بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 51 — Adh-Dhaariyat

  1. 1وَالذَّارِيَاتِwal-dhāriyātiBy those scatteringذَرْوًاdharwandispersing
  2. 2فَالْحَامِلَاتِfal-ḥāmilātiAnd those carryingوِقْرًاwiq'rana load
  3. 3فَالْجَارِيَاتِfal-jāriyātiAnd those sailingيُسْرًاyus'ran(with) ease
  4. 4فَالْمُقَسِّمَاتِfal-muqasimātiAnd those distributingأَمْرًاamranCommand
  5. 5إِنَّمَاinnamāIndeed whatتُوعَدُونَtūʿadūnayou are promisedلَصَادِقٌlaṣādiqun(is) surely true
  6. 6وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedالدِّينَl-dīnathe Judgmentلَوَاقِعٌlawāqiʿun(is) surely to occur
  7. 7وَالسَّمَاءِwal-samāiBy the heavenذَاتِdhātifull ofالْحُبُكِl-ḥubukipathways
  8. 8إِنَّكُمْinnakumIndeed youلَفِيlafī(are) surely inقَوْلٍqawlina speechمُخْتَلِفٍmukh'talifindiffering
  9. 9يُؤْفَكُyu'fakuDeluded awayعَنْهُʿanhufrom itمَنْman(is he) whoأُفِكَufikais deluded
  10. 10قُتِلَqutilaCursed beالْخَرَّاصُونَl-kharāṣūnathe liars
  11. 11الَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoهُمْhum[they]فِي(are) inغَمْرَةٍghamratinfloodسَاهُونَsāhūna(of) heedlessness
  12. 12يَسْءَلُونَyasalūnaThey askأَيَّانَayyānaWhenيَوْمُyawmu(is the) Dayالدِّينِl-dīni(of) Judgment
  13. 13يَوْمَyawmaA Dayهُمْhumtheyعَلَىʿalāoverالنَّارِl-nārithe Fireيُفْتَنُونَyuf'tanūnawill be tried
  14. 14ذُوقُواdhūqūTasteفِتْنَتَكُمْfit'natakumyour trialهَذَاhādhāThisالَّذِيalladhī(is) whatكُنْتُمْkuntumyou wereبِهِbihifor itتَسْتَعْجِلُونَtastaʿjilūnaseeking to hasten
  15. 15إِنَّinnaIndeedالْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīnathe righteousفِي(will be) inجَنَّاتٍjannātinGardensوَعُيُونٍwaʿuyūninand springs
  16. 16ءَاخِذِينَākhidhīnaTakingمَاwhatءَاتَاهُمْātāhum(their Lord) has given themرَبُّهُمْrabbuhumtheir LordإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, theyكَانُواkānūwereقَبْلَqablabeforeذَلِكَdhālikathatمُحْسِنِينَmuḥ'sinīnagood-doers
  17. 17كَانُواkānūThey used (to)قَلِيلًاqalīlanlittleمِنَminaofاللَّيْلِal-laylithe nightمَا[what]يَهْجَعُونَyahjaʿūnasleep
  18. 18وَبِالْأَسْحَارِwabil-asḥāriAnd in the hours before dawnهُمْhumtheyيَسْتَغْفِرُونَyastaghfirūnawould ask forgiveness
  19. 19وَفِيwafīAnd inأَمْوَالِهِمْamwālihimtheir wealthحَقٌّḥaqqun(was the) rightلِلسَّائِلِlilssāili(of) those who askedوَالْمَحْرُومِwal-maḥrūmiand the deprived
  20. 20وَفِيwafīAnd inالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthءَايَاتٌāyātun(are) signsلِلْمُوقِنِينَlil'mūqinīnafor those who are certain
  21. 21وَفِيwafīAnd inأَنْفُسِكُمْanfusikumyourselvesأَفَلَاafalāThen will notتُبْصِرُونَtub'ṣirūnayou see
  22. 22وَفِيwafīAnd inالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe heavenرِزْقُكُمْriz'qukum(is) your provisionوَمَاwamāand whatتُوعَدُونَtūʿadūnayou are promised
  23. 23فَوَرَبِّfawarabbiThen by (the) Lordالسَّمَاءِl-samāi(of) the heavenوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthإِنَّهُinnahuindeed itلَحَقٌّlaḥaqqun(is) surely (the) truthمِثْلَmith'la(just) asمَا[what]أَنَّكُمْannakumyouتَنْطِقُونَtanṭiqūnaspeak
  24. 24هَلْhalHasأَتَىكَatākareached youحَدِيثُḥadīthu(the) narrationضَيْفِḍayfi(of the) guestsإِبْرَاهِيمَib'rāhīma(of) Ibrahimالْمُكْرَمِينَl-muk'ramīnathe honored
  25. 25إِذْidhWhenدَخَلُواdakhalūthey enteredعَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon himفَقَالُواfaqālūand saidسَلَامًاsalāmanPeaceقَالَqālaHe saidسَلَامٌsalāmunPeaceقَوْمٌqawmuna peopleمُنْكَرُونَmunkarūnaunknown
  26. 26فَرَاغَfarāghaThen he wentإِلَىilātoأَهْلِهِahlihihis householdفَجَاءَfajāaand cameبِعِجْلٍbiʿij'linwith a calfسَمِينٍsamīninfat
  27. 27فَقَرَّبَهُfaqarrabahuAnd he placed it nearإِلَيْهِمْilayhim[to] themقَالَqālahe saidأَلَاalāWill notتَأْكُلُونَtakulūnayou eat
  28. 28فَأَوْجَسَfa-awjasaThen he feltمِنْهُمْmin'humfrom themخِيفَةًkhīfatana fearقَالُواqālūThey saidلَا(Do) notتَخَفْtakhaffearوَبَشَّرُوهُwabasharūhuand they gave him glad tidingsبِغُلَامٍbighulāminof a sonعَلِيمٍʿalīminlearned
  29. 29فَأَقْبَلَتِfa-aqbalatiThen came forwardامْرَأَتُهُim'ra-atuhuhis wifeفِيwithصَرَّةٍṣarratina loud voiceفَصَكَّتْfaṣakkatand struckوَجْهَهَاwajhahāher faceوَقَالَتْwaqālatand she saidعَجُوزٌʿajūzunAn old womanعَقِيمٌʿaqīmunbarren!
