بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 34 — Saba

  1. 1الْحَمْدُal-ḥamduAll praisesلِلَّهِlillahi(be) to Allahالَّذِيalladhīthe One to Whom belongsلَهُlahuthe One to Whom belongsمَاwhateverفِي(is) inالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَمَاwamāand whateverفِي(is) inالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَلَهُwalahuand for Himالْحَمْدُl-ḥamdu(are) all praisesفِيinالْءَاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe HereafterوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmu(is) the All-Wiseالْخَبِيرُl-khabīruthe All-Aware
  2. 2يَعْلَمُyaʿlamuHe knowsمَاwhatيَلِجُyalijupenetratesفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَمَاwamāand whatيَخْرُجُyakhrujucomes outمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom itوَمَاwamāand whatيَنْزِلُyanziludescendsمِنَminafromالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe heavenوَمَاwamāand whatيَعْرُجُyaʿrujuascendsفِيهَاfīhāthereinوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmu(is) the Most Mercifulالْغَفُورُl-ghafūruthe Oft-Forgiving
  3. 3وَقَالَwaqālaBut sayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveلَاNotتَأْتِينَاtatīnāwill come to usالسَّاعَةُl-sāʿatuthe HourقُلْqulSayبَلَىbalāNayوَرَبِّيwarabbīby my Lordلَتَأْتِيَنَّكُمْlatatiyannakumsurely it will come to youعَالِمِʿālimi(He is the) Knowerالْغَيْبِl-ghaybi(of) the unseenلَاNotيَعْزُبُyaʿzubuescapesعَنْهُʿanhufrom Himمِثْقَالُmith'qālu(the) weightذَرَّةٍdharratin(of) an atomفِيinالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَلَاwalāand notفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَلَاwalāand notأَصْغَرُaṣgharusmallerمِنْminthanذَلِكَdhālikathatوَلَاwalāand notأَكْبَرُakbarugreaterإِلَّاillābutفِي(is) inكِتَابٍkitābina RecordمُبِينٍmubīninClear
  4. 4لِيَجْزِيَliyajziyaThat He may rewardالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveوَعَمِلُواwaʿamilūand doالصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deedsأُولَئِكَulāikaThoseلَهُمْlahumfor themمَغْفِرَةٌmaghfiratun(will be) forgivenessوَرِزْقٌwariz'qunand a provisionكَرِيمٌkarīmunnoble
  5. 5وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaBut those whoسَعَوْاsaʿawstriveفِيagainstءَايَاتِنَاāyātināOur Versesمُعَاجِزِينَmuʿājizīna(to) cause failureأُولَئِكَulāikathoseلَهُمْlahumfor themعَذَابٌʿadhābun(is) a punishmentمِنْminofرِجْزٍrij'zinfoul natureأَلِيمٌalīmunpainful
  6. 6وَيَرَىwayarāAnd seeالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoأُوتُواūtūhave been givenالْعِلْمَl-ʿil'mathe knowledgeالَّذِيalladhī(that) whatأُنْزِلَunzilais revealedإِلَيْكَilaykato youمِنْminfromرَبِّكَrabbikayour Lordهُوَhuwa[it]الْحَقَّl-ḥaqa(is) the Truthوَيَهْدِيwayahdīand it guidesإِلَىilātoصِرَاطِṣirāṭi(the) Pathالْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzi(of) the All-Mightyالْحَمِيدِl-ḥamīdithe Praiseworthy
