بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 26 — Ash-Shu'araa

  2. 2تِلْكَtil'kaTheseءَايَاتُāyātu(are the) Versesالْكِتَابِl-kitābi(of) the Bookالْمُبِينِl-mubīniclear
  3. 3لَعَلَّكَlaʿallakaPerhaps youبَاخِعٌbākhiʿun(would) killنَفْسَكَnafsakayourselfأَلَّاallāthat notيَكُونُواyakūnūthey becomeمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
  4. 4إِنْinIfنَشَأْnashaWe willنُنَزِّلْnunazzilWe can send downعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themمِنَminafromالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe skyءَايَةًāyatana Signفَظَلَّتْfaẓallatso would bendأَعْنَاقُهُمْaʿnāquhumtheir necksلَهَاlahāto itخَاضِعِينَkhāḍiʿīna(in) humility
  5. 5وَمَاwamāAnd (does) notيَأْتِيهِمْyatīhimcome to themمِنْminanyذِكْرٍdhik'rinreminderمِنَminafromالرَّحْمَنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousمُحْدَثٍmuḥ'dathinnewإِلَّاillābutكَانُواkānūtheyعَنْهُʿanhufrom itمُعْرِضِينَmuʿ'riḍīnaturn away
  6. 6فَقَدْfaqadSo verilyكَذَّبُواkadhabūthey have deniedفَسَيَأْتِيهِمْfasayatīhimthen will come to themأَنبَؤُاanbāuthe newsمَا(of) whatكَانُواkānūthey usedبِهِbihiat itيَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūna(to) mock
  7. 7أَوَلَمْawalamDo notيَرَوْاyarawthey seeإِلَىilāatالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthكَمْkamhow manyأَنْبَتْنَاanbatnāWe producedفِيهَاfīhāin itمِنْminofكُلِّkullieveryزَوْجٍzawjinkindكَرِيمٍkarīminnoble
  8. 8إِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَةًlaāyatansurely (is) a signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
  9. 9وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely Heالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyالرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
  10. 10وَإِذْwa-idhAnd whenنَادَىnādāyour Lord calledرَبُّكَrabbukayour Lord calledمُوسَىmūsāMusaأَنِani[that]ائْتِi'tiGoالْقَوْمَl-qawma(to) the peopleالظَّالِمِينَl-ẓālimīna(who are) wrongdoers
  11. 11قَوْمَqawma(The) peopleفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawna(of) FiraunأَلَاalāWill notيَتَّقُونَyattaqūnathey fear
  12. 12قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!إِنِّيinnīIndeed Iأَخَافُakhāfu[I] fearأَنْanthatيُكَذِّبُونِyukadhibūnithey will deny me
  13. 13وَيَضِيقُwayaḍīquAnd straitensصَدْرِيṣadrīmy breastوَلَاwalāand notيَنْطَلِقُyanṭaliquexpresses wellلِسَانِيlisānīmy tongueفَأَرْسِلْfa-arsilso sendإِلَىilāforهَارُونَhārūnaHarun
  14. 14وَلَهُمْwalahumAnd they haveعَلَيَّʿalayyaagainst meذَنْبٌdhanbuna crimeفَأَخَافُfa-akhāfuso I fearأَنْanthatيَقْتُلُونِyaqtulūnithey will kill me
  15. 15قَالَqālaHe saidكَلَّاkallāNayفَاذْهَبَاfa-idh'habāgo both of youبِءَايَاتِنَاbiāyātināwith Our SignsإِنَّاinnāIndeed Weمَعَكُمْmaʿakum(are) with youمُسْتَمِعُونَmus'tamiʿūnalistening
  16. 16فَأْتِيَاfatiyāSo go both of youفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawna(to) Firaunفَقُولَاfaqūlāand sayإِنَّاinnāIndeed weرَسُولُrasūlu(are the) Messengerرَبِّrabbi(of the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
  17. 17أَنْan[That]أَرْسِلْarsilsendمَعَنَاmaʿanāwith usبَنِيbanīthe children (of Israel)إِسْرَاءِيلَis'rāīla(the children) of Israel
  18. 18قَالَqālaHe saidأَلَمْalamDid notنُرَبِّكَnurabbikawe bring you upفِينَاfīnāamong usوَلِيدًاwalīdan(as) a childوَلَبِثْتَwalabith'taand you remainedفِينَاfīnāamong usمِنْminofعُمُرِكَʿumurikayour lifeسِنِينَsinīnayears
  19. 19وَفَعَلْتَwafaʿaltaAnd you didفَعْلَتَكَfaʿlatakayour deedالَّتِيallatīwhichفَعَلْتَfaʿaltayou didوَأَنْتَwa-antaand youمِنَmina(were) ofالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe ungrateful
  20. 20قَالَqālaHe saidفَعَلْتُهَاfaʿaltuhāI did itإِذًاidhanwhenوَأَنَاwa-anāIمِنَmina(was) ofالضَّالِّينَl-ḍālīnathose who are astray
  21. 21فَفَرَرْتُfafarartuSo I fledمِنْكُمْminkumfrom youلَمَّاlammāwhenخِفْتُكُمْkhif'tukumI feared youفَوَهَبَfawahabaBut grantedلِيto meرَبِّيrabbīmy Lordحُكْمًاḥuk'manjudgmentوَجَعَلَنِيwajaʿalanīand made meمِنَminaofالْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
  22. 22وَتِلْكَwatil'kaAnd thisنِعْمَةٌniʿ'matun(is the) favorتَمُنُّهَاtamunnuhāwith which you reproachعَلَيَّʿalayya[on] meأَنْanthatعَبَّدْتَʿabbadttayou have enslavedبَنِيbanī(the) Children of Israelإِسْرَاءِيلَis'rāīla(the) Children of Israel
  23. 23قَالَqālaFiraun saidفِرْعَوْنُfir'ʿawnuFiraun saidوَمَاwamāAnd whatرَبُّrabbu(is the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
  24. 24قَالَqālaHe saidرَبُّrabbuLordالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَمَاwamāand whateverبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā(is) between themإِنْinifكُنْتُمْkuntumyou (should) beمُوقِنِينَmūqinīnaconvinced
