بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 46 — Al-Ahqaf

  1. 1حمٓha-meemHa Meem
  2. 2تَنْزِيلُtanzīlu(The) revelationالْكِتَابِl-kitābi(of) the Bookمِنَmina(is) fromاللَّهِl-lahiAllahالْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzithe All-Mightyالْحَكِيمِl-ḥakīmithe All-Wise
  3. 3مَاNotخَلَقْنَاkhalaqnāWe createdالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthوَمَاwamāand whatبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā(is) between both of themإِلَّاillāexceptبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truthوَأَجَلٍwa-ajalinand (for) a termمُسَمًّىmusammanappointedوَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaBut those whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveعَمَّاʿammāfrom whatأُنْذِرُواundhirūthey are warnedمُعْرِضُونَmuʿ'riḍūna(are) turning away
  4. 4قُلْqulSayأَرَءَيْتُمْara-aytumDo you seeمَاwhatتَدْعُونَtadʿūnayou callمِنْminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesاللَّهِl-lahiAllahأَرُونِيarūnīShow meمَاذَاmādhāwhatخَلَقُواkhalaqūthey have createdمِنَminaofالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthأَمْamorلَهُمْlahumfor themشِرْكٌshir'kun(is) any shareفِيinالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensائْتُونِيi'tūnīBring meبِكِتَابٍbikitābina bookمِنْminfromقَبْلِqablibeforeهَذَاhādhāthisأَوْaworأَثَارَةٍathāratintracesمِنْminofعِلْمٍʿil'minknowledgeإِنْinifكُنْتُمْkuntumyou areصَادِقِينَṣādiqīnatruthful
  5. 5وَمَنْwamanAnd whoأَضَلُّaḍallu(is) more astrayمِمَّنْmimmanthan (he) whoيَدْعُواyadʿūcallsمِنْminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesاللَّهِl-lahiAllahمَنْmanwhoلَاwill not respondيَسْتَجِيبُyastajībuwill not respondلَهُlahuto himإِلَىilāuntilيَوْمِyawmi(the) Dayالْقِيَامَةِl-qiyāmati(of) Resurrectionوَهُمْwahumand theyعَنْʿanofدُعَائِهِمْduʿāihimtheir callsغَافِلُونَghāfilūna(are) unaware
  6. 6وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenحُشِرَḥushiraare gatheredالنَّاسُl-nāsuthe peopleكَانُواkānūthey will beلَهُمْlahumfor themأَعْدَاءًaʿdāanenemiesوَكَانُواwakānūand they will beبِعِبَادَتِهِمْbiʿibādatihimof their worshipكَافِرِينَkāfirīnadeniers
  7. 7وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenتُتْلَىtut'lāare recitedعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themءَايَاتُنَاāyātunāOur Versesبَيِّنَاتٍbayyinātinclearقَالَqālasayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveلِلْحَقِّlil'ḥaqqiof the truthلَمَّاlammāwhenجَاءَهُمْjāahumit comes to themهَذَاhādhāThisسِحْرٌsiḥ'run(is) a magicمُبِينٌmubīnunclear
  8. 8أَمْamOrيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnathey sayافْتَرَاهُif'tarāhuHe has invented itقُلْqulSayإِنِiniIfافْتَرَيْتُهُif'taraytuhuI have invented itفَلَاfalāthen notتَمْلِكُونَtamlikūnayou have powerلِيfor meمِنَminaagainstاللَّهِl-lahiAllahشَيْئًاshayananythingهُوَhuwaHeأَعْلَمُaʿlamuknows bestبِمَاbimāof whatتُفِيضُونَtufīḍūnayou utterفِيهِfīhiconcerning itكَفَىkafāSufficient is HeبِهِbihiSufficient is Heشَهِيدًاshahīdan(as) a Witnessبَيْنِيbaynībetween meوَبَيْنَكُمْwabaynakumand between youوَهُوَwahuwaand Heالْغَفُورُl-ghafūru(is) the Oft-Forgivingالرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
