1. 1حمٓha-meemHa Mim
2. 2تَنْزِيلُtanzīlu(The) revelationالْكِتَابِl-kitābi(of) the Bookمِنَmina(is) fromاللَّهِl-lahiAllahالْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzithe All-Mightyالْعَلِيمِl-ʿalīmithe All-Knower
3. 3غَافِرِghāfiri(The) Forgiverالذَّنْبِl-dhanbi(of) the sinوَقَابِلِwaqābiliand (the) Acceptorالتَّوْبِl-tawbi(of) [the] repentanceشَدِيدِshadīdisevereالْعِقَابِl-ʿiqābi(in) the punishmentذِيdhīOwner ofالطَّوْلِl-ṭawlithe abundanceلَاlā(There is) noإِلَهَilāhagodإِلَّاillāexceptهُوَhuwaHimإِلَيْهِilayhito Himالْمَصِيرُl-maṣīru(is) the final return
4. 4مَاmāNotيُجَادِلُyujādiludisputeفِيfīconcerningءَايَاتِāyāti(the) Versesاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahإِلَّاillāexceptالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveفَلَاfalāso (let) notيَغْرُرْكَyaghrur'kadeceive youتَقَلُّبُهُمْtaqallubuhumtheir movementفِيfīinالْبِلَادِl-bilādithe cities
5. 5كَذَّبَتْkadhabatDeniedقَبْلَهُمْqablahumbefore themقَوْمُqawmu(the) peopleنُوحٍnūḥin(of) Nuhوَالْأَحْزَابُwal-aḥzābuand the factionsمِنْminafter themبَعْدِهِمْbaʿdihimafter themوَهَمَّتْwahammatand plottedكُلُّkullueveryأُمَّةٍummatinnationبِرَسُولِهِمْbirasūlihimagainst their Messengerلِيَأْخُذُوهُliyakhudhūhuto seize himوَجَادَلُواwajādalūand they disputedبِالْبَاطِلِbil-bāṭiliby falsehoodلِيُدْحِضُواliyud'ḥiḍūto refuteبِهِbihitherebyالْحَقَّl-ḥaqathe truthفَأَخَذْتُهُمْfa-akhadhtuhumSo I seized themفَكَيْفَfakayfaThen howكَانَkānawasعِقَابِʿiqābiMy penalty
6. 6وَكَذَلِكَwakadhālikaAnd thusحَقَّتْḥaqqathas been justifiedكَلِمَتُkalimatu(the) Wordرَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lordعَلَىʿalāagainstالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedأَنَّهُمْannahumthat theyأَصْحَابُaṣḥābu(are) companionsالنَّارِl-nāri(of) the Fire
7. 7الَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoيَحْمِلُونَyaḥmilūnabearالْعَرْشَl-ʿarshathe Throneوَمَنْwamanand thoseحَوْلَهُḥawlahuaround itيُسَبِّحُونَyusabbiḥūnaglorifyبِحَمْدِbiḥamdi(the) praisesرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lordوَيُؤْمِنُونَwayu'minūnaand believeبِهِbihiin Himوَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَwayastaghfirūnaand ask forgivenessلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnafor those whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveرَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lord!وَسِعْتَwasiʿ'taYou encompassكُلَّkullaallشَيْءٍshayinthingsرَحْمَةًraḥmatan(by Your) Mercyوَعِلْمًاwaʿil'manand knowledgeفَاغْفِرْfa-igh'firso forgiveلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnathose whoتَابُواtābūrepentوَاتَّبَعُواwa-ittabaʿūand followسَبِيلَكَsabīlakaYour Wayوَقِهِمْwaqihimand save them (from)عَذَابَʿadhāba(the) punishmentالْجَحِيمِl-jaḥīmi(of) the Hellfire
8. 8رَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lord!وَأَدْخِلْهُمْwa-adkhil'humAnd admit themجَنَّاتِjannāti(to) Gardensعَدْنٍʿadnin(of) EdenالَّتِيallatīwhichوَعَدْتَهُمْwaʿadttahumYou have promised themوَمَنْwamanand whoeverصَلَحَṣalaḥa(was) righteousمِنْminamongءَابَائِهِمْābāihimtheir fathersوَأَزْوَاجِهِمْwa-azwājihimand their spousesوَذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْwadhurriyyātihimand their offspringإِنَّكَinnakaIndeed YouأَنْتَantaYouالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(are) the All-Mightyالْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
9. 9وَقِهِمُwaqihimuAnd protect themالسَّيِّئَاتِl-sayiāti(from) the evilsوَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverتَقِtaqiyou protectالسَّيِّئَاتِl-sayiāti(from) the evilsيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhin(that) Dayفَقَدْfaqadthen verilyرَحِمْتَهُraḥim'tahuYou bestowed Mercy on himوَذَلِكَwadhālikaAnd thatهُوَhuwa[it]الْفَوْزُl-fawzu(is) the successالْعَظِيمُl-ʿaẓīmuthe great
10. 10إِنَّinnaIndeedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedيُنَادَوْنَyunādawnawill be cried out to themلَمَقْتُlamaqtu(Allah's) hatredاللَّهِl-lahiAllah's (hatred)أَكْبَرُakbaru(was) greaterمِنْminthanمَقْتِكُمْmaqtikumyour hatredأَنْفُسَكُمْanfusakum(of) yourselvesإِذْidhwhenتُدْعَوْنَtud'ʿawnayou were calledإِلَىilātoالْإِيمَانِl-īmānithe faithفَتَكْفُرُونَfatakfurūnaand you disbelieved