  25. 25قَالَqālaHe saidلِمَنْlimanto thoseحَوْلَهُḥawlahuaround himأَلَاalāDo notتَسْتَمِعُونَtastamiʿūnayou hear
  26. 26قَالَqālaHe saidرَبُّكُمْrabbukumYour Lordوَرَبُّwarabbuand (the) Lordءَابَائِكُمُābāikumu(of) your forefathersالْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) your forefathers
  27. 27قَالَqālaHe saidإِنَّinnaIndeedرَسُولَكُمُrasūlakumuyour Messengerالَّذِيalladhīwhoأُرْسِلَur'silahas been sentإِلَيْكُمْilaykumto youلَمَجْنُونٌlamajnūnun(is) surely mad
  28. 28قَالَqālaHe saidرَبُّrabbuLordالْمَشْرِقِl-mashriqi(of) the eastوَالْمَغْرِبِwal-maghribiand the westوَمَاwamāand whateverبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā(is) between themإِنْinifكُنْتُمْkuntumyou wereتَعْقِلُونَtaʿqilūna(to) reason
  29. 29قَالَqālaHe saidلَئِنِla-iniIfاتَّخَذْتَittakhadhtayou takeإِلَهًاilāhana godغَيْرِيghayrīother than meلَأَجْعَلَنَّكَla-ajʿalannakaI will surely make youمِنَminaamongالْمَسْجُونِينَl-masjūnīnathose imprisoned
  30. 30قَالَqālaHe saidأَوَلَوْawalawEven ifجِئْتُكَji'tukaI bring youبِشَيْءٍbishayinsomethingمُبِينٍmubīninmanifest
  31. 31قَالَqālaHe saidفَأْتِfatiThen bringبِهِbihiitإِنْinifكُنْتَkuntayou areمِنَminaofالصَّادِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
  32. 32فَأَلْقَىfa-alqāSo he threwعَصَاهُʿaṣāhuhis staffفَإِذَاfa-idhāand behold!هِيَhiyaItثُعْبَانٌthuʿ'bānun(was) a serpentمُبِينٌmubīnunmanifest
  33. 33وَنَزَعَwanazaʿaAnd he drew outيَدَهُyadahuhis handفَإِذَاfa-idhāand behold!هِيَhiyaItبَيْضَاءُbayḍāu(was) whiteلِلنَّاظِرِينَlilnnāẓirīnafor the observers
  34. 34قَالَqālaHe saidلِلْمَلَإِlil'mala-ito the chiefsحَوْلَهُḥawlahuaround himإِنَّinnaIndeedهَذَاhādhāthisلَسَاحِرٌlasāḥirun(is) surely a magicianعَلِيمٌʿalīmunlearned
  35. 35يُرِيدُyurīduHe wantsأَنْantoيُخْرِجَكُمْyukh'rijakumdrive you outمِنْminfromأَرْضِكُمْarḍikumyour landبِسِحْرِهِbisiḥ'rihiby his magicفَمَاذَاfamādhāso whatتَأْمُرُونَtamurūna(do) you advise
  36. 36قَالُواqālūThey saidأَرْجِهْarjihPost pone himوَأَخَاهُwa-akhāhuand his brotherوَابْعَثْwa-ib'ʿathand sendفِيinالْمَدَائِنِl-madāinithe citiesحَاشِرِينَḥāshirīnagatherers
  37. 37يَأْتُوكَyatūkaThey (will) bring to youبِكُلِّbikullieveryسَحَّارٍsaḥḥārinmagicianعَلِيمٍʿalīminlearned
  38. 38فَجُمِعَfajumiʿaSo were assembledالسَّحَرَةُl-saḥaratuthe magiciansلِمِيقَاتِlimīqātifor (the) appointmentيَوْمٍyawmin(on) a dayمَعْلُومٍmaʿlūminwell-known
  39. 39وَقِيلَwaqīlaAnd it was saidلِلنَّاسِlilnnāsito the peopleهَلْhalWillأَنْتُمْantumyouمُجْتَمِعُونَmuj'tamiʿūnaassemble
  40. 40لَعَلَّنَاlaʿallanāThat we mayنَتَّبِعُnattabiʿufollowالسَّحَرَةَl-saḥaratathe magiciansإِنْinifكَانُواkānūthey areهُمُhumuthey areالْغَالِبِينَl-ghālibīnathe victorious
  41. 41فَلَمَّاfalammāSo whenجَاءَjāacameالسَّحَرَةُl-saḥaratuthe magiciansقَالُواqālūthey saidلِفِرْعَوْنَlifir'ʿawnato Firaunأَئِنَّa-innaIs thereلَنَاlanāfor usلَأَجْرًاla-ajrana rewardإِنْinifكُنَّاkunnāwe areنَحْنُnaḥnuwe areالْغَالِبِينَl-ghālibīnathe victorious
  42. 42قَالَqālaHe saidنَعَمْnaʿamYesوَإِنَّكُمْwa-innakumand indeed youإِذًاidhanthenلَمِنَlaminasurely (will be) ofالْمُقَرَّبِينَl-muqarabīnathe ones who are brought near
  43. 43قَالَqālaSaidلَهُمْlahumto themمُوسَىmūsāMusaأَلْقُواalqūThrowمَاwhatأَنْتُمْantumyouمُلْقُونَmul'qūna(are) going to throw
  44. 44فَأَلْقَوْاfa-alqawSo they threwحِبَالَهُمْḥibālahumtheir ropesوَعِصِيَّهُمْwaʿiṣiyyahumand their staffsوَقَالُواwaqālūand saidبِعِزَّةِbiʿizzatiBy the mightفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawna(of) Firaunإِنَّاinnāindeed weلَنَحْنُlanaḥnusurely weالْغَالِبُونَl-ghālibūna(are) the victorious
  45. 45فَأَلْقَىfa-alqāThen threwمُوسَىmūsāMusaعَصَاهُʿaṣāhuhis staffفَإِذَاfa-idhāand behold!هِيَhiyaItتَلْقَفُtalqafuswallowedمَاwhatيَأْفِكُونَyafikūnathey falsified
  46. 46فَأُلْقِيَfa-ul'qiyaThen fell downالسَّحَرَةُl-saḥaratuthe magiciansسَاجِدِينَsājidīnaprostrate
  47. 47قَالُواqālūThey saidءَامَنَّاāmannāWe believeبِرَبِّbirabbiin (the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
  48. 48رَبِّrabbiLordمُوسَىmūsā(of) Musaوَهَارُونَwahārūnaand Harun
  49. 49قَالَqālaHe saidءَامَنْتُمْāmantumYou believedلَهُlahuin himقَبْلَqablabeforeأَنْan[that]ءَاذَنَādhanaI gave permissionلَكُمْlakumto youإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heلَكَبِيرُكُمُlakabīrukumu(is) surely your chiefالَّذِيalladhīwhoعَلَّمَكُمُʿallamakumuhas taught youالسِّحْرَl-siḥ'rathe magicفَلَسَوْفَfalasawfaso surely soonتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnayou will knowلَأُقَطِّعَنَّla-uqaṭṭiʿannaI will surely cut offأَيْدِيَكُمْaydiyakumyour handsوَأَرْجُلَكُمْwa-arjulakumand your feetمِنْminofخِلَافٍkhilāfinopposite sidesوَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْwala-uṣallibannakumand I will surely crucify youأَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīnaall
  50. 50قَالُواqālūThey saidلَاNoضَيْرَḍayraharmإِنَّاinnāIndeed weإِلَىilātoرَبِّنَاrabbināour Lordمُنْقَلِبُونَmunqalibūna(will) return
  51. 51إِنَّاinnāIndeed weنَطْمَعُnaṭmaʿuhopeأَنْanthatيَغْفِرَyaghfirawill forgiveلَنَاlanāusرَبُّنَاrabbunāour Lordخَطَايَانَاkhaṭāyānāour sinsأَنْanbecauseكُنَّاkunnāwe areأَوَّلَawwala(the) firstالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīna(of) the believers
  52. 52وَأَوْحَيْنَاwa-awḥaynāAnd We inspiredإِلَىilātoمُوسَىmūsāMusaأَنْan[that]أَسْرِasriTravel by nightبِعِبَادِيbiʿibādīwith My slavesإِنَّكُمْinnakumindeed youمُتَّبَعُونَmuttabaʿūna(will be) followed
  53. 53فَأَرْسَلَfa-arsalaThen sentفِرْعَوْنُfir'ʿawnuFiraunفِيinالْمَدَائِنِl-madāinithe citiesحَاشِرِينَḥāshirīnagatherers
  54. 54إِنَّinnaIndeedهَؤُلَاءِhāulāitheseلَشِرْذِمَةٌlashir'dhimatun(are) certainly a bandقَلِيلُونَqalīlūnasmall
  55. 55وَإِنَّهُمْwa-innahumAnd indeed, theyلَنَاlanā[to] usلَغَائِظُونَlaghāiẓūna(are) surely enraging
  56. 56وَإِنَّاwa-innāAnd indeed weلَجَمِيعٌlajamīʿun(are) surely a multitudeحَاذِرُونَḥādhirūnaforewarned
  57. 57فَأَخْرَجْنَاهُمْfa-akhrajnāhumSo We expelled themمِنْminfromجَنَّاتٍjannātingardensوَعُيُونٍwaʿuyūninand springs
  58. 58وَكُنُوزٍwakunūzinAnd treasuresوَمَقَامٍwamaqāminand a placeكَرِيمٍkarīminhonorable
  59. 59كَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusوَأَوْرَثْنَاهَاwa-awrathnāhāAnd We caused to inherit themبَنِيbanī(the) Children of Israelإِسْرَاءِيلَis'rāīla(the) Children of Israel
  60. 60فَأَتْبَعُوهُمْfa-atbaʿūhumSo they followed themمُشْرِقِينَmush'riqīna(at) sunrise
  61. 61فَلَمَّاfalammāThen whenتَرَاءَاtarāāsaw each otherالْجَمْعَانِl-jamʿānithe two hostsقَالَqālasaidأَصْحَابُaṣḥābu(the) companionsمُوسَىmūsā(of) MusaإِنَّاinnāIndeed weلَمُدْرَكُونَlamud'rakūna(are) surely to be overtaken
  62. 62قَالَqālaHe saidكَلَّاkallāNayإِنَّinnaindeedمَعِيَmaʿiyawith meرَبِّيrabbī(is) my LordسَيَهْدِينِsayahdīniHe will guide me
  63. 63فَأَوْحَيْنَاfa-awḥaynāThen We inspiredإِلَىilātoمُوسَىmūsāMusaأَنِani[that]اضْرِبْiḍ'ribStrikeبِعَصَاكَbiʿaṣākawith your staffالْبَحْرَl-baḥrathe seaفَانْفَلَقَfa-infalaqaSo it partedفَكَانَfakānaand becameكُلُّkullueachفِرْقٍfir'qinpartكَالطَّوْدِkal-ṭawdilike the mountainالْعَظِيمِl-ʿaẓīmi[the] great
  64. 64وَأَزْلَفْنَاwa-azlafnāAnd We brought nearثَمَّthammathereالْءَاخَرِينَl-ākharīnathe others
  65. 65وَأَنْجَيْنَاwa-anjaynāAnd We savedمُوسَىmūsāMusaوَمَنْwamanand whoمَعَهُmaʿahu(were) with himأَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīnaall
  66. 66ثُمَّthummaThenأَغْرَقْنَاaghraqnāWe drownedالْءَاخَرِينَl-ākharīnathe others
  67. 67إِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَةًlaāyatansurely (is) a Signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
  68. 68وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely Heالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyالرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
  69. 69وَاتْلُwa-ut'luAnd reciteعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themنَبَأَnaba-a(the) newsإِبْرَاهِيمَib'rāhīma(of) Ibrahim
  70. 70إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālahe saidلِأَبِيهِli-abīhito his fatherوَقَوْمِهِwaqawmihiand his peopleمَاWhatتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūna(do) you worship
  71. 71قَالُواqālūThey saidنَعْبُدُnaʿbuduWe worshipأَصْنَامًاaṣnāmanidolsفَنَظَلُّfanaẓalluso we will remainلَهَاlahāto themعَاكِفِينَʿākifīnadevoted
  72. 72قَالَqālaHe saidهَلْhalDoيَسْمَعُونَكُمْyasmaʿūnakumthey hear youإِذْidhwhenتَدْعُونَtadʿūnayou call
  73. 73أَوْawOrيَنْفَعُونَكُمْyanfaʿūnakum(do) they benefit youأَوْaworيَضُرُّونَyaḍurrūnathey harm (you)
  74. 74قَالُواqālūThey saidبَلْbalNayوَجَدْنَاwajadnābut we foundءَابَاءَنَاābāanāour forefathersكَذَلِكَkadhālikalike thatيَفْعَلُونَyafʿalūnadoing
  75. 75قَالَqālaHe saidأَفَرَءَيْتُمْafara-aytumDo you seeمَاwhatكُنْتُمْkuntumyou have beenتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūnaworshipping
  76. 76أَنْتُمْantumYouوَءَابَاؤُكُمُwaābāukumuand your forefathersالْأَقْدَمُونَl-aqdamūnaand your forefathers
  77. 77فَإِنَّهُمْfa-innahumIndeed theyعَدُوٌّʿaduwwun(are) enemiesلِيto meإِلَّاillāexceptرَبَّrabba(the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
  78. 78الَّذِيalladhīThe One Whoخَلَقَنِيkhalaqanīcreated meفَهُوَfahuwaand Heيَهْدِينِyahdīniguides me
  79. 79وَالَّذِيwa-alladhīAnd the One Whoهُوَhuwa[He]يُطْعِمُنِيyuṭ'ʿimunīgives me foodوَيَسْقِينِwayasqīniand gives me drink
  80. 80وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenمَرِضْتُmariḍ'tuI am illفَهُوَfahuwathen Heيَشْفِينِyashfīnicures me
