Surah 35 — Faatir

  1. 1الْحَمْدُal-ḥamduAll praisesلِلَّهِlillahi(be) to AllahفَاطِرِfāṭiriCreatorالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthجَاعِلِjāʿili(Who) makesالْمَلَائِكَةِl-malāikatithe Angelsرُسُلًاrusulanmessengersأُولِيulīhaving wingsأَجْنِحَةٍajniḥatinhaving wingsمَثْنَىmathnātwoوَثُلَاثَwathulāthaor threeوَرُبَاعَwarubāʿaor fourيَزِيدُyazīduHe increasesفِيinالْخَلْقِl-khalqithe creationمَاwhatيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَلَىʿalā(is) onكُلِّkullieveryشَيْءٍshayinthingقَدِيرٌqadīrunAll-Powerful
  2. 2مَاWhatيَفْتَحِyaftaḥiAllah grantsاللَّهُl-lahuAllah grantsلِلنَّاسِlilnnāsito mankindمِنْminofرَحْمَةٍraḥmatinMercyفَلَاfalāthen noneمُمْسِكَmum'sika(can) withholdلَهَاlahāitوَمَاwamāAnd whatيُمْسِكْyum'sikHe withholdsفَلَاfalāthen noneمُرْسِلَmur'sila(can) releaseلَهُlahuitمِنْminthereafterبَعْدِهِbaʿdihithereafterوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyالْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
  3. 3يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāOالنَّاسُl-nāsumankindاذْكُرُواudh'kurūRememberنِعْمَتَniʿ'mata(the) Favorاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon youهَلْhalIsمِنْmin(there) anyخَالِقٍkhāliqincreatorغَيْرُghayruother (than) Allahاللَّهِl-lahiother (than) Allahيَرْزُقُكُمْyarzuqukumwho provides for youمِنَminafromالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe skyوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthلَا(There is) noإِلَهَilāhagodإِلَّاillābutهُوَhuwaHeفَأَنَّىfa-annāThen, howتُؤْفَكُونَtu'fakūna(are) you deluded
  4. 4وَإِنْwa-inAnd ifيُكَذِّبُوكَyukadhibūkathey deny youفَقَدْfaqadthen certainlyكُذِّبَتْkudhibatwere deniedرُسُلٌrusulunMessengersمِنْminbefore youقَبْلِكَqablikabefore youوَإِلَىwa-ilāAnd toاللَّهِl-lahiAllahتُرْجَعُtur'jaʿureturnالْأُمُورُl-umūruthe matters
  5. 5يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāOالنَّاسُl-nāsumankind!إِنَّinnaIndeedوَعْدَwaʿda(the) promiseاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahحَقٌّḥaqqun(is) trueفَلَاfalāSo (let) notتَغُرَّنَّكُمُtaghurrannakumudeceive youالْحَيَوةُl-ḥayatuthe lifeالدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the worldوَلَاwalāand (let) notيَغُرَّنَّكُمْyaghurrannakumdeceive youبِاللَّهِbil-lahiabout Allahالْغَرُورُl-gharūruthe Deceiver
  6. 6إِنَّinnaIndeedالشَّيْطَانَl-shayṭānathe Shaitaanلَكُمْlakum(is) to youعَدُوٌّʿaduwwunan enemyفَاتَّخِذُوهُfa-ittakhidhūhuso take himعَدُوًّاʿaduwwan(as) an enemyإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyيَدْعُواyadʿūhe invitesحِزْبَهُḥiz'bahuhis partyلِيَكُونُواliyakūnūthat they may beمِنْminamongأَصْحَابِaṣḥābi(the) companionsالسَّعِيرِl-saʿīri(of) the Blaze
  7. 7الَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveلَهُمْlahumfor themعَذَابٌʿadhābun(will be) a punishmentشَدِيدٌshadīdunsevereوَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand thoseءَامَنُواāmanūwho believeوَعَمِلُواwaʿamilūand doالصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deedsلَهُمْlahumfor themمَغْفِرَةٌmaghfiratun(will be) forgivenessوَأَجْرٌwa-ajrunand a rewardكَبِيرٌkabīrungreat