  7. 7وَقَالَwaqālaBut sayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveهَلْhalShallنَدُلُّكُمْnadullukumwe direct youعَلَىʿalātoرَجُلٍrajulina manيُنَبِّئُكُمْyunabbi-ukumwho informs youإِذَاidhāwhenمُزِّقْتُمْmuzziq'tumyou have disintegratedكُلَّkulla(in) totalمُمَزَّقٍmumazzaqindisintegrationإِنَّكُمْinnakumindeed youلَفِيlafīsurely (will be) inخَلْقٍkhalqina creationجَدِيدٍjadīdinnew
  8. 8أَفْتَرَىaftarāHas he inventedعَلَىʿalāaboutاللَّهِl-lahiAllahكَذِبًاkadhibana lieأَمْamorبِهِbihiin himجِنَّةٌjinnatun(is) madnessبَلِbaliNayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieveبِالْءَاخِرَةِbil-ākhiratiin the Hereafterفِي(will be) inالْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābithe punishmentوَالضَّلَالِwal-ḍalāliand errorالْبَعِيدِl-baʿīdifar
  9. 9أَفَلَمْafalamThen, do notيَرَوْاyarawthey seeإِلَىilātowardsمَاwhatبَيْنَbayna(is) before themأَيْدِيهِمْaydīhim(is) before themوَمَاwamāand whatخَلْفَهُمْkhalfahum(is) behind themمِنَminaofالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe heavenوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthإِنْinIfنَشَأْnashaWe willنَخْسِفْnakhsifWe (could) cause to swallow themبِهِمُbihimuWe (could) cause to swallow themالْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earthأَوْaworنُسْقِطْnus'qiṭcause to fallعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimupon themكِسَفًاkisafanfragmentsمِنَminafromالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe skyإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَةًlaāyatansurely, is a Signلِكُلِّlikullifor everyعَبْدٍʿabdinslaveمُنِيبٍmunībinwho turns (to Allah)
  10. 10وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyءَاتَيْنَاātaynāWe gaveدَاوُدَdāwūdaDawoodمِنَّاminnāfrom UsفَضْلًاfaḍlanBountyيَاجِبَالُyājibāluO mountains!أَوِّبِيawwibīRepeat praisesمَعَهُmaʿahuwith himوَالطَّيْرَwal-ṭayraand the birdsوَأَلَنَّاwa-alannāAnd We made pliableلَهُlahufor himالْحَدِيدَl-ḥadīda[the] iron
  11. 11أَنِaniThatاعْمَلْiʿ'malmakeسَابِغَاتٍsābighātinfull coats of mailوَقَدِّرْwaqaddirand measure preciselyفِي[of]السَّرْدِl-sardithe links (of armor)وَاعْمَلُواwa-iʿ'malūand workصَالِحًاṣāliḥanrighteousnessإِنِّيinnīIndeed I Amبِمَاbimāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou doبَصِيرٌbaṣīrunAll-Seer
  12. 12وَلِسُلَيْمَانَwalisulaymānaAnd to Sulaimanالرِّيحَl-rīḥathe windغُدُوُّهَاghuduwwuhāits morning courseشَهْرٌshahrun(was) a monthوَرَوَاحُهَاwarawāḥuhāand its afternoon courseشَهْرٌshahrun(was) a monthوَأَسَلْنَاwa-asalnāand We caused to flowلَهُlahufor himعَيْنَʿaynaa springالْقِطْرِl-qiṭ'ri(of) molten copperوَمِنَwaminaAnd [of]الْجِنِّl-jinithe jinnمَنْmanwhoيَعْمَلُyaʿmaluworkedبَيْنَbaynabefore himيَدَيْهِyadayhibefore himبِإِذْنِbi-idh'niby the permissionرَبِّهِrabbihi(of) his LordوَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverيَزِغْyazighdeviatedمِنْهُمْmin'humamong themعَنْʿanfromأَمْرِنَاamrināOur Commandنُذِقْهُnudhiq'huWe will make him tasteمِنْminofعَذَابِʿadhābi(the) punishmentالسَّعِيرِl-saʿīri(of) the Blaze