  30. 30قَالُواqālūThey saidكَذَلِكِkadhālikiThusقَالَqālasaidرَبُّكِrabbukiyour LordإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed Heهُوَhuwa[He]الْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmu(is) the All-Wiseالْعَلِيمُl-ʿalīmuthe All-Knower
  31. 31قَالَqālaHe saidفَمَاfamāThen whatخَطْبُكُمْkhaṭbukum(is) your missionأَيُّهَاayyuhāO messengersالْمُرْسَلُونَl-mur'salūnaO messengers
  32. 32قَالُواqālūThey saidإِنَّاinnāIndeed weأُرْسِلْنَاur'sil'nā[we] have been sentإِلَىilātoقَوْمٍqawmina peopleمُجْرِمِينَmuj'rimīnacriminal
  33. 33لِنُرْسِلَlinur'silaThat we may send downعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimupon themحِجَارَةًḥijāratanstonesمِنْminofطِينٍṭīninclay
  34. 34مُسَوَّمَةًmusawwamatanMarkedعِنْدَʿindaby your Lordرَبِّكَrabbikaby your Lordلِلْمُسْرِفِينَlil'mus'rifīnafor the transgressors
  35. 35فَأَخْرَجْنَاfa-akhrajnāThen We brought outمَنْman(those) whoكَانَkānawereفِيهَاfīhāthereinمِنَminaofالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
  36. 36فَمَاfamāBut notوَجَدْنَاwajadnāWe foundفِيهَاfīhāthereinغَيْرَghayraother thanبَيْتٍbaytina houseمِنَminaofالْمُسْلِمِينَl-mus'limīnathe Muslims
  37. 37وَتَرَكْنَاwataraknāAnd We leftفِيهَاfīhāthereinءَايَةًāyatana Signلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnafor those whoيَخَافُونَyakhāfūnafearالْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentالْأَلِيمَl-alīmathe painful
  38. 38وَفِيwafīAnd inمُوسَىmūsāMusaإِذْidhwhenأَرْسَلْنَاهُarsalnāhuWe sent himإِلَىilātoفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawnaFiraunبِسُلْطَانٍbisul'ṭāninwith an authorityمُبِينٍmubīninclear
  39. 39فَتَوَلَّىfatawallāBut he turned awayبِرُكْنِهِbiruk'nihiwith his supportersوَقَالَwaqālaand saidسَاحِرٌsāḥirunA magicianأَوْaworمَجْنُونٌmajnūnuna madman
  40. 40فَأَخَذْنَاهُfa-akhadhnāhuSo We took himوَجُنُودَهُwajunūdahuand his hostsفَنَبَذْنَاهُمْfanabadhnāhumand threw themفِيintoالْيَمِّl-yamithe seaوَهُوَwahuwawhile heمُلِيمٌmulīmun(was) blameworthy
  41. 41وَفِيwafīAnd inعَادٍʿādinAadإِذْidhwhenأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentعَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimuagainst themالرِّيحَl-rīḥathe windالْعَقِيمَl-ʿaqīmathe barren
  42. 42مَاNotتَذَرُtadharuit leftمِنْminanyشَيْءٍshayinthingأَتَتْatatit cameعَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon itإِلَّاillābutجَعَلَتْهُjaʿalathuit made itكَالرَّمِيمِkal-ramīmilike disintegrated ruins
  43. 43وَفِيwafīAnd inثَمُودَthamūdaThamudإِذْidhwhenقِيلَqīlawas saidلَهُمْlahumto themتَمَتَّعُواtamattaʿūEnjoy (yourselves)حَتَّىḥattāforحِينٍḥīnina time
  44. 44فَعَتَوْاfaʿatawBut they rebelledعَنْʿanagainstأَمْرِamri(the) Commandرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lordفَأَخَذَتْهُمُfa-akhadhathumuso seized themالصَّاعِقَةُl-ṣāʿiqatuthe thunderboltوَهُمْwahumwhile theyيَنْظُرُونَyanẓurūnawere looking
  45. 45فَمَاfamāThen notاسْتَطَاعُواis'taṭāʿūthey were ableمِنْmintoقِيَامٍqiyāminstandوَمَاwamāand notكَانُواkānūthey couldمُنْتَصِرِينَmuntaṣirīnahelp themselves
