Surah 33 — Al-Ahzaab

1. 1يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO (Prophet)النَّبِيُّl-nabiyu(O) ProphetاتَّقِittaqiFearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَلَاwalāand (do) notتُطِعِtuṭiʿiobeyالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelieversوَالْمُنَافِقِينَwal-munāfiqīnaand the hypocritesإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَانَkānaisعَلِيمًاʿalīmanAll-KnowerحَكِيمًاḥakīmanAll-Wise
2. 2وَاتَّبِعْwa-ittabiʿAnd followمَاmāwhatيُوحَىyūḥāis inspiredإِلَيْكَilaykato youمِنْminfromرَبِّكَrabbikayour LordإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَانَkānaisبِمَاbimāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou doخَبِيرًاkhabīranAll-Aware
3. 3وَتَوَكَّلْwatawakkalAnd put your trustعَلَىʿalāinاللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَكَفَىwakafāAnd Allah is sufficientبِاللَّهِbil-lahiAnd Allah is sufficientوَكِيلًاwakīlan(as) Disposer of affairs
4. 4مَاmāNotجَعَلَjaʿalaAllah (has) madeاللَّهُl-lahuAllah (has) madeلِرَجُلٍlirajulinfor any manمِنْmin[of]قَلْبَيْنِqalbaynitwo heartsفِيfīinجَوْفِهِjawfihihis interiorوَمَاwamāAnd notجَعَلَjaʿalaHe (has) madeأَزْوَاجَكُمُazwājakumuyour wivesاللَّائِيallāīwhomتُظَاهِرُونَtuẓāhirūnayou declare unlawfulمِنْهُنَّmin'hunna[of them]أُمَّهَاتِكُمْummahātikum(as) your mothersوَمَاwamāAnd notجَعَلَjaʿalaHe has madeأَدْعِيَاءَكُمْadʿiyāakumyour adopted sonsأَبْنَاءَكُمْabnāakumyour sonsذَلِكُمْdhālikumThatقَوْلُكُمْqawlukum(is) your sayingبِأَفْوَاهِكُمْbi-afwāhikumby your mouthsوَاللَّهُwal-lahubut Allahيَقُولُyaqūlusaysالْحَقَّl-ḥaqathe truthوَهُوَwahuwaand Heيَهْدِيyahdīguidesالسَّبِيلَl-sabīla(to) the Way
5. 5ادْعُوهُمْid'ʿūhumCall themلِءَابَائِهِمْliābāihimby their fathersهُوَhuwaitأَقْسَطُaqsaṭu(is) more justعِنْدَʿindanearاللَّهِl-lahiAllahفَإِنْfa-inBut ifلَمْlamnotتَعْلَمُواtaʿlamūyou knowءَابَاءَهُمْābāahumtheir fathersفَإِخْوَانُكُمْfa-ikh'wānukumthen (they are) your brothersفِيfīinالدِّينِl-dīni[the] religionوَمَوَالِيكُمْwamawālīkumand your friendsوَلَيْسَwalaysaBut not isعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon youجُنَاحٌjunāḥunany blameفِيمَاfīmāin whatأَخْطَأْتُمْakhṭatumyou made a mistakeبِهِbihiin itوَلَكِنْwalākinbutمَاmāwhatتَعَمَّدَتْtaʿammadatintendedقُلُوبُكُمْqulūbukumyour heartsوَكَانَwakānaAnd Allahاللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allahغَفُورًاghafūran(is) Oft-ForgivingرَحِيمًاraḥīmanMost Merciful
6. 6النَّبِيُّal-nabiyuThe Prophetأَوْلَىawlā(is) closerبِالْمُؤْمِنِينَbil-mu'minīnato the believersمِنْminthanأَنْفُسِهِمْanfusihimtheir own selvesوَأَزْوَاجُهُwa-azwājuhuand his wivesأُمَّهَاتُهُمْummahātuhum(are) their mothersوَأُولُواwa-ulūAnd possessorsالْأَرْحَامِl-arḥāmi(of) relationshipsبَعْضُهُمْbaʿḍuhumsome of themأَوْلَىawlā(are) closerبِبَعْضٍbibaʿḍinto anotherفِيfīinكِتَابِkitābi(the) Decreeاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahمِنَminathanالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believersوَالْمُهَاجِرِينَwal-muhājirīnaand the emigrantsإِلَّاillāexceptأَنْanthatتَفْعَلُواtafʿalūyou doإِلَىilātoأَوْلِيَائِكُمْawliyāikumyour friendsمَعْرُوفًاmaʿrūfana kindnessكَانَkānaThat isذَلِكَdhālikaThat isفِيfīinالْكِتَابِl-kitābithe Bookمَسْطُورًاmasṭūranwritten
7. 7وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenأَخَذْنَاakhadhnāWe tookمِنَminafromالنَّبِيِّينَl-nabiyīnathe Prophetsمِيثَاقَهُمْmīthāqahumtheir Covenantوَمِنْكَwaminkaand from youوَمِنْwaminand fromنُوحٍnūḥinNuhوَإِبْرَاهِيمَwa-ib'rāhīmaand Ibrahimوَمُوسَىwamūsāand Musaوَعِيسَىwaʿīsāand Isaابْنِib'nisonمَرْيَمَmaryama(of) Maryamوَأَخَذْنَاwa-akhadhnāAnd We tookمِنْهُمْmin'humfrom themمِيثَاقًاmīthāqana covenantغَلِيظًاghalīẓanstrong
8. 8لِيَسْءَلَliyasalaThat He may askالصَّادِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthfulعَنْʿanaboutصِدْقِهِمْṣid'qihimtheir truthوَأَعَدَّwa-aʿaddaAnd He has preparedلِلْكَافِرِينَlil'kāfirīnafor the disbelieversعَذَابًاʿadhābana punishmentأَلِيمًاalīmanpainful
9. 9يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO youالَّذِينَalladhīnawhoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveاذْكُرُواudh'kurūRememberنِعْمَةَniʿ'mata(the) Favorاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon youإِذْidhwhenجَاءَتْكُمْjāatkumcame to youجُنُودٌjunūdun(the) hostsفَأَرْسَلْنَاfa-arsalnāand We sentعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimupon themرِيحًاrīḥana windوَجُنُودًاwajunūdanand hostsلَمْlamnotتَرَوْهَاtarawhāyou (could) see themوَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah isاللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah isبِمَاbimāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou doبَصِيرًاbaṣīranAll-Seer
