بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 25 — Al-Furqaan

  1. 1تَبَارَكَtabārakaBlessed is HeالَّذِيalladhīWhoنَزَّلَnazzalasent downالْفُرْقَانَl-fur'qānathe CriterionعَلَىʿalāuponعَبْدِهِʿabdihiHis slaveلِيَكُونَliyakūnathat he may beلِلْعَالَمِينَlil'ʿālamīnato the worldsنَذِيرًاnadhīrana warner
  2. 2الَّذِيalladhīThe One Whoلَهُlahuto Him (belongs)مُلْكُmul'ku(the) dominionالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَلَمْwalamand notيَتَّخِذْyattakhidhHe has takenوَلَدًاwaladana sonوَلَمْwalamand notيَكُنْyakunHe hasلَهُlahufor Himشَرِيكٌsharīkuna partnerفِيinالْمُلْكِl-mul'kithe dominionوَخَلَقَwakhalaqaand He (has) createdكُلَّkullaeveryشَيْءٍshayinthingفَقَدَّرَهُfaqaddarahuand determined itتَقْدِيرًاtaqdīran(with) determination
  3. 3وَاتَّخَذُواwa-ittakhadhūYet they have takenمِنْminbesides Himدُونِهِdūnihibesides Himءَالِهَةًālihatangodsلَاnotيَخْلُقُونَyakhluqūnathey createشَيْئًاshayananythingوَهُمْwahumwhile theyيُخْلَقُونَyukh'laqūnaare createdوَلَاwalāand notيَمْلِكُونَyamlikūnathey possessلِأَنْفُسِهِمْli-anfusihimfor themselvesضَرًّاḍarranany harmوَلَاwalāand notنَفْعًاnafʿanany benefitوَلَاwalāand notيَمْلِكُونَyamlikūnathey controlمَوْتًاmawtandeathوَلَاwalāand notحَيَوةًḥayatanlifeوَلَاwalāand notنُشُورًاnushūranresurrection
  4. 4وَقَالَwaqālaAnd sayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveإِنْinNotهَذَاhādhāthisإِلَّاillā(is) butإِفْكٌif'kuna lieافْتَرَاهُif'tarāhuhe invented itوَأَعَانَهُwa-aʿānahuand helped himعَلَيْهِʿalayhiat itقَوْمٌqawmunpeopleءَاخَرُونَākharūnaotherفَقَدْfaqadBut verilyجَاءُوjāūthey (have) producedظُلْمًاẓul'manan injusticeوَزُورًاwazūranand a lie
  5. 5وَقَالُواwaqālūAnd they sayأَسَاطِيرُasāṭīruTalesالْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the former peopleاكْتَتَبَهَاik'tatabahāwhich he has had writtenفَهِيَfahiyaand theyتُمْلَىtum'lāare dictatedعَلَيْهِʿalayhito himبُكْرَةًbuk'ratanmorningوَأَصِيلًاwa-aṣīlanand evening
  6. 6قُلْqulSayأَنْزَلَهُanzalahuHas sent it downالَّذِيalladhīthe One Whoيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsالسِّرَّl-sirathe secretفِيinالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed HeكَانَkānaisغَفُورًاghafūranOft-ForgivingرَحِيمًاraḥīmanMost Merciful
  7. 7وَقَالُواwaqālūAnd they sayمَالِmāliWhy doesهَذَاhādhāthisالرَّسُولِl-rasūliMessengerيَأْكُلُyakulueatالطَّعَامَl-ṭaʿāma[the] foodوَيَمْشِيwayamshīand walkفِيinالْأَسْوَاقِl-aswāqithe marketsلَوْلَاlawlāWhy notأُنْزِلَunzilais sent downإِلَيْهِilayhito himمَلَكٌmalakunan Angelفَيَكُونَfayakūnathen he beمَعَهُmaʿahuwith himنَذِيرًاnadhīrana warner
  8. 8أَوْawOrيُلْقَىyul'qāis deliveredإِلَيْهِilayhito himكَنْزٌkanzuna treasureأَوْaworتَكُونُtakūnuisلَهُlahufor himجَنَّةٌjannatuna gardenيَأْكُلُyakuluhe may eatمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom itوَقَالَwaqālaAnd sayالظَّالِمُونَl-ẓālimūnathe wrongdoersإِنْinNotتَتَّبِعُونَtattabiʿūnayou followإِلَّاillābutرَجُلًاrajulana manمَسْحُورًاmasḥūranbewitched
