بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 30 — Ar-Room

  1. 1الٓمٓalif-lam-meemAlif Lam Mim
  2. 2غُلِبَتِghulibatiHave been defeatedالرُّومُl-rūmuthe Romans
  3. 3فِيInأَدْنَىadnā(the) nearestالْأَرْضِl-arḍilandوَهُمْwahumBut theyمِنْminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterغَلَبِهِمْghalabihimtheir defeatسَيَغْلِبُونَsayaghlibūnawill overcome
  4. 4فِيWithinبِضْعِbiḍ'ʿia fewسِنِينَsinīnayearsلِلَّهِlillahiFor Allahالْأَمْرُl-amru(is) the commandمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeوَمِنْwaminand afterبَعْدُbaʿduand afterوَيَوْمَئِذٍwayawma-idhinAnd that dayيَفْرَحُyafraḥuwill rejoiceالْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūnathe believers
  5. 5بِنَصْرِbinaṣriWith (the) helpاللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahيَنْصُرُyanṣuruHe helpsمَنْmanwhomيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyالرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
  6. 6وَعْدَwaʿda(It is the) Promiseاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahلَا(Does) notيُخْلِفُyukh'lifufailاللَّهُl-lahuAllahوَعْدَهُwaʿdahu(in) His promiseوَلَكِنَّwalākinnabutأَكْثَرَaktharamost (of)النَّاسِl-nāsi[the] peopleلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
  7. 7يَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaThey knowظَاهِرًاẓāhiran(the) apparentمِنَminaofالْحَيَوةِl-ḥayatithe lifeالدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the worldوَهُمْwahumbut theyعَنِʿaniaboutالْءَاخِرَةِl-ākhiratithe Hereafterهُمْhum[they]غَافِلُونَghāfilūna(are) heedless
  8. 8أَوَلَمْawalamDo notيَتَفَكَّرُواyatafakkarūthey ponderفِيwithinأَنْفُسِهِمْanfusihimthemselvesمَاNotخَلَقَkhalaqaAllah (has) createdاللَّهُl-lahuAllah (has) createdالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthوَمَاwamāand whatبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā(is) between themإِلَّاillāexceptبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truthوَأَجَلٍwa-ajalinand (for) a termمُسَمًّىmusammanappointedوَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedكَثِيرًاkathīranmanyمِنَminaofالنَّاسِl-nāsithe peopleبِلِقَاءِbiliqāiin (the) meetingرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(with) their Lordلَكَافِرُونَlakāfirūnasurely (are) disbelievers
  9. 9أَوَلَمْawalamHave notيَسِيرُواyasīrūthey traveledفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthفَيَنْظُرُواfayanẓurūand observedكَيْفَkayfahowكَانَkānawasعَاقِبَةُʿāqibatu(the) endالَّذِينَalladhīna(of) thoseمِنْminbefore themقَبْلِهِمْqablihimbefore themكَانُواkānūThey wereأَشَدَّashaddamightierمِنْهُمْmin'humto themقُوَّةًquwwatan(in) strengthوَأَثَارُواwa-athārūand they dugالْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earthوَعَمَرُوهَاwaʿamarūhāand built (on) itأَكْثَرَaktharamoreمِمَّاmimmāthan whatعَمَرُوهَاʿamarūhāthey have built (on) itوَجَاءَتْهُمْwajāathumAnd came (to) themرُسُلُهُمْrusuluhumtheir Messengersبِالْبَيِّنَاتِbil-bayinātiwith clear proofsفَمَاfamāSo notكَانَkānawasاللَّهُl-lahuAllahلِيَظْلِمَهُمْliyaẓlimahumto wrong themوَلَكِنْwalākinbutكَانُواkānūthey wereأَنْفُسَهُمْanfusahumthemselvesيَظْلِمُونَyaẓlimūna(doing) wrong