  81. 81وَالَّذِيwa-alladhīAnd the One Whoيُمِيتُنِيyumītunīwill cause me to dieثُمَّthummathenيُحْيِينِyuḥ'yīnihe will give me life
  82. 82وَالَّذِيwa-alladhīAnd the One WhoأَطْمَعُaṭmaʿuI hopeأَنْanthatيَغْفِرَyaghfiraHe will forgiveلِيfor meخَطِيءَتِيkhaṭīatīmy faultsيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayالدِّينِl-dīni(of) the Judgment
  83. 83رَبِّrabbiMy Lord!هَبْhabGrantلِي[for] meحُكْمًاḥuk'manwisdomوَأَلْحِقْنِيwa-alḥiq'nīand join meبِالصَّالِحِينَbil-ṣāliḥīnawith the righteous
  84. 84وَاجْعَلْwa-ij'ʿalAnd grantلِي[for] meلِسَانَlisānaa mentionصِدْقٍṣid'qin(of) honorفِيamongالْءَاخِرِينَl-ākhirīnathe later (generations)
  85. 85وَاجْعَلْنِيwa-ij'ʿalnīAnd make meمِنْminofوَرَثَةِwarathati(the) inheritorsجَنَّةِjannati(of) Garden(s)النَّعِيمِl-naʿīmi(of) Delight
  86. 86وَاغْفِرْwa-igh'firAnd forgiveلِأَبِيli-abīmy fatherإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heكَانَkānaisمِنَminaofالضَّالِّينَl-ḍālīnathose astray
  87. 87وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتُخْزِنِيtukh'zinīdisgrace meيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayيُبْعَثُونَyub'ʿathūnathey are resurrected
  88. 88يَوْمَyawma(The) Dayلَاnotيَنْفَعُyanfaʿuwill benefitمَالٌmālunwealthوَلَاwalāand notبَنُونَbanūnasons
  89. 89إِلَّاillāExceptمَنْman(he) whoأَتَىatācomesاللَّهَl-laha(to) Allahبِقَلْبٍbiqalbinwith a heartسَلِيمٍsalīminsound
  90. 90وَأُزْلِفَتِwa-uz'lifatiAnd (will be) brought nearالْجَنَّةُl-janatuthe Paradiseلِلْمُتَّقِينَlil'muttaqīnafor the righteous
  91. 91وَبُرِّزَتِwaburrizatiAnd (will be) made manifestالْجَحِيمُl-jaḥīmuthe Hellfireلِلْغَاوِينَlil'ghāwīnato the deviators
  92. 92وَقِيلَwaqīlaAnd it will be saidلَهُمْlahumto themأَيْنَaynaWhereمَا(is) thatكُنْتُمْkuntumyou usedتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūna(to) worship
  93. 93مِنْminBesides AllahدُونِdūniBesides Allahاللَّهِl-lahiBesides AllahهَلْhalCanيَنْصُرُونَكُمْyanṣurūnakumthey help youأَوْaworيَنْتَصِرُونَyantaṣirūnahelp themselves
  94. 94فَكُبْكِبُواfakub'kibūThen they will be overturnedفِيهَاfīhāinto itهُمْhumtheyوَالْغَاوُونَwal-ghāwūnaand the deviators
  95. 95وَجُنُودُwajunūduAnd (the) hostsإِبْلِيسَib'līsa(of) Iblisأَجْمَعُونَajmaʿūnaall together
  96. 96قَالُواqālūThey (will) sayوَهُمْwahumwhile theyفِيهَاfīhāin itيَخْتَصِمُونَyakhtaṣimūna(are) disputing
  97. 97تَاللَّهِtal-lahiBy Allahإِنْinindeedكُنَّاkunnāwe wereلَفِيlafīsurely inضَلَالٍḍalālinerrorمُبِينٍmubīninclear
  98. 98إِذْidhWhenنُسَوِّيكُمْnusawwīkumwe equated youبِرَبِّbirabbiwith (the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
  99. 99وَمَاwamāAnd notأَضَلَّنَاaḍallanāmisguided usإِلَّاillāexceptالْمُجْرِمُونَl-muj'rimūnathe criminals
  100. 100فَمَاfamāSo (now) notلَنَاlanāwe haveمِنْminanyشَافِعِينَshāfiʿīnaintercessors
  101. 101وَلَاwalāAnd notصَدِيقٍṣadīqina friendحَمِيمٍḥamīminclose
  102. 102فَلَوْfalawThen ifأَنَّannathatلَنَاlanāwe hadكَرَّةًkarratana returnفَنَكُونَfanakūnathen we could beمِنَminaofالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
  103. 103إِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَةًlaāyatansurely is a Signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
  104. 104وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely Heالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyالرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
  105. 105كَذَّبَتْkadhabatDeniedقَوْمُqawmu(the) peopleنُوحٍnūḥin(of) Nuhالْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
  106. 106إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālasaidلَهُمْlahumto themأَخُوهُمْakhūhumtheir brotherنُوحٌnūḥunNuhأَلَاalāWill notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear (Allah)
  107. 107إِنِّيinnīIndeed I amلَكُمْlakumto youرَسُولٌrasūluna Messengerأَمِينٌamīnuntrustworthy
  108. 108فَاتَّقُواfa-ittaqūSo fearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
  109. 109وَمَاwamāAnd notأَسْءَلُكُمْasalukumI ask (of) youعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itمِنْminanyأَجْرٍajrinpaymentإِنْinNotأَجْرِيَajriya(is) my paymentإِلَّاillābutعَلَىʿalāfromرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
  110. 110فَاتَّقُواfa-ittaqūSo fearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
  111. 111قَالُواqālūThey saidأَنُؤْمِنُanu'minuShould we believeلَكَlakain youوَاتَّبَعَكَwa-ittabaʿakawhile followed youالْأَرْذَلُونَl-ardhalūnathe lowest
  112. 112قَالَqālaHe saidوَمَاwamāAnd whatعِلْمِيʿil'mī(do) I knowبِمَاbimāof whatكَانُواkānūthey usedيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūna(to) do