11. 11قَالُواqālūThey (will) sayرَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lord!أَمَتَّنَاamattanāYou gave us deathاثْنَتَيْنِith'nataynitwiceوَأَحْيَيْتَنَاwa-aḥyaytanāand You gave us lifeاثْنَتَيْنِith'nataynitwiceفَاعْتَرَفْنَاfa-iʿ'tarafnāand we confessبِذُنُوبِنَاbidhunūbināour sinsفَهَلْfahalSo is (there)إِلَىilātoخُرُوجٍkhurūjinget outمِنْminanyسَبِيلٍsabīlinway
12. 12ذَلِكُمْdhālikumThatبِأَنَّهُbi-annahu(is) becauseإِذَاidhāwhenدُعِيَduʿiyaAllah was invokedاللَّهُl-lahuAllah was invokedوَحْدَهُwaḥdahuAloneكَفَرْتُمْkafartumyou disbelievedوَإِنْwa-inbut ifيُشْرَكْyush'rak(others) were associatedبِهِbihiwith Himتُؤْمِنُواtu'minūyou believedفَالْحُكْمُfal-ḥuk'muSo the judgmentلِلَّهِlillahi(is) with Allahالْعَلِيِّl-ʿaliyithe Most Highالْكَبِيرِl-kabīrithe Most Great
13. 13هُوَhuwaHeالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoيُرِيكُمْyurīkumshows youءَايَاتِهِāyātihiHis Signsوَيُنَزِّلُwayunazziluand sends downلَكُمْlakumfor youمِنَminafromالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe skyرِزْقًاriz'qanprovisionوَمَاwamāBut (does) notيَتَذَكَّرُyatadhakkarutake heedإِلَّاillāexceptمَنْman(one) whoيُنِيبُyunībuturns
14. 14فَادْعُواfa-id'ʿūSo invokeاللَّهَl-lahaAllahمُخْلِصِينَmukh'liṣīna(being) sincereلَهُlahuto Himالدِّينَl-dīna(in) the religionوَلَوْwalaweven thoughكَرِهَkarihadislike (it)الْكَافِرُونَl-kāfirūnathe disbelievers
15. 15رَفِيعُrafīʿuPossessor of the Highest Ranksالدَّرَجَاتِl-darajātiPossessor of the Highest RanksذُوdhūOwner ofالْعَرْشِl-ʿarshithe Throneيُلْقِيyul'qīHe placesالرُّوحَl-rūḥathe inspirationمِنْminbyأَمْرِهِamrihiHis CommandعَلَىʿalāuponمَنْmanwhomيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsمِنْminofعِبَادِهِʿibādihiHis slavesلِيُنْذِرَliyundhirato warnيَوْمَyawma(of the) Dayالتَّلَاقِl-talāqi(of) the Meeting
16. 16يَوْمَyawma(The) Dayهُمْhumtheyبَارِزُونَbārizūnacome forthلَاlānotيَخْفَىyakhfāis hiddenعَلَىʿalāfromاللَّهِl-lahiAllahمِنْهُمْmin'humabout themشَيْءٌshayonanythingلِمَنِlimaniFor whomالْمُلْكُl-mul'ku(is) the Dominionالْيَوْمَl-yawmathis DayلِلَّهِlillahiFor Allahالْوَاحِدِl-wāḥidithe Oneالْقَهَّارِl-qahārithe Irresistible
17. 17الْيَوْمَal-yawmaThis Dayتُجْزَىtuj'zāwill be recompensedكُلُّkullueveryنَفْسٍnafsinsoulبِمَاbimāfor whatكَسَبَتْkasabatit earnedلَاlāNoظُلْمَẓul'mainjusticeالْيَوْمَl-yawmatoday!إِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahسَرِيعُsarīʿu(is) Swiftالْحِسَابِl-ḥisābi(in) Account
18. 18وَأَنْذِرْهُمْwa-andhir'humAnd warn themيَوْمَyawma(of the) Dayالْءَازِفَةِl-āzifatithe Approachingإِذِidhiwhenالْقُلُوبُl-qulūbuthe heartsلَدَىladā(are) atالْحَنَاجِرِl-ḥanājirithe throatsكَاظِمِينَkāẓimīnachokedمَاmāNotلِلظَّالِمِينَlilẓẓālimīnafor the wrongdoersمِنْminanyحَمِيمٍḥamīminintimate friendوَلَاwalāand noشَفِيعٍshafīʿinintercessorيُطَاعُyuṭāʿu(who) is obeyed
19. 19يَعْلَمُyaʿlamuHe knowsخَائِنَةَkhāinata(the) stealthy glanceالْأَعْيُنِl-aʿyuni(the) stealthy glanceوَمَاwamāand whatتُخْفِيtukh'fīconcealالصُّدُورُl-ṣudūruthe breasts
20. 20وَاللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahيَقْضِيyaqḍījudgesبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truthوَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnawhile those (whom)يَدْعُونَyadʿūnathey invokeمِنْminbesides Himدُونِهِdūnihibesides Himلَاlānotيَقْضُونَyaqḍūnathey judgeبِشَيْءٍbishayinwith anythingإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahهُوَhuwaHeالسَّمِيعُl-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearerالْبَصِيرُl-baṣīruthe All-Seer
21. 21أَوَلَمْawalamDo notيَسِيرُواyasīrūthey travelفِيfīinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthفَيَنْظُرُواfayanẓurūand seeكَيْفَkayfahowكَانَkānawasعَاقِبَةُʿāqibatu(the) endالَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoكَانُواkānūwereمِنْminbefore themقَبْلِهِمْqablihimbefore themكَانُواkānūThey wereهُمْhum[they]أَشَدَّashaddasuperiorمِنْهُمْmin'humto themقُوَّةًquwwatan(in) strengthوَءَاثَارًاwaāthāranand (in) impressionsفِيfīinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe landفَأَخَذَهُمُfa-akhadhahumubut Allah seized themاللَّهُl-lahubut Allah seized themبِذُنُوبِهِمْbidhunūbihimfor their sinsوَمَاwamāand notكَانَkānawasلَهُمْlahumfor themمِنَminaagainstاللَّهِl-lahiAllahمِنْminanyوَاقٍwāqinprotector