  9. 9انْظُرْunẓurSeeكَيْفَkayfahowضَرَبُواḍarabūthey set forthلَكَlakafor youالْأَمْثَالَl-amthālathe similitudesفَضَلُّواfaḍallūbut they have gone astrayفَلَاfalāso notيَسْتَطِيعُونَyastaṭīʿūnathey are able (to find)سَبِيلًاsabīlana way
  10. 10تَبَارَكَtabārakaBlessed is HeالَّذِيalladhīWhoإِنْinifشَاءَshāaHe willedجَعَلَjaʿala(could have) madeلَكَlakafor youخَيْرًاkhayranbetterمِنْminthanذَلِكَdhālikathatجَنَّاتٍjannātingardensتَجْرِيtajrīflowمِنْminfromتَحْتِهَاtaḥtihāunderneath itالْأَنْهَارُl-anhāruthe riversوَيَجْعَلْwayajʿaland He (could) makeلَكَlakafor youقُصُورًاquṣūranpalaces
  11. 11بَلْbalNayكَذَّبُواkadhabūthey denyبِالسَّاعَةِbil-sāʿatithe Hourوَأَعْتَدْنَاwa-aʿtadnāand We have preparedلِمَنْlimanfor (those) whoكَذَّبَkadhabadenyبِالسَّاعَةِbil-sāʿatithe Hourسَعِيرًاsaʿīrana Blazing Fire
  12. 12إِذَاidhāWhenرَأَتْهُمْra-athumit sees themمِنْminfromمَكَانٍmakānina placeبَعِيدٍbaʿīdinfarسَمِعُواsamiʿūthey will hearلَهَاlahāitsتَغَيُّظًاtaghayyuẓanragingوَزَفِيرًاwazafīranand roaring
  13. 13وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenأُلْقُواul'qūthey are thrownمِنْهَاmin'hāthereofمَكَانًاmakānan(in) a placeضَيِّقًاḍayyiqannarrowمُقَرَّنِينَmuqarranīnabound in chainsدَعَوْاdaʿawthey will callهُنَالِكَhunālikathereثُبُورًاthubūran(for) destruction
  14. 14لَا(Do) notتَدْعُواtadʿūcallالْيَوْمَl-yawmathis dayثُبُورًاthubūran(for) destructionوَاحِدًاwāḥidanoneوَادْعُواwa-id'ʿūbut callثُبُورًاthubūran(for) destructionsكَثِيرًاkathīranmany
  15. 15قُلْqulSayأَذَلِكَadhālikaIs thatخَيْرٌkhayrunbetterأَمْamorجَنَّةُjannatuGardenالْخُلْدِl-khul'di(of) Eternityالَّتِيallatīwhichوُعِدَwuʿidais promisedالْمُتَّقُونَl-mutaqūna(to) the righteousكَانَتْkānatIt will beلَهُمْlahumfor themجَزَاءًjazāana rewardوَمَصِيرًاwamaṣīranand destination
  16. 16لَهُمْlahumFor themفِيهَاfīhāthereinمَا(is) whateverيَشَاءُونَyashāūnathey wishخَالِدِينَkhālidīnathey will abide foreverكَانَkānaIt isعَلَىʿalāonرَبِّكَrabbikayour Lordوَعْدًاwaʿdana promiseمَسْءُولًاmasūlanrequested
  17. 17وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) DayيَحْشُرُهُمْyaḥshuruhumHe will gather themوَمَاwamāand whatيَعْبُدُونَyaʿbudūnathey worshipمِنْminbesides Allahدُونِdūnibesides Allahاللَّهِl-lahibesides Allahفَيَقُولُfayaqūluand He will sayءَأَنْتُمْa-antumDid youأَضْلَلْتُمْaḍlaltum[you] misleadعِبَادِيʿibādīMy slavesهَؤُلَاءِhāulāitheseأَمْamorهُمْhumtheyضَلُّواḍallūwent astrayالسَّبِيلَl-sabīla(from) the way
  18. 18قَالُواqālūThey sayسُبْحَانَكَsub'ḥānakaGlory be to YouمَاNotكَانَkānait was properيَنْبَغِيyanbaghīit was properلَنَاlanāfor usأَنْanthatنَتَّخِذَnattakhidhawe takeمِنْminbesides Youدُونِكَdūnikabesides YouمِنْminanyأَوْلِيَاءَawliyāaprotectorsوَلَكِنْwalākinButمَتَّعْتَهُمْmattaʿtahumYou gave them comfortsوَءَابَاءَهُمْwaābāahumand their forefathersحَتَّىḥattāuntilنَسُواnasūthey forgotالذِّكْرَl-dhik'rathe Messageوَكَانُواwakānūand becameقَوْمًاqawmana peopleبُورًاbūranruined
