بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 32 — As-Sajda

  1. 1الٓمٓalif-lam-meemAlif Lam Mim
  2. 2تَنْزِيلُtanzīlu(The) revelationالْكِتَابِl-kitābi(of) the Bookلَا(there is) noرَيْبَraybadoubtفِيهِfīhiabout itمِنْminfromرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
  3. 3أَمْamOrيَقُولُونَyaqūlūna(do) they sayافْتَرَاهُif'tarāhuHe invented itبَلْbalNayهُوَhuwaitالْحَقُّl-ḥaqu(is) the truthمِنْminfromرَبِّكَrabbikayour Lordلِتُنْذِرَlitundhirathat you may warnقَوْمًاqawmana peopleمَاnotأَتَاهُمْatāhumhas come to themمِنْminanyنَذِيرٍnadhīrinwarnerمِنْminbefore youقَبْلِكَqablikabefore youلَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayيَهْتَدُونَyahtadūnabe guided
  4. 4اللَّهُal-lahuAllahالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthوَمَاwamāand whateverبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā(is) between themفِيinسِتَّةِsittatisixأَيَّامٍayyāminperiodsثُمَّthummaThenاسْتَوَىis'tawāestablished Himselfعَلَىʿalāonالْعَرْشِl-ʿarshithe ThroneمَاNotلَكُمْlakumfor youمِنْminbesides Himدُونِهِdūnihibesides Himمِنْminanyوَلِيٍّwaliyyinprotectorوَلَاwalāand notشَفِيعٍshafīʿinany intercessorأَفَلَاafalāThen will notتَتَذَكَّرُونَtatadhakkarūnayou take heed
  5. 5يُدَبِّرُyudabbiruHe regulatesالْأَمْرَl-amrathe affairمِنَminaofالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe heavenإِلَىilātoالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthثُمَّthummathenيَعْرُجُyaʿrujuit will ascendإِلَيْهِilayhito Himفِيinيَوْمٍyawmina Dayكَانَkāna(the) measure of which isمِقْدَارُهُmiq'dāruhu(the) measure of which isأَلْفَalfaa thousandسَنَةٍsanatinyearsمِمَّاmimmāof whatتَعُدُّونَtaʿuddūnayou count
  6. 6ذَلِكَdhālikaThatعَالِمُʿālimu(is the) Knowerالْغَيْبِl-ghaybi(of) the hiddenوَالشَّهَادَةِwal-shahādatiand the witnessedالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzuthe All-Mightyالرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
  7. 7الَّذِيalladhīThe One Whoأَحْسَنَaḥsanamade goodكُلَّkullaeveryشَيْءٍshayinthingخَلَقَهُkhalaqahuHe createdوَبَدَأَwabada-aand He beganخَلْقَkhalqa(the) creationالْإِنْسَانِl-insāni(of) manمِنْminfromطِينٍṭīninclay
  8. 8ثُمَّthummaThenجَعَلَjaʿalaHe madeنَسْلَهُnaslahuhis progenyمِنْminfromسُلَالَةٍsulālatinan extractمِنْminofمَاءٍmāinwaterمَهِينٍmahīnindespised
  9. 9ثُمَّthummaThenسَوَّاهُsawwāhuHe fashioned himوَنَفَخَwanafakhaand breathedفِيهِfīhiinto himمِنْminfromرُوحِهِrūḥihiHis spiritوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand madeلَكُمُlakumufor youالسَّمْعَl-samʿathe hearingوَالْأَبْصَارَwal-abṣāraand the sightوَالْأَفْئِدَةَwal-afidataand feelingsقَلِيلًاqalīlanlittleمَا[what]تَشْكُرُونَtashkurūnathanks you give
  10. 10وَقَالُواwaqālūAnd they sayأَءِذَاa-idhāIs (it) whenضَلَلْنَاḍalalnāwe are lostفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthأَءِنَّاa-innāwill weلَفِيlafīcertainly be inخَلْقٍkhalqina creationجَدِيدٍjadīdinnewبَلْbalNayهُمْhumtheyبِلِقَاءِbiliqāiin (the) meetingرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lordكَافِرُونَkāfirūna(are) disbelievers
  11. 11قُلْqulSayيَتَوَفَّاكُمْyatawaffākumWill take your soulمَلَكُmalaku(the) Angelالْمَوْتِl-mawti(of) the deathالَّذِيalladhīthe one whoوُكِّلَwukkilahas been put in chargeبِكُمْbikumof youثُمَّthummaThenإِلَىilātoرَبِّكُمْrabbikumyour Lordتُرْجَعُونَtur'jaʿūnayou will be returned