  13. 13يَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnaThey workedلَهُlahufor himمَاwhatيَشَاءُyashāuhe willedمِنْminofمَحَارِيبَmaḥārībaelevated chambersوَتَمَاثِيلَwatamāthīlaand statuesوَجِفَانٍwajifāninand bowlsكَالْجَوَابِkal-jawābilike reservoirsوَقُدُورٍwaqudūrinand cooking-potsرَاسِيَاتٍrāsiyātinfixedاعْمَلُواiʿ'malūWorkءَالَālaO familyدَاوُدَdāwūda(of) Dawood!شُكْرًاshuk'ran(in) gratitudeوَقَلِيلٌwaqalīlunBut fewمِنْminofعِبَادِيَʿibādiyaMy slavesالشَّكُورُl-shakūru(are) grateful
  14. 14فَلَمَّاfalammāThen whenقَضَيْنَاqaḍaynāWe decreedعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor himالْمَوْتَl-mawtathe deathمَاnotدَلَّهُمْdallahumindicated to themعَلَىʿalā[on]مَوْتِهِmawtihihis deathإِلَّاillāexceptدَابَّةُdābbatua creatureالْأَرْضِl-arḍi(of) the earthتَأْكُلُtakulueatingمِنْسَأَتَهُminsa-atahuhis staffفَلَمَّاfalammāBut whenخَرَّkharrahe fell downتَبَيَّنَتِtabayyanatibecame clearالْجِنُّl-jinu(to) the jinnأَنْanthatلَوْlawifكَانُواkānūthey hadيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknownالْغَيْبَl-ghaybathe unseenمَاnotلَبِثُواlabithūthey (would have) remainedفِيinالْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābithe punishmentالْمُهِينِl-muhīnihumiliating
  15. 15لَقَدْlaqadCertainlyكَانَkāna(there) wasلِسَبَإٍlisaba-infor Sabaفِيinمَسْكَنِهِمْmaskanihimtheir dwelling placeءَايَةٌāyatuna sign:جَنَّتَانِjannatāniTwo gardensعَنْʿanonيَمِينٍyamīnin(the) rightوَشِمَالٍwashimālinand (on the) leftكُلُواkulūEatمِنْminfromرِزْقِriz'qi(the) provisionرَبِّكُمْrabbikum(of) your Lordوَاشْكُرُواwa-ush'kurūand be gratefulلَهُlahuto HimبَلْدَةٌbaldatunA landطَيِّبَةٌṭayyibatungoodوَرَبٌّwarabbunand a LordغَفُورٌghafūrunOft-Forgiving
  16. 16فَأَعْرَضُواfa-aʿraḍūBut they turned awayفَأَرْسَلْنَاfa-arsalnāso We sentعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimupon themسَيْلَsayla(the) floodالْعَرِمِl-ʿarimi(of) the damوَبَدَّلْنَاهُمْwabaddalnāhumand We changed for themبِجَنَّتَيْهِمْbijannatayhimtheir two gardensجَنَّتَيْنِjannatayni(with) two gardensذَوَاتَيْdhawātayproducing fruitأُكُلٍukulinproducing fruitخَمْطٍkhamṭinbitterوَأَثْلٍwa-athlinand tamarisksوَشَيْءٍwashayinand (some)thingمِنْminofسِدْرٍsid'rinlote treesقَلِيلٍqalīlinfew
  17. 17ذَلِكَdhālikaThatجَزَيْنَاهُمْjazaynāhumWe recompensed themبِمَاbimābecauseكَفَرُواkafarūthey disbelievedوَهَلْwahalAnd notنُجَازِيnujāzīWe recompenseإِلَّاillāexceptالْكَفُورَl-kafūrathe ungrateful
  18. 18وَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāAnd We madeبَيْنَهُمْbaynahumbetween themوَبَيْنَwabaynaand betweenالْقُرَىl-qurāthe townsالَّتِيallatīwhichبَارَكْنَاbāraknāWe had blessedفِيهَاfīhāin itقُرًىqurantownsظَاهِرَةًẓāhiratanvisibleوَقَدَّرْنَاwaqaddarnāAnd We determinedفِيهَاfīhābetween themالسَّيْرَl-sayrathe journeyسِيرُواsīrūTravelفِيهَاfīhābetween themلَيَالِيَlayāliya(by) nightوَأَيَّامًاwa-ayyāmanand (by) dayءَامِنِينَāminīnasafely