22. 22ذَلِكَdhālikaThatبِأَنَّهُمْbi-annahum(was) because [they]كَانَتْkānatused to come to themتَأْتِيهِمْtatīhimused to come to themرُسُلُهُمْrusuluhumtheir Messengersبِالْبَيِّنَاتِbil-bayinātiwith clear proofsفَكَفَرُواfakafarūbut they disbelievedفَأَخَذَهُمُfa-akhadhahumuSo Allah seized themاللَّهُl-lahuSo Allah seized themإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed, Heقَوِيٌّqawiyyun(is) All-Strongشَدِيدُshadīdusevereالْعِقَابِl-ʿiqābi(in) punishment
23. 23وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentمُوسَىmūsāMusaبِءَايَاتِنَاbiāyātināwith Our Signsوَسُلْطَانٍwasul'ṭāninand an authorityمُبِينٍmubīninclear
24. 24إِلَىilāToفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawnaFiraunوَهَامَانَwahāmānaHamanوَقَارُونَwaqārūnaand Qarunفَقَالُواfaqālūbut they saidسَاحِرٌsāḥirunA magicianكَذَّابٌkadhābuna liar
25. 25فَلَمَّاfalammāThen whenجَاءَهُمْjāahumhe brought to themبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqithe truthمِنْminfromعِنْدِنَاʿindināUsقَالُواqālūthey saidاقْتُلُواuq'tulūKillأَبْنَاءَabnāa(the) sonsالَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveمَعَهُmaʿahuwith himوَاسْتَحْيُواwa-is'taḥyūand let liveنِسَاءَهُمْnisāahumtheir womenوَمَاwamāAnd notكَيْدُkaydu(is the) plotالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīna(of) the disbelieversإِلَّاillābutفِيfīinضَلَالٍḍalālinerror
26. 26وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidفِرْعَوْنُfir'ʿawnuFiraunذَرُونِيdharūnīLeave meأَقْتُلْaqtul(so that) I killمُوسَىmūsāMusaوَلْيَدْعُwalyadʿuand let him callرَبَّهُrabbahuhis LordإِنِّيinnīIndeed Iأَخَافُakhāfu[I] fearأَنْanthatيُبَدِّلَyubaddilahe will changeدِينَكُمْdīnakumyour religionأَوْaworأَنْanthatيُظْهِرَyuẓ'hirahe may cause to appearفِيfīinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe landالْفَسَادَl-fasādathe corruption
27. 27وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidمُوسَىmūsāMusaإِنِّيinnīIndeed Iعُذْتُʿudh'tu[I] seek refugeبِرَبِّيbirabbīin my Lordوَرَبِّكُمْwarabbikumand your Lordمِنْminfromكُلِّkullieveryمُتَكَبِّرٍmutakabbirinarrogant oneلَاlānotيُؤْمِنُyu'minuwho believesبِيَوْمِbiyawmi(in the) Dayالْحِسَابِl-ḥisābi(of) the Account
28. 28وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidرَجُلٌrajuluna manمُؤْمِنٌmu'minunbelievingمِنْminfromءَالِāli(the) familyفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawna(of) Firaunيَكْتُمُyaktumuwho conceal(ed)إِيمَانَهُīmānahuhis faithأَتَقْتُلُونَataqtulūnaWill you killرَجُلًاrajulana manأَنْanbecauseيَقُولَyaqūlahe saysرَبِّيَrabbiyaMy Lordاللَّهُl-lahu(is) Allahوَقَدْwaqadand indeedجَاءَكُمْjāakumhe has brought youبِالْبَيِّنَاتِbil-bayināticlear proofsمِنْminfromرَبِّكُمْrabbikumyour Lordوَإِنْwa-inAnd ifيَكُyakuhe isكَاذِبًاkādhibana liarفَعَلَيْهِfaʿalayhithen upon himكَذِبُهُkadhibuhu(is) his lieوَإِنْwa-inand ifيَكُyakuhe isصَادِقًاṣādiqantruthfulيُصِبْكُمْyuṣib'kum(there) will strike youبَعْضُbaʿḍusome (of)الَّذِيalladhī(that) whichيَعِدُكُمْyaʿidukumhe threatens youإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَاlā(does) notيَهْدِيyahdīguideمَنْman(one) whoهُوَhuwa[he]مُسْرِفٌmus'rifun(is) a transgressorكَذَّابٌkadhābuna liar
29. 29يَاقَوْمِyāqawmiO my people!لَكُمُlakumuFor youالْمُلْكُl-mul'ku(is) the kingdomالْيَوْمَl-yawmatodayظَاهِرِينَẓāhirīnadominantفِيfīinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe landفَمَنْfamanbut whoيَنْصُرُنَاyanṣurunāwill help usمِنْminfromبَأْسِbasi(the) punishmentاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahإِنْinifجَاءَنَاjāanāit came to usقَالَqālaSaidفِرْعَوْنُfir'ʿawnuFiraunمَاmāNotأُرِيكُمْurīkumI show youإِلَّاillāexceptمَاmāwhatأَرَىarāI seeوَمَاwamāand notأَهْدِيكُمْahdīkumI guide youإِلَّاillāexceptسَبِيلَsabīla(to the) pathالرَّشَادِl-rashādithe right
30. 30وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidالَّذِيalladhī(he) whoءَامَنَāmanabelievedيَاقَوْمِyāqawmiO my people!إِنِّيinnīIndeed Iأَخَافُakhāfu[I] fearعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumfor youمِثْلَmith'lalikeيَوْمِyawmi(the) dayالْأَحْزَابِl-aḥzābi(of) the companies
31. 31مِثْلَmith'laLikeدَأْبِdabi(the) plightقَوْمِqawmi(of the) peopleنُوحٍnūḥin(of) Nuhوَعَادٍwaʿādinand Aadوَثَمُودَwathamūdaand Thamudوَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand thoseمِنْminafter themبَعْدِهِمْbaʿdihimafter themوَمَاwamāAnd Allah (does) notاللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah (does) notيُرِيدُyurīduwantظُلْمًاẓul'maninjusticeلِلْعِبَادِlil'ʿibādifor (His) slaves
