thoughtأَنْanthatلَنْlanneverيَحُورَyaḥūrahe would return
- 15بَلَىbalāNay!إِنَّinnaIndeedرَبَّهُrabbahuhis Lordكَانَkānawasبِهِbihiof himبَصِيرًاbaṣīranseeing
- 16فَلَاfalāBut nay!أُقْسِمُuq'simuI swearبِالشَّفَقِbil-shafaqiby the twilight glow
- 17وَاللَّيْلِwa-al-layliAnd the nightوَمَاwamāand whatوَسَقَwasaqait envelops
- 18وَالْقَمَرِwal-qamariAnd the moonإِذَاidhāwhenاتَّسَقَittasaqait becomes full
- 19لَتَرْكَبُنَّlatarkabunnaYou will surely embarkطَبَقًاṭabaqan(to) stageعَنْʿanfromطَبَقٍṭabaqinstage
- 20فَمَاfamāSo whatلَهُمْlahum(is) for themلَاlānotيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnathey believe
- 21وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenقُرِئَquri-ais recitedعَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimuto themالْقُرْءَانُl-qur'ānuthe Quranلَاlānotيَسْجُدُونَyasjudūnathey prostrate
- 22بَلِbaliNay!الَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedيُكَذِّبُونَyukadhibūnadeny
- 23وَاللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahأَعْلَمُaʿlamu(is) most knowingبِمَاbimāof whatيُوعُونَyūʿūnathey keep within themselves
- 24فَبَشِّرْهُمْfabashir'humSo give them tidingsبِعَذَابٍbiʿadhābinof a punishmentأَلِيمٍalīminpainful
- 25إِلَّاillāExceptالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveوَعَمِلُواwaʿamilūand doالصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deedsلَهُمْlahumFor themأَجْرٌajrun(is) a rewardغَيْرُghayruneverمَمْنُونٍmamnūninending