  19. 19فَقَالُواfaqālūBut they saidرَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lordبَاعِدْbāʿidlengthen (the distance)بَيْنَbaynabetweenأَسْفَارِنَاasfārināour journeysوَظَلَمُواwaẓalamūAnd they wrongedأَنْفُسَهُمْanfusahumthemselvesفَجَعَلْنَاهُمْfajaʿalnāhumso We made themأَحَادِيثَaḥādīthanarrationsوَمَزَّقْنَاهُمْwamazzaqnāhumand We dispersed themكُلَّkulla(in) a totalمُمَزَّقٍmumazzaqindispersionإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَاتٍlaāyātinsurely (are) Signsلِكُلِّlikullifor everyoneصَبَّارٍṣabbārinpatientشَكُورٍshakūrin(and) grateful
  20. 20وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyصَدَّقَṣaddaqafound trueعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimabout themإِبْلِيسُib'līsuIblisظَنَّهُẓannahuhis assumptionفَاتَّبَعُوهُfa-ittabaʿūhuso they followed himإِلَّاillāexceptفَرِيقًاfarīqana groupمِنَminaofالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
  21. 21وَمَاwamāAnd notكَانَkānawasلَهُlahufor himعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimover themمِنْminanyسُلْطَانٍsul'ṭāninauthorityإِلَّاillāexceptلِنَعْلَمَlinaʿlamathat We (might) make evidentمَنْmanwhoيُؤْمِنُyu'minubelievesبِالْءَاخِرَةِbil-ākhiratiin the Hereafterمِمَّنْmimmanfrom (one) whoهُوَhuwa[he]مِنْهَاmin'hāabout itفِي(is) inشَكٍّshakkindoubtوَرَبُّكَwarabbukaAnd your Lordعَلَىʿalāoverكُلِّkulliallشَيْءٍshayinthingsحَفِيظٌḥafīẓun(is) a Guardian
  22. 22قُلِquliSayادْعُواid'ʿūCall uponالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whomزَعَمْتُمْzaʿamtumyou claimمِنْminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesاللَّهِl-lahiAllahلَاNotيَمْلِكُونَyamlikūnathey possessمِثْقَالَmith'qāla(the) weightذَرَّةٍdharratin(of) an atomفِيinالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَلَاwalāand notفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَمَاwamāand notلَهُمْlahumfor themفِيهِمَاfīhimāin both of themمِنْminanyشِرْكٍshir'kinpartnershipوَمَاwamāand notلَهُlahufor Himمِنْهُمْmin'humfrom themمِنْminanyظَهِيرٍẓahīrinsupporter
  23. 23وَلَاwalāAnd notتَنْفَعُtanfaʿubenefitsالشَّفَاعَةُl-shafāʿatuthe intercessionعِنْدَهُʿindahuwith Himإِلَّاillāexceptلِمَنْlimanfor (one) whomأَذِنَadhinaHe permitsلَهُlahufor himحَتَّىḥattāUntilإِذَاidhāwhenفُزِّعَfuzziʿafear is removedعَنْʿanonقُلُوبِهِمْqulūbihimtheir heartsقَالُواqālūthey will sayمَاذَاmādhāWhat is thatقَالَqālayour Lord has saidرَبُّكُمْrabbukumyour Lord has saidقَالُواqālūThey will sayالْحَقَّl-ḥaqaThe truthوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالْعَلِيُّl-ʿaliyu(is) the Most Highالْكَبِيرُl-kabīruthe Most Great
  24. 24قُلْqulSayمَنْmanWhoيَرْزُقُكُمْyarzuqukumprovides (for) youمِنَminafromالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthقُلِquliSayاللَّهُl-lahuAllahوَإِنَّاwa-innāAnd indeed weأَوْaworإِيَّاكُمْiyyākumyouلَعَلَىlaʿalā(are) surely uponهُدًىhudanguidanceأَوْaworفِيinضَلَالٍḍalālinerrorمُبِينٍmubīninclear
