بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 63 — Al-Munaafiqoon

  1. 1إِذَاidhāWhenجَاءَكَjāakacome to youالْمُنَافِقُونَl-munāfiqūnathe hypocritesقَالُواqālūthey sayنَشْهَدُnashhaduWe testifyإِنَّكَinnakathat youلَرَسُولُlarasūlu(are) surely (the) Messengerاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَاللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsإِنَّكَinnakathat youلَرَسُولُهُlarasūluhu(are) surely His Messengerوَاللَّهُwal-lahuand Allahيَشْهَدُyashhadutestifiesإِنَّinnathatالْمُنَافِقِينَl-munāfiqīnathe hypocritesلَكَاذِبُونَlakādhibūna(are) surely liars
  2. 2اتَّخَذُواittakhadhūThey takeأَيْمَانَهُمْaymānahumtheir oathsجُنَّةًjunnatan(as) a coverفَصَدُّواfaṣaddūso they turn awayعَنْʿanfromسَبِيلِsabīli(the) Wayاللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeedسَاءَsāaevil isمَاwhatكَانُواkānūthey used (to)يَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
  3. 3ذَلِكَdhālikaThatبِأَنَّهُمْbi-annahum(is) becauseءَامَنُواāmanūthey believedثُمَّthummathenكَفَرُواkafarūthey disbelieved;فَطُبِعَfaṭubiʿaso were sealedعَلَىʿalā[upon]قُلُوبِهِمْqulūbihimtheir heartsفَهُمْfahumso theyلَا(do) notيَفْقَهُونَyafqahūnaunderstand
  4. 4وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenرَأَيْتَهُمْra-aytahumyou see themتُعْجِبُكَtuʿ'jibukapleases youأَجْسَامُهُمْajsāmuhumtheir bodiesوَإِنْwa-inand ifيَقُولُواyaqūlūthey speakتَسْمَعْtasmaʿyou listenلِقَوْلِهِمْliqawlihimto their speechكَأَنَّهُمْka-annahumas if they (were)خُشُبٌkhushubunpieces of woodمُسَنَّدَةٌmusannadatunpropped upيَحْسَبُونَyaḥsabūnaThey thinkكُلَّkullaeveryصَيْحَةٍṣayḥatinshoutعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhim(is) against themهُمُhumuTheyالْعَدُوُّl-ʿaduwu(are) the enemyفَاحْذَرْهُمْfa-iḥ'dharhumso beware of themقَاتَلَهُمُqātalahumuMay destroy themاللَّهُl-lahuAllahأَنَّىannāHowيُؤْفَكُونَyu'fakūnaare they deluded
  5. 5وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenقِيلَqīlait is saidلَهُمْlahumto themتَعَالَوْاtaʿālawComeيَسْتَغْفِرْyastaghfirwill ask forgivenessلَكُمْlakumfor youرَسُولُrasūlu(the) Messengerاللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahلَوَّوْاlawwawThey turn asideرُءُوسَهُمْruūsahumtheir headsوَرَأَيْتَهُمْwara-aytahumand you see themيَصُدُّونَyaṣuddūnaturning awayوَهُمْwahumwhile theyمُسْتَكْبِرُونَmus'takbirūna(are) arrogant
  6. 6سَوَاءٌsawāon(It) is sameعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimfor themأَسْتَغْفَرْتَastaghfartawhether you ask forgivenessلَهُمْlahumfor themأَمْamorلَمْlam(do) notتَسْتَغْفِرْtastaghfirask forgivenessلَهُمْlahumfor themلَنْlanNeverيَغْفِرَyaghfirawill forgiveاللَّهُl-lahuAllahلَهُمْlahum[to] themإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَا(does) notيَهْدِيyahdīguideالْقَوْمَl-qawmathe peopleالْفَاسِقِينَl-fāsiqīnathe defiantly disobedient
  7. 7هُمُhumuTheyالَّذِينَalladhīna(are) those whoيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasayلَا(Do) notتُنْفِقُواtunfiqūspendعَلَىʿalāonمَنْman(those) whoعِنْدَʿinda(are) withرَسُولِrasūli(the) Messengerاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahحَتَّىḥattāuntilيَنْفَضُّواyanfaḍḍūthey disbandوَلِلَّهِwalillahiAnd for Allahخَزَائِنُkhazāinu(are the) treasuresالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَلَكِنَّwalākinnabutالْمُنَافِقِينَl-munāfiqīnathe hypocritesلَا(do) notيَفْقَهُونَyafqahūnaunderstand
  8. 8يَقُولُونَyaqūlūnaThey sayلَئِنْla-inIfرَجَعْنَاrajaʿnāwe returnإِلَىilātoالْمَدِينَةِl-madīnatiAl-Madinahلَيُخْرِجَنَّlayukh'rijannasurely will expelالْأَعَزُّl-aʿazuthe more honorableمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom itالْأَذَلَّl-adhalathe more humbleوَلِلَّهِwalillahiBut for Allahالْعِزَّةُl-ʿizatu(is) the honorوَلِرَسُولِهِwalirasūlihiand for His Messengerوَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَwalil'mu'minīnaand for the believersوَلَكِنَّwalākinnabutالْمُنَافِقِينَl-munāfiqīnathe hypocritesلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
  9. 9يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāOالَّذِينَalladhīnayou (who)ءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveلَا(Let) notتُلْهِكُمْtul'hikumdivert youأَمْوَالُكُمْamwālukumyour wealthوَلَاwalāand notأَوْلَادُكُمْawlādukumyour childrenعَنْʿanfromذِكْرِdhik'ri(the) remembranceاللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahوَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverيَفْعَلْyafʿaldoesذَلِكَdhālikathatفَأُولَئِكَfa-ulāikathen thoseهُمُhumu[they]الْخَاسِرُونَl-khāsirūna(are) the losers
  10. 10وَأَنْفِقُواwa-anfiqūAnd spendمِنْminfromمَاwhatرَزَقْنَاكُمْrazaqnākumWe have provided youمِنْminfromقَبْلِqablibeforeأَنْan[that]يَأْتِيَyatiyacomesأَحَدَكُمُaḥadakumu(to) one of youالْمَوْتُl-mawtuthe deathفَيَقُولَfayaqūlaand he saysرَبِّrabbiMy LordلَوْلَاlawlāWhy notأَخَّرْتَنِيakhartanīYou delay meإِلَىilāforأَجَلٍajalina termقَرِيبٍqarībinnearفَأَصَّدَّقَfa-aṣṣaddaqaso I would give charityوَأَكُنْwa-akunand beمِنَminaamongالصَّالِحِينَl-ṣāliḥīnathe righteous
  11. 11وَلَنْwalanBut neverيُؤَخِّرَyu-akhirawill (be) delayedاللَّهُl-lahu(by) Allahنَفْسًاnafsana soulإِذَاidhāwhenجَاءَjāahas comeأَجَلُهَاajaluhāits termوَاللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahخَبِيرٌkhabīrun(is) All-Awareبِمَاbimāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou do