  46. 46وَقَوْمَwaqawmaAnd (the) peopleنُوحٍnūḥin(of) Nuhمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeإِنَّهُمْinnahumindeed, theyكَانُواkānūwereقَوْمًاqawmana peopleفَاسِقِينَfāsiqīnadefiantly disobedient
  47. 47وَالسَّمَاءَwal-samāaAnd the HeavenبَنَيْنَاهَاbanaynāhāWe constructed itبِأَيْدٍbi-aydinwith strengthوَإِنَّاwa-innāand indeed Weلَمُوسِعُونَlamūsiʿūna(are) surely (its) Expanders
  48. 48وَالْأَرْضَwal-arḍaAnd the earthفَرَشْنَاهَاfarashnāhāWe have spread itفَنِعْمَfaniʿ'mahow excellentالْمَاهِدُونَl-māhidūna(are) the Spreaders
  49. 49وَمِنْwaminAnd ofكُلِّkullieveryشَيْءٍshayinthingخَلَقْنَاkhalaqnāWe have createdزَوْجَيْنِzawjaynipairsلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتَذَكَّرُونَtadhakkarūnaremember
  50. 50فَفِرُّواfafirrūSo fleeإِلَىilātoاللَّهِl-lahiAllahإِنِّيinnīindeed I amلَكُمْlakumto youمِنْهُmin'hufrom Himنَذِيرٌnadhīruna warnerمُبِينٌmubīnunclear
  51. 51وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَجْعَلُواtajʿalūmakeمَعَmaʿawithاللَّهِl-lahiAllahإِلَهًاilāhangodءَاخَرَākharaanotherإِنِّيinnīIndeed I amلَكُمْlakumto youمِنْهُmin'hufrom Himنَذِيرٌnadhīruna warnerمُبِينٌmubīnunclear
  52. 52كَذَلِكَkadhālikaLikewiseمَاnotأَتَىatācameالَّذِينَalladhīna(to) thoseمِنْminbefore themقَبْلِهِمْqablihimbefore themمِنْminanyرَسُولٍrasūlinMessengerإِلَّاillābutقَالُواqālūthey saidسَاحِرٌsāḥirunA magicianأَوْaworمَجْنُونٌmajnūnuna madman
  53. 53أَتَوَاصَوْاatawāṣawHave they transmitted it to themبِهِbihiHave they transmitted it to themبَلْbalNayهُمْhumtheyقَوْمٌqawmun(are) a peopleطَاغُونَṭāghūnatransgressing
  54. 54فَتَوَلَّfatawallaSo turn awayعَنْهُمْʿanhumfrom themفَمَاfamāfor notأَنْتَantayouبِمَلُومٍbimalūmin(are) to be blamed
  55. 55وَذَكِّرْwadhakkirAnd remindفَإِنَّfa-innafor indeedالذِّكْرَىl-dhik'rāthe reminderتَنْفَعُtanfaʿubenefitsالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
  56. 56وَمَاwamāAnd notخَلَقْتُkhalaqtuI have createdالْجِنَّl-jinathe jinnوَالْإِنْسَwal-insaand the mankindإِلَّاillāexceptلِيَعْبُدُونِliyaʿbudūnithat they worship Me
  57. 57مَاNotأُرِيدُurīduI wantمِنْهُمْmin'humfrom themمِنْminanyرِزْقٍriz'qinprovisionوَمَاwamāand notأُرِيدُurīduI wantأَنْanthatيُطْعِمُونِyuṭ'ʿimūnithey (should) feed Me
  58. 58إِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahهُوَhuwaHeالرَّزَّاقُl-razāqu(is) the All-ProviderذُوdhūPossessorالْقُوَّةِl-quwati(of) Powerالْمَتِينُl-matīnuthe Strong
  59. 59فَإِنَّfa-innaSo indeedلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnafor those whoظَلَمُواẓalamūdo wrongذَنُوبًاdhanūban(is) a portionمِثْلَmith'lalikeذَنُوبِdhanūbi(the) portionأَصْحَابِهِمْaṣḥābihim(of) their companionsفَلَاfalāso let them not ask Me to hastenيَسْتَعْجِلُونِyastaʿjilūniso let them not ask Me to hasten
  60. 60فَوَيْلٌfawaylunThen woeلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveمِنْminfromيَوْمِهِمُyawmihimutheir Dayالَّذِيalladhīwhichيُوعَدُونَyūʿadūnathey are promised