  10. 10ثُمَّthummaThenكَانَkānawasعَاقِبَةَʿāqibata(the) endالَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoأَسَاءُواasāūdid evilالسُّوأَىl-sūāthe evilأَنْanbecauseكَذَّبُواkadhabūthey deniedبِءَايَاتِbiāyāti(the) Signsاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَكَانُواwakānūand wereبِهَاbihāof themيَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūnamaking mockery
  11. 11اللَّهُal-lahuAllahيَبْدَؤُاyabda-uoriginatesالْخَلْقَl-khalqathe creationثُمَّthummathenيُعِيدُهُyuʿīduhuHe repeats itثُمَّthummathenإِلَيْهِilayhito Himتُرْجَعُونَtur'jaʿūnayou will be returned
  12. 12وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) Dayتَقُومُtaqūmuwill (be) establishedالسَّاعَةُl-sāʿatuthe Hourيُبْلِسُyub'lisuwill (be in) despairالْمُجْرِمُونَl-muj'rimūnathe criminals
  13. 13وَلَمْwalamAnd notيَكُنْyakunwill beلَهُمْlahumfor themمِنْminamongشُرَكَائِهِمْshurakāihimtheirs partnersشُفَعَؤُاshufaʿāuany intercessorsوَكَانُواwakānūand they will beبِشُرَكَائِهِمْbishurakāihimin their partnersكَافِرِينَkāfirīnadisbelievers
  14. 14وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) Dayتَقُومُtaqūmuwill (be) establishedالسَّاعَةُl-sāʿatuthe Hourيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinthat Dayيَتَفَرَّقُونَyatafarraqūnathey will become separated
  15. 15فَأَمَّاfa-ammāThen as forالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelievedوَعَمِلُواwaʿamilūand didالصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deedsفَهُمْfahumso theyفِيinرَوْضَةٍrawḍatina Gardenيُحْبَرُونَyuḥ'barūnawill be delighted
  16. 16وَأَمَّاwa-ammāBut as forالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedوَكَذَّبُواwakadhabūand deniedبِءَايَاتِنَاbiāyātināOur Signsوَلِقَاءِwaliqāiand (the) meetingالْءَاخِرَةِl-ākhirati(of) the Hereafterفَأُولَئِكَfa-ulāikathen thoseفِيinالْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābithe punishmentمُحْضَرُونَmuḥ'ḍarūna(will be) brought forth
  17. 17فَسُبْحَانَfasub'ḥānaSo glory be toاللَّهِl-lahiAllahحِينَḥīnawhenتُمْسُونَtum'sūnayou reach the eveningوَحِينَwaḥīnaand whenتُصْبِحُونَtuṣ'biḥūnayou reach the morning
  18. 18وَلَهُwalahuAnd for Himالْحَمْدُl-ḥamdu(are) all praisesفِيinالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَعَشِيًّاwaʿashiyyanand (at) nightوَحِينَwaḥīnaand whenتُظْهِرُونَtuẓ'hirūnayou are at noon
  19. 19يُخْرِجُyukh'rijuHe brings forthالْحَيَّl-ḥayathe livingمِنَminafromالْمَيِّتِl-mayitithe deadوَيُخْرِجُwayukh'rijuand He brings forthالْمَيِّتَl-mayitathe deadمِنَminafromالْحَيِّl-ḥayithe livingوَيُحْيِيwayuḥ'yīand He gives lifeالْأَرْضَl-arḍa(to) the earthبَعْدَbaʿdaafterمَوْتِهَاmawtihāits deathوَكَذَلِكَwakadhālikaand thusتُخْرَجُونَtukh'rajūnayou will be brought forth
  20. 20وَمِنْwaminAnd amongءَايَاتِهِāyātihiHis Signsأَنْan(is) thatخَلَقَكُمْkhalaqakumHe created youمِنْminfromتُرَابٍturābindustثُمَّthummathenإِذَاidhābehold!أَنْتُمْantumYouبَشَرٌbasharun(are) human beingsتَنْتَشِرُونَtantashirūnadispersing
  21. 21وَمِنْwaminAnd amongءَايَاتِهِāyātihiHis Signsأَنْan(is) thatخَلَقَkhalaqaHe createdلَكُمْlakumfor youمِنْminfromأَنْفُسِكُمْanfusikumyourselvesأَزْوَاجًاazwājanmatesلِتَسْكُنُواlitaskunūthat you may find tranquilityإِلَيْهَاilayhāin themوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand He placedبَيْنَكُمْbaynakumbetween youمَوَدَّةًmawaddatanloveوَرَحْمَةًwaraḥmatanand mercyإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَاتٍlaāyātinsurely (are) Signsلِقَوْمٍliqawminfor a peopleيَتَفَكَّرُونَyatafakkarūnawho reflect