  25. 25قُلْqulSayلَاNotتُسْءَلُونَtus'alūnayou will be askedعَمَّاʿammāabout whatأَجْرَمْنَاajramnā(the) sins we committedوَلَاwalāand notنُسْءَلُnus'aluwe will be askedعَمَّاʿammāabout whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou do
  26. 26قُلْqulSayيَجْمَعُyajmaʿuWill gatherبَيْنَنَاbaynanāus togetherرَبُّنَاrabbunāour LordثُمَّthummathenيَفْتَحُyaftaḥuHe will judgeبَيْنَنَاbaynanābetween usبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truthوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالْفَتَّاحُl-fatāḥu(is) the Judgeالْعَلِيمُl-ʿalīmuthe All-Knowing
  27. 27قُلْqulSayأَرُونِيَarūniyaShow meالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whomأَلْحَقْتُمْalḥaqtumyou have joinedبِهِbihiwith Himشُرَكَاءَshurakāa(as) partnersكَلَّاkallāBy no means!بَلْbalNayهُوَhuwaHeاللَّهُl-lahu(is) Allahالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzuthe All-Mightyالْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
  28. 28وَمَاwamāAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاكَarsalnākaWe have sent youإِلَّاillāexceptكَافَّةًkāffataninclusivelyلِلنَّاسِlilnnāsito mankindبَشِيرًاbashīran(as) a giver of glad tidingsوَنَذِيرًاwanadhīranand (as) a warnerوَلَكِنَّwalākinnaButأَكْثَرَaktharamostالنَّاسِl-nāsi[the] peopleلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
  29. 29وَيَقُولُونَwayaqūlūnaAnd they sayمَتَىmatāWhenهَذَاhādhā(is) thisالْوَعْدُl-waʿdupromiseإِنْinifكُنْتُمْkuntumyou areصَادِقِينَṣādiqīnatruthful
  30. 30قُلْqulSayلَكُمْlakumFor youمِيعَادُmīʿādu(is the) appointmentيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a Dayلَاnotتَسْتَءْخِرُونَtastakhirūnayou can postponeعَنْهُʿanhu[of] itسَاعَةًsāʿatan(for) an hourوَلَاwalāand notتَسْتَقْدِمُونَtastaqdimūna(can) you precede (it)
  31. 31وَقَالَwaqālaAnd sayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveلَنْlanNever willنُؤْمِنَnu'minawe believeبِهَذَاbihādhāin thisالْقُرْءَانِl-qur'āniQuranوَلَاwalāand notبِالَّذِيbi-alladhīin (that) whichبَيْنَbayna(was) before itيَدَيْهِyadayhi(was) before itوَلَوْwalawBut ifتَرَىtarāyou (could) seeإِذِidhiwhenالظَّالِمُونَl-ẓālimūnathe wrongdoersمَوْقُوفُونَmawqūfūnawill be made to standعِنْدَʿindabeforeرَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lordيَرْجِعُyarjiʿuwill throw backبَعْضُهُمْbaʿḍuhumsome of themإِلَىilātoبَعْضٍbaʿḍinothersالْقَوْلَl-qawlathe wordيَقُولُyaqūluWill sayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoاسْتُضْعِفُواus'tuḍ'ʿifūwere oppressedلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoاسْتَكْبَرُواis'takbarūwere arrogantلَوْلَاlawlāIf notأَنْتُمْantum(for) youلَكُنَّاlakunnācertainly we (would) have beenمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