  8. 8أَفَمَنْafamanThen is (he) whoزُيِّنَzuyyinais made fair-seemingلَهُlahuto himسُوءُsūu(the) evilعَمَلِهِʿamalihi(of) his deedفَرَءَاهُfaraāhuso that he sees itحَسَنًاḥasanan(as) goodفَإِنَّfa-innaFor indeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahيُضِلُّyuḍillulets go astrayمَنْmanwhomيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsوَيَهْدِيwayahdīand guidesمَنْmanwhomيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsفَلَاfalāSo (let) notتَذْهَبْtadhhabgo outنَفْسُكَnafsukayour soulعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimfor themحَسَرَاتٍḥasarātin(in) regretsإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَلِيمٌʿalīmun(is) All-Knowerبِمَاbimāof whatيَصْنَعُونَyaṣnaʿūnathey do
  9. 9وَاللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoأَرْسَلَarsalasendsالرِّيَاحَl-riyāḥathe windsفَتُثِيرُfatuthīruso that they raiseسَحَابًاsaḥāban(the) cloudsفَسُقْنَاهُfasuq'nāhuand We drive themإِلَىilātoبَلَدٍbaladina landمَيِّتٍmayyitindeadفَأَحْيَيْنَاfa-aḥyaynāand We reviveبِهِbihitherewithالْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earthبَعْدَbaʿdaafterمَوْتِهَاmawtihāits deathكَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusالنُّشُورُl-nushūru(will be) the Resurrection
  10. 10مَنْmanWhoeverكَانَkāna[is] desiresيُرِيدُyurīdu[is] desiresالْعِزَّةَl-ʿizatathe honorفَلِلَّهِfalillahithen for Allahالْعِزَّةُl-ʿizatu(is) the HonorجَمِيعًاjamīʿanallإِلَيْهِilayhiTo Himيَصْعَدُyaṣʿaduascendsالْكَلِمُl-kalimuthe wordsالطَّيِّبُl-ṭayibugoodوَالْعَمَلُwal-ʿamaluand the deedالصَّالِحُl-ṣāliḥurighteousيَرْفَعُهُyarfaʿuhuraises itوَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaBut those whoيَمْكُرُونَyamkurūnaplotالسَّيِّئَاتِl-sayiātithe evilلَهُمْlahumfor themعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentشَدِيدٌshadīdunsevereوَمَكْرُwamakruand (the) plottingأُولَئِكَulāika(of) thoseهُوَhuwaitيَبُورُyabūru(will) perish
  11. 11وَاللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahخَلَقَكُمْkhalaqakumcreated youمِنْminfromتُرَابٍturābindustثُمَّthummathenمِنْminfromنُطْفَةٍnuṭ'fatina sperm-dropثُمَّthummathenجَعَلَكُمْjaʿalakumHe made youأَزْوَاجًاazwājanmatesوَمَاwamāAnd notتَحْمِلُtaḥmiluconceivesمِنْminanyأُنْثَىunthāfemaleوَلَاwalāand notتَضَعُtaḍaʿugives birthإِلَّاillāexceptبِعِلْمِهِbiʿil'mihiwith His knowledgeوَمَاwamāAnd notيُعَمَّرُyuʿammaruis granted lifeمِنْminanyمُعَمَّرٍmuʿammarinaged personوَلَاwalāand notيُنْقَصُyunqaṣuis lessenedمِنْminfromعُمُرِهِʿumurihihis lifeإِلَّاillābutفِي(is) inكِتَابٍkitābina RegisterإِنَّinnaIndeedذَلِكَdhālikathatعَلَىʿalāforاللَّهِl-lahiAllahيَسِيرٌyasīrun(is) easy