32. 32وَيَاقَوْمِwayāqawmiAnd O my people!إِنِّيinnīIndeed Iأَخَافُakhāfu[I] fearعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumfor youيَوْمَyawma(the) Dayالتَّنَادِl-tanādi(of) Calling
33. 33يَوْمَyawmaA Dayتُوَلُّونَtuwallūnayou will turn backمُدْبِرِينَmud'birīnafleeingمَاmānotلَكُمْlakumfor youمِنَminafromاللَّهِl-lahiAllahمِنْminanyعَاصِمٍʿāṣiminprotectorوَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverيُضْلِلِyuḍ'liliAllah lets go astrayاللَّهُl-lahuAllah lets go astrayفَمَاfamāthen notلَهُlahufor himمِنْminanyهَادٍhādinguide
34. 34وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd indeedجَاءَكُمْjāakumcame to youيُوسُفُyūsufuYusufمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeبِالْبَيِّنَاتِbil-bayinātiwith clear proofsفَمَاfamābut notزِلْتُمْzil'tumyou ceasedفِيfīinشَكٍّshakkindoubtمِمَّاmimmāabout whatجَاءَكُمْjāakumhe brought to youبِهِbihi[with it]حَتَّىḥattāuntilإِذَاidhāwhenهَلَكَhalakahe diedقُلْتُمْqul'tumyou saidلَنْlanNeverيَبْعَثَyabʿathawill Allah raiseاللَّهُl-lahuwill Allah raiseمِنْminafter himبَعْدِهِbaʿdihiafter himرَسُولًاrasūlana MessengerكَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusيُضِلُّyuḍilluAllah lets go astrayاللَّهُl-lahuAllah lets go astrayمَنْmanwhoهُوَhuwa[he]مُسْرِفٌmus'rifun(is) a transgressorمُرْتَابٌmur'tābuna doubter
35. 35الَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoيُجَادِلُونَyujādilūnadisputeفِيfīconcerningءَايَاتِāyāti(the) Signsاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahبِغَيْرِbighayriwithoutسُلْطَانٍsul'ṭāninany authorityأَتَاهُمْatāhum(having) come to themكَبُرَkabura(it) is greatlyمَقْتًاmaqtan(in) hatefulعِنْدَʿindanear Allahاللَّهِl-lahinear Allahوَعِنْدَwaʿindaand nearالَّذِينَalladhīnathoseءَامَنُواāmanūwho believeكَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusيَطْبَعُyaṭbaʿuAllah sets a sealاللَّهُl-lahuAllah sets a sealعَلَىʿalāoverكُلِّkullieveryقَلْبِqalbiheartمُتَكَبِّرٍmutakabbirin(of) an arrogantجَبَّارٍjabbārintyrant
36. 36وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidفِرْعَوْنُfir'ʿawnuFiraunيَاهَامَانُyāhāmānuO Haman!ابْنِib'niConstructلِيlīfor meصَرْحًاṣarḥana towerلَعَلِّيlaʿallīthat I mayأَبْلُغُablughureachالْأَسْبَابَl-asbābathe ways
37. 37أَسْبَابَasbāba(The) waysالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwāti(to) the heavensفَأَطَّلِعَfa-aṭṭaliʿaso I may lookإِلَىilāatإِلَهِilāhi(the) Godمُوسَىmūsā(of) Musaوَإِنِّيwa-innīand indeed Iلَأَظُنُّهُla-aẓunnuhu[I] surely think himكَاذِبًاkādhiban(to be) a liarوَكَذَلِكَwakadhālikaAnd thusزُيِّنَzuyyinawas made fair-seemingلِفِرْعَوْنَlifir'ʿawnato Firaunسُوءُsūu(the) evilعَمَلِهِʿamalihi(of) his deedوَصُدَّwaṣuddaand he was avertedعَنِʿanifromالسَّبِيلِl-sabīlithe wayوَمَاwamāAnd notكَيْدُkaydu(was the) plotفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawna(of) Firaunإِلَّاillāexceptفِيfīinتَبَابٍtabābinruin
38. 38وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidالَّذِيalladhīthe one whoءَامَنَāmanabelievedيَاقَوْمِyāqawmiO my people!اتَّبِعُونِittabiʿūniFollow meأَهْدِكُمْahdikumI will guide youسَبِيلَsabīla(to the) wayالرَّشَادِl-rashādithe right
39. 39يَاقَوْمِyāqawmiO my people!إِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyهَذِهِhādhihithisالْحَيَوةُl-ḥayatuthe lifeالدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the worldمَتَاعٌmatāʿun(is) enjoymentوَإِنَّwa-innaand indeedالْءَاخِرَةَl-ākhiratathe Hereafterهِيَhiyaitدَارُdāru(is the) homeالْقَرَارِl-qarāri(of) settlement
40. 40مَنْmanWhoeverعَمِلَʿamiladoesسَيِّئَةًsayyi-atanan evilفَلَاfalāthen notيُجْزَىyuj'zāhe will be recompensedإِلَّاillābutمِثْلَهَاmith'lahā(the) like thereofوَمَنْwamanand whoeverعَمِلَʿamiladoesصَالِحًاṣāliḥanrighteousnessمِنْminwhetherذَكَرٍdhakarinmaleأَوْaworأُنْثَىunthāfemaleوَهُوَwahuwawhile heمُؤْمِنٌmu'minun(is) a believerفَأُولَئِكَfa-ulāikathen thoseيَدْخُلُونَyadkhulūnawill enterالْجَنَّةَl-janataParadiseيُرْزَقُونَyur'zaqūnathey will be given provisionفِيهَاfīhāin itبِغَيْرِbighayriwithoutحِسَابٍḥisābinaccount
41. 41وَيَاقَوْمِwayāqawmiAnd O my people!مَاmāHow (is it)لِيlīfor meأَدْعُوكُمْadʿūkum(that) I call youإِلَىilātoالنَّجَوةِl-najatithe salvationوَتَدْعُونَنِيwatadʿūnanīwhile you call meإِلَىilātoالنَّارِl-nārithe Fire!