10. 10إِذْidhWhenجَاءُوكُمْjāūkumthey came upon youمِنْminfromفَوْقِكُمْfawqikumabove youوَمِنْwaminand fromأَسْفَلَasfalabelowمِنْكُمْminkumyouوَإِذْwa-idhand whenزَاغَتِzāghatigrew wildالْأَبْصَارُl-abṣāruthe eyesوَبَلَغَتِwabalaghatiand reachedالْقُلُوبُl-qulūbuthe heartsالْحَنَاجِرَl-ḥanājirathe throatsوَتَظُنُّونَwataẓunnūnaand you assumedبِاللَّهِbil-lahiabout Allahالظُّنُونَاl-ẓunūnāthe assumptions
11. 11هُنَالِكَhunālikaThereابْتُلِيَub'tuliyawere triedالْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūnathe believersوَزُلْزِلُواwazul'zilūand shakenزِلْزَالًاzil'zālan(with a) shakeشَدِيدًاshadīdansevere
12. 12وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenيَقُولُyaqūlusaidالْمُنَافِقُونَl-munāfiqūnathe hypocritesوَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand thoseفِيfīinقُلُوبِهِمْqulūbihimtheir heartsمَرَضٌmaraḍun(was) a diseaseمَاmāNotوَعَدَنَاwaʿadanāAllah promised usاللَّهُl-lahuAllah promised usوَرَسُولُهُwarasūluhuand His messengerإِلَّاillāexceptغُرُورًاghurūrandelusion
13. 13وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenقَالَتْqālatsaidطَائِفَةٌṭāifatuna partyمِنْهُمْmin'humof themيَاأَهْلَyāahlaO Peopleيَثْرِبَyathriba(of) Yathrib!لَاlāNoمُقَامَmuqāmastandلَكُمْlakumfor youفَارْجِعُواfa-ir'jiʿūso returnوَيِسْتَءْذِنُwayastadhinuAnd asked permissionفَرِيقٌfarīquna groupمِنْهُمُmin'humuof themالنَّبِيَّl-nabiya(from) the ProphetيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasayingإِنَّinnaIndeedبُيُوتَنَاbuyūtanāour housesعَوْرَةٌʿawratun(are) exposedوَمَاwamāand notهِيَhiyatheyبِعَوْرَةٍbiʿawratin(were) exposedإِنْinNotيُرِيدُونَyurīdūnathey wishedإِلَّاillābutفِرَارًاfirāranto flee
14. 14وَلَوْwalawAnd ifدُخِلَتْdukhilathad been enteredعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimupon themمِنْminfromأَقْطَارِهَاaqṭārihāall its sidesثُمَّthummathenسُئِلُواsu-ilūthey had been askedالْفِتْنَةَl-fit'natathe treacheryلَءَاتَوْهَاlaātawhāthey (would) have certainly done itوَمَاwamāand notتَلَبَّثُواtalabbathūthey (would) have hesitatedبِهَاbihāover itإِلَّاillāexceptيَسِيرًاyasīrana little
15. 15وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyكَانُواkānūthey hadعَاهَدُواʿāhadūpromisedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeلَاlānotيُوَلُّونَyuwallūnathey would turnالْأَدْبَارَl-adbāratheir backsوَكَانَwakānaAnd isعَهْدُʿahdu(the) promiseاللَّهِl-lahi(to) Allahمَسْءُولًاmasūlanto be questioned
16. 16قُلْqulSayلَنْlanNeverيَنْفَعَكُمُyanfaʿakumuwill benefit youالْفِرَارُl-firāruthe fleeingإِنْinifفَرَرْتُمْfarartumyou fleeمِنَminafromالْمَوْتِl-mawtideathأَوِawiorالْقَتْلِl-qatlikillingوَإِذًاwa-idhanand thenلَاlānotتُمَتَّعُونَtumattaʿūnayou will be allowed to enjoyإِلَّاillāexceptقَلِيلًاqalīlana little
17. 17قُلْqulSayمَنْmanWhoذَاdhā(is) it thatالَّذِيalladhī(is) it thatيَعْصِمُكُمْyaʿṣimukum(can) protect youمِنَminafromاللَّهِl-lahiAllahإِنْinIfأَرَادَarādaHe intendsبِكُمْbikumfor youسُوءًاsūanany harmأَوْaworأَرَادَarādaHe intendsبِكُمْbikumfor youرَحْمَةًraḥmatana mercyوَلَاwalāAnd notيَجِدُونَyajidūnathey will findلَهُمْlahumfor themمِنْminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesاللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَلِيًّاwaliyyanany protectorوَلَاwalāand notنَصِيرًاnaṣīranany helper
18. 18قَدْqadVerilyيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuAllah knowsاللَّهُl-lahuAllah knowsالْمُعَوِّقِينَl-muʿawiqīnathose who hinderمِنْكُمْminkumamong youوَالْقَائِلِينَwal-qāilīnaand those who sayلِإِخْوَانِهِمْli-ikh'wānihimto their brothersهَلُمَّhalummaComeإِلَيْنَاilaynāto usوَلَاwalāand notيَأْتُونَyatūnathey comeالْبَأْسَl-basa(to) the battleإِلَّاillāexceptقَلِيلًاqalīlana few
19. 19أَشِحَّةًashiḥḥatanMiserlyعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumtowards youفَإِذَاfa-idhāBut whenجَاءَjāacomesالْخَوْفُl-khawfuthe fearرَأَيْتَهُمْra-aytahumyou see themيَنْظُرُونَyanẓurūnalookingإِلَيْكَilaykaat youتَدُورُtadūrurevolvingأَعْيُنُهُمْaʿyunuhumtheir eyesكَالَّذِيka-alladhīlike one whoيُغْشَىyugh'shāfaintsعَلَيْهِʿalayhifaintsمِنَminafromالْمَوْتِl-mawti[the] deathفَإِذَاfa-idhāBut whenذَهَبَdhahabadepartsالْخَوْفُl-khawfuthe fearسَلَقُوكُمْsalaqūkumthey smite youبِأَلْسِنَةٍbi-alsinatinwith tonguesحِدَادٍḥidādinsharpأَشِحَّةًashiḥḥatanmiserlyعَلَىʿalātowardsالْخَيْرِl-khayrithe goodأُولَئِكَulāikaThoseلَمْlamnotيُؤْمِنُواyu'minūthey have believedفَأَحْبَطَfa-aḥbaṭaso Allah made worthlessاللَّهُl-lahuso Allah made worthlessأَعْمَالَهُمْaʿmālahumtheir deedsوَكَانَwakānaAnd isذَلِكَdhālikathatعَلَىʿalāforاللَّهِl-lahiAllahيَسِيرًاyasīraneasy