  12. 12وَمَاwamāAnd notيَسْتَوِيyastawīare alikeالْبَحْرَانِl-baḥrānithe two seasهَذَاhādhāThisعَذْبٌʿadhbun(is) freshفُرَاتٌfurātunsweetسَائِغٌsāighunpleasantشَرَابُهُsharābuhuits drinkوَهَذَاwahādhāand thisمِلْحٌmil'ḥunsaltyأُجَاجٌujājun(and) bitterوَمِنْwaminAnd fromكُلٍّkullineachتَأْكُلُونَtakulūnayou eatلَحْمًاlaḥmanmeatطَرِيًّاṭariyyanfreshوَتَسْتَخْرِجُونَwatastakhrijūnaand you extractحِلْيَةًḥil'yatanornamentsتَلْبَسُونَهَاtalbasūnahāyou wear themوَتَرَىwatarāand you seeالْفُلْكَl-ful'kathe shipsفِيهِfīhiin itمَوَاخِرَmawākhiracleavingلِتَبْتَغُواlitabtaghūso that you may seekمِنْminofفَضْلِهِfaḍlihiHis Bountyوَلَعَلَّكُمْwalaʿallakumand that you mayتَشْكُرُونَtashkurūnabe grateful
  13. 13يُولِجُyūlijuHe causes to enterاللَّيْلَal-laylathe nightفِيin (to)النَّهَارِl-nahārithe dayوَيُولِجُwayūlijuand He causes to enterالنَّهَارَl-nahārathe dayفِيin (to)اللَّيْلِal-laylithe nightوَسَخَّرَwasakharaand He has subjectedالشَّمْسَl-shamsathe sunوَالْقَمَرَwal-qamaraand the moonكُلٌّkulluneachيَجْرِيyajrīrunningلِأَجَلٍli-ajalinfor a termمُسَمًّىmusammanappointedذَلِكُمُdhālikumuThat (is)اللَّهُl-lahuAllahرَبُّكُمْrabbukumyour Lordلَهُlahufor Himالْمُلْكُl-mul'ku(is) the Dominionوَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whomتَدْعُونَtadʿūnayou invokeمِنْminbesides Himدُونِهِdūnihibesides Himمَاnotيَمْلِكُونَyamlikūnathey possessمِنْminevenقِطْمِيرٍqiṭ'mīrin(as much as) the membrane of a date-seed
  14. 14إِنْinIfتَدْعُوهُمْtadʿūhumyou invoke themلَاnotيَسْمَعُواyasmaʿūthey hearدُعَاءَكُمْduʿāakumyour callوَلَوْwalawand ifسَمِعُواsamiʿūthey heardمَاnotاسْتَجَابُواis'tajābūthey (would) respondلَكُمْlakumto youوَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (on the) Dayالْقِيَامَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionيَكْفُرُونَyakfurūnathey will denyبِشِرْكِكُمْbishir'kikumyour associationوَلَاwalāAnd noneيُنَبِّئُكَyunabbi-ukacan inform youمِثْلُmith'lulikeخَبِيرٍkhabīrin(the) All-Aware
  15. 15يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāOالنَّاسُl-nāsumankind!أَنْتُمُantumuYouالْفُقَرَاءُl-fuqarāu(are) those in needإِلَىilāofاللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَاللَّهُwal-lahuwhile AllahهُوَhuwaHeالْغَنِيُّl-ghaniyu(is) Free of needالْحَمِيدُl-ḥamīduthe Praiseworthy
  16. 16إِنْinIfيَشَأْyashaHe willsيُذْهِبْكُمْyudh'hib'kumHe (can) do away with youوَيَأْتِwayatiand bringبِخَلْقٍbikhalqinin a creationجَدِيدٍjadīdinnew
  17. 17وَمَاwamāAnd notذَلِكَdhālikathatعَلَىʿalā(is) onاللَّهِl-lahiAllahبِعَزِيزٍbiʿazīzindifficult
  18. 18وَلَاwalāAnd notتَزِرُtaziruwill bearوَازِرَةٌwāziratunbearer of burdensوِزْرَwiz'raburdenأُخْرَىukh'rā(of) anotherوَإِنْwa-inAnd ifتَدْعُtadʿucallsمُثْقَلَةٌmuth'qalatuna heavily ladenإِلَىilātoحِمْلِهَاḥim'lihā(carry) its loadلَاnotيُحْمَلْyuḥ'malwill be carriedمِنْهُmin'huof itشَيْءٌshayonanythingوَلَوْwalaweven ifكَانَkānahe beذَاdhānear of kinقُرْبَىqur'bānear of kinإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyتُنْذِرُtundhiruyou can warnالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيَخْشَوْنَyakhshawnafearرَبَّهُمْrabbahumtheir Lordبِالْغَيْبِbil-ghaybiunseenوَأَقَامُواwa-aqāmūand establishالصَّلَوةَl-ṣalatathe prayerوَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverتَزَكَّىtazakkāpurifies himselfفَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen onlyيَتَزَكَّىyatazakkāhe purifiesلِنَفْسِهِlinafsihifor his own selfوَإِلَىwa-ilāAnd toاللَّهِl-lahiAllahالْمَصِيرُl-maṣīru(is) the destination