42. 42تَدْعُونَنِيtadʿūnanīYou call meلِأَكْفُرَli-akfurathat I disbelieveبِاللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahوَأُشْرِكَwa-ush'rikaand (to) associateبِهِbihiwith Himمَاmāwhatلَيْسَlaysanotلِيlīfor meبِهِbihiof itعِلْمٌʿil'munany knowledgeوَأَنَاwa-anāand Iأَدْعُوكُمْadʿūkumcall youإِلَىilātoالْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzithe All-Mightyالْغَفَّارِl-ghafārithe Oft-Forgiving
43. 43لَاlāNoجَرَمَjaramadoubtأَنَّمَاannamāthat whatتَدْعُونَنِيtadʿūnanīyou call meإِلَيْهِilayhito itلَيْسَlaysanotلَهُlahufor itدَعْوَةٌdaʿwatuna claimفِيfīinالدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāthe worldوَلَاwalāand notفِيfīinالْءَاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe Hereafterوَأَنَّwa-annaand thatمَرَدَّنَاmaraddanāour returnإِلَىilā(is) toاللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَأَنَّwa-annaand thatالْمُسْرِفِينَl-mus'rifīnathe transgressorsهُمْhumtheyأَصْحَابُaṣḥābu(will be the) companionsالنَّارِl-nāri(of) the Fire
44. 44فَسَتَذْكُرُونَfasatadhkurūnaAnd you will rememberمَاmāwhatأَقُولُaqūluI sayلَكُمْlakumto youوَأُفَوِّضُwa-ufawwiḍuand I entrustأَمْرِيamrīmy affairإِلَىilātoاللَّهِl-lahiAllahإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahبَصِيرٌbaṣīrun(is) All-Seerبِالْعِبَادِbil-ʿibādiof (His) slaves
45. 45فَوَقَاهُfawaqāhuSo Allah protected himاللَّهُl-lahuSo Allah protected himسَيِّئَاتِsayyiāti(from the) evilsمَاmāthatمَكَرُواmakarūthey plottedوَحَاقَwaḥāqaand envelopedبِءَالِbiāli(the) peopleفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawna(of) Firaunسُوءُsūu(the) worstالْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābipunishment
46. 46النَّارُal-nāruThe Fireيُعْرَضُونَyuʿ'raḍūnathey are exposedعَلَيْهَاʿalayhāto itغُدُوًّاghuduwwanmorningوَعَشِيًّاwaʿashiyyanand eveningوَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) Dayتَقُومُtaqūmu(will be) establishedالسَّاعَةُl-sāʿatuthe HourأَدْخِلُواadkhilūCause to enterءَالَāla(the) peopleفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawna(of) Firaunأَشَدَّashadda(in the) severestالْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābipunishment
47. 47وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenيَتَحَاجُّونَyataḥājjūnathey will disputeفِيfīinالنَّارِl-nārithe Fireفَيَقُولُfayaqūluthen will sayالضُّعَفَاءُl-ḍuʿafāuthe weakلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoاسْتَكْبَرُواis'takbarūwere arrogantإِنَّاinnāIndeed weكُنَّاkunnā[we] wereلَكُمْlakumfor youتَبَعًاtabaʿanfollowersفَهَلْfahalso canأَنْتُمْantumyouمُغْنُونَmugh'nūnaavertعَنَّاʿannāfrom usنَصِيبًاnaṣībana portionمِنَminaofالنَّارِl-nārithe Fire
48. 48قَالَqālaWill sayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoاسْتَكْبَرُواis'takbarū(were) arrogantإِنَّاinnāIndeed weكُلٌّkullunallفِيهَاfīhā(are) in itإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahقَدْqadcertainlyحَكَمَḥakamahas judgedبَيْنَbaynabetweenالْعِبَادِl-ʿibādi(His) slaves
49. 49وَقَالَwaqālaAnd will sayالَّذِينَalladhīnathoseفِيfīinالنَّارِl-nārithe Fireلِخَزَنَةِlikhazanatito (the) keepersجَهَنَّمَjahannama(of) Hellادْعُواid'ʿūCallرَبَّكُمْrabbakumyour Lordيُخَفِّفْyukhaffif(to) lightenعَنَّاʿannāfor usيَوْمًاyawmana dayمِنَminaofالْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābithe punishment
50. 50قَالُواqālūThey (will) sayأَوَلَمْawalamDid there notتَكُtakuDid there notتَأْتِيكُمْtatīkumcome to youرُسُلُكُمْrusulukumyour Messengersبِالْبَيِّنَاتِbil-bayinātiwith clear proofsقَالُواqālūThey (will) sayبَلَىbalāYesقَالُواqālūThey (will) sayفَادْعُواfa-id'ʿūThen callوَمَاwamābut notدُعَؤُاduʿāu(is) the callالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīna(of) the disbelieversإِلَّاillāexceptفِيfīinضَلَالٍḍalālinerror
51. 51إِنَّاinnāIndeed WeلَنَنْصُرُlananṣuruWe will surely helpرُسُلَنَاrusulanāOur Messengersوَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveفِيfīinالْحَيَوةِl-ḥayatithe lifeالدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the worldوَيَوْمَwayawmaand (on the) Dayيَقُومُyaqūmu(when) will standالْأَشْهَادُl-ashhāduthe witnesses
52. 52يَوْمَyawma(The) Dayلَاlānotيَنْفَعُyanfaʿuwill benefitالظَّالِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoersمَعْذِرَتُهُمْmaʿdhiratuhumtheir excuseوَلَهُمُwalahumuand for themاللَّعْنَةُl-laʿnatu(is) the curseوَلَهُمْwalahumand for themسُوءُsūu(is the) worstالدَّارِl-dārihome
