بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 23 — Al-Muminoon

  1. 1قَدْqadIndeedأَفْلَحَaflaḥasuccessfulالْمُؤْمِنُونَl-mu'minūna(are) the believers
  2. 2الَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoهُمْhum[they]فِيduringصَلَاتِهِمْṣalātihimtheir prayersخَاشِعُونَkhāshiʿūna(are) humbly submissive
  3. 3وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaThose whoهُمْhum[they]عَنِʿanifromاللَّغْوِl-laghwithe vain talkمُعْرِضُونَmuʿ'riḍūnaturn away
  4. 4وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaThose whoهُمْhum[they]لِلزَّكَوةِlilzzakatiof purification worksفَاعِلُونَfāʿilūna(are) doers
  5. 5وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoهُمْhum[they]لِفُرُوجِهِمْlifurūjihimof their modestyحَافِظُونَḥāfiẓūna(are) guardians
  6. 6إِلَّاillāExceptعَلَىʿalāfromأَزْوَاجِهِمْazwājihimtheir spousesأَوْaworمَاwhatمَلَكَتْmalakatpossessأَيْمَانُهُمْaymānuhumtheir right handsفَإِنَّهُمْfa-innahumthen indeed, theyغَيْرُghayru(are) notمَلُومِينَmalūmīnablameworthy
  7. 7فَمَنِfamaniThen whoeverابْتَغَىib'taghāseeksوَرَاءَwarāabeyondذَلِكَdhālikathatفَأُولَئِكَfa-ulāikathen thoseهُمُhumu[they]الْعَادُونَl-ʿādūna(are) the transgressors
  8. 8وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoهُمْhum[they]لِأَمَانَاتِهِمْli-amānātihimof their trustsوَعَهْدِهِمْwaʿahdihimand their promise(s)رَاعُونَrāʿūna(are) observers
  9. 9وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoهُمْhum[they]عَلَىʿalāoverصَلَوَاتِهِمْṣalawātihimtheir prayersيُحَافِظُونَyuḥāfiẓūnathey guard
  10. 10أُولَئِكَulāikaThoseهُمُhumu[they]الْوَارِثُونَl-wārithūna(are) the inheritors
  11. 11الَّذِينَalladhīnaWhoيَرِثُونَyarithūnawill inheritالْفِرْدَوْسَl-fir'dawsathe ParadiseهُمْhumTheyفِيهَاfīhāthereinخَالِدُونَkhālidūna(will) abide forever
  12. 12وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd indeedخَلَقْنَاkhalaqnāWe createdالْإِنْسَانَl-insānathe humankindمِنْminfromسُلَالَةٍsulālatinan essenceمِنْminofطِينٍṭīninclay
  13. 13ثُمَّthummaThenجَعَلْنَاهُjaʿalnāhuWe placed himنُطْفَةًnuṭ'fatan(as) a semen-dropفِيinقَرَارٍqarārina resting placeمَكِينٍmakīninfirm
  14. 14ثُمَّthummaThenخَلَقْنَاkhalaqnāWe createdالنُّطْفَةَl-nuṭ'fatathe semen-dropعَلَقَةًʿalaqatan(into) a clinging substanceفَخَلَقْنَاfakhalaqnāthen We createdالْعَلَقَةَl-ʿalaqatathe clinging substanceمُضْغَةًmuḍ'ghatan(into) an embryonic lumpفَخَلَقْنَاfakhalaqnāthen We createdالْمُضْغَةَl-muḍ'ghatathe embryonic lumpعِظَامًاʿiẓāman(into) bonesفَكَسَوْنَاfakasawnāthen We clothedالْعِظَامَl-ʿiẓāmathe bonesلَحْمًاlaḥman(with) fleshثُمَّthummathenأَنْشَأْنَاهُanshanāhuWe produce itخَلْقًاkhalqan(as) a creationءَاخَرَākharaanotherفَتَبَارَكَfatabārakaSo blessed isاللَّهُl-lahuAllahأَحْسَنُaḥsanu(the) Bestالْخَالِقِينَl-khāliqīna(of) the Creators