  19. 19وَمَاwamāAnd notيَسْتَوِيyastawīequalالْأَعْمَىl-aʿmā(are) the blindوَالْبَصِيرُwal-baṣīruand the seeing
  20. 20وَلَاwalāAnd notالظُّلُمَاتُl-ẓulumātuthe darkness[es]وَلَاwalāand notالنُّورُl-nūru[the] light
  21. 21وَلَاwalāAnd notالظِّلُّl-ẓiluthe shadeوَلَاwalāand notالْحَرُورُl-ḥarūruthe heat
  22. 22وَمَاwamāAnd notيَسْتَوِيyastawīequalالْأَحْيَاءُl-aḥyāu(are) the livingوَلَاwalāand notالْأَمْوَاتُl-amwātuthe deadإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahيُسْمِعُyus'miʿucauses to hearمَنْmanwhomيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsوَمَاwamāand notأَنْتَantayouبِمُسْمِعٍbimus'miʿincan make hearمَنْman(those) whoفِي(are) inالْقُبُورِl-qubūrithe graves
  23. 23إِنْinNotأَنْتَantayou (are)إِلَّاillābutنَذِيرٌnadhīruna warner
  24. 24إِنَّاinnāIndeed Weأَرْسَلْنَاكَarsalnāka[We] have sent youبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiwith the truthبَشِيرًاbashīran(as) a bearer of glad tidingsوَنَذِيرًاwanadhīranand (as) a warnerوَإِنْwa-inAnd notمِنْmin(was) anyأُمَّةٍummatinnationإِلَّاillābutخَلَاkhalāhad passedفِيهَاfīhāwithin itنَذِيرٌnadhīruna warner
  25. 25وَإِنْwa-inAnd ifيُكَذِّبُوكَyukadhibūkathey deny youفَقَدْfaqadthen certainlyكَذَّبَkadhabadeniedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoمِنْmin(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْqablihim(were) before themجَاءَتْهُمْjāathumCame to themرُسُلُهُمْrusuluhumtheir Messengersبِالْبَيِّنَاتِbil-bayinātiwith clear signsوَبِالزُّبُرِwabil-zuburiand with Scripturesوَبِالْكِتَابِwabil-kitābiand with the Bookالْمُنِيرِl-munīri[the] enlightening
  26. 26ثُمَّthummaThenأَخَذْتُakhadhtuI seizedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedفَكَيْفَfakayfaand howكَانَkānawasنَكِيرِnakīriMy rejection!
  27. 27أَلَمْalamDo notتَرَtarayou seeأَنَّannathatاللَّهَl-lahaAllahأَنْزَلَanzalasends downمِنَminafromالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe skyمَاءًmāanwaterفَأَخْرَجْنَاfa-akhrajnāthen We bring forthبِهِbihitherewithثَمَرَاتٍthamarātinfruitsمُخْتَلِفًاmukh'talifan(of) variousأَلْوَانُهَاalwānuhā[their] colorsوَمِنَwaminaAnd inالْجِبَالِl-jibālithe mountainsجُدَدٌjudadun(are) tractsبِيضٌbīḍunwhiteوَحُمْرٌwaḥum'runand redمُخْتَلِفٌmukh'talifun(of) variousأَلْوَانُهَاalwānuhā[their] colorsوَغَرَابِيبُwagharābībuand intensely blackسُودٌsūdunand intensely black
  28. 28وَمِنَwaminaAnd amongالنَّاسِl-nāsimenوَالدَّوَابِّwal-dawābiand moving creaturesوَالْأَنْعَامِwal-anʿāmiand the cattleمُخْتَلِفٌmukh'talifun(are) variousأَلْوَانُهُalwānuhu[their] colorsكَذَلِكَkadhālikalikewiseإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyيَخْشَىyakhshāfearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahمِنْminamongعِبَادِهِʿibādihiHis slavesالْعُلَمَؤُاl-ʿulamāuthose who have knowledgeإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَزِيزٌʿazīzun(is) All-MightyغَفُورٌghafūrunOft-Forgiving