  22. 22وَمِنْwaminAnd amongءَايَاتِهِāyātihiHis Signsخَلْقُkhalqu(is the) creationالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَاخْتِلَافُwa-ikh'tilāfuand the diversityأَلْسِنَتِكُمْalsinatikum(of) your languagesوَأَلْوَانِكُمْwa-alwānikumand your colorsإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَاتٍlaāyātinsurely (are) Signsلِلْعَالِمِينَlil'ʿālimīnafor those of knowledge
  23. 23وَمِنْwaminAnd amongءَايَاتِهِāyātihiHis Signsمَنَامُكُمْmanāmukum(is) your sleepبِاللَّيْلِbi-al-layliby nightوَالنَّهَارِwal-nahāriand the dayوَابْتِغَاؤُكُمْwa-ib'tighāukum[and] your seekingمِنْminofفَضْلِهِfaḍlihiHis BountyإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَاتٍlaāyātinsurely (are) Signsلِقَوْمٍliqawminfor a peopleيَسْمَعُونَyasmaʿūnawho listen
  24. 24وَمِنْwaminAnd amongءَايَاتِهِāyātihiHis SignsيُرِيكُمُyurīkumuHe shows youالْبَرْقَl-barqathe lightningخَوْفًاkhawfan(causing) fearوَطَمَعًاwaṭamaʿanand hopeوَيُنَزِّلُwayunazziluand He sends downمِنَminafromالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe skyمَاءًmāanwaterفَيُحْيِيfayuḥ'yīand gives lifeبِهِbihitherewithالْأَرْضَl-arḍa(to) the earthبَعْدَbaʿdaafterمَوْتِهَاmawtihāits deathإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَاتٍlaāyātinsurely (are) Signsلِقَوْمٍliqawminfor a peopleيَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūnawho use intellect
  25. 25وَمِنْwaminAnd amongءَايَاتِهِāyātihiHis Signsأَنْan(is) thatتَقُومَtaqūmastandsالسَّمَاءُl-samāuthe heavensوَالْأَرْضُwal-arḍuand the earthبِأَمْرِهِbi-amrihiby His CommandثُمَّthummaThenإِذَاidhāwhenدَعَاكُمْdaʿākumHe calls youدَعْوَةًdaʿwatan(with) a callمِنَminafromالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthإِذَاidhābehold!أَنْتُمْantumYouتَخْرُجُونَtakhrujūnawill come forth
  26. 26وَلَهُwalahuAnd to Him (belongs)مَنْmanwhoeverفِي(is) inالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthكُلٌّkullunAllلَهُlahuto Himقَانِتُونَqānitūna(are) obedient
  27. 27وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoيَبْدَؤُاyabda-uoriginatesالْخَلْقَl-khalqathe creationثُمَّthummathenيُعِيدُهُyuʿīduhurepeats itوَهُوَwahuwaand itأَهْوَنُahwanu(is) easierعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor HimوَلَهُwalahuAnd for Himالْمَثَلُl-mathalu(is) the descriptionالْأَعْلَىl-aʿlāthe highestفِيinالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyالْحَكِيمُl-ḥakīmuthe All-Wise
  28. 28ضَرَبَḍarabaHe sets forthلَكُمْlakumto youمَثَلًاmathalanan exampleمِنْminfromأَنْفُسِكُمْanfusikumyourselvesهَلْhalIsلَكُمْlakumfor youمِنْminamongمَاwhatمَلَكَتْmalakatpossesأَيْمَانُكُمْaymānukumyour right handsمِنْminanyشُرَكَاءَshurakāapartnersفِيinمَاwhatرَزَقْنَاكُمْrazaqnākumWe have provided youفَأَنْتُمْfa-antumso youفِيهِfīhiin itسَوَاءٌsawāon(are) equalتَخَافُونَهُمْtakhāfūnahumyou fear themكَخِيفَتِكُمْkakhīfatikumas you fearأَنْفُسَكُمْanfusakumyourselvesكَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusنُفَصِّلُnufaṣṣiluWe explainالْءَايَاتِl-āyātithe Versesلِقَوْمٍliqawminfor a peopleيَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūna(who) use reason