20. 20يَحْسَبُونَyaḥsabūnaThey thinkالْأَحْزَابَl-aḥzābathe confederatesلَمْlam(have) notيَذْهَبُواyadhhabūwithdrawnوَإِنْwa-inAnd ifيَأْتِyati(should) comeالْأَحْزَابُl-aḥzābuthe confederatesيَوَدُّواyawaddūthey would wishلَوْlawifأَنَّهُمْannahumthat they (were)بَادُونَbādūnaliving in (the) desertفِيfīamongالْأَعْرَابِl-aʿrābithe Bedouinsيَسْءَلُونَyasalūnaaskingعَنْʿanaboutأَنْبَائِكُمْanbāikumyour newsوَلَوْwalawAnd ifكَانُواkānūthey wereفِيكُمْfīkumamong youمَاmānotقَاتَلُواqātalūthey would fightإِلَّاillāexceptقَلِيلًاqalīlana little
21. 21لَقَدْlaqadCertainlyكَانَkānaisلَكُمْlakumfor youفِيfīinرَسُولِrasūli(the) Messengerاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahأُسْوَةٌus'watunan excellent exampleحَسَنَةٌḥasanatunan excellent exampleلِمَنْlimanfor (one) whoكَانَkānahasيَرْجُواyarjūhopeاللَّهَl-laha(in) Allahوَالْيَوْمَwal-yawmaand the Dayالْءَاخِرَl-ākhirathe Lastوَذَكَرَwadhakaraand remembersاللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَثِيرًاkathīranmuch
22. 22وَلَمَّاwalammāAnd whenرَءَاraāsawالْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūnathe believersالْأَحْزَابَl-aḥzābathe confederatesقَالُواqālūthey saidهَذَاhādhāThisمَاmā(is) whatوَعَدَنَاwaʿadanāAllah promised usاللَّهُl-lahuAllah promised usوَرَسُولُهُwarasūluhuand His Messengerوَصَدَقَwaṣadaqaand Allah spoke the truthاللَّهُl-lahuand Allah spoke the truthوَرَسُولُهُwarasūluhuand His MessengerوَمَاwamāAnd notزَادَهُمْzādahumit increased themإِلَّاillāexceptإِيمَانًاīmānan(in) faithوَتَسْلِيمًاwataslīmanand submission
23. 23مِنَminaAmongالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believersرِجَالٌrijālun(are) menصَدَقُواṣadaqū(who) have been trueمَاmā(to) whatعَاهَدُواʿāhadūthey promised Allahاللَّهَl-lahathey promised Allahعَلَيْهِʿalayhi[on it]فَمِنْهُمْfamin'humAnd among themمَنْman(is he) whoقَضَىqaḍāhas fulfilledنَحْبَهُnaḥbahuhis vowوَمِنْهُمْwamin'humand among themمَنْman(is he) whoيَنْتَظِرُyantaẓiruawaitsوَمَاwamāAnd notبَدَّلُواbaddalūthey alterتَبْدِيلًاtabdīlan(by) any alteration
24. 24لِيَجْزِيَliyajziyaThat Allah may rewardاللَّهُl-lahuThat Allah may rewardالصَّادِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthfulبِصِدْقِهِمْbiṣid'qihimfor their truthوَيُعَذِّبَwayuʿadhibaand punishالْمُنَافِقِينَl-munāfiqīnathe hypocritesإِنْinifشَاءَshāaHe willsأَوْaworيَتُوبَyatūbaturn in mercyعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَانَkānaisغَفُورًاghafūranOft-ForgivingرَحِيمًاraḥīmanMost Merciful
25. 25وَرَدَّwaraddaAnd Allah turned backاللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah turned backالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedبِغَيْظِهِمْbighayẓihimin their rageلَمْlamnotيَنَالُواyanālūthey obtainedخَيْرًاkhayranany goodوَكَفَىwakafāAnd sufficient isاللَّهُl-lahuAllahالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīna(for) the believersالْقِتَالَl-qitāla(in) the battleوَكَانَwakānaand Allah isاللَّهُl-lahuand Allah isقَوِيًّاqawiyyanAll-StrongعَزِيزًاʿazīzanAll-Mighty
26. 26وَأَنْزَلَwa-anzalaAnd He brought downالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoظَاهَرُوهُمْẓāharūhumbacked themمِنْminamongأَهْلِahli(the) Peopleالْكِتَابِl-kitābi(of) the Scriptureمِنْminfromصَيَاصِيهِمْṣayāṣīhimtheir fortressesوَقَذَفَwaqadhafaand castفِيfīintoقُلُوبِهِمُqulūbihimutheir heartsالرُّعْبَl-ruʿ'ba[the] terrorفَرِيقًاfarīqana groupتَقْتُلُونَtaqtulūnayou killedوَتَأْسِرُونَwatasirūnaand you took captiveفَرِيقًاfarīqana group
27. 27وَأَوْرَثَكُمْwa-awrathakumAnd He caused you to inheritأَرْضَهُمْarḍahumtheir landوَدِيَارَهُمْwadiyārahumand their housesوَأَمْوَالَهُمْwa-amwālahumand their propertiesوَأَرْضًاwa-arḍanand a landلَمْlamnotتَطَئُوهَاtaṭaūhāyou (had) troddenوَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah isاللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah isعَلَىʿalāonكُلِّkullieveryشَيْءٍshayinthingقَدِيرًاqadīranAll-Powerful
28. 28يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO Prophetالنَّبِيُّl-nabiyuO ProphetقُلْqulSayلِأَزْوَاجِكَli-azwājikato your wivesإِنْinIfكُنْتُنَّkuntunnayouتُرِدْنَturid'nadesireالْحَيَوةَl-ḥayatathe lifeالدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the worldوَزِينَتَهَاwazīnatahāand its adornmentفَتَعَالَيْنَfataʿālaynathen comeأُمَتِّعْكُنَّumattiʿ'kunnaI will provide for youوَأُسَرِّحْكُنَّwa-usarriḥ'kunnaand release youسَرَاحًاsarāḥan(with) a releaseجَمِيلًاjamīlangood
29. 29وَإِنْwa-inBut ifكُنْتُنَّkuntunnayouتُرِدْنَturid'nadesireاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُwarasūlahuand His Messengerوَالدَّارَwal-dāraand the Homeالْءَاخِرَةَl-ākhirata(of) the Hereafterفَإِنَّfa-innathen indeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahأَعَدَّaʿaddahas preparedلِلْمُحْسِنَاتِlil'muḥ'sinātifor the good-doersمِنْكُنَّminkunnaamong youأَجْرًاajrana rewardعَظِيمًاʿaẓīmangreat