  19. 19فَقَدْfaqadSo verilyكَذَّبُوكُمْkadhabūkumthey deny youبِمَاbimāin whatتَقُولُونَtaqūlūnayou sayفَمَاfamāso notتَسْتَطِيعُونَtastaṭīʿūnayou are ableصَرْفًاṣarfan(to) avertوَلَاwalāand notنَصْرًاnaṣran(to) helpوَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverيَظْلِمْyaẓlimdoes wrongمِنْكُمْminkumamong youنُذِقْهُnudhiq'huWe will make him tasteعَذَابًاʿadhābana punishmentكَبِيرًاkabīrangreat
  20. 20وَمَاwamāAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentقَبْلَكَqablakabefore youمِنَminaanyالْمُرْسَلِينَl-mur'salīnaMessengersإِلَّاillābutإِنَّهُمْinnahumindeed theyلَيَأْكُلُونَlayakulūna[surely] ateالطَّعَامَl-ṭaʿāmafoodوَيَمْشُونَwayamshūnaand walkedفِيinالْأَسْوَاقِl-aswāqithe marketsوَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāAnd We have madeبَعْضَكُمْbaʿḍakumsome of youلِبَعْضٍlibaʿḍinfor othersفِتْنَةًfit'natana trialأَتَصْبِرُونَataṣbirūnawill you have patienceوَكَانَwakānaAnd isرَبُّكَrabbukayour LordبَصِيرًاbaṣīranAll-Seer
  21. 21وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoلَا(do) notيَرْجُونَyarjūnaexpectلِقَاءَنَاliqāanā(the) meeting with UsلَوْلَاlawlāWhy notأُنْزِلَunzilaare sent downعَلَيْنَاʿalaynāto usالْمَلَائِكَةُl-malāikatuthe Angelsأَوْaworنَرَىnarāwe seeرَبَّنَاrabbanāour LordلَقَدِlaqadiIndeedاسْتَكْبَرُواis'takbarūthey have become arrogantفِيwithinأَنْفُسِهِمْanfusihimthemselvesوَعَتَوْاwaʿatawand (become) insolentعُتُوًّاʿutuwwan(with) insolenceكَبِيرًاkabīrangreat
  22. 22يَوْمَyawma(The) Dayيَرَوْنَyarawnathey seeالْمَلَائِكَةَl-malāikatathe Angelsلَاnoبُشْرَىbush'rāglad tidingsيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhin(will be) that Dayلِلْمُجْرِمِينَlil'muj'rimīnafor the criminalsوَيَقُولُونَwayaqūlūnaand they will sayحِجْرًاḥij'ranA partitionمَحْجُورًاmaḥjūranforbidden
  23. 23وَقَدِمْنَاwaqadim'nāAnd We will proceedإِلَىilātoمَاwhateverعَمِلُواʿamilūthey didمِنْminofعَمَلٍʿamalin(the) deed(s)فَجَعَلْنَاهُfajaʿalnāhuand We will make themهَبَاءًhabāan(as) dustمَنْثُورًاmanthūrandispersed
  24. 24أَصْحَابُaṣḥābu(The) companionsالْجَنَّةِl-janati(of) Paradiseيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinthat Dayخَيْرٌkhayrun(will be in) a betterمُسْتَقَرًّاmus'taqarranabodeوَأَحْسَنُwa-aḥsanuand a betterمَقِيلًاmaqīlanresting-place
  25. 25وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) Dayتَشَقَّقُtashaqqaquwill split openالسَّمَاءُl-samāuthe heavensبِالْغَمَامِbil-ghamāmiwith the cloudsوَنُزِّلَwanuzzilaand (will be) sent downالْمَلَائِكَةُl-malāikatuthe Angelsتَنْزِيلًاtanzīlandescending
  26. 26الْمُلْكُal-mul'kuThe Sovereigntyيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinthat Dayالْحَقُّl-ḥaqu(will be) trulyلِلرَّحْمَنِlilrraḥmānifor the Most GraciousوَكَانَwakānaAnd (it will) beيَوْمًاyawmana Dayعَلَىʿalāforالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelieversعَسِيرًاʿasīrandifficult
  27. 27وَيَوْمَwayawmaAnd (the) Dayيَعَضُّyaʿaḍḍuwill biteالظَّالِمُl-ẓālimuthe wrongdoerعَلَىʿalā[on]يَدَيْهِyadayhihis handsيَقُولُyaqūluhe will sayيَالَيْتَنِيyālaytanīO I wish!اتَّخَذْتُittakhadhtuI had takenمَعَmaʿawithالرَّسُولِl-rasūlithe Messengerسَبِيلًاsabīlana way
  28. 28يَاوَيْلَتَىyāwaylatāO woe to me!لَيْتَنِيlaytanīI wishلَمْlamnotأَتَّخِذْattakhidhI had takenفُلَانًاfulānanthat oneخَلِيلًاkhalīlan(as) a friend