  15. 15ثُمَّthummaThenإِنَّكُمْinnakumindeed youبَعْدَbaʿdaafterذَلِكَdhālikathatلَمَيِّتُونَlamayyitūnasurely (will) die
  16. 16ثُمَّthummaThenإِنَّكُمْinnakumindeed youيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayالْقِيَامَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionتُبْعَثُونَtub'ʿathūnawill be resurrected
  17. 17وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd indeedخَلَقْنَاkhalaqnāWe (have) createdفَوْقَكُمْfawqakumabove youسَبْعَsabʿasevenطَرَائِقَṭarāiqapathsوَمَاwamāand notكُنَّاkunnāWe areعَنِʿaniofالْخَلْقِl-khalqithe creationغَافِلِينَghāfilīnaunaware
  18. 18وَأَنْزَلْنَاwa-anzalnāAnd We send downمِنَminafromالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe skyمَاءًmāanwaterبِقَدَرٍbiqadarinin (due) measureفَأَسْكَنَّاهُfa-askannāhuthen We cause it to settleفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَإِنَّاwa-innāAnd indeed, Weعَلَىʿalāonذَهَابٍdhahābintaking it awayبِهِbihitaking it awayلَقَادِرُونَlaqādirūnasurely (are) Able
  19. 19فَأَنْشَأْنَاfa-anshanāThen We producedلَكُمْlakumfor youبِهِbihiby itجَنَّاتٍjannātingardensمِنْminof date-palmsنَخِيلٍnakhīlinof date-palmsوَأَعْنَابٍwa-aʿnābinand grapevinesلَكُمْlakumfor youفِيهَاfīhāin itفَوَاكِهُfawākihu(are) fruitsكَثِيرَةٌkathīratunabundantوَمِنْهَاwamin'hāand from themتَأْكُلُونَtakulūnayou eat
  20. 20وَشَجَرَةًwashajaratanAnd a treeتَخْرُجُtakhruju(that) springs forthمِنْminfromطُورِṭūriMount SinaiسَيْنَاءَsaynāaMount Sinaiتَنْبُتُtanbutu(which) producesبِالدُّهْنِbil-duh'nioilوَصِبْغٍwaṣib'ghinand a relishلِلْءَاكِلِينَlil'ākilīnafor those who eat
  21. 21وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedلَكُمْlakumfor youفِيinالْأَنْعَامِl-anʿāmithe cattleلَعِبْرَةًlaʿib'ratansurely (is) a lessonنُسْقِيكُمْnus'qīkumWe give you drinkمِمَّاmimmāfrom whatفِي(is) inبُطُونِهَاbuṭūnihātheir belliesوَلَكُمْwalakumand for youفِيهَاfīhāin themمَنَافِعُmanāfiʿu(are) benefitsكَثِيرَةٌkathīratunmanyوَمِنْهَاwamin'hāand of themتَأْكُلُونَtakulūnayou eat
  22. 22وَعَلَيْهَاwaʿalayhāAnd on themوَعَلَىwaʿalāand onالْفُلْكِl-ful'ki[the] shipsتُحْمَلُونَtuḥ'malūnayou are carried