  9. 9قُلْqulSayمَاNotكُنْتُkuntuI amبِدْعًاbid'ʿana new (one)مِنَminaamongالرُّسُلِl-rusulithe Messengersوَمَاwamāand notأَدْرِيadrīI knowمَاwhatيُفْعَلُyuf'ʿaluwill be doneبِيwith meوَلَاwalāand notبِكُمْbikumwith youإِنْinNotأَتَّبِعُattabiʿuI followإِلَّاillābutمَاwhatيُوحَىyūḥāis revealedإِلَيَّilayyato meوَمَاwamāand notأَنَاanāI amإِلَّاillābutنَذِيرٌnadhīruna warnerمُبِينٌmubīnunclear
  10. 10قُلْqulSayأَرَءَيْتُمْara-aytumDo you seeإِنْinifكَانَkānait isمِنْminfrom Allahعِنْدِʿindifrom Allahاللَّهِl-lahifrom Allahوَكَفَرْتُمْwakafartumand you disbelieveبِهِbihiin itوَشَهِدَwashahidaand testifiesشَاهِدٌshāhiduna witnessمِنْminfromبَنِيbanī(the) Children of Israelإِسْرَاءِيلَis'rāīla(the) Children of Israelعَلَىʿalātoمِثْلِهِmith'lihi(the) like thereofفَءَامَنَfaāmanathen he believedوَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْwa-is'takbartumwhile you are arrogantإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَا(does) notيَهْدِيyahdīguideالْقَوْمَl-qawmathe peopleالظَّالِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
  11. 11وَقَالَwaqālaAnd sayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnaof those whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveلَوْlawIfكَانَkānait had beenخَيْرًاkhayrangoodمَاnotسَبَقُونَاsabaqūnāthey (would) have preceded usإِلَيْهِilayhito itوَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenلَمْlamnotيَهْتَدُواyahtadūthey (are) guidedبِهِbihiby itفَسَيَقُولُونَfasayaqūlūnathey sayهَذَاhādhāThisإِفْكٌif'kun(is) a lieقَدِيمٌqadīmunancient
  12. 12وَمِنْwaminAnd before itقَبْلِهِqablihiAnd before itكِتَابُkitābu(was the) Scriptureمُوسَىmūsā(of) Musaإِمَامًاimāman(as) a guideوَرَحْمَةًwaraḥmatanand a mercyوَهَذَاwahādhāAnd thisكِتَابٌkitābun(is) a Bookمُصَدِّقٌmuṣaddiqunconfirmingلِسَانًاlisānan(in) languageعَرَبِيًّاʿarabiyyanArabicلِيُنْذِرَliyundhirato warnالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoظَلَمُواẓalamūdo wrongوَبُشْرَىwabush'rāand (as) a glad tidingsلِلْمُحْسِنِينَlil'muḥ'sinīnafor the good-doers
  13. 13إِنَّinnaIndeedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoقَالُواqālūsayرَبُّنَاrabbunāOur Lordاللَّهُl-lahu(is) Allahثُمَّthummathenاسْتَقَامُواis'taqāmūremain firmفَلَاfalāthen noخَوْفٌkhawfunfearعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimon themوَلَاwalāand norهُمْhumtheyيَحْزَنُونَyaḥzanūnawill grieve
  14. 14أُولَئِكَulāikaThoseأَصْحَابُaṣḥābu(are the) companionsالْجَنَّةِl-janati(of) Paradiseخَالِدِينَkhālidīnaabiding foreverفِيهَاfīhāthereinجَزَاءًjazāana rewardبِمَاbimāfor whatكَانُواkānūthey used (to)يَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