  32. 32قَالَqālaWill sayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoاسْتَكْبَرُواis'takbarūwere arrogantلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato thoseاسْتُضْعِفُواus'tuḍ'ʿifūwho were oppressedأَنَحْنُanaḥnuDid weصَدَدْنَاكُمْṣadadnākumavert youعَنِʿanifromالْهُدَىl-hudāthe guidanceبَعْدَbaʿdaafterإِذْidhwhenجَاءَكُمْjāakumit had come to youبَلْbalNayكُنْتُمْkuntumyou wereمُجْرِمِينَmuj'rimīnacriminals
  33. 33وَقَالَwaqālaAnd will sayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoاسْتُضْعِفُواus'tuḍ'ʿifūwere oppressedلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoاسْتَكْبَرُواis'takbarūwere arrogantبَلْbalNayمَكْرُmakru(it was) a plotاللَّيْلِal-layli(by) nightوَالنَّهَارِwal-nahāriand (by) dayإِذْidhwhenتَأْمُرُونَنَاtamurūnanāyou were ordering usأَنْanthatنَكْفُرَnakfurawe disbelieveبِاللَّهِbil-lahiin Allahوَنَجْعَلَwanajʿalaand we set upلَهُlahufor Himأَنْدَادًاandādanequalsوَأَسَرُّواwa-asarrūBut they will concealالنَّدَامَةَl-nadāmatathe regretلَمَّاlammāwhenرَأَوُاra-awūthey seeالْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentوَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāAnd We will putالْأَغْلَالَl-aghlālashacklesفِيonأَعْنَاقِaʿnāqi(the) necksالَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedهَلْhalWillيُجْزَوْنَyuj'zawnathey be recompensedإِلَّاillāexceptمَا(for) whatكَانُواkānūthey used toيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
  34. 34وَمَاwamāAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentفِيtoقَرْيَةٍqaryatina townمِنْminanyنَذِيرٍnadhīrinwarnerإِلَّاillābutقَالَqālasaidمُتْرَفُوهَاmut'rafūhāits wealthy onesإِنَّاinnāIndeed weبِمَاbimāin whatأُرْسِلْتُمْur'sil'tumyou have been sentبِهِbihiwithكَافِرُونَkāfirūna(are) disbelievers
  35. 35وَقَالُواwaqālūAnd they sayنَحْنُnaḥnuWeأَكْثَرُaktharu(have) moreأَمْوَالًاamwālanwealthوَأَوْلَادًاwa-awlādanand childrenوَمَاwamāand notنَحْنُnaḥnuweبِمُعَذَّبِينَbimuʿadhabīnawill be punished
  36. 36قُلْqulSayإِنَّinnaIndeedرَبِّيrabbīmy Lordيَبْسُطُyabsuṭuextendsالرِّزْقَl-riz'qathe provisionلِمَنْlimanfor whomيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsوَيَقْدِرُwayaqdiruand restrictsوَلَكِنَّwalākinnabutأَكْثَرَaktharamostالنَّاسِl-nāsi[the] peopleلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
  37. 37وَمَاwamāAnd notأَمْوَالُكُمْamwālukumyour wealthوَلَاwalāand notأَوْلَادُكُمْawlādukumyour childrenبِالَّتِيbi-allatī[that]تُقَرِّبُكُمْtuqarribukumwill bring you closeعِنْدَنَاʿindanāto Usزُلْفَىzul'fā(in) positionإِلَّاillābutمَنْmanwhoeverءَامَنَāmanabelievesوَعَمِلَwaʿamilaand doesصَالِحًاṣāliḥanrighteousnessفَأُولَئِكَfa-ulāikathen thoseلَهُمْlahumfor themجَزَاءُjazāu(will be) rewardالضِّعْفِl-ḍiʿ'fitwo-foldبِمَاbimāfor whatعَمِلُواʿamilūthey didوَهُمْwahumand theyفِي(will be) inالْغُرُفَاتِl-ghurufātithe high dwellingsءَامِنُونَāminūnasecure
  38. 38وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoيَسْعَوْنَyasʿawnastriveفِيagainstءَايَاتِنَاāyātināOur Versesمُعَاجِزِينَmuʿājizīna(to) cause failureأُولَئِكَulāikathoseفِيintoالْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābithe punishmentمُحْضَرُونَmuḥ'ḍarūna(will be) brought