  23. 23وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentنُوحًاnūḥanNuhإِلَىilātoقَوْمِهِqawmihihis peopleفَقَالَfaqālaand he saidيَاقَوْمِyāqawmiO my people!اعْبُدُواuʿ'budūWorshipاللَّهَl-lahaAllahمَاnotلَكُمْlakumfor youمِنْmin(is) anyإِلَهٍilāhingodغَيْرُهُghayruhuother than HimأَفَلَاafalāThen will notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear
  24. 24فَقَالَfaqālaBut saidالْمَلَأُl-mala-uthe chiefsالَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedمِنْminamongقَوْمِهِqawmihihis peopleمَاThis is notهَذَاhādhāThis is notإِلَّاillābutبَشَرٌbasharuna manمِثْلُكُمْmith'lukumlike youيُرِيدُyurīduhe wishesأَنْantoيَتَفَضَّلَyatafaḍḍalaassert (his) superiorityعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumover youوَلَوْwalawand ifشَاءَshāaAllah had willedاللَّهُl-lahuAllah had willedلَأَنْزَلَla-anzalasurely He (would have) sent downمَلَائِكَةًmalāikatanAngelsمَاNotسَمِعْنَاsamiʿ'nāwe heardبِهَذَاbihādhāof thisفِيfromءَابَائِنَاābāināour forefathersالْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīnaour forefathers
  25. 25إِنْinNotهُوَhuwaheإِلَّاillā(is) butرَجُلٌrajuluna manبِهِbihiin himجِنَّةٌjinnatun(is) madnessفَتَرَبَّصُواfatarabbaṣūso waitبِهِbihiconcerning himحَتَّىḥattāuntilحِينٍḥīnina time
  26. 26قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!انْصُرْنِيunṣur'nīHelp meبِمَاbimābecauseكَذَّبُونِkadhabūnithey deny me
  27. 27فَأَوْحَيْنَاfa-awḥaynāSo We inspiredإِلَيْهِilayhito himأَنِaniThatاصْنَعِiṣ'naʿiconstructالْفُلْكَl-ful'kathe shipبِأَعْيُنِنَاbi-aʿyunināunder Our eyesوَوَحْيِنَاwawaḥyināand Our inspirationفَإِذَاfa-idhāthen whenجَاءَjāacomesأَمْرُنَاamrunāOur Commandوَفَارَwafāraand gushes forthالتَّنُّورُl-tanūruthe ovenفَاسْلُكْfa-us'lukthen putفِيهَاfīhāinto itمِنْminofكُلٍّkullinevery (kind)زَوْجَيْنِzawjayni(of) matesاثْنَيْنِith'naynitwoوَأَهْلَكَwa-ahlakaand your familyإِلَّاillāexceptمَنْmanthoseسَبَقَsabaqa(has) precededعَلَيْهِʿalayhiagainst whomالْقَوْلُl-qawluthe Wordمِنْهُمْmin'humthereofوَلَاwalāAnd (do) notتُخَاطِبْنِيtukhāṭib'nīaddress Meفِيconcerningالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoظَلَمُواẓalamūwrongedإِنَّهُمْinnahumindeed theyمُغْرَقُونَmugh'raqūna(are) the ones to be drowned
  28. 28فَإِذَاfa-idhāAnd whenاسْتَوَيْتَis'tawaytayou (have) boardedأَنْتَantayouوَمَنْwamanand whoeverمَعَكَmaʿaka(is) with youعَلَىʿalā[on]الْفُلْكِl-ful'kithe shipفَقُلِfaqulithen sayالْحَمْدُl-ḥamduPraiseلِلَّهِlillahi(be) to AllahالَّذِيalladhīWhoنَجَّانَاnajjānā(has) saved usمِنَminafromالْقَوْمِl-qawmithe peopleالظَّالِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers."