  15. 15وَوَصَّيْنَاwawaṣṣaynāAnd We have enjoinedالْإِنْسَانَl-insāna(on) manبِوَالِدَيْهِbiwālidayhito his parentsإِحْسَانًاiḥ'sānankindnessحَمَلَتْهُḥamalathuCarried himأُمُّهُummuhuhis motherكُرْهًاkur'han(with) hardshipوَوَضَعَتْهُwawaḍaʿathuand gave birth to himكُرْهًاkur'han(with) hardshipوَحَمْلُهُwaḥamluhuAnd (the) bearing of himوَفِصَالُهُwafiṣāluhuand (the) weaning of himثَلَاثُونَthalāthūna(is) thirtyشَهْرًاshahranmonth(s)حَتَّىḥattāuntilإِذَاidhāwhenبَلَغَbalaghahe reachesأَشُدَّهُashuddahuhis maturityوَبَلَغَwabalaghaand reachesأَرْبَعِينَarbaʿīnafortyسَنَةًsanatanyear(s)قَالَqālahe saysرَبِّrabbiMy Lordأَوْزِعْنِيawziʿ'nīgrant me (the) powerأَنْanthatأَشْكُرَashkuraI may be gratefulنِعْمَتَكَniʿ'mataka(for) Your favorالَّتِيallatīwhichأَنْعَمْتَanʿamtaYou have bestowedعَلَيَّʿalayyaupon meوَعَلَىwaʿalāand uponوَالِدَيَّwālidayyamy parentsوَأَنْwa-anand thatأَعْمَلَaʿmalaI doصَالِحًاṣāliḥanrighteous (deeds)تَرْضَاهُtarḍāhuwhich please Youوَأَصْلِحْwa-aṣliḥand make righteousلِيfor meفِيamongذُرِّيَّتِيdhurriyyatīmy offspringإِنِّيinnīindeedتُبْتُtub'tuI turnإِلَيْكَilaykato Youوَإِنِّيwa-innīand indeed I amمِنَminaofالْمُسْلِمِينَl-mus'limīnathose who submit
  16. 16أُولَئِكَulāikaThoseالَّذِينَalladhīna(are) the onesنَتَقَبَّلُnataqabbaluWe will acceptعَنْهُمْʿanhumfrom themأَحْسَنَaḥsana(the) bestمَا(of) whatعَمِلُواʿamilūthey didوَنَتَجاوَزُwanatajāwazuand We will overlookعَنْʿanfromسَيِّئَاتِهِمْsayyiātihimtheir evil deedsفِيamongأَصْحَابِaṣḥābi(the) companionsالْجَنَّةِl-janati(of) ParadiseوَعْدَwaʿdaA promiseالصِّدْقِl-ṣid'qitrueالَّذِيalladhīwhichكَانُواkānūthey wereيُوعَدُونَyūʿadūnapromised
  17. 17وَالَّذِيwa-alladhīBut the one whoقَالَqālasaysلِوَالِدَيْهِliwālidayhito his parentsأُفٍّuffinUffلَكُمَاlakumāto both of youأَتَعِدَانِنِيataʿidāninīDo you promise meأَنْanthatأُخْرَجَukh'rajaI will be brought forthوَقَدْwaqadand have already passed awayخَلَتِkhalatiand have already passed awayالْقُرُونُl-qurūnuthe generationsمِنْminbefore meقَبْلِيqablībefore meوَهُمَاwahumāAnd they bothيَسْتَغِيثَانِyastaghīthāniseek helpاللَّهَl-laha(of) AllahوَيْلَكَwaylakaWoe to youءَامِنْāminBelieveإِنَّinnaIndeedوَعْدَwaʿda(the) Promiseاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahحَقٌّḥaqqun(is) trueفَيَقُولُfayaqūluBut he saysمَاNotهَذَاhādhā(is) thisإِلَّاillābutأَسَاطِيرُasāṭīru(the) storiesالْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the former (people)
  18. 18أُولَئِكَulāikaThoseالَّذِينَalladhīna(are) the onesحَقَّḥaqqa(has) proved trueعَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimuagainst themالْقَوْلُl-qawluthe wordفِيamongأُمَمٍumaminnationsقَدْqad(that) already passed awayخَلَتْkhalat(that) already passed awayمِنْminbefore themقَبْلِهِمْqablihimbefore themمِنَminaofالْجِنِّl-jini(the) jinnوَالْإِنْسِwal-insiand the menإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, theyكَانُواkānūareخَاسِرِينَkhāsirīna(the) losers