30. 30يَانِسَاءَyānisāaO wivesالنَّبِيِّl-nabiyi(of) the ProphetمَنْmanWhoeverيَأْتِyaticommitsمِنْكُنَّminkunnafrom youبِفَاحِشَةٍbifāḥishatinimmoralityمُبَيِّنَةٍmubayyinatinclearيُضَاعَفْyuḍāʿafwill be doubledلَهَاlahāfor herالْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentضِعْفَيْنِḍiʿ'faynitwo foldوَكَانَwakānaAnd that isذَلِكَdhālikaAnd that isعَلَىʿalāforاللَّهِl-lahiAllahيَسِيرًاyasīraneasy
31. 31وَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverيَقْنُتْyaqnutis obedientمِنْكُنَّminkunnaamong youلِلَّهِlillahito Allahوَرَسُولِهِwarasūlihiand His Messengerوَتَعْمَلْwataʿmaland doesصَالِحًاṣāliḥanrighteousnessنُؤْتِهَاnu'tihāWe will give herأَجْرَهَاajrahāher rewardمَرَّتَيْنِmarrataynitwiceوَأَعْتَدْنَاwa-aʿtadnāand We have preparedلَهَاlahāfor herرِزْقًاriz'qana provisionكَرِيمًاkarīmannoble
32. 32يَانِسَاءَyānisāaO wivesالنَّبِيِّl-nabiyi(of) the Prophet!لَسْتُنَّlastunnaYou are notكَأَحَدٍka-aḥadinlike anyoneمِنَminaamongالنِّسَاءِl-nisāithe womenإِنِiniIfاتَّقَيْتُنَّittaqaytunnayou fear (Allah)فَلَاfalāthen (do) notتَخْضَعْنَtakhḍaʿnabe softبِالْقَوْلِbil-qawliin speechفَيَطْمَعَfayaṭmaʿalest should be moved with desireالَّذِيalladhīhe whoفِيfīinقَلْبِهِqalbihihis heartمَرَضٌmaraḍun(is) a diseaseوَقُلْنَwaqul'nabut sayقَوْلًاqawlana wordمَعْرُوفًاmaʿrūfanappropriate
33. 33وَقَرْنَwaqarnaAnd stayفِيfīinبُيُوتِكُنَّbuyūtikunnayour housesوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَبَرَّجْنَtabarrajnadisplay yourselvesتَبَرُّجَtabarruja(as was the) displayالْجَاهِلِيَّةِl-jāhiliyati(of the times of) ignoranceالْأُولَىl-ūlāthe formerوَأَقِمْنَwa-aqim'naAnd establishالصَّلَوةَl-ṣalatathe prayerوَءَاتِينَwaātīnaand giveالزَّكَوةَl-zakatazakahوَأَطِعْنَwa-aṭiʿ'naand obeyاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُwarasūlahuand His MessengerإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyيُرِيدُyurīduAllah wishesاللَّهُl-lahuAllah wishesلِيُذْهِبَliyudh'hibato removeعَنْكُمُʿankumufrom youالرِّجْسَl-rij'sathe impurityأَهْلَahla(O) Peopleالْبَيْتِl-bayti(of) the HouseوَيُطَهِّرَكُمْwayuṭahhirakumAnd to purify youتَطْهِيرًاtaṭhīran(with thorough) purification
34. 34وَاذْكُرْنَwa-udh'kur'naAnd rememberمَاmāwhatيُتْلَىyut'lāis recitedفِيfīinبُيُوتِكُنَّbuyūtikunnayour housesمِنْminofءَايَاتِāyāti(the) Versesاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَالْحِكْمَةِwal-ḥik'matiand the wisdomإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَانَkānaisلَطِيفًاlaṭīfanAll-SubtleخَبِيرًاkhabīranAll-Aware
35. 35إِنَّinnaIndeedالْمُسْلِمِينَl-mus'limīnathe Muslim menوَالْمُسْلِمَاتِwal-mus'limātiand the Muslim womenوَالْمُؤْمِنِينَwal-mu'minīnaand the believing menوَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِwal-mu'minātiand the believing womenوَالْقَانِتِينَwal-qānitīnaand the obedient menوَالْقَانِتَاتِwal-qānitātiand the obedient womenوَالصَّادِقِينَwal-ṣādiqīnaand the truthful menوَالصَّادِقَاتِwal-ṣādiqātiand the truthful womenوَالصَّابِرِينَwal-ṣābirīnaand the patient menوَالصَّابِرَاتِwal-ṣābirātiand the patient womenوَالْخَاشِعِينَwal-khāshiʿīnaand the humble menوَالْخَاشِعَاتِwal-khāshiʿātiand the humble womenوَالْمُتَصَدِّقِينَwal-mutaṣadiqīnaand the men who give charityوَالْمُتَصَدِّقَاتِwal-mutaṣadiqātiand the women who give charityوَالصَّائِمِينَwal-ṣāimīnaand the men who fastوَالصَّائِمَاتِwal-ṣāimātiand the women who fastوَالْحَافِظِينَwal-ḥāfiẓīnaand the men who guardفُرُوجَهُمْfurūjahumtheir chastityوَالْحَافِظَاتِwal-ḥāfiẓātiand the women who guard (it)وَالذَّاكِرِينَwal-dhākirīnaand the men who rememberاللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَثِيرًاkathīranmuchوَالذَّاكِرَاتِwal-dhākirātiand the women who rememberأَعَدَّaʿaddaAllah has preparedاللَّهُl-lahuAllah has preparedلَهُمْlahumfor themمَغْفِرَةًmaghfiratanforgivenessوَأَجْرًاwa-ajranand a rewardعَظِيمًاʿaẓīmangreat
36. 36وَمَاwamāAnd notكَانَkāna(it) isلِمُؤْمِنٍlimu'mininfor a believing manوَلَاwalāand notمُؤْمِنَةٍmu'minatin(for) a believing womanإِذَاidhāwhenقَضَىqaḍāAllah has decidedاللَّهُl-lahuAllah has decidedوَرَسُولُهُwarasūluhuand His Messengerأَمْرًاamrana matterأَنْanthatيَكُونَyakūna(there) should beلَهُمُlahumufor themالْخِيَرَةُl-khiyaratu(any) choiceمِنْminaboutأَمْرِهِمْamrihimtheir affairوَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverيَعْصِyaʿṣidisobeysاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُwarasūlahuand His Messengerفَقَدْfaqadcertainlyضَلَّḍallahe (has) strayedضَلَالًاḍalālan(into) errorمُبِينًاmubīnanclear