  29. 29وَقُلْwaqulAnd sayرَبِّrabbiMy Lordأَنْزِلْنِيanzil'nīcause me to landمُنْزَلًاmunzalan(at) a landing placeمُبَارَكًاmubārakanblessedوَأَنْتَwa-antaand Youخَيْرُkhayru(are) the Bestالْمُنْزِلِينَl-munzilīna(of) those who cause to"
  30. 30إِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinذَلِكَdhālikathatلَءَايَاتٍlaāyātinsurely (are) Signsوَإِنْwa-inand indeedكُنَّاkunnāWe areلَمُبْتَلِينَlamub'talīnasurely testing
  31. 31ثُمَّthummaThenأَنْشَأْنَاanshanāWe producedمِنْminafter themبَعْدِهِمْbaʿdihimafter themقَرْنًاqarnana generationءَاخَرِينَākharīnaanother
  32. 32فَأَرْسَلْنَاfa-arsalnāAnd We sentفِيهِمْfīhimamong themرَسُولًاrasūlana Messengerمِنْهُمْmin'humfrom themselvesأَنِani[that]اعْبُدُواuʿ'budūWorshipاللَّهَl-lahaAllahمَاnotلَكُمْlakumfor youمِنْmin(is) anyإِلَهٍilāhingodغَيْرُهُghayruhuother than HimأَفَلَاafalāThen will notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear
  33. 33وَقَالَwaqālaAnd saidالْمَلَأُl-mala-uthe chiefsمِنْminofقَوْمِهِqawmihihis peopleالَّذِينَalladhīnawhoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedوَكَذَّبُواwakadhabūand deniedبِلِقَاءِbiliqāi(the) meetingالْءَاخِرَةِl-ākhirati(of) the Hereafterوَأَتْرَفْنَاهُمْwa-atrafnāhumwhile We had given them luxuryفِيinالْحَيَوةِl-ḥayatithe lifeالدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the worldمَاNotهَذَاhādhā(is) thisإِلَّاillābutبَشَرٌbasharuna manمِثْلُكُمْmith'lukumlike youيَأْكُلُyakuluHe eatsمِمَّاmimmāof whatتَأْكُلُونَtakulūnayou eatمِنْهُmin'hu[from it]وَيَشْرَبُwayashrabuand he drinksمِمَّاmimmāof whatتَشْرَبُونَtashrabūnayou drink
  34. 34وَلَئِنْwala-inAnd surely ifأَطَعْتُمْaṭaʿtumyou obeyبَشَرًاbasharana manمِثْلَكُمْmith'lakumlike youإِنَّكُمْinnakumindeed youإِذًاidhanthenلَخَاسِرُونَlakhāsirūnasurely (will be) losers
  35. 35أَيَعِدُكُمْayaʿidukumDoes he promise youأَنَّكُمْannakumthat youإِذَاidhāwhenمِتُّمْmittumyou are deadوَكُنْتُمْwakuntumand you becomeتُرَابًاturābandustوَعِظَامًاwaʿiẓāmanand bonesأَنَّكُمْannakumthat youمُخْرَجُونَmukh'rajūna(will be) brought forth
  36. 36هَيْهَاتَhayhātaFar-(fetched)هَيْهَاتَhayhātafar-(fetched)لِمَاlimāis whatتُوعَدُونَtūʿadūnayou are promised!
  37. 37إِنْinNotهِيَhiyaitإِلَّاillā(is) butحَيَاتُنَاḥayātunāour lifeالدُّنْيَاl-dun'yā(of) the worldنَمُوتُnamūtuwe dieوَنَحْيَاwanaḥyāand we liveوَمَاwamāand notنَحْنُnaḥnuweبِمَبْعُوثِينَbimabʿūthīna(will be) resurrected
  38. 38إِنْinNotهُوَhuwa(is) heإِلَّاillābutرَجُلٌrajuluna manافْتَرَىif'tarāwho (has) inventedعَلَىʿalāaboutاللَّهِl-lahiAllahكَذِبًاkadhibana lieوَمَاwamāand notنَحْنُnaḥnuweلَهُlahu(in) himبِمُؤْمِنِينَbimu'minīna(are) believers
  39. 39قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!انْصُرْنِيunṣur'nīHelp meبِمَاbimābecauseكَذَّبُونِkadhabūnithey deny me