  39. 39قُلْqulSayإِنَّinnaIndeedرَبِّيrabbīmy Lordيَبْسُطُyabsuṭuextendsالرِّزْقَl-riz'qathe provisionلِمَنْlimanfor whomيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsمِنْminofعِبَادِهِʿibādihiHis slavesوَيَقْدِرُwayaqdiruand restrictsلَهُlahufor himوَمَاwamāBut whatأَنْفَقْتُمْanfaqtumyou spendمِنْminofشَيْءٍshayinanythingفَهُوَfahuwathen Heيُخْلِفُهُyukh'lifuhuwill compensate itوَهُوَwahuwaand Heخَيْرُkhayru(is the) Bestالرَّازِقِينَl-rāziqīna(of) the Providers
  40. 40وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) DayيَحْشُرُهُمْyaḥshuruhumHe will gather themجَمِيعًاjamīʿanallثُمَّthummathenيَقُولُyaqūluHe will sayلِلْمَلَائِكَةِlil'malāikatito the AngelsأَهَؤُلَاءِahāulāiWere these youإِيَّاكُمْiyyākumWere these youكَانُواkānūthey wereيَعْبُدُونَyaʿbudūnaworshipping
  41. 41قَالُواqālūThey will sayسُبْحَانَكَsub'ḥānakaGlory be to YouأَنْتَantaYouوَلِيُّنَاwaliyyunā(are) our Protectorمِنْminnot themدُونِهِمْdūnihimnot themبَلْbalNayكَانُواkānūthey usedيَعْبُدُونَyaʿbudūna(to) worshipالْجِنَّl-jinathe jinnأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themبِهِمْbihimin themمُؤْمِنُونَmu'minūna(were) believers
  42. 42فَالْيَوْمَfal-yawmaBut todayلَاnotيَمْلِكُyamlikupossess powerبَعْضُكُمْbaʿḍukumsome of youلِبَعْضٍlibaʿḍinon othersنَفْعًاnafʿanto benefitوَلَاwalāand notضَرًّاḍarranto harmوَنَقُولُwanaqūluand We will sayلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato thoseظَلَمُواẓalamūwho wrongedذُوقُواdhūqūTasteعَذَابَʿadhāba(the) punishmentالنَّارِl-nāri(of) the Fireالَّتِيallatīwhichكُنْتُمْkuntumyou usedبِهَاbihāto [it]تُكَذِّبُونَtukadhibūnadeny
  43. 43وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenتُتْلَىtut'lāare recitedعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themءَايَاتُنَاāyātunāOur Versesبَيِّنَاتٍbayyinātinclearقَالُواqālūthey sayمَاNotهَذَاhādhā(is) thisإِلَّاillābutرَجُلٌrajuluna manيُرِيدُyurīduwho wishesأَنْantoيَصُدَّكُمْyaṣuddakumhinder youعَمَّاʿammāfrom whatكَانَkānausedيَعْبُدُyaʿbudu(to) worshipءَابَاؤُكُمْābāukumyour forefathersوَقَالُواwaqālūAnd they sayمَاNotهَذَاhādhā(is) thisإِلَّاillāexceptإِفْكٌif'kuna lieمُفْتَرًىmuf'taraninventedوَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedلِلْحَقِّlil'ḥaqqiabout the truthلَمَّاlammāwhenجَاءَهُمْjāahumit came to themإِنْinNotهَذَاhādhā(is) thisإِلَّاillāexceptسِحْرٌsiḥ'runa magicمُبِينٌmubīnunobvious
  44. 44وَمَاwamāAnd notءَاتَيْنَاهُمْātaynāhumWe (had) given themمِنْminanyكُتُبٍkutubinScripturesيَدْرُسُونَهَاyadrusūnahāwhich they could studyوَمَاwamāand notأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentإِلَيْهِمْilayhimto themقَبْلَكَqablakabefore youمِنْminanyنَذِيرٍnadhīrinwarner
  45. 45وَكَذَّبَwakadhabaAnd deniedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoمِنْmin(were) before themقَبْلِهِمْqablihim(were) before themوَمَاwamāand notبَلَغُواbalaghūthey have attainedمِعْشَارَmiʿ'shāraa tenthمَا(of) whatءَاتَيْنَاهُمْātaynāhumWe (had) given themفَكَذَّبُواfakadhabūBut they deniedرُسُلِيrusulīMy Messengersفَكَيْفَfakayfaso howكَانَkānawasنَكِيرِnakīriMy rejection