37. 37وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenتَقُولُtaqūluyou saidلِلَّذِيlilladhīto the oneأَنْعَمَanʿamaAllah bestowed favorاللَّهُl-lahuAllah bestowed favorعَلَيْهِʿalayhion himوَأَنْعَمْتَwa-anʿamtaand you bestowed favorعَلَيْهِʿalayhion himأَمْسِكْamsikKeepعَلَيْكَʿalaykato yourselfزَوْجَكَzawjakayour wifeوَاتَّقِwa-ittaqiand fearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَتُخْفِيwatukh'fīBut you concealedفِيfīwithinنَفْسِكَnafsikayourselfمَاmāwhatاللَّهُl-lahuAllahمُبْدِيهِmub'dīhi(was to) discloseوَتَخْشَىwatakhshāAnd you fearالنَّاسَl-nāsathe peopleوَاللَّهُwal-lahuwhile Allahأَحَقُّaḥaqquhas more rightأَنْanthatتَخْشَاهُtakhshāhuyou (should) fear HimفَلَمَّاfalammāSo whenقَضَىqaḍāendedزَيْدٌzaydunZaidمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom herوَطَرًاwaṭarannecessary (formalities)زَوَّجْنَاكَهَاzawwajnākahāWe married her to youلِكَيْlikayso thatلَاlānotيَكُونَyakūnathere beعَلَىʿalāonالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believersحَرَجٌḥarajunany discomfortفِيfīconcerningأَزْوَاجِazwājithe wivesأَدْعِيَائِهِمْadʿiyāihim(of) their adopted sonsإِذَاidhāwhenقَضَوْاqaḍawthey have endedمِنْهُنَّmin'hunnafrom themوَطَرًاwaṭarannecessary (formalities)وَكَانَwakānaAnd isأَمْرُamru(the) Commandاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahمَفْعُولًاmafʿūlanaccomplished
38. 38مَاmāNotكَانَkāna(there can) beعَلَىʿalāuponالنَّبِيِّl-nabiyithe Prophetمِنْminanyحَرَجٍḥarajindiscomfortفِيمَاfīmāin whatفَرَضَfaraḍaAllah has imposedاللَّهُl-lahuAllah has imposedلَهُlahuon himسُنَّةَsunnata(That is the) Wayاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahفِيfīconcerningالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoخَلَوْاkhalawpassed awayمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeوَكَانَwakānaAnd isأَمْرُamru(the) Commandاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahقَدَرًاqadarana decreeمَقْدُورًاmaqdūrandestined
39. 39الَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoيُبَلِّغُونَyuballighūnaconveyرِسَالَاتِrisālāti(the) Messagesاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَيَخْشَوْنَهُwayakhshawnahuand fear Himوَلَاwalāand (do) notيَخْشَوْنَyakhshawnafearأَحَدًاaḥadananyoneإِلَّاillāexceptاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَكَفَىwakafāAnd sufficient is Allahبِاللَّهِbil-lahiAnd sufficient is Allahحَسِيبًاḥasīban(as) a Reckoner
40. 40مَاmāNotكَانَkānaisمُحَمَّدٌmuḥammadunMuhammadأَبَاabā(the) fatherأَحَدٍaḥadin(of) anyoneمِنْminofرِجَالِكُمْrijālikumyour menوَلَكِنْwalākinbutرَسُولَrasūla(he is the) Messengerاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَخَاتَمَwakhātamaand Sealالنَّبِيِّينَl-nabiyīna(of) the ProphetsوَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah isاللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah isبِكُلِّbikulliof everyشَيْءٍshayinthingعَلِيمًاʿalīmanAll-Knower
41. 41يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO (you who)الَّذِينَalladhīna(O) you whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveاذْكُرُواudh'kurūRememberاللَّهَl-lahaAllahذِكْرًاdhik'ran(with) remembranceكَثِيرًاkathīranmuch
42. 42وَسَبِّحُوهُwasabbiḥūhuAnd glorify Himبُكْرَةًbuk'ratanmorningوَأَصِيلًاwa-aṣīlanand evening
43. 43هُوَhuwaHeالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoيُصَلِّيyuṣallīsends His blessingsعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumupon youوَمَلَائِكَتُهُwamalāikatuhuand His Angelsلِيُخْرِجَكُمْliyukh'rijakumso that He may bring you outمِنَminafromالظُّلُمَاتِl-ẓulumātithe darkness[es]إِلَىilātoالنُّورِl-nūrithe lightوَكَانَwakānaAnd He isبِالْمُؤْمِنِينَbil-mu'minīnato the believersرَحِيمًاraḥīmanMerciful
44. 44تَحِيَّتُهُمْtaḥiyyatuhumTheir greetingsيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayيَلْقَوْنَهُyalqawnahuthey will meet Himسَلَامٌsalāmun(will be) Peaceوَأَعَدَّwa-aʿaddaand He has preparedلَهُمْlahumfor themأَجْرًاajrana rewardكَرِيمًاkarīmannoble
45. 45يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO Prophetالنَّبِيُّl-nabiyuO ProphetإِنَّاinnāIndeed, Weأَرْسَلْنَاكَarsalnākahave sent youشَاهِدًاshāhidan(as) a witnessوَمُبَشِّرًاwamubashiranand a bearer of glad tidingsوَنَذِيرًاwanadhīranand (as) a warner
46. 46وَدَاعِيًاwadāʿiyanAnd as one who invitesإِلَىilātoاللَّهِl-lahiAllahبِإِذْنِهِbi-idh'nihiby His permissionوَسِرَاجًاwasirājanand (as) a lampمُنِيرًاmunīranilluminating
47. 47وَبَشِّرِwabashiriAnd give glad tidingsالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīna(to) the believersبِأَنَّbi-annathatلَهُمْlahumfor themمِنَmina(is) fromاللَّهِl-lahiAllahفَضْلًاfaḍlana Bountyكَبِيرًاkabīrangreat
48. 48وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتُطِعِtuṭiʿiobeyالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelieversوَالْمُنَافِقِينَwal-munāfiqīnaand the hypocritesوَدَعْwadaʿand disregardأَذَاهُمْadhāhumtheir harmوَتَوَكَّلْwatawakkaland put your trustعَلَىʿalāinاللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَكَفَىwakafāAnd sufficient is Allahبِاللَّهِbil-lahiAnd sufficient is Allahوَكِيلًاwakīlan(as) a Trustee