  29. 29لَقَدْlaqadVerilyأَضَلَّنِيaḍallanīhe led me astrayعَنِʿanifromالذِّكْرِl-dhik'rithe Reminderبَعْدَbaʿdaafterإِذْidh[when]جَاءَنِيjāanīit (had) come to meوَكَانَwakānaAnd isالشَّيْطَانُl-shayṭānuthe Shaitaanلِلْإِنْسَانِlil'insānito the manخَذُولًاkhadhūlana deserter
  30. 30وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidالرَّسُولُl-rasūluthe MessengerيَارَبِّyārabbiO my Lord!إِنَّinnaIndeedقَوْمِيqawmīmy peopleاتَّخَذُواittakhadhūtookهَذَاhādhāthisالْقُرْءَانَl-qur'ānathe Quranمَهْجُورًاmahjūran(as) a forsaken thing
  31. 31وَكَذَلِكَwakadhālikaAnd thusجَعَلْنَاjaʿalnāWe have madeلِكُلِّlikullifor everyنَبِيٍّnabiyyinProphetعَدُوًّاʿaduwwanan enemyمِنَminaamongالْمُجْرِمِينَl-muj'rimīnathe criminalsوَكَفَىwakafāBut sufficient isبِرَبِّكَbirabbikayour Lordهَادِيًاhādiyan(as) a Guideوَنَصِيرًاwanaṣīranand a Helper
  32. 32وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveلَوْلَاlawlāWhy notنُزِّلَnuzzilawas revealedعَلَيْهِʿalayhito himالْقُرْءَانُl-qur'ānuthe Quranجُمْلَةًjum'latanall at onceوَاحِدَةًwāḥidatanall at onceكَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusلِنُثَبِّتَlinuthabbitathat We may strengthenبِهِbihitherebyفُؤَادَكَfuādakayour heartوَرَتَّلْنَاهُwarattalnāhuand We have recited itتَرْتِيلًاtartīlan(with distinct) recitation
  33. 33وَلَاwalāAnd notيَأْتُونَكَyatūnakathey come to youبِمَثَلٍbimathalinwith an exampleإِلَّاillābutجِئْنَاكَji'nākaWe bring youبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqithe truthوَأَحْسَنَwa-aḥsanaand (the) bestتَفْسِيرًاtafsīranexplanation
  34. 34الَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoيُحْشَرُونَyuḥ'sharūnawill be gatheredعَلَىʿalāonوُجُوهِهِمْwujūhihimtheir facesإِلَىilātoجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellأُولَئِكَulāikathoseشَرٌّsharrun(are the) worstمَكَانًاmakānan(in) positionوَأَضَلُّwa-aḍalluand most astrayسَبِيلًاsabīlan(from the) way
  35. 35وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyءَاتَيْنَاātaynāWe gaveمُوسَىmūsāMusaالْكِتَابَl-kitābathe Scriptureوَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāand We appointedمَعَهُmaʿahuwith himأَخَاهُakhāhuhis brotherهَارُونَhārūnaHarunوَزِيرًاwazīran(as) an assistant
  36. 36فَقُلْنَاfaqul'nāThen We saidاذْهَبَاidh'habāGo both of youإِلَىilātoالْقَوْمِl-qawmithe peopleالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَذَّبُواkadhabūhave deniedبِءَايَاتِنَاbiāyātināOur SignsفَدَمَّرْنَاهُمْfadammarnāhumThen We destroyed themتَدْمِيرًاtadmīran(with) destruction
  37. 37وَقَوْمَwaqawmaAnd (the) peopleنُوحٍnūḥin(of) Nuhلَمَّاlammāwhenكَذَّبُواkadhabūthey deniedالرُّسُلَl-rusulathe MessengersأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْaghraqnāhumWe drowned themوَجَعَلْنَاهُمْwajaʿalnāhumand We made themلِلنَّاسِlilnnāsifor mankindءَايَةًāyatana signوَأَعْتَدْنَاwa-aʿtadnāAnd We have preparedلِلظَّالِمِينَlilẓẓālimīnafor the wrongdoersعَذَابًاʿadhābana punishmentأَلِيمًاalīmanpainful