  113. 113إِنْinVerilyحِسَابُهُمْḥisābuhumtheir accountإِلَّاillā(is) butعَلَىʿalāuponرَبِّيrabbīmy Lordلَوْlawifتَشْعُرُونَtashʿurūnayou perceive
  114. 114وَمَاwamāAnd notأَنَاanāI amبِطَارِدِbiṭāridithe one to drive awayالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
  115. 115إِنْinNotأَنَاanāI amإِلَّاillābutنَذِيرٌnadhīruna warnerمُبِينٌmubīnunclear
  116. 116قَالُواqālūThey saidلَئِنْla-inIfلَمْlamnotتَنْتَهِtantahiyou desistيَانُوحُyānūḥuO Nuh!لَتَكُونَنَّlatakūnannaSurely you will beمِنَminaofالْمَرْجُومِينَl-marjūmīnathose who are stoned
  117. 117قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!إِنَّinnaIndeedقَوْمِيqawmīmy peopleكَذَّبُونِkadhabūnihave denied me
  118. 118فَافْتَحْfa-if'taḥSo judgeبَيْنِيbaynībetween meوَبَيْنَهُمْwabaynahumand between themفَتْحًاfatḥan(with decisive) judgmentوَنَجِّنِيwanajjinīand save meوَمَنْwamanand whoمَعِيَmaʿiya(are) with meمِنَminaofالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
  119. 119فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُfa-anjaynāhuSo We saved himوَمَنْwamanand whoمَعَهُmaʿahu(were) with himفِيinالْفُلْكِl-ful'kithe shipالْمَشْحُونِl-mashḥūniladen
  120. 120ثُمَّthummaThenأَغْرَقْنَاaghraqnāWe drownedبَعْدُbaʿduthereafterالْبَاقِينَl-bāqīnathe remaining ones
  121. 121إِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَةًlaāyatansurely (is) a signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
  122. 122وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely Heالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyالرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
  123. 123كَذَّبَتْkadhabatDeniedعَادٌʿādun(the people) of Aadالْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
  124. 124إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālasaidلَهُمْlahumto themأَخُوهُمْakhūhumtheir brotherهُودٌhūdunHudأَلَاalāWill notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear (Allah)
  125. 125إِنِّيinnīIndeed I amلَكُمْlakumto youرَسُولٌrasūluna Messengerأَمِينٌamīnuntrustworthy
  126. 126فَاتَّقُواfa-ittaqūSo fearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
  127. 127وَمَاwamāAnd notأَسْءَلُكُمْasalukumI ask youعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itمِنْminanyأَجْرٍajrinpaymentإِنْinNotأَجْرِيَajriya(is) my paymentإِلَّاillāexceptعَلَىʿalāfromرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
  128. 128أَتَبْنُونَatabnūnaDo you constructبِكُلِّbikullion everyرِيعٍrīʿinelevationءَايَةًāyatana signتَعْبَثُونَtaʿbathūnaamusing yourselves
  129. 129وَتَتَّخِذُونَwatattakhidhūnaAnd take for yourselvesمَصَانِعَmaṣāniʿastrongholdsلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumthat you mayتَخْلُدُونَtakhludūnalive forever
  130. 130وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenبَطَشْتُمْbaṭashtumyou seizeبَطَشْتُمْbaṭashtumyou seizeجَبَّارِينَjabbārīna(as) tyrants
  131. 131فَاتَّقُواfa-ittaqūSo fearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
  132. 132وَاتَّقُواwa-ittaqūAnd fearالَّذِيalladhīOne Whoأَمَدَّكُمْamaddakumhas aided youبِمَاbimāwith whatتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnayou know
  133. 133أَمَدَّكُمْamaddakumHe has aided youبِأَنْعَامٍbi-anʿāminwith cattleوَبَنِينَwabanīnaand children
  134. 134وَجَنَّاتٍwajannātinAnd gardensوَعُيُونٍwaʿuyūninand springs
  135. 135إِنِّيinnīIndeed Iأَخَافُakhāfu[I] fearعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumfor youعَذَابَʿadhāba(the) punishmentيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a DayعَظِيمٍʿaẓīminGreat
  136. 136قَالُواqālūThey saidسَوَاءٌsawāon(It is) sameعَلَيْنَاʿalaynāto usأَوَعَظْتَawaʿaẓtawhether you adviseأَمْamorلَمْlamnotتَكُنْtakunyou areمِنَminaofالْوَاعِظِينَl-wāʿiẓīnathe advisors
  137. 137إِنْinNotهَذَاhādhā(is) thisإِلَّاillābutخُلُقُkhuluqu(the) customالْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the former (people)
  138. 138وَمَاwamāAnd notنَحْنُnaḥnuweبِمُعَذَّبِينَbimuʿadhabīna(are) the ones to be punished
  139. 139فَكَذَّبُوهُfakadhabūhuSo they denied himفَأَهْلَكْنَاهُمْfa-ahlaknāhumthen We destroyed themإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَةًlaāyatansurely is a signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
  140. 140وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely Heالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyالرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
  141. 141كَذَّبَتْkadhabatDeniedثَمُودُthamūduThamudالْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
  142. 142إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālasaidلَهُمْlahumto themأَخُوهُمْakhūhumtheir brotherصَالِحٌṣāliḥunSalihأَلَاalāWill notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear (Allah)
