بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 84 — Al-Inshiqaaq

  1. 1إِذَاidhāWhenالسَّمَاءُl-samāuthe skyانْشَقَّتْinshaqqatis split asunder
  2. 2وَأَذِنَتْwa-adhinatAnd has listenedلِرَبِّهَاlirabbihāto its Lordوَحُقَّتْwaḥuqqatand was obligated
  3. 3وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenالْأَرْضُl-arḍuthe earthمُدَّتْmuddatis spread
  4. 4وَأَلْقَتْwa-alqatAnd has cast outمَاwhatفِيهَاfīhā(is) in itوَتَخَلَّتْwatakhallatand becomes empty
  5. 5وَأَذِنَتْwa-adhinatAnd has listenedلِرَبِّهَاlirabbihāto its Lordوَحُقَّتْwaḥuqqatand was obligated
  6. 6يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāOالْإِنْسَانُl-insānumankindإِنَّكَinnakaIndeed, youكَادِحٌkādiḥun(are) laboringإِلَىilātoرَبِّكَrabbikayour Lordكَدْحًاkadḥan(with) exertionفَمُلَاقِيهِfamulāqīhiand you (will) meet Him
  7. 7فَأَمَّاfa-ammāThen as forمَنْman(him) whoأُوتِيَūtiyais givenكِتَابَهُkitābahuhis recordبِيَمِينِهِbiyamīnihiin his right hand
  8. 8فَسَوْفَfasawfaSoonيُحَاسَبُyuḥāsabuhis account will be takenحِسَابًاḥisābanan accountيَسِيرًاyasīraneasy
  9. 9وَيَنْقَلِبُwayanqalibuAnd he will returnإِلَىilātoأَهْلِهِahlihihis peopleمَسْرُورًاmasrūranhappily
  10. 10وَأَمَّاwa-ammāBut as forمَنْman(him) whoأُوتِيَūtiyais givenكِتَابَهُkitābahuhis recordوَرَاءَwarāabehindظَهْرِهِẓahrihihis back
  11. 11فَسَوْفَfasawfaSoonيَدْعُواyadʿūhe will callثُبُورًاthubūran(for) destruction
  12. 12وَيَصْلَىwayaṣlāAnd he will burnسَعِيرًاsaʿīran(in) a Blaze
  13. 13إِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heكَانَkānahad beenفِيamongأَهْلِهِahlihihis peopleمَسْرُورًاmasrūranhappy
  14. 14إِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heظَنَّẓanna(had) thoughtأَنْanthatلَنْlanneverيَحُورَyaḥūrahe would return
  15. 15بَلَىbalāNay!إِنَّinnaIndeedرَبَّهُrabbahuhis Lordكَانَkānawasبِهِbihiof himبَصِيرًاbaṣīranseeing
  16. 16فَلَاfalāBut nay!أُقْسِمُuq'simuI swearبِالشَّفَقِbil-shafaqiby the twilight glow
  17. 17وَاللَّيْلِwa-al-layliAnd the nightوَمَاwamāand whatوَسَقَwasaqait envelops
  18. 18وَالْقَمَرِwal-qamariAnd the moonإِذَاidhāwhenاتَّسَقَittasaqait becomes full
  19. 19لَتَرْكَبُنَّlatarkabunnaYou will surely embarkطَبَقًاṭabaqan(to) stageعَنْʿanfromطَبَقٍṭabaqinstage
  20. 20فَمَاfamāSo whatلَهُمْlahum(is) for themلَاnotيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnathey believe
  21. 21وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenقُرِئَquri-ais recitedعَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimuto themالْقُرْءَانُl-qur'ānuthe Quranلَاnotيَسْجُدُونَyasjudūnathey prostrate
  22. 22بَلِbaliNay!الَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedيُكَذِّبُونَyukadhibūnadeny
  23. 23وَاللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahأَعْلَمُaʿlamu(is) most knowingبِمَاbimāof whatيُوعُونَyūʿūnathey keep within themselves
  24. 24فَبَشِّرْهُمْfabashir'humSo give them tidingsبِعَذَابٍbiʿadhābinof a punishmentأَلِيمٍalīminpainful
  25. 25إِلَّاillāExceptالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveوَعَمِلُواwaʿamilūand doالصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deedsلَهُمْlahumFor themأَجْرٌajrun(is) a rewardغَيْرُghayruneverمَمْنُونٍmamnūninending