  40. 40قَالَqālaHe saidعَمَّاʿammāAfter a little whileقَلِيلٍqalīlinAfter a little whileلَيُصْبِحُنَّlayuṣ'biḥunnasurely they will becomeنَادِمِينَnādimīnaregretful
  41. 41فَأَخَذَتْهُمُfa-akhadhathumuSo seized themالصَّيْحَةُl-ṣayḥatuthe awful cryبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truthفَجَعَلْنَاهُمْfajaʿalnāhumand We made themغُثَاءًghuthāan(as) rubbish of dead leavesفَبُعْدًاfabuʿ'danSo awayلِلْقَوْمِlil'qawmiwith the peopleالظَّالِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
  42. 42ثُمَّthummaThenأَنْشَأْنَاanshanāWe producedمِنْminafter themبَعْدِهِمْbaʿdihimafter themقُرُونًاqurūnana generationءَاخَرِينَākharīnaanother
  43. 43مَاNotتَسْبِقُtasbiqucan precedeمِنْminanyأُمَّةٍummatinnationأَجَلَهَاajalahāits termوَمَاwamāand notيَسْتَءْخِرُونَyastakhirūnathey (can) delay (it)
  44. 44ثُمَّthummaThenأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentرُسُلَنَاrusulanāOur Messengersتَتْرَاtatrā(in) successionكُلَّkullaEvery timeمَاEvery timeجَاءَjāacameأُمَّةًummatan(to) a nationرَسُولُهَاrasūluhāits Messengerكَذَّبُوهُkadhabūhuthey denied himفَأَتْبَعْنَاfa-atbaʿnāso We made (them) followبَعْضَهُمْbaʿḍahumsome of themبَعْضًاbaʿḍanothersوَجَعَلْنَاهُمْwajaʿalnāhumand We made themأَحَادِيثَaḥādīthanarrationsفَبُعْدًاfabuʿ'danSo awayلِقَوْمٍliqawminwith a peopleلَاnotيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnathey believe
  45. 45ثُمَّthummaThenأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentمُوسَىmūsāMusaوَأَخَاهُwa-akhāhuand his brotherهَارُونَhārūnaHarunبِءَايَاتِنَاbiāyātināwith Our Signsوَسُلْطَانٍwasul'ṭāninand an authorityمُبِينٍmubīninclear
  46. 46إِلَىilāToفِرْعَوْنَfir'ʿawnaFiraunوَمَلَإيهِwamala-ihiand his chiefsفَاسْتَكْبَرُواfa-is'takbarūbut they behaved arrogantlyوَكَانُواwakānūand they wereقَوْمًاqawmana peopleعَالِينَʿālīnahaughty
  47. 47فَقَالُواfaqālūThen they saidأَنُؤْمِنُanu'minuShall we believeلِبَشَرَيْنِlibasharayni(in) two menمِثْلِنَاmith'linālike ourselvesوَقَوْمُهُمَاwaqawmuhumāwhile their peopleلَنَاlanāfor usعَابِدُونَʿābidūna(are) slaves
  48. 48فَكَذَّبُوهُمَاfakadhabūhumāSo they denied themفَكَانُواfakānūand they becameمِنَminaofالْمُهْلَكِينَl-muh'lakīnathose who were destroyed
  49. 49وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyءَاتَيْنَاātaynāWe gaveمُوسَىmūsāMusaالْكِتَابَl-kitābathe Scriptureلَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayيَهْتَدُونَyahtadūnabe guided
  50. 50وَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāAnd We madeابْنَib'na(the) sonمَرْيَمَmaryama(of) Maryamوَأُمَّهُwa-ummahuand his motherءَايَةًāyatana Signوَءَاوَيْنَاهُمَاwaāwaynāhumāand We sheltered themإِلَىilātoرَبْوَةٍrabwatina high groundذَاتِdhātiof tranquilityقَرَارٍqarārinof tranquilityوَمَعِينٍwamaʿīninand water springs