49. 49يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeالَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُواāmanūO you who believeإِذَاidhāWhenنَكَحْتُمُnakaḥtumuyou marryالْمُؤْمِنَاتِl-mu'minātibelieving womenثُمَّthummaand thenطَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّṭallaqtumūhunnadivorce themمِنْminbeforeقَبْلِqablibeforeأَنْan[that]تَمَسُّوهُنَّtamassūhunnayou have touched themفَمَاfamāthen notلَكُمْlakumfor youعَلَيْهِنَّʿalayhinnaon themمِنْminanyعِدَّةٍʿiddatinwaiting periodتَعْتَدُّونَهَاtaʿtaddūnahā(to) count concerning themفَمَتِّعُوهُنَّfamattiʿūhunnaSo provide for themوَسَرِّحُوهُنَّwasarriḥūhunnaand release themسَرَاحًاsarāḥan(with) a releaseجَمِيلًاjamīlangood
50. 50يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO Prophetالنَّبِيُّl-nabiyuO ProphetإِنَّاinnāIndeed, Weأَحْلَلْنَاaḥlalnā[We] have made lawfulلَكَlakato youأَزْوَاجَكَazwājakayour wivesاللَّاتِيallātī(to) whomءَاتَيْتَātaytayou have givenأُجُورَهُنَّujūrahunnatheir bridal moneyوَمَاwamāand whomمَلَكَتْmalakatyou rightfully possessيَمِينُكَyamīnukayou rightfully possessمِمَّاmimmāfrom those (whom)أَفَاءَafāaAllah has givenاللَّهُl-lahuAllah has givenعَلَيْكَʿalaykato youوَبَنَاتِwabanātiand (the) daughtersعَمِّكَʿammika(of) your paternal unclesوَبَنَاتِwabanātiand (the) daughtersعَمَّاتِكَʿammātika(of) your paternal auntsوَبَنَاتِwabanātiand (the) daughtersخَالِكَkhālika(of) your maternal unclesوَبَنَاتِwabanātiand (the) daughtersخَالَاتِكَkhālātika(of) your maternal auntsاللَّاتِيallātīwhoهَاجَرْنَhājarnaemigratedمَعَكَmaʿakawith youوَامْرَأَةًwa-im'ra-atanand a womanمُؤْمِنَةًmu'minatanbelievingإِنْinifوَهَبَتْwahabatshe givesنَفْسَهَاnafsahāherselfلِلنَّبِيِّlilnnabiyyito the Prophetإِنْinifأَرَادَarādawishesالنَّبِيُّl-nabiyuthe Prophetأَنْantoيَسْتَنْكِحَهَاyastankiḥahāmarry herخَالِصَةًkhāliṣatanonlyلَكَlakafor youمِنْminexcludingدُونِdūniexcludingالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believersقَدْqadCertainlyعَلِمْنَاʿalim'nāWe knowمَاmāwhatفَرَضْنَاfaraḍnāWe have made obligatoryعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimupon themفِيfīconcerningأَزْوَاجِهِمْazwājihimtheir wivesوَمَاwamāand whomمَلَكَتْmalakatthey rightfully possessأَيْمَانُهُمْaymānuhumthey rightfully possessلِكَيْلَاlikaylāthat notيَكُونَyakūnashould beعَلَيْكَʿalaykaon youحَرَجٌḥarajunany discomfortوَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah isاللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah isغَفُورًاghafūranOft-ForgivingرَحِيمًاraḥīmanMost Merciful
51. 51تُرْجِيtur'jīYou may deferمَنْmanwhomتَشَاءُtashāuyou willمِنْهُنَّmin'hunnaof themوَتُءْوِيwatu'wīor you may takeإِلَيْكَilaykato yourselfمَنْmanwhomتَشَاءُtashāuyou willوَمَنِwamaniAnd whoeverابْتَغَيْتَib'taghaytayou desireمِمَّنْmimmanof those whomعَزَلْتَʿazaltayou (had) set asideفَلَاfalāthen (there is) noجُنَاحَjunāḥablameعَلَيْكَʿalaykaupon youذَلِكَdhālikaThatأَدْنَىadnā(is) more suitableأَنْanthatتَقَرَّtaqarramay be cooledأَعْيُنُهُنَّaʿyunuhunnatheir eyesوَلَاwalāand notيَحْزَنَّyaḥzannathey grieveوَيَرْضَيْنَwayarḍaynaand they may be pleasedبِمَاbimāwith whatءَاتَيْتَهُنَّātaytahunnayou have given themكُلُّهُنَّkulluhunnaall of themوَاللَّهُwal-lahuAnd Allahيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsمَاmāwhatفِيfī(is) inقُلُوبِكُمْqulūbikumyour heartsوَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah isاللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah isعَلِيمًاʿalīmanAll-KnowerحَلِيمًاḥalīmanMost Forbearing
52. 52لَاlā(It is) notيَحِلُّyaḥillulawfulلَكَlakafor youالنِّسَاءُl-nisāu(to marry) womenمِنْminafter (this)بَعْدُbaʿduafter (this)وَلَاwalāand notأَنْantoتَبَدَّلَtabaddalaexchangeبِهِنَّbihinnathemمِنْminforأَزْوَاجٍazwājin(other) wivesوَلَوْwalaweven ifأَعْجَبَكَaʿjabakapleases youحُسْنُهُنَّḥus'nuhunnatheir beautyإِلَّاillāexceptمَاmāwhomمَلَكَتْmalakatyou rightfully possessيَمِينُكَyamīnukayou rightfully possessوَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah isاللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah isعَلَىʿalāoverكُلِّkulliallشَيْءٍshayinthingsرَقِيبًاraqībanan Observer