  29. 29إِنَّinnaIndeedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيَتْلُونَyatlūnareciteكِتَابَkitāba(the) Bookاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَأَقَامُواwa-aqāmūand establishالصَّلَوةَl-ṣalatathe prayerوَأَنْفَقُواwa-anfaqūand spendمِمَّاmimmāout of whatرَزَقْنَاهُمْrazaqnāhumWe have provided themسِرًّاsirransecretlyوَعَلَانِيَةًwaʿalāniyatanand openlyيَرْجُونَyarjūnahopeتِجَارَةًtijāratan(for) a commerceلَنْlanneverتَبُورَtabūrait will perish
  30. 30لِيُوَفِّيَهُمْliyuwaffiyahumThat He may give them in fullأُجُورَهُمْujūrahumtheir rewardsوَيَزِيدَهُمْwayazīdahumand increase for themمِنْminofفَضْلِهِfaḍlihiHis BountyإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed Heغَفُورٌghafūrun(is) Oft-ForgivingشَكُورٌshakūrunMost Appreciative
  31. 31وَالَّذِيwa-alladhīAnd (that) whichأَوْحَيْنَاawḥaynāWe have revealedإِلَيْكَilaykato youمِنَminaofالْكِتَابِl-kitābithe Bookهُوَhuwaitالْحَقُّl-ḥaqu(is) the truthمُصَدِّقًاmuṣaddiqanconfirmingلِمَاlimāwhat (was)بَيْنَbaynabefore itيَدَيْهِyadayhibefore itإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahبِعِبَادِهِbiʿibādihiof His slavesلَخَبِيرٌlakhabīrunsurely, (is) All-AwareبَصِيرٌbaṣīrunAll-Seer
  32. 32ثُمَّthummaThenأَوْرَثْنَاawrathnāWe caused to inheritالْكِتَابَl-kitābathe Bookالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whomاصْطَفَيْنَاiṣ'ṭafaynāWe have chosenمِنْminofعِبَادِنَاʿibādināOur slavesفَمِنْهُمْfamin'humand among themظَالِمٌẓālimun(is he) who wrongsلِنَفْسِهِlinafsihihimselfوَمِنْهُمْwamin'humand among themمُقْتَصِدٌmuq'taṣidun(is he who is) moderateوَمِنْهُمْwamin'humand among themسَابِقٌsābiqun(is he who is) foremostبِالْخَيْرَاتِbil-khayrātiin good deedsبِإِذْنِbi-idh'niby permissionاللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahذَلِكَdhālikaThatهُوَhuwaisالْفَضْلُl-faḍluthe Bountyالْكَبِيرُl-kabīruthe great
  33. 33جَنَّاتُjannātuGardensعَدْنٍʿadnin(of) Eternityيَدْخُلُونَهَاyadkhulūnahāthey will enter themيُحَلَّوْنَyuḥallawnaThey will be adornedفِيهَاfīhāthereinمِنْminwithأَسَاوِرَasāwirabraceletsمِنْminofذَهَبٍdhahabingoldوَلُؤْلُؤًاwalu'lu-anand pearlsوَلِبَاسُهُمْwalibāsuhumand their garmentsفِيهَاfīhāthereinحَرِيرٌḥarīrun(will be of) silk
  34. 34وَقَالُواwaqālūAnd they (will) sayالْحَمْدُl-ḥamduAll praisesلِلَّهِlillahi(be) to Allahالَّذِيalladhīthe One Whoأَذْهَبَadhhaba(has) removedعَنَّاʿannāfrom usالْحَزَنَl-ḥazanathe sorrowإِنَّinnaIndeedرَبَّنَاrabbanāour Lordلَغَفُورٌlaghafūrun(is) surely Oft-ForgivingشَكُورٌshakūrunMost Appreciative
  35. 35الَّذِيalladhīThe One Whoأَحَلَّنَاaḥallanāhas settled usدَارَdāra(in) a Homeالْمُقَامَةِl-muqāmati(of) Eternityمِنْmin(out) ofفَضْلِهِfaḍlihiHis BountyلَاNotيَمَسُّنَاyamassunātouches usفِيهَاfīhāthereinنَصَبٌnaṣabunany fatigueوَلَاwalāand notيَمَسُّنَاyamassunātouchesفِيهَاfīhāthereinلُغُوبٌlughūbunweariness