  29. 29بَلِbaliNayاتَّبَعَittabaʿafollowالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoظَلَمُواẓalamūdo wrongأَهْوَاءَهُمْahwāahumtheir desiresبِغَيْرِbighayriwithoutعِلْمٍʿil'minknowledgeفَمَنْfamanThen whoيَهْدِيyahdī(can) guideمَنْman(one) whomأَضَلَّaḍallaAllah has let go astrayاللَّهُl-lahuAllah has let go astrayوَمَاwamāAnd notلَهُمْlahumfor themمِنْminanyنَاصِرِينَnāṣirīnahelpers
  30. 30فَأَقِمْfa-aqimSo setوَجْهَكَwajhakayour faceلِلدِّينِlilddīnito the religionحَنِيفًاḥanīfanuprightفِطْرَتَfiṭ'rataNatureاللَّهِl-lahi(made by) Allahالَّتِيallatī(upon) whichفَطَرَfaṭaraHe has createdالنَّاسَl-nāsamankindعَلَيْهَاʿalayhā[on it]لَاNoتَبْدِيلَtabdīlachangeلِخَلْقِlikhalqi(should there be) in the creationاللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahذَلِكَdhālikaThatالدِّينُl-dīnu(is) the religionالْقَيِّمُl-qayimuthe correctوَلَكِنَّwalākinnabutأَكْثَرَaktharamostالنَّاسِl-nāsimenلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
  31. 31مُنِيبِينَmunībīnaTurningإِلَيْهِilayhito Himوَاتَّقُوهُwa-ittaqūhuand fear Himوَأَقِيمُواwa-aqīmūand establishالصَّلَوةَl-ṣalatathe prayerوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَكُونُواtakūnūbeمِنَminaofالْمُشْرِكِينَl-mush'rikīnathe polytheists
  32. 32مِنَminaOfالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoفَرَّقُواfarraqūdivideدِينَهُمْdīnahumtheir religionوَكَانُواwakānūand becomeشِيَعًاshiyaʿansectsكُلُّkullueachحِزْبٍḥiz'binpartyبِمَاbimāin whatلَدَيْهِمْladayhimthey haveفَرِحُونَfariḥūnarejoicing
  33. 33وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenمَسَّmassatouchesالنَّاسَl-nāsamenضُرٌّḍurrunhardshipدَعَوْاdaʿawthey callرَبَّهُمْrabbahumtheir Lordمُنِيبِينَmunībīnaturningإِلَيْهِilayhito HimثُمَّthummaThenإِذَاidhāwhenأَذَاقَهُمْadhāqahumHe causes them to tasteمِنْهُmin'hufrom HimرَحْمَةًraḥmatanMercyإِذَاidhābehold!فَرِيقٌfarīqunA partyمِنْهُمْmin'humof themبِرَبِّهِمْbirabbihimwith their Lordيُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnaassociate partners
  34. 34لِيَكْفُرُواliyakfurūSo as to denyبِمَاbimā[in] whatءَاتَيْنَاهُمْātaynāhumWe have granted themفَتَمَتَّعُواfatamattaʿūThen enjoyفَسَوْفَfasawfabut soonتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnayou will know
  35. 35أَمْamOrأَنْزَلْنَاanzalnāhave We sentعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themسُلْطَانًاsul'ṭānanan authorityفَهُوَfahuwaand itيَتَكَلَّمُyatakallamuspeaksبِمَاbimāof whatكَانُواkānūthey wereبِهِbihiwith Himيُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnaassociating
  36. 36وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenأَذَقْنَاadhaqnāWe cause men to tasteالنَّاسَl-nāsaWe cause men to tasteرَحْمَةًraḥmatanmercyفَرِحُواfariḥūthey rejoiceبِهَاbihāthereinوَإِنْwa-inBut ifتُصِبْهُمْtuṣib'humafflicts themسَيِّئَةٌsayyi-atunan evilبِمَاbimāfor whatقَدَّمَتْqaddamathave sent forthأَيْدِيهِمْaydīhimtheir handsإِذَاidhābeholdهُمْhumTheyيَقْنَطُونَyaqnaṭūnadespair
  37. 37أَوَلَمْawalamDo notيَرَوْاyarawthey seeأَنَّannathatاللَّهَl-lahaAllahيَبْسُطُyabsuṭuextendsالرِّزْقَl-riz'qathe provisionلِمَنْlimanfor whomيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsوَيَقْدِرُwayaqdiruand straitens (it)إِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَاتٍlaāyātinsurely (are) Signsلِقَوْمٍliqawminfor a peopleيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnawho believe