  12. 12وَلَوْwalawAnd ifتَرَىtarāyou (could) seeإِذِidhiwhenالْمُجْرِمُونَl-muj'rimūnathe criminalsنَاكِسُواnākisū(will) hangرُءُوسِهِمْruūsihimtheir headsعِنْدَʿindabeforeرَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir LordرَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lordأَبْصَرْنَاabṣarnāwe have seenوَسَمِعْنَاwasamiʿ'nāand we have heardفَارْجِعْنَاfa-ir'jiʿ'nāso return usنَعْمَلْnaʿmalwe will doصَالِحًاṣāliḥanrighteous (deeds)إِنَّاinnāIndeed weمُوقِنُونَmūqinūna(are now) certain
  13. 13وَلَوْwalawAnd ifشِئْنَاshi'nāWe (had) willedلَءَاتَيْنَاlaātaynāsurely We (would) have givenكُلَّkullaeveryنَفْسٍnafsinsoulهُدَاهَاhudāhāits guidanceوَلَكِنْwalākinbutحَقَّḥaqqa(is) trueالْقَوْلُl-qawluthe Wordمِنِّيminnīfrom Meلَأَمْلَأَنَّla-amla-annathat I will surely fillجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellمِنَminawithالْجِنَّةِl-jinatithe jinnوَالنَّاسِwal-nāsiand the menأَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīnatogether
  14. 14فَذُوقُواfadhūqūSo tasteبِمَاbimābecauseنَسِيتُمْnasītumyou forgotلِقَاءَliqāa(the) meetingيَوْمِكُمْyawmikum(of) this Day of yoursهَذَاhādhā(of) this Day of yoursإِنَّاinnāIndeed, Weنَسِينَاكُمْnasīnākumhave forgotten youوَذُوقُواwadhūqūAnd tasteعَذَابَʿadhāba(the) punishmentالْخُلْدِl-khul'di(of) eternityبِمَاbimāfor whatكُنْتُمْkuntumyou used (to)تَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnado
  15. 15إِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyيُؤْمِنُyu'minubelieveبِءَايَاتِنَاbiāyātināin Our Versesالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoإِذَاidhāwhenذُكِّرُواdhukkirūthey are remindedبِهَاbihāof themخَرُّواkharrūfall downسُجَّدًاsujjadanprostratingوَسَبَّحُواwasabbaḥūand glorifyبِحَمْدِbiḥamdi(the) praisesرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lordوَهُمْwahumand theyلَاare not arrogantيَسْتَكْبِرُونَyastakbirūnaare not arrogant
  16. 16تَتَجَافَىtatajāfāForsakeجُنُوبُهُمْjunūbuhumtheir sidesعَنِʿanifromالْمَضَاجِعِl-maḍājiʿi(their) bedsيَدْعُونَyadʿūnathey callرَبَّهُمْrabbahumtheir Lordخَوْفًاkhawfan(in) fearوَطَمَعًاwaṭamaʿanand hopeوَمِمَّاwamimmāand out of whatرَزَقْنَاهُمْrazaqnāhumWe have provided themيُنْفِقُونَyunfiqūnathey spend
  17. 17فَلَاfalāAnd notتَعْلَمُtaʿlamuknowsنَفْسٌnafsuna soulمَاwhatأُخْفِيَukh'fiyais hiddenلَهُمْlahumfor themمِنْminofقُرَّةِqurrati(the) comfortأَعْيُنٍaʿyunin(for) the eyesجَزَاءًjazāan(as) a rewardبِمَاbimāfor whatكَانُواkānūthey used (to)يَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
  18. 18أَفَمَنْafamanThen is one whoكَانَkānaisمُؤْمِنًاmu'minana believerكَمَنْkamanlike (him) whoكَانَkānaisفَاسِقًاfāsiqandefiantly disobedientلَاNotيَسْتَوُونَyastawūnathey are equal
  19. 19أَمَّاammāAs forالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveوَعَمِلُواwaʿamilūand doالصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deedsفَلَهُمْfalahumthen for themجَنَّاتُjannātu(are) Gardensالْمَأْوَىl-mawā(of) Refugeنُزُلًاnuzulan(as) hospitalityبِمَاbimāfor whatكَانُواkānūthey used (to)يَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnado
  20. 20وَأَمَّاwa-ammāBut as forالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoفَسَقُواfasaqūare defiantly disobedientفَمَأْوَاهُمُfamawāhumuthen their refugeالنَّارُl-nāru(is) the FireكُلَّمَاkullamāEvery timeأَرَادُواarādūthey wishأَنْantoيَخْرُجُواyakhrujūcome outمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom itأُعِيدُواuʿīdūthey (will) be returnedفِيهَاfīhāin itوَقِيلَwaqīlaand it (will) be saidلَهُمْlahumto themذُوقُواdhūqūTasteعَذَابَʿadhāba(the) punishmentالنَّارِl-nāri(of) the Fireالَّذِيalladhīwhichكُنْتُمْkuntumyou used (to)بِهِbihi[in it]تُكَذِّبُونَtukadhibūnadeny