  36. 36وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveلَهُمْlahumfor themنَارُnāru(will be the) Fireجَهَنَّمَjahannama(of) HellلَاNotيُقْضَىyuq'ḍāis decreedعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimfor themفَيَمُوتُواfayamūtūthat they dieوَلَاwalāand notيُخَفَّفُyukhaffafuwill be lightenedعَنْهُمْʿanhumfor themمِنْminofعَذَابِهَاʿadhābihāits tormentكَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusنَجْزِيnajzīWe recompenseكُلَّkullaeveryكَفُورٍkafūrinungrateful one
  37. 37وَهُمْwahumAnd theyيَصْطَرِخُونَyaṣṭarikhūnawill cryفِيهَاfīhāthereinرَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lord!أَخْرِجْنَاakhrij'nāBring us outنَعْمَلْnaʿmalwe will doصَالِحًاṣāliḥanrighteous (deeds)غَيْرَghayraother thanالَّذِيalladhī(that) whichكُنَّاkunnāwe usedنَعْمَلُnaʿmalu(to) doأَوَلَمْawalamDid notنُعَمِّرْكُمْnuʿammir'kumWe give you life long enoughمَاthatيَتَذَكَّرُyatadhakkaru(would) receive admonitionفِيهِfīhithereinمَنْmanwhoeverتَذَكَّرَtadhakkarareceives admonitionوَجَاءَكُمُwajāakumuAnd came to youالنَّذِيرُl-nadhīruthe warnerفَذُوقُواfadhūqūSo tasteفَمَاfamāthen notلِلظَّالِمِينَlilẓẓālimīna(is) for the wrongdoersمِنْminanyنَصِيرٍnaṣīrinhelper
  38. 38إِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahعَالِمُʿālimu(is the) Knowerغَيْبِghaybi(of the) unseenالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed, Heعَلِيمٌʿalīmun(is the) All-Knowerبِذَاتِbidhātiof what (is) in the breastsالصُّدُورِl-ṣudūriof what (is) in the breasts
  39. 39هُوَhuwaHeالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoجَعَلَكُمْjaʿalakummade youخَلَائِفَkhalāifasuccessorsفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthفَمَنْfamanAnd whoeverكَفَرَkafaradisbelievesفَعَلَيْهِfaʿalayhithen upon himكُفْرُهُkuf'ruhu(is) his disbeliefوَلَاwalāAnd notيَزِيدُyazīduincreaseالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelieversكُفْرُهُمْkuf'ruhumtheir disbeliefعِنْدَʿindanearرَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lordإِلَّاillāexceptمَقْتًاmaqtan(in) hatredوَلَاwalāand notيَزِيدُyazīduincreaseالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelieversكُفْرُهُمْkuf'ruhumtheir disbeliefإِلَّاillāexceptخَسَارًاkhasāran(in) loss
  40. 40قُلْqulSayأَرَءَيْتُمْara-aytumHave you seenشُرَكَاءَكُمُshurakāakumuyour partnersالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whomتَدْعُونَtadʿūnayou callمِنْminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesاللَّهِl-lahiAllahأَرُونِيarūnīShow Meمَاذَاmādhāwhatخَلَقُواkhalaqūthey have createdمِنَminafromالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthأَمْamorلَهُمْlahumfor themشِرْكٌshir'kun(is) a shareفِيinالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensأَمْamOrءَاتَيْنَاهُمْātaynāhumhave We given themكِتَابًاkitābana Bookفَهُمْfahumso theyعَلَىʿalā(are) onبَيِّنَتٍbayyinatina clear proofمِنْهُmin'hutherefromبَلْbalNayإِنْinnotيَعِدُyaʿidupromiseالظَّالِمُونَl-ẓālimūnathe wrongdoersبَعْضُهُمْbaʿḍuhumsome of themبَعْضًاbaʿḍan(to) othersإِلَّاillāexceptغُرُورًاghurūrandelusion