  38. 38وَعَادًاwaʿādanAnd Adوَثَمُودَwathamūdāand Thamudوَأَصْحَابَwa-aṣḥābaand (the) dwellersالرَّسِّl-rasi(of) Ar-rassوَقُرُونًاwaqurūnanand generationsبَيْنَbaynabetweenذَلِكَdhālikathatكَثِيرًاkathīranmany
  39. 39وَكُلًّاwakullanAnd eachضَرَبْنَاḍarabnāWe have set forthلَهُlahufor himالْأَمْثَالَl-amthālathe examplesوَكُلًّاwakullanand eachتَبَّرْنَاtabbarnāWe destroyedتَتْبِيرًاtatbīran(with) destruction
  40. 40وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyأَتَوْاatawthey have comeعَلَىʿalāuponالْقَرْيَةِl-qaryatithe townالَّتِيallatīwhichأُمْطِرَتْum'ṭiratwas showeredمَطَرَmaṭara(with) a rainالسَّوْءِl-sawi(of) evilأَفَلَمْafalamThen do notيَكُونُواyakūnūthey [were]يَرَوْنَهَاyarawnahāsee itبَلْbalNayكَانُواkānūthey areلَاnotيَرْجُونَyarjūnaexpectingنُشُورًاnushūranResurrection
  41. 41وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenرَأَوْكَra-awkathey see youإِنْinnotيَتَّخِذُونَكَyattakhidhūnakathey take youإِلَّاillāexceptهُزُوًاhuzuwan(in) mockeryأَهَذَاahādhāIs thisالَّذِيalladhīthe one whomبَعَثَbaʿathaAllah has sentاللَّهُl-lahuAllah has sentرَسُولًاrasūlan(as) a Messenger
  42. 42إِنْinHe would have almostكَادَkādaHe would have almostلَيُضِلُّنَاlayuḍillunā[surely] misled usعَنْʿanfromءَالِهَتِنَاālihatināour godsلَوْلَاlawlāif notأَنْanthatصَبَرْنَاṣabarnāwe had been steadfastعَلَيْهَاʿalayhāto themوَسَوْفَwasawfaAnd soonيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnawill knowحِينَḥīnawhenيَرَوْنَyarawnathey will seeالْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentمَنْmanwhoأَضَلُّaḍallu(is) more astrayسَبِيلًاsabīlan(from the) way
  43. 43أَرَءَيْتَara-aytaHave you seenمَنِmani(one) whoاتَّخَذَittakhadhatakesإِلَهَهُilāhahu(as) his godهَوَاهُhawāhuhis own desireأَفَأَنْتَafa-antaThen would youتَكُونُtakūnubeعَلَيْهِʿalayhiover himوَكِيلًاwakīlana guardian
  44. 44أَمْamOrتَحْسَبُtaḥsabudo you thinkأَنَّannathatأَكْثَرَهُمْaktharahummost of themيَسْمَعُونَyasmaʿūnahearأَوْaworيَعْقِلُونَyaʿqilūnaunderstandإِنْinNotهُمْhumtheyإِلَّاillā(are) exceptكَالْأَنْعَامِkal-anʿāmilike cattleبَلْbalNayهُمْhumtheyأَضَلُّaḍallu(are) more astrayسَبِيلًاsabīlan(from the) way
  45. 45أَلَمْalamDo you notتَرَtaraseeإِلَىilā[to]رَبِّكَrabbikayour LordكَيْفَkayfahowمَدَّmaddaHe extendsالظِّلَّl-ẓilathe shadowوَلَوْwalawAnd ifشَاءَshāaHe willedلَجَعَلَهُlajaʿalahusurely He (could) have made itسَاكِنًاsākinanstationaryثُمَّthummaThenجَعَلْنَاjaʿalnāWe madeالشَّمْسَl-shamsathe sunعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itدَلِيلًاdalīlanan indication
  46. 46ثُمَّthummaThenقَبَضْنَاهُqabaḍnāhuWe withdraw itإِلَيْنَاilaynāto Usقَبْضًاqabḍana withdrawalيَسِيرًاyasīrangradual
  47. 47وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoجَعَلَjaʿalamadeلَكُمُlakumufor youاللَّيْلَal-laylathe nightلِبَاسًاlibāsan(as) a coveringوَالنَّوْمَwal-nawmaand the sleepسُبَاتًاsubātana restوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand madeالنَّهَارَl-nahārathe dayنُشُورًاnushūrana resurrection