  143. 143إِنِّيinnīIndeed I amلَكُمْlakumto youرَسُولٌrasūluna Messengerأَمِينٌamīnuntrustworthy
  144. 144فَاتَّقُواfa-ittaqūSo fearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
  145. 145وَمَاwamāAnd notأَسْءَلُكُمْasalukumI ask youعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itمِنْminanyأَجْرٍajrinpaymentإِنْinNotأَجْرِيَajriya(is) my paymentإِلَّاillāexceptعَلَىʿalāfromرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
  146. 146أَتُتْرَكُونَatut'rakūnaWill you be leftفِيinمَاwhatهَاهُنَاhāhunā(is) hereءَامِنِينَāminīnasecure
  147. 147فِيInجَنَّاتٍjannātingardensوَعُيُونٍwaʿuyūninand springs
  148. 148وَزُرُوعٍwazurūʿinAnd cornfieldsوَنَخْلٍwanakhlinand date-palmsطَلْعُهَاṭalʿuhāits spadixهَضِيمٌhaḍīmunsoft
  149. 149وَتَنْحِتُونَwatanḥitūnaAnd you carveمِنَminaofالْجِبَالِl-jibālithe mountainsبُيُوتًاbuyūtanhousesفَارِهِينَfārihīnaskillfully
  150. 150فَاتَّقُواfa-ittaqūSo fearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
  151. 151وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتُطِيعُواtuṭīʿūobeyأَمْرَamra(the) commandالْمُسْرِفِينَl-mus'rifīna(of) the transgressors
  152. 152الَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoيُفْسِدُونَyuf'sidūnaspread corruptionفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَلَاwalāand (do) notيُصْلِحُونَyuṣ'liḥūnareform
  153. 153قَالُواqālūThey saidإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyأَنْتَantayouمِنَmina(are) ofالْمُسَحَّرِينَl-musaḥarīnathose bewitched
  154. 154مَاNotأَنْتَantayouإِلَّاillā(are) exceptبَشَرٌbasharuna manمِثْلُنَاmith'lunālike usفَأْتِfatiso bringبِءَايَةٍbiāyatina signإِنْinifكُنْتَkuntayouمِنَmina(are) ofالصَّادِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
  155. 155قَالَqālaHe saidهَذِهِhādhihiThisنَاقَةٌnāqatun(is) a she-camelلَهَاlahāFor herشِرْبٌshir'bun(is a share of) drinkوَلَكُمْwalakumand for youشِرْبُshir'bu(is a share of) drinkيَوْمٍyawmin(on) a dayمَعْلُومٍmaʿlūminknown
  156. 156وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَمَسُّوهَاtamassūhātouch herبِسُوءٍbisūinwith harmفَيَأْخُذَكُمْfayakhudhakumlest seize youعَذَابُʿadhābu(the) punishmentيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a DayعَظِيمٍʿaẓīminGreat
  157. 157فَعَقَرُوهَاfaʿaqarūhāBut they hamstrung herفَأَصْبَحُواfa-aṣbaḥūthen they becameنَادِمِينَnādimīnaregretful
  158. 158فَأَخَذَهُمُfa-akhadhahumuSo seized themالْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentإِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَةًlaāyatansurely is a signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
  159. 159وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely Heالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyالرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
  160. 160كَذَّبَتْkadhabatDeniedقَوْمُqawmu(the) peopleلُوطٍlūṭin(of) Lutالْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
  161. 161إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālasaidلَهُمْlahumto themأَخُوهُمْakhūhumtheir brotherلُوطٌlūṭunLutأَلَاalāWill notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear (Allah)
  162. 162إِنِّيinnīIndeed I amلَكُمْlakumto youرَسُولٌrasūluna Messengerأَمِينٌamīnuntrustworthy
  163. 163فَاتَّقُواfa-ittaqūSo fearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
  164. 164وَمَاwamāAnd notأَسْءَلُكُمْasalukumI ask youعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itمِنْminanyأَجْرٍajrinpaymentإِنْinNotأَجْرِيَajriya(is) my paymentإِلَّاillāexceptعَلَىʿalāfromرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
  165. 165أَتَأْتُونَatatūnaDo you approachالذُّكْرَانَl-dhuk'rānathe malesمِنَminaamongالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīnathe worlds
  166. 166وَتَذَرُونَwatadharūnaAnd you leaveمَاwhatخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedلَكُمْlakumfor youرَبُّكُمْrabbukumyour Lordمِنْminofأَزْوَاجِكُمْazwājikumyour matesبَلْbalNayأَنْتُمْantumyouقَوْمٌqawmun(are) a peopleعَادُونَʿādūnatransgressing
  167. 167قَالُواqālūThey saidلَئِنْla-inIfلَمْlamnotتَنْتَهِtantahiyou desistيَالُوطُyālūṭuO Lut!لَتَكُونَنَّlatakūnannaSurely you will beمِنَminaofالْمُخْرَجِينَl-mukh'rajīnathe ones driven out
  168. 168قَالَqālaHe saidإِنِّيinnīIndeed I amلِعَمَلِكُمْliʿamalikum(of) your deedمِنَminaofالْقَالِينَl-qālīnathose who detest
  169. 169رَبِّrabbiMy Lord!نَجِّنِيnajjinīSave meوَأَهْلِيwa-ahlīand my familyمِمَّاmimmāfrom whatيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnathey do
  170. 170فَنَجَّيْنَاهُfanajjaynāhuSo We saved himوَأَهْلَهُwa-ahlahuand his familyأَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīnaall
  171. 171إِلَّاillāExceptعَجُوزًاʿajūzanan old womanفِي(was) amongالْغَابِرِينَl-ghābirīnathose who remained behind