  38. 38فَءَاتِfaātiSo giveذَاdhāthe relativeالْقُرْبَىl-qur'bāthe relativeحَقَّهُḥaqqahuhis rightوَالْمِسْكِينَwal-mis'kīnaand the poorوَابْنَwa-ib'naand the wayfarerالسَّبِيلِl-sabīliand the wayfarerذَلِكَdhālikaThatخَيْرٌkhayrun(is) bestلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnafor those whoيُرِيدُونَyurīdūnadesireوَجْهَwajha(the) Countenanceاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahوَأُولَئِكَwa-ulāikaAnd thoseهُمُhumutheyالْمُفْلِحُونَl-muf'liḥūna(are) the successful ones
  39. 39وَمَاwamāAnd whatءَاتَيْتُمْātaytumyou giveمِنْminforرِبًاribanusuryلِيَرْبُوَاliyarbuwāto increaseفِيinأَمْوَالِamwāli(the) wealthالنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) peopleفَلَاfalānotيَرْبُواyarbū(will) increaseعِنْدَʿindawithاللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَمَاwamāBut whatءَاتَيْتُمْātaytumyou giveمِنْminofزَكَوةٍzakatinzakahتُرِيدُونَturīdūnadesiringوَجْهَwajha(the) Countenanceاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahفَأُولَئِكَfa-ulāikathen thoseهُمُhumu[they]الْمُضْعِفُونَl-muḍ'ʿifūna(will) get manifold
  40. 40اللَّهُal-lahuAllahالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoخَلَقَكُمْkhalaqakumcreated youثُمَّthummathenرَزَقَكُمْrazaqakumHe provided (for) youثُمَّthummathenيُمِيتُكُمْyumītukumHe will cause you to dieثُمَّthummathenيُحْيِيكُمْyuḥ'yīkumHe will give you lifeهَلْhalIs (there)مِنْminanyشُرَكَائِكُمْshurakāikum(of) your partnersمَنْmanwhoيَفْعَلُyafʿaludoesمِنْminofذَلِكُمْdhālikumthatمِنْminanyشَيْءٍshayinthingسُبْحَانَهُsub'ḥānahuGlory be to Himوَتَعَالَىwataʿālāand exalted is Heعَمَّاʿammāabove whatيُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnathey associate
  41. 41ظَهَرَẓaharaHas appearedالْفَسَادُl-fasāduthe corruptionفِيinالْبَرِّl-barithe landوَالْبَحْرِwal-baḥriand the seaبِمَاbimāfor whatكَسَبَتْkasabathave earnedأَيْدِيaydī(the) handsالنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) peopleلِيُذِيقَهُمْliyudhīqahumso that He may let them tasteبَعْضَbaʿḍaa partالَّذِيalladhī(of) that whichعَمِلُواʿamilūthey have doneلَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayيَرْجِعُونَyarjiʿūnareturn
  42. 42قُلْqulSayسِيرُواsīrūTravelفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthفَانْظُرُواfa-unẓurūand seeكَيْفَkayfahowكَانَkānawasعَاقِبَةُʿāqibatu(the) endالَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoمِنْmin(were) beforeقَبْلُqablu(were) beforeكَانَkānaMost of them wereأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhumMost of them wereمُشْرِكِينَmush'rikīnapolytheists
  43. 43فَأَقِمْfa-aqimSo setوَجْهَكَwajhakayour faceلِلدِّينِlilddīnito the religionالْقَيِّمِl-qayimirightمِنْminbeforeقَبْلِqablibeforeأَنْan[that]يَأْتِيَyatiyacomesيَوْمٌyawmuna Dayلَاnotمَرَدَّmaradda(can be) avertedلَهُlahu[it]مِنَminafromاللَّهِl-lahiAllahيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinThat Dayيَصَّدَّعُونَyaṣṣaddaʿūnathey will be divided
  44. 44مَنْmanWhoeverكَفَرَkafaradisbelievesفَعَلَيْهِfaʿalayhithen against himكُفْرُهُkuf'ruhu(is) his disbeliefوَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverعَمِلَʿamiladoesصَالِحًاṣāliḥanrighteousnessفَلِأَنْفُسِهِمْfali-anfusihimthen for themselvesيَمْهَدُونَyamhadūnathey are preparing