53. 53يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeالَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُواāmanūO you who believeلَاlā(Do) notتَدْخُلُواtadkhulūenterبُيُوتَbuyūta(the) housesالنَّبِيِّl-nabiyi(of) the Prophetإِلَّاillāexceptأَنْanwhenيُؤْذَنَyu'dhanapermission is givenلَكُمْlakumto youإِلَىilāforطَعَامٍṭaʿāmina mealغَيْرَghayrawithoutنَاظِرِينَnāẓirīnaawaitingإِنَاهُināhuits preparationوَلَكِنْwalākinButإِذَاidhāwhenدُعِيتُمْduʿītumyou are invitedفَادْخُلُواfa-ud'khulūthen enterفَإِذَاfa-idhāand whenطَعِمْتُمْṭaʿim'tumyou have eatenفَانْتَشِرُواfa-intashirūthen disperseوَلَاwalāand notمُسْتَءْنِسِينَmus'tanisīnaseeking to remainلِحَدِيثٍliḥadīthinfor a conversationإِنَّinnaIndeedذَلِكُمْdhālikumthatكَانَkānawasيُؤْذِيyu'dhītroublingالنَّبِيَّl-nabiyathe Prophetفَيَسْتَحْيِيfayastaḥyīand he is shyمِنْكُمْminkumof (dismissing) youوَاللَّهُwal-lahuBut Allahلَاlāis not shyيَسْتَحْيِيyastaḥyīis not shyمِنَminaofالْحَقِّl-ḥaqithe truthوَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenسَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّsa-altumūhunnayou ask themمَتَاعًاmatāʿanfor somethingفَسْءَلُوهُنَّfasalūhunnathen ask themمِنْminfromوَرَاءِwarāibehindحِجَابٍḥijābina screenذَلِكُمْdhālikumThatأَطْهَرُaṭharu(is) purerلِقُلُوبِكُمْliqulūbikumfor your heartsوَقُلُوبِهِنَّwaqulūbihinnaand their heartsوَمَاwamāAnd notكَانَkānaisلَكُمْlakumfor youأَنْanthatتُؤْذُواtu'dhūyou troubleرَسُولَrasūla(the) Messengerاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَلَاwalāand notأَنْanthatتَنْكِحُواtankiḥūyou should marryأَزْوَاجَهُazwājahuhis wivesمِنْminafter himبَعْدِهِbaʿdihiafter himأَبَدًاabadaneverإِنَّinnaIndeedذَلِكُمْdhālikumthatكَانَkānaisعِنْدَʿindanearاللَّهِl-lahiAllahعَظِيمًاʿaẓīmanan enormity
54. 54إِنْinWhetherتُبْدُواtub'dūyou revealشَيْئًاshayana thingأَوْaworتُخْفُوهُtukh'fūhuconceal itفَإِنَّfa-innaindeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَانَkānaisبِكُلِّbikulliof allشَيْءٍshayinthingsعَلِيمًاʿalīmanAll-Knower
55. 55لَاlā(There is) noجُنَاحَjunāḥablameعَلَيْهِنَّʿalayhinnaupon themفِيfīconcerningءَابَائِهِنَّābāihinnatheir fathersوَلَاwalāand notأَبْنَائِهِنَّabnāihinnatheir sonsوَلَاwalāand notإِخْوَانِهِنَّikh'wānihinnatheir brothersوَلَاwalāand notأَبْنَاءِabnāisonsإِخْوَانِهِنَّikh'wānihinna(of) their brothersوَلَاwalāand notأَبْنَاءِabnāisonsأَخَوَاتِهِنَّakhawātihinna(of) their sistersوَلَاwalāand notنِسَائِهِنَّnisāihinnatheir womenوَلَاwalāand notمَاmāwhatمَلَكَتْmalakatthey rightfully possessأَيْمَانُهُنَّaymānuhunnathey rightfully possessوَاتَّقِينَwa-ittaqīnaAnd fearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahإِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَانَkānaisعَلَىʿalāoverكُلِّkulliallشَيْءٍshayinthingsشَهِيدًاshahīdana Witness
56. 56إِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَمَلَائِكَتَهُwamalāikatahuand His Angelsيُصَلُّونَyuṣallūnasend blessingsعَلَىʿalāuponالنَّبِيِّl-nabiyithe ProphetيَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeالَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُواāmanūO you who believeصَلُّواṣallūSend blessingsعَلَيْهِʿalayhion himوَسَلِّمُواwasallimūand greet himتَسْلِيمًاtaslīman(with) greetings
57. 57إِنَّinnaIndeedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoيُؤْذُونَyu'dhūnaannoyاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُwarasūlahuand His MessengerلَعَنَهُمُlaʿanahumuAllah has cursed themاللَّهُl-lahuAllah has cursed themفِيfīinالدُّنْيَاl-dun'yāthe worldوَالْءَاخِرَةِwal-ākhiratiand the Hereafterوَأَعَدَّwa-aʿaddaand has preparedلَهُمْlahumfor themعَذَابًاʿadhābana punishmentمُهِينًاmuhīnanhumiliating
58. 58وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoيُؤْذُونَyu'dhūnaharmالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believing menوَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِwal-mu'minātiand the believing womenبِغَيْرِbighayrifor other thanمَاmāwhatاكْتَسَبُواik'tasabūthey have earnedفَقَدِfaqadithen certainlyاحْتَمَلُواiḥ'tamalūthey bearبُهْتَانًاbuh'tānanfalse accusationوَإِثْمًاwa-ith'manand sinمُبِينًاmubīnanmanifest
59. 59يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO Prophetالنَّبِيُّl-nabiyuO ProphetقُلْqulSayلِأَزْوَاجِكَli-azwājikato your wivesوَبَنَاتِكَwabanātikaand your daughtersوَنِسَاءِwanisāiand (the) womenالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīna(of) the believersيُدْنِينَyud'nīnato bring downعَلَيْهِنَّʿalayhinnaover themselvesمِنْminofجَلَابِيبِهِنَّjalābībihinnatheir outer garmentsذَلِكَdhālikaThatأَدْنَىadnā(is) more suitableأَنْanthatيُعْرَفْنَyuʿ'rafnathey should be knownفَلَاfalāand notيُؤْذَيْنَyu'dhaynaharmedوَكَانَwakānaAnd isاللَّهُl-lahuAllahغَفُورًاghafūranOft-ForgivingرَحِيمًاraḥīmanMost Merciful
60. 60لَئِنْla-inIfلَمْlam(do) notيَنْتَهِyantahiceaseالْمُنَافِقُونَl-munāfiqūnathe hypocritesوَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaand those whoفِيfīinقُلُوبِهِمْqulūbihimtheir heartsمَرَضٌmaraḍun(is) a diseaseوَالْمُرْجِفُونَwal-mur'jifūnaand those who spread rumorsفِيfīinالْمَدِينَةِl-madīnatithe cityلَنُغْرِيَنَّكَlanugh'riyannakaWe will let you overpower themبِهِمْbihimWe will let you overpower themثُمَّthummathenلَاlānotيُجَاوِرُونَكَyujāwirūnakathey will remain your neighborsفِيهَاfīhāthereinإِلَّاillāexceptقَلِيلًاqalīlan(for) a little