  48. 48وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoأَرْسَلَarsalasendsالرِّيَاحَl-riyāḥathe windsبُشْرًاbush'ran(as) glad tidingsبَيْنَbaynabeforeيَدَيْyadaybeforeرَحْمَتِهِraḥmatihiHis Mercyوَأَنْزَلْنَاwa-anzalnāand We send downمِنَminafromالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe skyمَاءًmāanwaterطَهُورًاṭahūranpure
  49. 49لِنُحْيِيَlinuḥ'yiyaThat We may give lifeبِهِbihitherebyبَلْدَةًbaldatan(to) a landمَيْتًاmaytandeadوَنُسْقِيَهُwanus'qiyahuand We give drinkمِمَّاmimmāthereofخَلَقْنَاkhalaqnā(to those) We createdأَنْعَامًاanʿāmancattleوَأَنَاسِيَّwa-anāsiyyaand menكَثِيرًاkathīranmany
  50. 50وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyصَرَّفْنَاهُṣarrafnāhuWe have distributed itبَيْنَهُمْbaynahumamong themلِيَذَّكَّرُواliyadhakkarūthat they may rememberفَأَبَىfa-abābut refuseأَكْثَرُaktharumostالنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the peopleإِلَّاillāexceptكُفُورًاkufūrandisbelief
  51. 51وَلَوْwalawAnd ifشِئْنَاshi'nāWe willedلَبَعَثْنَاlabaʿathnāsurely We (would) have raisedفِيinكُلِّkullieveryقَرْيَةٍqaryatintownنَذِيرًاnadhīrana warner
  52. 52فَلَاfalāSo (do) notتُطِعِtuṭiʿiobeyالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelieversوَجَاهِدْهُمْwajāhid'humand strive (against) themبِهِbihiwith itجِهَادًاjihādana strivingكَبِيرًاkabīrangreat
  53. 53وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoمَرَجَmaraja(has) releasedالْبَحْرَيْنِl-baḥraynithe two seasهَذَاhādhā[this] (one)عَذْبٌʿadhbunpalatableفُرَاتٌfurātunand sweetوَهَذَاwahādhāand [this] (one)مِلْحٌmil'ḥunsaltyأُجَاجٌujājun(and) bitterوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand He has madeبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumābetween themبَرْزَخًاbarzakhana barrierوَحِجْرًاwaḥij'ranand a partitionمَحْجُورًاmaḥjūranforbidden
  54. 54وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoخَلَقَkhalaqahas createdمِنَminafromالْمَاءِl-māithe waterبَشَرًاbasharanhuman beingفَجَعَلَهُfajaʿalahuand has made (for) himنَسَبًاnasabanblood relationshipوَصِهْرًاwaṣih'ranand marriage relationshipوَكَانَwakānaAnd isرَبُّكَrabbukayour LordقَدِيرًاqadīranAll-Powerful
  55. 55وَيَعْبُدُونَwayaʿbudūnaBut they worshipمِنْminbesides Allahدُونِdūnibesides Allahاللَّهِl-lahibesides Allahمَاwhatلَاnot profits themيَنْفَعُهُمْyanfaʿuhumnot profits themوَلَاwalāand notيَضُرُّهُمْyaḍurruhumharms themوَكَانَwakānaand isالْكَافِرُl-kāfiruthe disbelieverعَلَىʿalāagainstرَبِّهِrabbihihis Lordظَهِيرًاẓahīrana helper
  56. 56وَمَاwamāAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاكَarsalnākaWe sent youإِلَّاillāexceptمُبَشِّرًاmubashiran(as) a bearer of glad tidingsوَنَذِيرًاwanadhīranand a warner
  57. 57قُلْqulSayمَاNotأَسْءَلُكُمْasalukumI ask (of) youعَلَيْهِʿalayhifor itمِنْminanyأَجْرٍajrinpaymentإِلَّاillāexceptمَنْman(that) whoever willsشَاءَshāa(that) whoever willsأَنْantoيَتَّخِذَyattakhidhatakeإِلَىilātoرَبِّهِrabbihihis Lordسَبِيلًاsabīlana way
  58. 58وَتَوَكَّلْwatawakkalAnd put your trustعَلَىʿalāinالْحَيِّl-ḥayithe Ever-Livingالَّذِيalladhīthe One Whoلَاdoes not dieيَمُوتُyamūtudoes not dieوَسَبِّحْwasabbiḥand glorifyبِحَمْدِهِbiḥamdihiwith His PraiseوَكَفَىwakafāAnd sufficient isبِهِbihiHeبِذُنُوبِbidhunūbiregarding the sinsعِبَادِهِʿibādihi(of) His slavesخَبِيرًاkhabīranAll-Aware