  41. 41إِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahيُمْسِكُyum'sikuupholdsالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthأَنْanlestتَزُولَاtazūlāthey ceaseوَلَئِنْwala-inAnd ifزَالَتَاzālatāthey should ceaseإِنْinnotأَمْسَكَهُمَاamsakahumācan uphold themمِنْminanyأَحَدٍaḥadinoneمِنْminafter Himبَعْدِهِbaʿdihiafter HimإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed, HeكَانَkānaisحَلِيمًاḥalīmanMost ForbearingغَفُورًاghafūranOft-Forgiving
  42. 42وَأَقْسَمُواwa-aqsamūAnd they sworeبِاللَّهِbil-lahiby Allahجَهْدَjahda(the) strongestأَيْمَانِهِمْaymānihim(of) their oathsلَئِنْla-inthat ifجَاءَهُمْjāahumcame to themنَذِيرٌnadhīruna warnerلَيَكُونُنَّlayakūnunnasurely they would beأَهْدَىahdāmore guidedمِنْminthanإِحْدَىiḥ'dāanyالْأُمَمِl-umami(of) the nationsفَلَمَّاfalammāBut whenجَاءَهُمْjāahumcame to themنَذِيرٌnadhīruna warnerمَاnotزَادَهُمْzādahumit increased themإِلَّاillābutنُفُورًاnufūran(in) aversion
  43. 43اسْتِكْبَارًاis'tik'bāran(Due to) arroganceفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe landوَمَكْرَwamakraand plottingالسَّيِّئِl-sayi-i(of) the evilوَلَاwalābut notيَحِيقُyaḥīquencompassesالْمَكْرُl-makruthe plotالسَّيِّئُl-sayi-u(of) the evilإِلَّاillāexceptبِأَهْلِهِbi-ahlihiits own peopleفَهَلْfahalThen doيَنْظُرُونَyanẓurūnathey waitإِلَّاillāexceptسُنَّتَsunnata(the) wayالْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the former (people)فَلَنْfalanBut neverتَجِدَtajidayou will findلِسُنَّتِlisunnatiin (the) wayاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahتَبْدِيلًاtabdīlanany changeوَلَنْwalanand neverتَجِدَtajidayou will findلِسُنَّتِlisunnatiin (the) wayاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahتَحْوِيلًاtaḥwīlanany alteration
  44. 44أَوَلَمْawalamHave they notيَسِيرُواyasīrūtraveledفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe landفَيَنْظُرُواfayanẓurūand seenكَيْفَkayfahowكَانَkānawasعَاقِبَةُʿāqibatu(the) endالَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoمِنْmin(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْqablihim(were) before themوَكَانُواwakānūAnd they wereأَشَدَّashaddastrongerمِنْهُمْmin'humthan themقُوَّةًquwwatan(in) powerوَمَاwamāBut notكَانَkānaisاللَّهُl-lahuAllahلِيُعْجِزَهُliyuʿ'jizahuthat can escape (from) Himمِنْminanyشَيْءٍshayinthingفِيinالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَلَاwalāand notفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed, HeكَانَkānaisعَلِيمًاʿalīmanAll-KnowerقَدِيرًاqadīranAll-Powerful
  45. 45وَلَوْwalawAnd ifيُؤَاخِذُyuākhidhuAllah (were to) punishاللَّهُl-lahuAllah (were to) punishالنَّاسَl-nāsathe peopleبِمَاbimāfor whatكَسَبُواkasabūthey have earnedمَاnotتَرَكَtarakaHe would leaveعَلَىʿalāonظَهْرِهَاẓahrihāits backمِنْminanyدَابَّةٍdābbatincreatureوَلَكِنْwalākinButيُؤَخِّرُهُمْyu-akhiruhumHe gives them respiteإِلَىilātillأَجَلٍajalina termمُسَمًّىmusammanappointedفَإِذَاfa-idhāAnd whenجَاءَjāacomesأَجَلُهُمْajaluhumtheir termفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَانَkānaisبِعِبَادِهِbiʿibādihiof His slavesبَصِيرًاbaṣīranAll-Seer