61. 61مَلْعُونِينَmalʿūnīnaAccursedأَيْنَمَاaynamāwhereverثُقِفُواthuqifūthey are foundأُخِذُواukhidhūthey are seizedوَقُتِّلُواwaquttilūand massacred completelyتَقْتِيلًاtaqtīlanand massacred completely
62. 62سُنَّةَsunnata(Such is the) Wayاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahفِيfīwithالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoخَلَوْاkhalawpassed awayمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeوَلَنْwalanand neverتَجِدَtajidayou will findلِسُنَّةِlisunnatiin (the) Wayاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahتَبْدِيلًاtabdīlanany change
63. 63يَسْءَلُكَyasalukaAsk youالنَّاسُl-nāsuthe peopleعَنِʿaniaboutالسَّاعَةِl-sāʿatithe HourقُلْqulSayإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyعِلْمُهَاʿil'muhāits knowledgeعِنْدَʿinda(is) withاللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَمَاwamāAnd whatيُدْرِيكَyud'rīkawill make you knowلَعَلَّlaʿallaPerhapsالسَّاعَةَl-sāʿatathe Hourتَكُونُtakūnuisقَرِيبًاqarībannear
64. 64إِنَّinnaIndeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahلَعَنَlaʿanahas cursedالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelieversوَأَعَدَّwa-aʿaddaand has preparedلَهُمْlahumfor themسَعِيرًاsaʿīrana Blaze
65. 65خَالِدِينَkhālidīnaAbidingفِيهَاfīhāthereinأَبَدًاabadanforeverلَاlānotيَجِدُونَyajidūnathey will findوَلِيًّاwaliyyanany protectorوَلَاwalāand notنَصِيرًاnaṣīranany helper
66. 66يَوْمَyawma(The) Dayتُقَلَّبُtuqallabuwill be turned aboutوُجُوهُهُمْwujūhuhumtheir facesفِيfīinالنَّارِl-nārithe Fireيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnathey will sayيَالَيْتَنَاyālaytanāO we wishأَطَعْنَاaṭaʿnāwe (had) obeyedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطَعْنَاwa-aṭaʿnāand obeyedالرَّسُولَاl-rasūlāthe Messenger!
67. 67وَقَالُواwaqālūAnd they will sayرَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lord!إِنَّاinnāIndeed weأَطَعْنَاaṭaʿnā[we] obeyedسَادَتَنَاsādatanāour chiefsوَكُبَرَاءَنَاwakubarāanāand our great menفَأَضَلُّونَاfa-aḍallūnāand they misled usالسَّبِيلَاl-sabīlā(from) the Way
68. 68رَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lord!ءَاتِهِمْātihimGive themضِعْفَيْنِḍiʿ'faynidoubleمِنَmina[of]الْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābipunishmentوَالْعَنْهُمْwal-ʿanhumand curse themلَعْنًاlaʿnan(with) a curseكَبِيرًاkabīrangreat
69. 69يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeالَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُواāmanūO you who believeلَاlā(Do) notتَكُونُواtakūnūbeكَالَّذِينَka-alladhīnalike those whoءَاذَوْاādhawannoyedمُوسَىmūsāMusaفَبَرَّأَهُfabarra-ahuthen Allah cleared himاللَّهُl-lahuthen Allah cleared himمِمَّاmimmāof whatقَالُواqālūthey saidوَكَانَwakānaAnd he wasعِنْدَʿindanearاللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَجِيهًاwajīhanhonorable
70. 70يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO you who believeالَّذِينَalladhīnaO you who believeءَامَنُواāmanūO you who believeاتَّقُواittaqūFearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَقُولُواwaqūlūand speakقَوْلًاqawlana wordسَدِيدًاsadīdanright
71. 71يُصْلِحْyuṣ'liḥHe will amendلَكُمْlakumfor youأَعْمَالَكُمْaʿmālakumyour deedsوَيَغْفِرْwayaghfirand forgiveلَكُمْlakumyouذُنُوبَكُمْdhunūbakumyour sinsوَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverيُطِعِyuṭiʿiobeysاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَرَسُولَهُwarasūlahuand His Messengerفَقَدْfaqadcertainlyفَازَfāzahas attainedفَوْزًاfawzanan attainmentعَظِيمًاʿaẓīmangreat
72. 72إِنَّاinnāIndeedعَرَضْنَاʿaraḍnā[We] offeredالْأَمَانَةَl-amānatathe Trustعَلَىʿalātoالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَالْجِبَالِwal-jibāliand the mountainsفَأَبَيْنَfa-abaynabut they refusedأَنْantoيَحْمِلْنَهَاyaḥmil'nahābear itوَأَشْفَقْنَwa-ashfaqnaand they fearedمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom itوَحَمَلَهَاwaḥamalahābut bore itالْإِنْسَانُl-insānuthe manإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heكَانَkānawasظَلُومًاẓalūmanvery unjustجَهُولًاjahūlanvery ignorant
73. 73لِيُعَذِّبَliyuʿadhibaSo that Allah may punishاللَّهُl-lahuSo that Allah may punishالْمُنَافِقِينَl-munāfiqīnathe hypocrite menوَالْمُنَافِقَاتِwal-munāfiqātiand the hypocrite womenوَالْمُشْرِكِينَwal-mush'rikīnaand the polytheist menوَالْمُشْرِكَاتِwal-mush'rikātiand the polytheist womenوَيَتُوبَwayatūbaand Allah will turn (in Mercy)اللَّهُl-lahuand Allah will turn (in Mercy)عَلَىʿalātoالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believing menوَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِwal-mu'minātiand the believing womenوَكَانَwakānaAnd Allah isاللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah isغَفُورًاghafūranOft-ForgivingرَحِيمًاraḥīmanMost Merciful