53. 53وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyءَاتَيْنَاātaynāWe gaveمُوسَىmūsāMusaالْهُدَىl-hudāthe guidanceوَأَوْرَثْنَاwa-awrathnāand We caused to inheritبَنِيbanī(the) Children of Israelإِسْرَاءِيلَis'rāīla(the) Children of Israelالْكِتَابَl-kitābathe Book
54. 54هُدًىhudanA guideوَذِكْرَىwadhik'rāand a reminderلِأُولِيli-ulīfor thoseالْأَلْبَابِl-albābi(of) understanding
55. 55فَاصْبِرْfa-iṣ'birSo be patientإِنَّinnaindeedوَعْدَwaʿda(the) Promise of Allahاللَّهِl-lahi(the) Promise of Allahحَقٌّḥaqqun(is) trueوَاسْتَغْفِرْwa-is'taghfirAnd ask forgivenessلِذَنْبِكَlidhanbikafor your sinوَسَبِّحْwasabbiḥand glorifyبِحَمْدِbiḥamdi(the) praiseرَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lordبِالْعَشِيِّbil-ʿashiyiin the eveningوَالْإِبْكَارِwal-ib'kāriand the morning
56. 56إِنَّinnaIndeedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيُجَادِلُونَyujādilūnadisputeفِيfīconcerningءَايَاتِāyāti(the) Signsاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahبِغَيْرِbighayriwithoutسُلْطَانٍsul'ṭāninany authorityأَتَاهُمْatāhum(which) came to themإِنْinnotفِيfī(is) inصُدُورِهِمْṣudūrihimtheir breastsإِلَّاillābutكِبْرٌkib'rungreatnessمَاmānotهُمْhumtheyبِبَالِغِيهِbibālighīhi(can) reach itفَاسْتَعِذْfa-is'taʿidhSo seek refugeبِاللَّهِbil-lahiin AllahإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed HeهُوَhuwaHeالسَّمِيعُl-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearerالْبَصِيرُl-baṣīruthe All-Seer
57. 57لَخَلْقُlakhalquSurely (the) creationالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthأَكْبَرُakbaru(is) greaterمِنْminthanخَلْقِkhalqi(the) creationالنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the mankindوَلَكِنَّwalākinnabutأَكْثَرَaktharamostالنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the peopleلَاlā(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
58. 58وَمَاwamāAnd notيَسْتَوِيyastawīare equalالْأَعْمَىl-aʿmāthe blindوَالْبَصِيرُwal-baṣīruand the seeingوَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveوَعَمِلُواwaʿamilūand doالصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deedsوَلَاwalāand notالْمُسِيءُl-musīuthe evildoerقَلِيلًاqalīlanLittleمَاmā(is) whatتَتَذَكَّرُونَtatadhakkarūnayou take heed
59. 59إِنَّinnaIndeedالسَّاعَةَl-sāʿatathe Hourلَءَاتِيَةٌlaātiyatun(is) surely comingلَاlānoرَيْبَraybadoubtفِيهَاfīhāin itوَلَكِنَّwalākinnabutأَكْثَرَaktharamostالنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the peopleلَاlā(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
60. 60وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidرَبُّكُمُrabbukumuyour Lordادْعُونِيid'ʿūnīCall upon MeأَسْتَجِبْastajibI will respondلَكُمْlakumto youإِنَّinnaIndeedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيَسْتَكْبِرُونَyastakbirūna(are too) proudعَنْʿantoعِبَادَتِيʿibādatīworship Meسَيَدْخُلُونَsayadkhulūnawill enterجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellدَاخِرِينَdākhirīna(in) humiliation
61. 61اللَّهُal-lahuAllahالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoجَعَلَjaʿalamadeلَكُمُlakumufor youاللَّيْلَal-laylathe nightلِتَسْكُنُواlitaskunūthat you may restفِيهِfīhiin itوَالنَّهَارَwal-nahāraand the dayمُبْصِرًاmub'ṣirangiving visibilityإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَذُوladhū(is) Full (of) Bountyفَضْلٍfaḍlin(is) Full (of) Bountyعَلَىʿalātoالنَّاسِl-nāsithe peopleوَلَكِنَّwalākinnabutأَكْثَرَaktharamostالنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the peopleلَاlā(do) notيَشْكُرُونَyashkurūnagive thanks
62. 62ذَلِكُمُdhālikumuThatاللَّهُl-lahu(is) Allahرَبُّكُمْrabbukumyour Lordخَالِقُkhāliqu(the) Creatorكُلِّkulli(of) allشَيْءٍshayinthingsلَاlā(there is) noإِلَهَilāhagodإِلَّاillāexceptهُوَhuwaHimفَأَنَّىfa-annāSo howتُؤْفَكُونَtu'fakūnaare you deluded
63. 63كَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusيُؤْفَكُyu'fakuwere deludedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَانُواkānūwereبِءَايَاتِbiāyāti(the) Signsاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahيَجْحَدُونَyajḥadūnarejecting