  51. 51يَاأَيُّهَاyāayyuhāO Messengersالرُّسُلُl-rusuluO MessengersكُلُواkulūEatمِنَminaofالطَّيِّبَاتِl-ṭayibātithe good thingsوَاعْمَلُواwa-iʿ'malūand doصَالِحًاṣāliḥanrighteous (deeds)إِنِّيinnīIndeed, I Amبِمَاbimāof whatتَعْمَلُونَtaʿmalūnayou doعَلِيمٌʿalīmunAll-Knower
  52. 52وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedهَذِهِhādhihithisأُمَّتُكُمْummatukumyour religionأُمَّةًummatan(is) religionوَاحِدَةًwāḥidatanoneوَأَنَاwa-anāAnd I Amرَبُّكُمْrabbukumyour Lordفَاتَّقُونِfa-ittaqūniso fear Me
  53. 53فَتَقَطَّعُواfataqaṭṭaʿūBut they cut offأَمْرَهُمْamrahumtheir affair (of unity)بَيْنَهُمْbaynahumbetween themزُبُرًاzuburan(into) sectsكُلُّkullueachحِزْبٍḥiz'binfactionبِمَاbimāin whatلَدَيْهِمْladayhimthey haveفَرِحُونَfariḥūnarejoicing
  54. 54فَذَرْهُمْfadharhumSo leave themفِيinغَمْرَتِهِمْghamratihimtheir confusionحَتَّىḥattāuntilحِينٍḥīnina time
  55. 55أَيَحْسَبُونَayaḥsabūnaDo they thinkأَنَّمَاannamāthat whatنُمِدُّهُمْnumidduhumWe extend to themبِهِbihi[with it]مِنْminofمَالٍmālinwealthوَبَنِينَwabanīnaand children
  56. 56نُسَارِعُnusāriʿuWe hastenلَهُمْlahumto themفِيinالْخَيْرَاتِl-khayrātithe goodبَلْbalNayلَاnotيَشْعُرُونَyashʿurūnathey perceive
  57. 57إِنَّinnaIndeedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoهُمْhum[they]مِنْminfromخَشْيَةِkhashyati(the) fearرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lordمُشْفِقُونَmush'fiqūna(are) cautious
  58. 58وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd thoseهُمْhum[they]بِءَايَاتِbiāyātiin (the) Signsرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lordيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
  59. 59وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd thoseهُمْhum[they]بِرَبِّهِمْbirabbihimwith their Lordلَا(do) notيُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnaassociate partners
  60. 60وَالَّذِينَwa-alladhīnaAnd those whoيُؤْتُونَyu'tūnagiveمَاwhatءَاتَوْاātawthey giveوَقُلُوبُهُمْwaqulūbuhumwhile their heartsوَجِلَةٌwajilatun(are) fearfulأَنَّهُمْannahumbecause theyإِلَىilātoرَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lordرَاجِعُونَrājiʿūna(will) return
  61. 61أُولَئِكَulāika(It is) thoseيُسَارِعُونَyusāriʿūnawho hastenفِيinالْخَيْرَاتِl-khayrātithe good (deeds)وَهُمْwahumand theyلَهَاlahāin themسَابِقُونَsābiqūna(are) foremost
  62. 62وَلَاwalāAnd notنُكَلِّفُnukallifuWe burdenنَفْسًاnafsanany soulإِلَّاillāexceptوُسْعَهَاwus'ʿahā(to) its capacityوَلَدَيْنَاwaladaynāand with Usكِتَابٌkitābun(is) a Recordيَنْطِقُyanṭiqu(which) speaksبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiwith the truthوَهُمْwahumand theyلَا(will) notيُظْلَمُونَyuẓ'lamūnabe wronged