  172. 172ثُمَّthummaThenدَمَّرْنَاdammarnāWe destroyedالْءَاخَرِينَl-ākharīnathe others
  173. 173وَأَمْطَرْنَاwa-amṭarnāAnd We rainedعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimupon themمَطَرًاmaṭarana rainفَسَاءَfasāaand evil wasمَطَرُmaṭaru(was) the rainالْمُنْذَرِينَl-mundharīna(on) those who were warned
  174. 174إِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَةًlaāyatansurely is a signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
  175. 175وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely Heالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyالرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
  176. 176كَذَّبَkadhabaDeniedأَصْحَابُaṣḥābu(the) companionsلْءَيْكَةِal'aykati(of the) Woodالْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnathe Messengers
  177. 177إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālasaidلَهُمْlahumto themشُعَيْبٌshuʿaybunShuaibأَلَاalāWill notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear (Allah)
  178. 178إِنِّيinnīIndeed I amلَكُمْlakumto youرَسُولٌrasūluna Messengerأَمِينٌamīnuntrustworthy
  179. 179فَاتَّقُواfa-ittaqūSo fearاللَّهَl-lahaAllahوَأَطِيعُونِwa-aṭīʿūniand obey me
  180. 180وَمَاwamāAnd notأَسْءَلُكُمْasalukumI ask (of) youعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itمِنْminanyأَجْرٍajrinpaymentإِنْinNotأَجْرِيَajriya(is) my paymentإِلَّاillāexceptعَلَىʿalāfromرَبِّrabbi(the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
  181. 181أَوْفُواawfūGive fullالْكَيْلَl-kaylameasureوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَكُونُواtakūnūbeمِنَminaofالْمُخْسِرِينَl-mukh'sirīnathose who cause loss
  182. 182وَزِنُواwazinūAnd weighبِالْقِسْطَاسِbil-qis'ṭāsiwith a balanceالْمُسْتَقِيمِl-mus'taqīmi[the] even
  183. 183وَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتَبْخَسُواtabkhasūdepriveالنَّاسَl-nāsapeopleأَشْيَاءَهُمْashyāahum(of) their thingsوَلَاwalāand (do) notتَعْثَوْاtaʿthawcommit evilفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthمُفْسِدِينَmuf'sidīnaspreading corruption
  184. 184وَاتَّقُواwa-ittaqūAnd fearالَّذِيalladhīthe One Whoخَلَقَكُمْkhalaqakumcreated youوَالْجِبِلَّةَwal-jibilataand the generationsالْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīnathe former
  185. 185قَالُواqālūThey saidإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyأَنْتَantayouمِنَmina(are) ofالْمُسَحَّرِينَl-musaḥarīnathose bewitched
  186. 186وَمَاwamāAnd notأَنْتَantayouإِلَّاillā(are) exceptبَشَرٌbasharuna manمِثْلُنَاmith'lunālike usوَإِنْwa-inand indeedنَظُنُّكَnaẓunnukawe think youلَمِنَlaminasurely (are) ofالْكَاذِبِينَl-kādhibīnathe liars
  187. 187فَأَسْقِطْfa-asqiṭThen cause to fallعَلَيْنَاʿalaynāupon usكِسَفًاkisafanfragmentsمِنَminaofالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe skyإِنْinifكُنْتَkuntayou areمِنَminaofالصَّادِقِينَl-ṣādiqīnathe truthful
  188. 188قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّيrabbīMy Lordأَعْلَمُaʿlamuknows bestبِمَاbimāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou do
  189. 189فَكَذَّبُوهُfakadhabūhuBut they denied himفَأَخَذَهُمْfa-akhadhahumso seized themعَذَابُʿadhābu(the) punishmentيَوْمِyawmi(of the) dayالظُّلَّةِl-ẓulati(of) the shadowإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed itكَانَkānawasعَذَابَʿadhāba(the) punishmentيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a DayعَظِيمٍʿaẓīminGreat
  190. 190إِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَةًlaāyatansurely is a signوَمَاwamābut notكَانَkānaareأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīnabelievers
  191. 191وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedرَبَّكَrabbakayour Lordلَهُوَlahuwasurely Heالْعَزِيزُl-ʿazīzu(is) the All-Mightyالرَّحِيمُl-raḥīmuthe Most Merciful
  192. 192وَإِنَّهُwa-innahuAnd indeed itلَتَنْزِيلُlatanzīlusurely is a Revelationرَبِّrabbi(of the) Lordالْعَالَمِينَl-ʿālamīna(of) the worlds
  193. 193نَزَلَnazalaHas brought it downبِهِbihiHas brought it downالرُّوحُl-rūḥuthe Spiritالْأَمِينُl-amīnu[the] Trustworthy
  194. 194عَلَىʿalāUponقَلْبِكَqalbikayour heartلِتَكُونَlitakūnathat you may beمِنَminaofالْمُنْذِرِينَl-mundhirīnathe warners

  196. 196وَإِنَّهُwa-innahuAnd indeed itلَفِيlafīsurely (is) inزُبُرِzuburi(the) Scripturesالْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the former (people)
  197. 197أَوَلَمْawalamIs it notيَكُنْyakunIs it notلَهُمْlahumto themءَايَةًāyatana signأَنْanthatيَعْلَمَهُyaʿlamahuknow itعُلَمَؤُاʿulamāu(the) scholarsبَنِيbanī(of the) Childrenإِسْرَاءِيلَis'rāīla(of) Israel
  198. 198وَلَوْwalawAnd ifنَزَّلْنَاهُnazzalnāhuWe (had) revealed itعَلَىʿalātoبَعْضِbaʿḍianyالْأَعْجَمِينَl-aʿjamīna(of) the non-Arabs