  21. 21وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُمْwalanudhīqannahumAnd surely We will let them tasteمِنَminaofالْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābithe punishmentالْأَدْنَىl-adnāthe nearerدُونَdūnabeforeالْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābithe punishmentالْأَكْبَرِl-akbarithe greaterلَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayيَرْجِعُونَyarjiʿūnareturn
  22. 22وَمَنْwamanAnd whoأَظْلَمُaẓlamu(is) more unjustمِمَّنْmimmanthan (he) whoذُكِّرَdhukkirais remindedبِءَايَاتِbiāyātiof (the) Versesرَبِّهِrabbihi(of) his Lordثُمَّthummathenأَعْرَضَaʿraḍahe turns awayعَنْهَاʿanhāfrom themإِنَّاinnāIndeed Weمِنَminafromالْمُجْرِمِينَl-muj'rimīnathe criminalsمُنْتَقِمُونَmuntaqimūna(will) take retribution
  23. 23وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd certainlyءَاتَيْنَاātaynāWe gaveمُوسَىmūsāMusaالْكِتَابَl-kitābathe Scriptureفَلَاfalāso (do) notتَكُنْtakunbeفِيinمِرْيَةٍmir'yatindoubtمِنْminaboutلِقَائِهِliqāihireceiving itوَجَعَلْنَاهُwajaʿalnāhuAnd We made itهُدًىhudana guideلِبَنِيlibanīfor the Children of Israelإِسْرَاءِيلَis'rāīlafor the Children of Israel
  24. 24وَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāAnd We madeمِنْهُمْmin'humfrom themأَئِمَّةًa-immatanleadersيَهْدُونَyahdūnaguidingبِأَمْرِنَاbi-amrināby Our Commandلَمَّاlammāwhenصَبَرُواṣabarūthey were patientوَكَانُواwakānūand they wereبِءَايَاتِنَاbiāyātināof Our Versesيُوقِنُونَyūqinūnacertain
  25. 25إِنَّinnaIndeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordهُوَhuwa[He]يَفْصِلُyafṣiluwill judgeبَيْنَهُمْbaynahumbetween themيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayالْقِيَامَةِl-qiyāmati(of) Resurrectionفِيمَاfīmāin whatكَانُواkānūthey used (to)فِيهِfīhi[in it]يَخْتَلِفُونَyakhtalifūnadiffer
  26. 26أَوَلَمْawalamDoes it notيَهْدِyahdiguideلَهُمْlahum[for] themكَمْkam(that) how manyأَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe have destroyedمِنْminbefore themقَبْلِهِمْqablihimbefore themمِنَminaofالْقُرُونِl-qurūnithe generationsيَمْشُونَyamshūnathey walk aboutفِيinمَسَاكِنِهِمْmasākinihimtheir dwellingsإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَاتٍlaāyātinsurely, are SignsأَفَلَاafalāThen do notيَسْمَعُونَyasmaʿūnathey hear
  27. 27أَوَلَمْawalamDo notيَرَوْاyarawthey seeأَنَّاannāthat Weنَسُوقُnasūqudriveالْمَاءَl-māawaterإِلَىilātoالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe landالْجُرُزِl-juruzi[the] barrenفَنُخْرِجُfanukh'rijuthen We bring forthبِهِbihitherebyزَرْعًاzarʿancropsتَأْكُلُtakulueatمِنْهُmin'hufrom itأَنْعَامُهُمْanʿāmuhumtheir cattleوَأَنْفُسُهُمْwa-anfusuhumand they themselvesأَفَلَاafalāThen do notيُبْصِرُونَyub'ṣirūnathey see
  28. 28وَيَقُولُونَwayaqūlūnaAnd they sayمَتَىmatāWhen (will be)هَذَاhādhāthisالْفَتْحُl-fatḥudecisionإِنْinifكُنْتُمْkuntumyou areصَادِقِينَṣādiqīnatruthful
  29. 29قُلْqulSayيَوْمَyawma(On the) Dayالْفَتْحِl-fatḥi(of) the Decisionلَاnotيَنْفَعُyanfaʿuwill benefitالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveإِيمَانُهُمْīmānuhumtheir beliefوَلَاwalāand notهُمْhumtheyيُنْظَرُونَyunẓarūnawill be granted respite
  30. 30فَأَعْرِضْfa-aʿriḍSo turn awayعَنْهُمْʿanhumfrom themوَانْتَظِرْwa-intaẓirand waitإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed theyمُنْتَظِرُونَmuntaẓirūna(are) waiting
