بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 62 — Al-Jumu'a

  1. 1يُسَبِّحُyusabbiḥuGlorifiesلِلَّهِlillahiAllahمَاmāwhateverفِيfī(is) inالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَمَاwamāand whateverفِيfī(is) inالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthالْمَلِكِl-malikithe Sovereignالْقُدُّوسِl-qudūsithe Holyالْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzithe All-Mightyالْحَكِيمِl-ḥakīmithe All-Wise
  2. 2هُوَhuwaHeالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoبَعَثَbaʿathasentفِيfīamongالْأُمِّيِّينَl-umiyīnathe unletteredرَسُولًاrasūlana Messengerمِنْهُمْmin'humfrom themselvesيَتْلُواyatlūrecitingعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themءَايَاتِهِāyātihiHis Versesوَيُزَكِّيهِمْwayuzakkīhimand purifying themوَيُعَلِّمُهُمُwayuʿallimuhumuand teaching themالْكِتَابَl-kitābathe Bookوَالْحِكْمَةَwal-ḥik'mataand the wisdomوَإِنْwa-inalthoughكَانُواkānūthey wereمِنْminfromقَبْلُqablubeforeلَفِيlafīsurely inضَلَالٍḍalālinan errorمُبِينٍmubīninclear
  3. 3وَءَاخَرِينَwaākharīnaAnd othersمِنْهُمْmin'humamong themلَمَّاlammāwho have not yetيَلْحَقُواyalḥaqūjoinedبِهِمْbihimthemوَهُوَwahuwaand Heالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyالْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
  4. 4ذَلِكَdhālikaThatفَضْلُfaḍlu(is the) Bountyاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahيُؤْتِيهِyu'tīhiHe gives itمَنْman(to) whomيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsوَاللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahذُوdhū(is the) Possessorالْفَضْلِl-faḍli(of) Bountyالْعَظِيمِl-ʿaẓīmithe Great
  5. 5مَثَلُmathalu(The) likenessالَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoحُمِّلُواḥummilūwere entrustedالتَّوْرَاةَl-tawrāta(with) the Tauratثُمَّthummathenلَمْlamnotيَحْمِلُوهَاyaḥmilūhāthey bore itكَمَثَلِkamathali(is) likeالْحِمَارِl-ḥimārithe donkeyيَحْمِلُyaḥmiluwho carriesأَسْفَارًاasfāranbooksبِئْسَbi'saWretched isمَثَلُmathalu(the) exampleالْقَوْمِl-qawmi(of) the peopleالَّذِينَalladhīnawhoكَذَّبُواkadhabūdenyبِءَايَاتِbiāyāti(the) Signsاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَاللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahلَاlā(does) notيَهْدِيyahdīguideالْقَوْمَl-qawmathe peopleالظَّالِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
  6. 6قُلْqulSayيَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāOالَّذِينَalladhīnayou (who)هَادُواhādū(are) JewsإِنْinIfزَعَمْتُمْzaʿamtumyou claimأَنَّكُمْannakumthat youأَوْلِيَاءُawliyāu(are) alliesلِلَّهِlillahiof Allahمِنْminfromدُونِdūniexcludingالنَّاسِl-nāsithe peopleفَتَمَنَّوُاfatamannawūthen wishالْمَوْتَl-mawta(for) the deathإِنْinifكُنْتُمْkuntumyou areصَادِقِينَṣādiqīnatruthful
  7. 7وَلَاwalāBut notيَتَمَنَّوْنَهُyatamannawnahuthey will wish for itأَبَدًاabadaneverبِمَاbimāfor whatقَدَّمَتْqaddamathave sent forthأَيْدِيهِمْaydīhimtheir handsوَاللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahعَلِيمٌʿalīmun(is) All-Knowingبِالظَّالِمِينَbil-ẓālimīnaof the wrongdoers
  8. 8قُلْqulSayإِنَّinnaIndeedالْمَوْتَl-mawtathe deathالَّذِيalladhīwhichتَفِرُّونَtafirrūnayou fleeمِنْهُmin'hufrom itفَإِنَّهُfa-innahuthen surely itمُلَاقِيكُمْmulāqīkum(will) meet youثُمَّthummaThenتُرَدُّونَturaddūnayou will be sent backإِلَىilātoعَالِمِʿālimi(the) All-Knowerالْغَيْبِl-ghaybi(of) the unseenوَالشَّهَادَةِwal-shahādatiand the witnessedفَيُنَبِّئُكُمْfayunabbi-ukumand He will inform youبِمَاbimāof whatكُنْتُمْkuntumyou used (to)تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
  9. 9يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāOالَّذِينَalladhīna(you) whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveإِذَاidhāWhenنُودِيَnūdiya(the) call is madeلِلصَّلَوةِlilṣṣalatifor (the) prayerمِنْminonيَوْمِyawmi(the) dayالْجُمُعَةِl-jumuʿati(of) Fridayفَاسْعَوْاfa-is'ʿawthen hastenإِلَىilātoذِكْرِdhik'ri(the) remembranceاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَذَرُواwadharūand leaveالْبَيْعَl-bayʿathe businessذَلِكُمْdhālikumThatخَيْرٌkhayrun(is) betterلَكُمْlakumfor youإِنْinifكُنْتُمْkuntumyouتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
  10. 10فَإِذَاfa-idhāThen whenقُضِيَتِquḍiyatiis concludedالصَّلَوةُl-ṣalatuthe prayerفَانْتَشِرُواfa-intashirūthen disperseفِيfīinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe landوَابْتَغُواwa-ib'taghūand seekمِنْminfromفَضْلِfaḍli(the) Bountyاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَاذْكُرُواwa-udh'kurūand rememberاللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَثِيرًاkathīranmuchلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتُفْلِحُونَtuf'liḥūnasucceed
  11. 11وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenرَأَوْاra-awthey sawتِجَارَةًtijāratana transactionأَوْaworلَهْوًاlahwana sportانْفَضُّواinfaḍḍūthey rushedإِلَيْهَاilayhāto itوَتَرَكُوكَwatarakūkaand left youقَائِمًاqāimanstandingقُلْqulSayمَاmāWhatعِنْدَʿinda(is) withاللَّهِl-lahiAllahخَيْرٌkhayrun(is) betterمِنَminathanاللَّهْوِl-lahwithe sportوَمِنَwaminaand fromالتِّجَارَةِl-tijārati(any) transactionوَاللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahخَيْرُkhayru(is the) Bestالرَّازِقِينَl-rāziqīna(of) the Providers