  45. 45لِيَجْزِيَliyajziyaThat He may rewardالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveوَعَمِلُواwaʿamilūand doالصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deedsمِنْmin(out) ofفَضْلِهِfaḍlihiHis BountyإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed Heلَا(does) notيُحِبُّyuḥibbulikeالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelievers
  46. 46وَمِنْwaminAnd amongءَايَاتِهِāyātihiHis Signsأَنْan(is) thatيُرْسِلَyur'silaHe sendsالرِّيَاحَl-riyāḥathe windsمُبَشِّرَاتٍmubashirātin(as) bearers of glad tidingsوَلِيُذِيقَكُمْwaliyudhīqakumand to let you tasteمِنْminofرَحْمَتِهِraḥmatihiHis Mercyوَلِتَجْرِيَwalitajriyaand that may sailالْفُلْكُl-ful'kuthe shipsبِأَمْرِهِbi-amrihiat His Commandوَلِتَبْتَغُواwalitabtaghūand that you may seekمِنْminofفَضْلِهِfaḍlihiHis Bountyوَلَعَلَّكُمْwalaʿallakumand that you mayتَشْكُرُونَtashkurūnabe grateful
  47. 47وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentمِنْminbefore youقَبْلِكَqablikabefore youرُسُلًاrusulanMessengersإِلَىilātoقَوْمِهِمْqawmihimtheir peopleفَجَاءُوهُمْfajāūhumand they came to themبِالْبَيِّنَاتِbil-bayinātiwith clear proofsفَانْتَقَمْنَاfa-intaqamnāthen We took retributionمِنَminafromالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoأَجْرَمُواajramūcommitted crimesوَكَانَwakānaAnd it wasحَقًّاḥaqqanincumbentعَلَيْنَاʿalaynāupon Usنَصْرُnaṣru(to) helpالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
  48. 48اللَّهُal-lahuAllahالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoيُرْسِلُyur'silusendsالرِّيَاحَl-riyāḥathe windsفَتُثِيرُfatuthīruso they raiseسَحَابًاsaḥāban(the) cloudsفَيَبْسُطُهُfayabsuṭuhuthen He spreads themفِيinالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe skyكَيْفَkayfahowيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsوَيَجْعَلُهُwayajʿaluhuand He makes themكِسَفًاkisafanfragmentsفَتَرَىfatarāso you seeالْوَدْقَl-wadqathe rainيَخْرُجُyakhrujucoming forthمِنْminfromخِلَالِهِkhilālihitheir midstفَإِذَاfa-idhāThen whenأَصَابَaṣābaHe causes it to fall onبِهِbihiHe causes it to fall onمَنْmanwhomيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsمِنْminofعِبَادِهِʿibādihiHis slavesإِذَاidhābeholdهُمْhumTheyيَسْتَبْشِرُونَyastabshirūnarejoice
  49. 49وَإِنْwa-inAnd certainlyكَانُواkānūthey wereمِنْminbeforeقَبْلِqablibeforeأَنْan[that]يُنَزَّلَyunazzalait was sent downعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimupon themمِنْmin[before it]قَبْلِهِqablihi[before it]لَمُبْلِسِينَlamub'lisīnasurely in despair
  50. 50فَانْظُرْfa-unẓurSo lookإِلَىilāatءَاثَارِāthāri(the) effectsرَحْمَتِraḥmati(of the) Mercyاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahكَيْفَkayfahowيُحْيِيyuḥ'yīHe gives lifeالْأَرْضَl-arḍa(to) the earthبَعْدَbaʿdaafterمَوْتِهَاmawtihāits deathإِنَّinnaIndeedذَلِكَdhālikathatلَمُحْيِيlamuḥ'yīsurely He (will) give lifeالْمَوْتَىl-mawtā(to) the deadوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heعَلَىʿalā(is) onكُلِّkullieveryشَيْءٍshayinthingقَدِيرٌqadīrunAll-Powerful
  51. 51وَلَئِنْwala-inBut ifأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentرِيحًاrīḥana windفَرَأَوْهُfara-awhuand they see itمُصْفَرًّاmuṣ'farranturn yellowلَظَلُّواlaẓallūcertainly they continueمِنْminafter itبَعْدِهِbaʿdihiafter itيَكْفُرُونَyakfurūna(in) disbelief