64. 64اللَّهُal-lahuAllahالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoجَعَلَjaʿalamadeلَكُمُlakumufor youالْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earthقَرَارًاqarārana place of settlementوَالسَّمَاءَwal-samāaand the skyبِنَاءًbināana canopyوَصَوَّرَكُمْwaṣawwarakumand He formed youفَأَحْسَنَfa-aḥsanaand perfectedصُوَرَكُمْṣuwarakumyour formsوَرَزَقَكُمْwarazaqakumand provided youمِنَminaofالطَّيِّبَاتِl-ṭayibātithe good thingsذَلِكُمُdhālikumuThatاللَّهُl-lahu(is) Allahرَبُّكُمْrabbukumyour LordفَتَبَارَكَfatabārakaThen blessed isاللَّهُl-lahuAllahرَبُّrabbu(the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
65. 65هُوَhuwaHeالْحَيُّl-ḥayu(is) the Ever-Livingلَاlā(there is) noإِلَهَilāhagodإِلَّاillābutهُوَhuwaHeفَادْعُوهُfa-id'ʿūhuso call Himمُخْلِصِينَmukh'liṣīna(being) sincereلَهُlahuto Himالدِّينَl-dīna(in) the religionالْحَمْدُl-ḥamduAll praise (be)لِلَّهِlillahito Allahرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
66. 66قُلْqulSayإِنِّيinnīIndeed, Iنُهِيتُnuhītu[I] have been forbiddenأَنْantoأَعْبُدَaʿbudaworshipالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whomتَدْعُونَtadʿūnayou callمِنْminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesاللَّهِl-lahiAllahلَمَّاlammāwhenجَاءَنِيَjāaniyahave come to meالْبَيِّنَاتُl-bayinātuthe clear proofsمِنْminfromرَبِّيrabbīmy Lordوَأُمِرْتُwa-umir'tuand I am commandedأَنْantoأُسْلِمَus'limasubmitلِرَبِّlirabbito (the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
67. 67هُوَhuwaHeالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoخَلَقَكُمْkhalaqakumcreated youمِنْminfromتُرَابٍturābindustثُمَّthummathenمِنْminfromنُطْفَةٍnuṭ'fatina sperm-dropثُمَّthummathenمِنْminfromعَلَقَةٍʿalaqatina clinging substanceثُمَّthummathenيُخْرِجُكُمْyukh'rijukumHe brings you outطِفْلًاṭif'lan(as) a childثُمَّthummathenلِتَبْلُغُواlitablughūlets you reachأَشُدَّكُمْashuddakumyour maturityثُمَّthummathenلِتَكُونُواlitakūnūlets you becomeشُيُوخًاshuyūkhanoldوَمِنْكُمْwaminkumand among youمَنْman(is he) whoيُتَوَفَّىyutawaffādiesمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeوَلِتَبْلُغُواwalitablughūand lets you reachأَجَلًاajalana termمُسَمًّىmusammanspecifiedوَلَعَلَّكُمْwalaʿallakumand that you mayتَعْقِلُونَtaʿqilūnause reason
68. 68هُوَhuwaHeالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoيُحْيِيyuḥ'yīgives lifeوَيُمِيتُwayumītuand causes deathفَإِذَاfa-idhāAnd whenقَضَىqaḍāHe decreesأَمْرًاamrana matterفَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen onlyيَقُولُyaqūluHe saysلَهُlahuto itكُنْkunBeفَيَكُونُfayakūnuand it is
69. 69أَلَمْalamDo notتَرَtarayou seeإِلَىilā[to]الَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيُجَادِلُونَyujādilūnadisputeفِيfīconcerningءَايَاتِāyāti(the) Signsاللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahأَنَّىannāHowيُصْرَفُونَyuṣ'rafūnathey are turned away
70. 70الَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoكَذَّبُواkadhabūdenyبِالْكِتَابِbil-kitābithe Bookوَبِمَاwabimāand with whatأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentبِهِbihiwith itرُسُلَنَاrusulanāOur Messengersفَسَوْفَfasawfabut soonيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnathey will know
71. 71إِذِidhiWhenالْأَغْلَالُl-aghlāluthe iron collarsفِيfī(will be) aroundأَعْنَاقِهِمْaʿnāqihimtheir necksوَالسَّلَاسِلُwal-salāsiluand the chainsيُسْحَبُونَyus'ḥabūnathey will be dragged
72. 72فِيfīInالْحَمِيمِl-ḥamīmithe boiling waterثُمَّthummathenفِيfīinالنَّارِl-nārithe Fireيُسْجَرُونَyus'jarūnathey will be burned
73. 73ثُمَّthummaThenقِيلَqīlait will be saidلَهُمْlahumto themأَيْنَaynaWhereمَاmā(is) that whichكُنْتُمْkuntumyou used (to)تُشْرِكُونَtush'rikūnaassociate
74. 74مِنْminOther thanدُونِdūniOther thanاللَّهِl-lahiAllahقَالُواqālūThey will sayضَلُّواḍallūThey have departedعَنَّاʿannāfrom usبَلْbalNayلَمْlamNotنَكُنْnakunwe usedنَدْعُواnadʿū[we] (to) callمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeشَيْئًاshayananythingكَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusيُضِلُّyuḍilluAllah lets go astrayاللَّهُl-lahuAllah lets go astrayالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
75. 75ذَلِكُمْdhālikumThat wasبِمَاbimābecauseكُنْتُمْkuntumyou used (to)تَفْرَحُونَtafraḥūnarejoiceفِيfīinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthبِغَيْرِbighayriwithoutالْحَقِّl-ḥaqirightوَبِمَاwabimāand becauseكُنْتُمْkuntumyou used (to)تَمْرَحُونَtamraḥūnabe insolent