  46. 46قُلْqulSayإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyأَعِظُكُمْaʿiẓukumI advise youبِوَاحِدَةٍbiwāḥidatinfor one (thing)أَنْanthatتَقُومُواtaqūmūyou standلِلَّهِlillahifor Allahمَثْنَىmathnā(in) pairsوَفُرَادَىwafurādāand (as) individualsثُمَّthummathenتَتَفَكَّرُواtatafakkarūreflectمَاNotبِصَاحِبِكُمْbiṣāḥibikum(is in) your companionمِنْminanyجِنَّةٍjinnatinmadnessإِنْinNotهُوَhuwaheإِلَّاillā(is) exceptنَذِيرٌnadhīruna warnerلَكُمْlakumfor youبَيْنَbaynabeforeيَدَيْyadaybeforeعَذَابٍʿadhābina punishmentشَدِيدٍshadīdinsevere
  47. 47قُلْqulSayمَاNotسَأَلْتُكُمْsa-altukumI ask youمِنْminforأَجْرٍajrinany paymentفَهُوَfahuwabut it (is)لَكُمْlakumfor youإِنْinNotأَجْرِيَajriya(is) my paymentإِلَّاillābutعَلَىʿalāfromاللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heعَلَىʿalā(is) overكُلِّkulliallشَيْءٍshayinthingsشَهِيدٌshahīduna Witness
  48. 48قُلْqulSayإِنَّinnaIndeedرَبِّيrabbīmy Lordيَقْذِفُyaqdhifuprojectsبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqithe truthعَلَّامُʿallāmu(the) All-Knowerالْغُيُوبِl-ghuyūbi(of) the unseen
  49. 49قُلْqulSayجَاءَjāaHas comeالْحَقُّl-ḥaquthe truthوَمَاwamāand notيُبْدِئُyub'di-u(can) originateالْبَاطِلُl-bāṭiluthe falsehoodوَمَاwamāand notيُعِيدُyuʿīdurepeat
  50. 50قُلْqulSayإِنْinIfضَلَلْتُḍalaltuI errفَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen onlyأَضِلُّaḍilluI will errعَلَىʿalāagainstنَفْسِيnafsīmyselfوَإِنِwa-iniBut ifاهْتَدَيْتُih'tadaytuI am guidedفَبِمَاfabimāthen it is by whatيُوحِيyūḥīrevealsإِلَيَّilayyato meرَبِّيrabbīmy LordإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed Heسَمِيعٌsamīʿun(is) All-HearerقَرِيبٌqarībunEver-Near
  51. 51وَلَوْwalawAnd ifتَرَىtarāyou (could) seeإِذْidhwhenفَزِعُواfaziʿūthey will be terrifiedفَلَاfalābut (there will be) noفَوْتَfawtaescapeوَأُخِذُواwa-ukhidhūand they will be seizedمِنْminfromمَكَانٍmakānina placeقَرِيبٍqarībinnear
  52. 52وَقَالُواwaqālūAnd they will sayءَامَنَّاāmannāWe believeبِهِbihiin itوَأَنَّىwa-annāBut howلَهُمُlahumufor themالتَّنَاوُشُl-tanāwushu(will be) the receivingمِنْminfromمَكَانٍmakānina placeبَعِيدٍbaʿīdinfar off
  53. 53وَقَدْwaqadAnd certainlyكَفَرُواkafarūthey disbelievedبِهِbihiin itمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeوَيَقْذِفُونَwayaqdhifūnaAnd they utter conjecturesبِالْغَيْبِbil-ghaybiabout the unseenمِنْminfromمَكَانٍmakānina placeبَعِيدٍbaʿīdinfar off
  54. 54وَحِيلَwaḥīlaAnd a barrier will be placedبَيْنَهُمْbaynahumbetween themوَبَيْنَwabaynaand betweenمَاwhatيَشْتَهُونَyashtahūnathey desireكَمَاkamāasفُعِلَfuʿilawas doneبِأَشْيَاعِهِمْbi-ashyāʿihimwith their kindمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed, theyكَانُواkānūwereفِيinشَكٍّshakkindoubtمُرِيبٍmurībindisquieting