  52. 52فَإِنَّكَfa-innakaSo indeed, youلَا(can) notتُسْمِعُtus'miʿumake the dead hearالْمَوْتَىl-mawtāmake the dead hearوَلَاwalāand notتُسْمِعُtus'miʿumake the deaf hearالصُّمَّl-ṣumamake the deaf hearالدُّعَاءَl-duʿāathe callإِذَاidhāwhenوَلَّوْاwallawthey turnمُدْبِرِينَmud'birīnaretreating
  53. 53وَمَاwamāAnd notأَنْتَantayouبِهَادِbihādican guideالْعُمْيِl-ʿum'yithe blindعَنْʿanfromضَلَالَتِهِمْḍalālatihimtheir errorإِنْinNotتُسْمِعُtus'miʿuyou can make hearإِلَّاillāexceptمَنْman(those) whoيُؤْمِنُyu'minubelieveبِءَايَاتِنَاbiāyātināin Our Versesفَهُمْfahumso theyمُسْلِمُونَmus'limūnasurrender
  54. 54اللَّهُal-lahuAllahالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoخَلَقَكُمْkhalaqakumcreated youمِنْminfromضَعْفٍḍaʿfinweaknessثُمَّthummathenجَعَلَjaʿalamadeمِنْminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterضَعْفٍḍaʿfinweaknessقُوَّةًquwwatanstrengthثُمَّthummathenجَعَلَjaʿalamadeمِنْminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterقُوَّةٍquwwatinstrengthضَعْفًاḍaʿfanweaknessوَشَيْبَةًwashaybatanand gray hairيَخْلُقُyakhluquHe createsمَاwhatيَشَاءُyashāuHe willsوَهُوَwahuwaand Heالْعَلِيمُl-ʿalīmu(is) the All-Knowerالْقَدِيرُl-qadīruthe All-Powerful
  55. 55وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) Dayتَقُومُtaqūmuwill (be) establishedالسَّاعَةُl-sāʿatuthe Hourيُقْسِمُyuq'simuwill swearالْمُجْرِمُونَl-muj'rimūnathe criminalsمَاnotلَبِثُواlabithūthey remainedغَيْرَghayrabutسَاعَةٍsāʿatinan hourكَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusكَانُواkānūthey wereيُؤْفَكُونَyu'fakūnadeluded
  56. 56وَقَالَwaqālaBut will sayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoأُوتُواūtūwere givenالْعِلْمَl-ʿil'mathe knowledgeوَالْإِيمَانَwal-īmānaand the faithلَقَدْlaqadVerilyلَبِثْتُمْlabith'tumyou remainedفِيbyكِتَابِkitābi(the) Decreeاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahإِلَىilāuntilيَوْمِyawmi(the) Dayالْبَعْثِl-baʿthi(of) ResurrectionفَهَذَاfahādhāAnd thisيَوْمُyawmu(is the) Dayالْبَعْثِl-baʿthi(of) the Resurrectionوَلَكِنَّكُمْwalākinnakumbut youكُنْتُمْkuntumwereلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknowing
  57. 57فَيَوْمَئِذٍfayawma-idhinSo that Dayلَاnotيَنْفَعُyanfaʿuwill profitالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoظَلَمُواẓalamūwrongedمَعْذِرَتُهُمْmaʿdhiratuhumtheir excusesوَلَاwalāand notهُمْhumtheyيُسْتَعْتَبُونَyus'taʿtabūnawill be allowed to make amends
  58. 58وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyضَرَبْنَاḍarabnāWe (have) set forthلِلنَّاسِlilnnāsifor mankindفِيinهَذَاhādhāthisالْقُرْءَانِl-qur'āni[the] Quranمِنْminofكُلِّkullieveryمَثَلٍmathalinexampleوَلَئِنْwala-inBut ifجِئْتَهُمْji'tahumyou bring themبِءَايَةٍbiāyatina signلَيَقُولَنَّlayaqūlannasurely will sayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveإِنْinNotأَنْتُمْantumyouإِلَّاillā(are) exceptمُبْطِلُونَmub'ṭilūnafalsifiers
  59. 59كَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusيَطْبَعُyaṭbaʿuAllah sealsاللَّهُl-lahuAllah sealsعَلَىʿalā[on]قُلُوبِqulūbi(the) heartsالَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknow
  60. 60فَاصْبِرْfa-iṣ'birSo be patientإِنَّinnaIndeedوَعْدَwaʿda(the) Promiseاللَّهِl-lahi(of) Allahحَقٌّḥaqqun(is) trueوَلَاwalāAnd (let) notيَسْتَخِفَّنَّكَyastakhiffannakatake you in light estimationالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoلَا(are) notيُوقِنُونَyūqinūnacertain in faith