  19. 19وَلِكُلٍّwalikullinAnd for allدَرَجَاتٌdarajātun(are) degreesمِمَّاmimmāfor whatعَمِلُواʿamilūthey didوَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمْwaliyuwaffiyahumand that He may fully compensate themأَعْمَالَهُمْaʿmālahum(for) their deedsوَهُمْwahumand theyلَاwill not be wrongedيُظْلَمُونَyuẓ'lamūnawill not be wronged
  20. 20وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) Dayيُعْرَضُyuʿ'raḍuwill be exposedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedعَلَىʿalātoالنَّارِl-nārithe FireأَذْهَبْتُمْadhhabtumYou exhaustedطَيِّبَاتِكُمْṭayyibātikumyour good thingsفِيinحَيَاتِكُمُḥayātikumuyour lifeالدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the worldوَاسْتَمْتَعْتُمْwa-is'tamtaʿtumand you took your pleasuresبِهَاbihāthereinفَالْيَوْمَfal-yawmaSo todayتُجْزَوْنَtuj'zawnayou will be recompensedعَذَابَʿadhāba(with) a punishmentالْهُونِl-hūnihumiliatingبِمَاbimābecauseكُنْتُمْkuntumyou wereتَسْتَكْبِرُونَtastakbirūnaarrogantفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthبِغَيْرِbighayriwithoutالْحَقِّl-ḥaqi[the] rightوَبِمَاwabimāand becauseكُنْتُمْkuntumyou wereتَفْسُقُونَtafsuqūnadefiantly disobedient
  21. 21وَاذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mentionأَخَاakhā(the) brotherعَادٍʿādin(of) Aadإِذْidhwhenأَنْذَرَandharahe warnedقَوْمَهُqawmahuhis peopleبِالْأَحْقَافِbil-aḥqāfiin the Al-Ahqafوَقَدْwaqadand had already passed awayخَلَتِkhalatiand had already passed awayالنُّذُرُl-nudhuru[the] warnersمِنْminbefore himبَيْنِbaynibefore himيَدَيْهِyadayhibefore himوَمِنْwaminand after himخَلْفِهِkhalfihiand after himأَلَّاallāThat notتَعْبُدُواtaʿbudūyou worshipإِلَّاillāexceptاللَّهَl-lahaAllahإِنِّيinnīIndeed, Iأَخَافُakhāfu[I] fearعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumfor youعَذَابَʿadhābaa punishmentيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a DayعَظِيمٍʿaẓīminGreat
  22. 22قَالُواqālūThey saidأَجِئْتَنَاaji'tanāHave you come to usلِتَأْفِكَنَاlitafikanāto turn us awayعَنْʿanfromءَالِهَتِنَاālihatināour godsفَأْتِنَاfatināThen bring usبِمَاbimāwhatتَعِدُنَاtaʿidunāyou threaten usإِنْinifكُنْتَkuntayou areمِنَminaofالصَّادِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
  23. 23قَالَqālaHe saidإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyالْعِلْمُl-ʿil'muthe knowledgeعِنْدَʿinda(is) with Allahاللَّهِl-lahi(is) with Allahوَأُبَلِّغُكُمْwa-uballighukumand I convey to youمَاwhatأُرْسِلْتُur'sil'tuI am sentبِهِbihiwith itوَلَكِنِّيwalākinnībutأَرَاكُمْarākumI see youقَوْمًاqawmana peopleتَجْهَلُونَtajhalūnaignorant
  24. 24فَلَمَّاfalammāThen whenرَأَوْهُra-awhuthey saw itعَارِضًاʿāriḍan(as) a cloudمُسْتَقْبِلَmus'taqbilaapproachingأَوْدِيَتِهِمْawdiyatihimtheir valleysقَالُواqālūthey saidهَذَاhādhāThisعَارِضٌʿāriḍun(is) a cloudمُمْطِرُنَاmum'ṭirunābringing us rainبَلْbalNayهُوَhuwaitمَا(is) whatاسْتَعْجَلْتُمْis'taʿjaltumyou were asking it to be hastenedبِهِbihiyou were asking it to be hastenedرِيحٌrīḥuna windفِيهَاfīhāin itعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentأَلِيمٌalīmunpainful
  25. 25تُدَمِّرُtudammiruDestroyingكُلَّkullaeveryشَيْءٍshayinthingبِأَمْرِbi-amriby (the) commandرَبِّهَاrabbihā(of) its Lordفَأَصْبَحُواfa-aṣbaḥūThen they became (such)لَاnotيُرَىyurāis seenإِلَّاillāexceptمَسَاكِنُهُمْmasākinuhumtheir dwellingsكَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusنَجْزِيnajzīWe recompenseالْقَوْمَl-qawmathe peopleالْمُجْرِمِينَl-muj'rimīna[the] criminals
  26. 26وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyمَكَّنَّاهُمْmakkannāhumWe had established themفِيمَاfīmāin whatإِنْinnotمَكَّنَّاكُمْmakkannākumWe have established youفِيهِfīhiin itوَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāand We madeلَهُمْlahumfor themسَمْعًاsamʿanhearingوَأَبْصَارًاwa-abṣāranand visionوَأَفْئِدَةًwa-afidatanand heartsفَمَاfamāBut notأَغْنَىaghnāavailedعَنْهُمْʿanhumthemسَمْعُهُمْsamʿuhumtheir hearingوَلَاwalāand notأَبْصَارُهُمْabṣāruhumtheir visionوَلَاwalāand notأَفْئِدَتُهُمْafidatuhumtheir heartsمِنْminanyشَيْءٍshayinthingإِذْidhwhenكَانُواkānūthey wereيَجْحَدُونَyajḥadūnarejectingبِءَايَاتِbiāyāti(the) Signsاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَحَاقَwaḥāqaand envelopedبِهِمْbihimthemمَاwhatكَانُواkānūthey used (to)بِهِbihi[at it]يَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūnaridicule
  27. 27وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyأَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe destroyedمَاwhatحَوْلَكُمْḥawlakumsurrounds youمِنَminaofالْقُرَىl-qurāthe townsوَصَرَّفْنَاwaṣarrafnāand We have diversifiedالْءَايَاتِl-āyātithe Signsلَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumthat they mayيَرْجِعُونَyarjiʿūnareturn
  28. 28فَلَوْلَاfalawlāThen why (did) notنَصَرَهُمُnaṣarahumuhelp themالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whomاتَّخَذُواittakhadhūthey had takenمِنْminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesاللَّهِl-lahiAllahقُرْبَانًاqur'bānangods as a way of approachءَالِهَةًālihatangods as a way of approachبَلْbalNayضَلُّواḍallūthey were lostعَنْهُمْʿanhumfrom themوَذَلِكَwadhālikaAnd thatإِفْكُهُمْif'kuhum(was) their falsehoodوَمَاwamāand whatكَانُواkānūthey wereيَفْتَرُونَyaftarūnainventing
  29. 29وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenصَرَفْنَاṣarafnāWe directedإِلَيْكَilaykato youنَفَرًاnafarana partyمِنَminaofالْجِنِّl-jinithe jinnيَسْتَمِعُونَyastamiʿūnalisteningالْقُرْءَانَl-qur'āna(to) the QuranفَلَمَّاfalammāAnd whenحَضَرُوهُḥaḍarūhuthey attended itقَالُواqālūthey saidأَنْصِتُواanṣitūListen quietlyفَلَمَّاfalammāAnd whenقُضِيَquḍiyait was concludedوَلَّوْاwallawthey turned backإِلَىilātoقَوْمِهِمْqawmihimtheir peopleمُنْذِرِينَmundhirīna(as) warners