76. 76ادْخُلُواud'khulūEnterأَبْوَابَabwāba(the) gatesجَهَنَّمَjahannama(of) Hellخَالِدِينَkhālidīna(to) abide foreverفِيهَاfīhāin itفَبِئْسَfabi'saand wretched isمَثْوَىmathwā(the) abodeالْمُتَكَبِّرِينَl-mutakabirīna(of) the arrogant
77. 77فَاصْبِرْfa-iṣ'birSo be patientإِنَّinnaindeedوَعْدَwaʿda(the) Promiseاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahحَقٌّḥaqqun(is) trueفَإِمَّاfa-immāAnd whetherنُرِيَنَّكَnuriyannakaWe show youبَعْضَbaʿḍasomeالَّذِيalladhī(of) whatنَعِدُهُمْnaʿiduhumWe have promised themأَوْaworنَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَnatawaffayannakaWe cause you to dieفَإِلَيْنَاfa-ilaynāthen to Usيُرْجَعُونَyur'jaʿūnathey will be returned
78. 78وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe have sentرُسُلًاrusulanMessengersمِنْminbefore youقَبْلِكَqablikabefore youمِنْهُمْmin'humAmong themمَنْman(are) someقَصَصْنَاqaṣaṣnāWe have relatedعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youوَمِنْهُمْwamin'humand among themمَنْman(are) someلَمْlamnotنَقْصُصْnaqṣuṣWe have relatedعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youوَمَاwamāAnd notكَانَkānaisلِرَسُولٍlirasūlinfor any Messengerأَنْanthatيَأْتِيَyatiyahe bringsبِءَايَةٍbiāyatina Signإِلَّاillāexceptبِإِذْنِbi-idh'niby (the) permissionاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahفَإِذَاfa-idhāSo whenجَاءَjāacomesأَمْرُamru(the) Commandاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahقُضِيَquḍiyait will be decidedبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truthوَخَسِرَwakhasiraand will loseهُنَالِكَhunālikathereالْمُبْطِلُونَl-mub'ṭilūnathe falsifiers
79. 79اللَّهُal-lahuAllahالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoجَعَلَjaʿalamadeلَكُمُlakumufor youالْأَنْعَامَl-anʿāmathe cattleلِتَرْكَبُواlitarkabūthat you may rideمِنْهَاmin'hāsome of themوَمِنْهَاwamin'hāand some of themتَأْكُلُونَtakulūnayou eat
80. 80وَلَكُمْwalakumAnd for youفِيهَاfīhāin themمَنَافِعُmanāfiʿu(are) benefitsوَلِتَبْلُغُواwalitablughūand that you may reachعَلَيْهَاʿalayhāthrough themحَاجَةًḥājatana needفِيfī(that is) inصُدُورِكُمْṣudūrikumyour breastsوَعَلَيْهَاwaʿalayhāand upon themوَعَلَىwaʿalāand uponالْفُلْكِl-ful'kithe shipsتُحْمَلُونَtuḥ'malūnayou are carried
81. 81وَيُرِيكُمْwayurīkumAnd He shows youءَايَاتِهِāyātihiHis Signsفَأَيَّfa-ayyaThen whichءَايَاتِāyāti(of the) Signsاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahتُنْكِرُونَtunkirūnawill you deny
82. 82أَفَلَمْafalamDo they notيَسِيرُواyasīrūtravelفِيfīthroughالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe landفَيَنْظُرُواfayanẓurūand seeكَيْفَkayfahowكَانَkānawasعَاقِبَةُʿāqibatu(the) endالَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoمِنْmin(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْqablihim(were) before themكَانُواkānūThey wereأَكْثَرَaktharamore numerousمِنْهُمْmin'humthan themوَأَشَدَّwa-ashaddaand mightierقُوَّةًquwwatan(in) strengthوَءَاثَارًاwaāthāranand impressionsفِيfīinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe landفَمَاfamābut notأَغْنَىaghnāavailedعَنْهُمْʿanhumthemمَاmāwhatكَانُواkānūthey used (to)يَكْسِبُونَyaksibūnaearn
83. 83فَلَمَّاfalammāThen whenجَاءَتْهُمْjāathumcame to themرُسُلُهُمْrusuluhumtheir Messengersبِالْبَيِّنَاتِbil-bayinātiwith clear proofsفَرِحُواfariḥūthey rejoicedبِمَاbimāin whatعِنْدَهُمْʿindahumthey hadمِنَminaofالْعِلْمِl-ʿil'mithe knowledgeوَحَاقَwaḥāqaand envelopedبِهِمْbihimthemمَاmāwhatكَانُواkānūthey used (to)بِهِbihi[at it]يَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūnamock
84. 84فَلَمَّاfalammāSo whenرَأَوْاra-awthey sawبَأْسَنَاbasanāOur punishmentقَالُواqālūthey saidءَامَنَّاāmannāWe believeبِاللَّهِbil-lahiin AllahوَحْدَهُwaḥdahuAloneوَكَفَرْنَاwakafarnāand we disbelieveبِمَاbimāin whatكُنَّاkunnāwe used (to)بِهِbihiwith Himمُشْرِكِينَmush'rikīnaassociate
85. 85فَلَمْfalamBut did notيَكُyakuBut did notيَنْفَعُهُمْyanfaʿuhumbenefit themإِيمَانُهُمْīmānuhumtheir faithلَمَّاlammāwhenرَأَوْاra-awthey sawبَأْسَنَاbasanāOur punishmentسُنَّتَsunnata(Such is the) Wayاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahالَّتِيallatīwhichقَدْqad(has) indeedخَلَتْkhalatprecededفِيfīamongعِبَادِهِʿibādihiHis slavesوَخَسِرَwakhasiraAnd are lostهُنَالِكَhunālikathereالْكَافِرُونَl-kāfirūnathe disbelievers