  59. 59الَّذِيalladhīThe One Whoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthوَمَاwamāand whateverبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā(is) between themفِيinسِتَّةِsittatisixأَيَّامٍayyāminperiodsثُمَّthummathenاسْتَوَىis'tawāHe established Himselfعَلَىʿalāoverالْعَرْشِl-ʿarshithe Throneالرَّحْمَنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Graciousفَسْءَلْfasalso askبِهِbihiHimخَبِيرًاkhabīran(as He is) All-Aware
  60. 60وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenقِيلَqīlait is saidلَهُمُlahumuto themاسْجُدُواus'judūProstrateلِلرَّحْمَنِlilrraḥmānito the Most GraciousقَالُواqālūThey sayوَمَاwamāAnd whatالرَّحْمَنُl-raḥmānu(is) the Most GraciousأَنَسْجُدُanasjuduShould we prostrateلِمَاlimāto whatتَأْمُرُنَاtamurunāyou order usوَزَادَهُمْwazādahumAnd it increases themنُفُورًاnufūran(in) aversion
  61. 61تَبَارَكَtabārakaBlessed is HeالَّذِيalladhīWhoجَعَلَjaʿalahas placedفِيinالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe skiesبُرُوجًاburūjanconstellationsوَجَعَلَwajaʿalaand has placedفِيهَاfīhāthereinسِرَاجًاsirājana lampوَقَمَرًاwaqamaranand a moonمُنِيرًاmunīranshining
  62. 62وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoجَعَلَjaʿalamadeاللَّيْلَal-laylathe nightوَالنَّهَارَwal-nahāraand the dayخِلْفَةًkhil'fatan(in) successionلِمَنْlimanfor whoeverأَرَادَarādadesiresأَنْantoيَذَّكَّرَyadhakkararememberأَوْaworأَرَادَarādadesiresشُكُورًاshukūranto be thankful
  63. 63وَعِبَادُwaʿibāduAnd (the) slavesالرَّحْمَنِl-raḥmāni(of) the Most Graciousالَّذِينَalladhīna(are) those whoيَمْشُونَyamshūnawalkعَلَىʿalāonالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthهَوْنًاhawnan(in) humblenessوَإِذَاwa-idhāand whenخَاطَبَهُمُkhāṭabahumuaddress themالْجَاهِلُونَl-jāhilūnathe ignorant onesقَالُواqālūthey sayسَلَامًاsalāmanPeace
  64. 64وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoيَبِيتُونَyabītūnaspend (the) nightلِرَبِّهِمْlirabbihimbefore their Lordسُجَّدًاsujjadanprostratingوَقِيَامًاwaqiyāmanand standing
  65. 65وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasayرَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lord!اصْرِفْiṣ'rifAvertعَنَّاʿannāfrom usعَذَابَʿadhābathe punishmentجَهَنَّمَjahannama(of) HellإِنَّinnaIndeedعَذَابَهَاʿadhābahāits punishmentكَانَkānaisغَرَامًاgharāmaninseparable
  66. 66إِنَّهَاinnahāIndeed itسَاءَتْsāat(is) an evilمُسْتَقَرًّاmus'taqarranabodeوَمُقَامًاwamuqāmanand resting place
  67. 67وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoإِذَاidhāwhenأَنْفَقُواanfaqūthey spendلَمْlam(are) not extravagantيُسْرِفُواyus'rifū(are) not extravagantوَلَمْwalamand are not stingyيَقْتُرُواyaqturūand are not stingyوَكَانَwakānabut areبَيْنَbaynabetweenذَلِكَdhālikathatقَوَامًاqawāmanmoderate