  30. 30قَالُواqālūThey saidيَاقَوْمَنَاyāqawmanāO our peopleإِنَّاinnāIndeed, weسَمِعْنَاsamiʿ'nā[we] have heardكِتَابًاkitābana BookأُنْزِلَunzilarevealedمِنْminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterمُوسَىmūsāMusaمُصَدِّقًاmuṣaddiqanconfirmingلِمَاlimāwhatبَيْنَbayna(was) before itيَدَيْهِyadayhi(was) before itيَهْدِيyahdīguidingإِلَىilātoالْحَقِّl-ḥaqithe truthوَإِلَىwa-ilāand toطَرِيقٍṭarīqina Pathمُسْتَقِيمٍmus'taqīminStraight
  31. 31يَاقَوْمَنَاyāqawmanāO our people!أَجِيبُواajībūRespondدَاعِيَdāʿiya(to the) callerاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَءَامِنُواwaāminūand believeبِهِbihiin himيَغْفِرْyaghfirHe will forgiveلَكُمْlakumfor youمِنْminofذُنُوبِكُمْdhunūbikumyour sinsوَيُجِرْكُمْwayujir'kumand will protect youمِنْminfromعَذَابٍʿadhābina punishmentأَلِيمٍalīminpainful
  32. 32وَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverلَا(does) notيُجِبْyujibrespondدَاعِيَdāʿiya(to the) callerاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahفَلَيْسَfalaysathen notبِمُعْجِزٍbimuʿ'jizinhe can escapeفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَلَيْسَwalaysaand notلَهُlahufor himمِنْminbesides Himدُونِهِdūnihibesides HimأَوْلِيَاءُawliyāuprotectorsأُولَئِكَulāikaThoseفِي(are) inضَلَالٍḍalālinerrorمُبِينٍmubīninclear
  33. 33أَوَلَمْawalamDo notيَرَوْاyarawthey seeأَنَّannathatاللَّهَl-lahaAllahالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthوَلَمْwalamand (did) notيَعْيَyaʿyaget tiredبِخَلْقِهِنَّbikhalqihinnaby their creationبِقَادِرٍbiqādirin(is) ableعَلَىʿalāto give lifeأَنْanto give lifeيُحْيِيَyuḥ'yiyato give lifeالْمَوْتَىl-mawtā(to) the deadبَلَىbalāYesإِنَّهُinnahuindeed Heعَلَىʿalā(is) onكُلِّkullieveryشَيْءٍshayinthingقَدِيرٌqadīrunAll-Powerful
  34. 34وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) Dayيُعْرَضُyuʿ'raḍuare exposedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedعَلَىʿalātoالنَّارِl-nārithe FireأَلَيْسَalaysaIs notهَذَاhādhāthisبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqithe truthقَالُواqālūThey will sayبَلَىbalāYesوَرَبِّنَاwarabbināby our LordقَالَqālaHe will sayفَذُوقُواfadhūqūThen tasteالْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentبِمَاbimābecauseكُنْتُمْkuntumyou used (to)تَكْفُرُونَtakfurūnadisbelieve
  35. 35فَاصْبِرْfa-iṣ'birSo be patientكَمَاkamāasصَبَرَṣabarahad patienceأُولُواulūthose of determinationالْعَزْمِl-ʿazmithose of determinationمِنَminaofالرُّسُلِl-rusulithe Messengersوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَسْتَعْجِلْtastaʿjilseek to hastenلَهُمْlahumfor themكَأَنَّهُمْka-annahumAs if they hadيَوْمَyawma(the) Dayيَرَوْنَyarawnathey seeمَاwhatيُوعَدُونَyūʿadūnathey were promisedلَمْlamnotيَلْبَثُواyalbathūremainedإِلَّاillāexceptسَاعَةًsāʿatanan hourمِنْminofنَهَارٍnahārina dayبَلَاغٌbalāghunA clear MessageفَهَلْfahalBut willيُهْلَكُyuh'laku(any) be destroyedإِلَّاillāexceptالْقَوْمُl-qawmuthe peopleالْفَاسِقُونَl-fāsiqūnathe defiantly disobedient