  199. 199فَقَرَأَهُfaqara-ahuAnd he (had) recited itعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themمَاnotكَانُواkānūthey wouldبِهِbihiin itمُؤْمِنِينَmu'minīna(be) believers
  200. 200كَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusسَلَكْنَاهُsalaknāhuWe have inserted itفِيintoقُلُوبِqulūbi(the) heartsالْمُجْرِمِينَl-muj'rimīna(of) the criminals
  201. 201لَاNotيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnathey will believeبِهِbihiin itحَتَّىḥattāuntilيَرَوُاyarawūthey seeالْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentالْأَلِيمَl-alīma[the] painful
  202. 202فَيَأْتِيَهُمْfayatiyahumAnd it will come to themبَغْتَةًbaghtatansuddenlyوَهُمْwahumwhile theyلَا(do) notيَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnaperceive
  203. 203فَيَقُولُواfayaqūlūThen they will sayهَلْhalAreنَحْنُnaḥnuweمُنْظَرُونَmunẓarūna(to be) reprieved
  204. 204أَفَبِعَذَابِنَاafabiʿadhābināSo is it for Our punishmentيَسْتَعْجِلُونَyastaʿjilūnathey wish to hasten
  205. 205أَفَرَءَيْتَafara-aytaThen have you seenإِنْinifمَتَّعْنَاهُمْmattaʿnāhumWe let them enjoyسِنِينَsinīna(for) years
  206. 206ثُمَّthummaThenجَاءَهُمْjāahumcomes to themمَاwhatكَانُواkānūthey wereيُوعَدُونَyūʿadūnapromised
  207. 207مَاNotأَغْنَىaghnā(will) availعَنْهُمْʿanhumthemمَاwhatكَانُواkānūenjoyment they were givenيُمَتَّعُونَyumattaʿūnaenjoyment they were given
  208. 208وَمَاwamāAnd notأَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe destroyedمِنْminanyقَرْيَةٍqaryatintownإِلَّاillābutلَهَاlahāit hadمُنْذِرُونَmundhirūnawarners
  209. 209ذِكْرَىdhik'rā(To) remindوَمَاwamāand notكُنَّاkunnāWe areظَالِمِينَẓālimīnaunjust
  210. 210وَمَاwamāAnd notتَنَزَّلَتْtanazzalathave brought it downبِهِbihihave brought it downالشَّيَاطِينُl-shayāṭīnuthe devils
  211. 211وَمَاwamāAnd notيَنْبَغِيyanbaghī(it) suitsلَهُمْlahum[for] themوَمَاwamāand notيَسْتَطِيعُونَyastaṭīʿūnathey are able
  212. 212إِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed theyعَنِʿanifromالسَّمْعِl-samʿithe hearingلَمَعْزُولُونَlamaʿzūlūna(are) surely banished
  213. 213فَلَاfalāSo (do) notتَدْعُtadʿuinvokeمَعَmaʿawithاللَّهِl-lahiAllahإِلَهًاilāhangodءَاخَرَākharaanotherفَتَكُونَfatakūnalest you beمِنَminaofالْمُعَذَّبِينَl-muʿadhabīnathose punished
  214. 214وَأَنْذِرْwa-andhirAnd warnعَشِيرَتَكَʿashīratakayour kindredالْأَقْرَبِينَl-aqrabīna[the] closest
  215. 215وَاخْفِضْwa-ikh'fiḍAnd lowerجَنَاحَكَjanāḥakayour wingلِمَنِlimanito (those) whoاتَّبَعَكَittabaʿakafollow youمِنَminaofالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
  216. 216فَإِنْfa-inThen ifعَصَوْكَʿaṣawkathey disobey youفَقُلْfaqulthen sayإِنِّيinnīIndeed I amبَرِيءٌbarīoninnocentمِمَّاmimmāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou do
  217. 217وَتَوَكَّلْwatawakkalAnd put (your) trustعَلَىʿalāinالْعَزِيزِl-ʿazīzithe All-Mightyالرَّحِيمِl-raḥīmithe Most Merciful
  218. 218الَّذِيalladhīThe One Whoيَرَاكَyarākasees youحِينَḥīnawhenتَقُومُtaqūmuyou stand up
  219. 219وَتَقَلُّبَكَwataqal-lubakaAnd your movementsفِيamongالسَّاجِدِينَl-sājidīnathose who prostrate
  220. 220إِنَّهُinnahuIndeed HeهُوَhuwaHeالسَّمِيعُl-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearerالْعَلِيمُl-ʿalīmuthe All-Knower
  221. 221هَلْhalShallأُنَبِّئُكُمْunabbi-ukumI inform youعَلَىʿalāuponمَنْmanwhomتَنَزَّلُtanazzaludescendالشَّيَاطِينُl-shayāṭīnuthe devils
  222. 222تَنَزَّلُtanazzaluThey descendعَلَىʿalāuponكُلِّkullieveryأَفَّاكٍaffākinliarأَثِيمٍathīminsinful
  223. 223يُلْقُونَyul'qūnaThey pass onالسَّمْعَl-samʿa(what is) heardوَأَكْثَرُهُمْwa-aktharuhumand most of themكَاذِبُونَkādhibūna(are) liars
  224. 224وَالشُّعَرَاءُwal-shuʿarāuAnd the poetsيَتَّبِعُهُمُyattabiʿuhumufollow themالْغَاوُونَl-ghāwūnathe deviators
  225. 225أَلَمْalamDo notتَرَtarayou seeأَنَّهُمْannahumthat theyفِيinكُلِّkullieveryوَادٍwādinvalleyيَهِيمُونَyahīmūna[they] roam
  226. 226وَأَنَّهُمْwa-annahumAnd that theyيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasayمَاwhatلَاnotيَفْعَلُونَyafʿalūnathey do
  227. 227إِلَّاillāExceptالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelieveوَعَمِلُواwaʿamilūand doالصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥātirighteous deedsوَذَكَرُواwadhakarūand rememberاللَّهَl-lahaAllahكَثِيرًاkathīranmuchوَانْتَصَرُواwa-intaṣarūand defend themselvesمِنْminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterمَاafterظُلِمُواẓulimūthey were wrongedوَسَيَعْلَمُwasayaʿlamuAnd will come to knowالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoظَلَمُواẓalamūhave wrongedأَيَّayya(to) whatمُنْقَلَبٍmunqalabinreturnيَنْقَلِبُونَyanqalibūnathey will return