  68. 68وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoلَا(do) notيَدْعُونَyadʿūnainvokeمَعَmaʿawithاللَّهِl-lahiAllahإِلَهًاilāhangodءَاخَرَākharaanotherوَلَاwalāand (do) notيَقْتُلُونَyaqtulūna[they] killالنَّفْسَl-nafsathe soulالَّتِيallatīwhichحَرَّمَḥarramaAllah has forbiddenاللَّهُl-lahuAllah has forbiddenإِلَّاillāexceptبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiby rightوَلَاwalāand (do) notيَزْنُونَyaznūnacommit adulteryوَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverيَفْعَلْyafʿaldoesذَلِكَdhālikathatيَلْقَyalqawill meetأَثَامًاathāmana penalty
  69. 69يُضَاعَفْyuḍāʿafWill be doubledلَهُlahufor himالْعَذَابُl-ʿadhābuthe punishmentيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayالْقِيَامَةِl-qiyāmati(of) Resurrectionوَيَخْلُدْwayakhludand he will abide foreverفِيهِfīhithereinمُهَانًاmuhānanhumiliated
  70. 70إِلَّاillāExceptمَنْman(he) whoتَابَtābarepentsوَءَامَنَwaāmanaand believesوَعَمِلَwaʿamilaand doesعَمَلًاʿamalanrighteous deedsصَالِحًاṣāliḥanrighteous deedsفَأُولَئِكَfa-ulāikathen (for) thoseيُبَدِّلُyubaddiluAllah will replaceاللَّهُl-lahuAllah will replaceسَيِّئَاتِهِمْsayyiātihimtheir evil deedsحَسَنَاتٍḥasanātin(with) good onesوَكَانَwakānaAnd isاللَّهُl-lahuAllahغَفُورًاghafūranOft-ForgivingرَحِيمًاraḥīmanMost Merciful
  71. 71وَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverتَابَtābarepentsوَعَمِلَwaʿamilaand doesصَالِحًاṣāliḥanrighteous (deeds)فَإِنَّهُfa-innahuthen indeed heيَتُوبُyatūbuturnsإِلَىilātoاللَّهِl-lahiAllahمَتَابًاmatāban(with) repentance
  72. 72وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoلَا(do) notيَشْهَدُونَyashhadūnabear witnessالزُّورَl-zūra(to) the falsehoodوَإِذَاwa-idhāand whenمَرُّواmarrūthey passبِاللَّغْوِbil-laghwiby futilityمَرُّواmarrūthey passكِرَامًاkirāman(as) dignified ones
  73. 73وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoإِذَاidhāwhenذُكِّرُواdhukkirūthey are remindedبِءَايَاتِbiāyātiof (the) Versesرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lordلَمْlam(do) notيَخِرُّواyakhirrūfallعَلَيْهَاʿalayhāupon themصُمًّاṣummandeafوَعُمْيَانًاwaʿum'yānanand blind
  74. 74وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnasayرَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lord!هَبْhabGrantلَنَاlanāto usمِنْminfromأَزْوَاجِنَاazwājināour spousesوَذُرِّيَّاتِنَاwadhurriyyātināand our offspringقُرَّةَqurratacomfortأَعْيُنٍaʿyunin(to) our eyesوَاجْعَلْنَاwa-ij'ʿalnāand make usلِلْمُتَّقِينَlil'muttaqīnafor the righteousإِمَامًاimāmana leader
  75. 75أُولَئِكَulāikaThoseيُجْزَوْنَyuj'zawnawill be awardedالْغُرْفَةَl-ghur'fatathe Chamberبِمَاbimābecauseصَبَرُواṣabarūthey were patientوَيُلَقَّوْنَwayulaqqawnaand they will be metفِيهَاfīhāthereinتَحِيَّةًtaḥiyyatan(with) greetingsوَسَلَامًاwasalāmanand peace
  76. 76خَالِدِينَkhālidīnaWill abide foreverفِيهَاfīhāin itحَسُنَتْḥasunatGoodمُسْتَقَرًّاmus'taqarran(is) the settlementوَمُقَامًاwamuqāmanand a resting place
  77. 77قُلْqulSayمَاNotيَعْبَؤُاyaʿba-uwill careبِكُمْbikumfor youرَبِّيrabbīmy Lordلَوْلَاlawlāif notدُعَاؤُكُمْduʿāukumyour prayer (is to Him)فَقَدْfaqadBut verilyكَذَّبْتُمْkadhabtumyou have deniedفَسَوْفَfasawfaso soonيَكُونُyakūnuwill beلِزَامًاlizāmanthe inevitable (punishment)