  63. 63بَلْbalNayقُلُوبُهُمْqulūbuhumtheir heartsفِي(are) inغَمْرَةٍghamratinconfusionمِنْminoverهَذَاhādhāthisوَلَهُمْwalahumand for themأَعْمَالٌaʿmālun(are) deedsمِنْminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesذَلِكَdhālikathatهُمْhumtheyلَهَاlahāfor itعَامِلُونَʿāmilūna(are) doers
  64. 64حَتَّىḥattāUntilإِذَاidhāwhenأَخَذْنَاakhadhnāWe seizeمُتْرَفِيهِمْmut'rafīhimtheir affluent onesبِالْعَذَابِbil-ʿadhābiwith the punishmentإِذَاidhābehold!هُمْhumTheyيَجْءَرُونَyajarūnacry for help
  65. 65لَا(Do) notتَجْءَرُواtajarūcry for helpالْيَوْمَl-yawmatodayإِنَّكُمْinnakumIndeed youمِنَّاminnāfrom Usلَاnotتُنْصَرُونَtunṣarūnawill be helped
  66. 66قَدْqadVerilyكَانَتْkānatwereءَايَاتِيāyātīMy Versesتُتْلَىtut'lārecitedعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumto youفَكُنْتُمْfakuntumbut you usedعَلَىʿalā(to) onأَعْقَابِكُمْaʿqābikumyour heelsتَنْكِصُونَtankiṣūnaturn back
  67. 67مُسْتَكْبِرِينَmus'takbirīna(Being) arrogantبِهِbihiabout itسَامِرًاsāmiranconversing by nightتَهْجُرُونَtahjurūnaspeaking evil
  68. 68أَفَلَمْafalamThen, do notيَدَّبَّرُواyaddabbarūthey ponderالْقَوْلَl-qawlathe Wordأَمْamorجَاءَهُمْjāahumhas come to themمَاwhatلَمْlamnotيَأْتِyati(had) comeءَابَاءَهُمُābāahumu(to) their forefathersالْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(to) their forefathers
  69. 69أَمْamOrلَمْlam(do) notيَعْرِفُواyaʿrifūthey recognizeرَسُولَهُمْrasūlahumtheir Messengerفَهُمْfahumso theyلَهُlahu(are) rejecting himمُنْكِرُونَmunkirūna(are) rejecting him
  70. 70أَمْamOrيَقُولُونَyaqūlūnathey sayبِهِbihiIn himجِنَّةٌjinnatun(is) madnessبَلْbalNayجَاءَهُمْjāahumhe brought themبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqithe truthوَأَكْثَرُهُمْwa-aktharuhumbut most of themلِلْحَقِّlil'ḥaqqito the truthكَارِهُونَkārihūna(are) averse
  71. 71وَلَوِwalawiBut ifاتَّبَعَittabaʿa(had) followedالْحَقُّl-ḥaquthe truthأَهْوَاءَهُمْahwāahumtheir desiresلَفَسَدَتِlafasadatisurely (would) have been corruptedالسَّمَاوَاتُl-samāwātuthe heavensوَالْأَرْضُwal-arḍuand the earthوَمَنْwamanand whoeverفِيهِنَّfīhinna(is) thereinبَلْbalNayأَتَيْنَاهُمْataynāhumWe have brought themبِذِكْرِهِمْbidhik'rihimtheir reminderفَهُمْfahumbut theyعَنْʿanfromذِكْرِهِمْdhik'rihimtheir reminderمُعْرِضُونَmuʿ'riḍūna(are) turning away
  72. 72أَمْamOrتَسْءَلُهُمْtasaluhumyou ask themخَرْجًاkharjan(for) a paymentفَخَرَاجُfakharājuBut the paymentرَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lordخَيْرٌkhayrun(is) bestوَهُوَwahuwaand Heخَيْرُkhayru(is) the Bestالرَّازِقِينَl-rāziqīna(of) the Providers
  73. 73وَإِنَّكَwa-innakaAnd indeed youلَتَدْعُوهُمْlatadʿūhumcertainly call themإِلَىilātoصِرَاطٍṣirāṭin(the) Pathمُسْتَقِيمٍmus'taqīminStraight
  74. 74وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieveبِالْءَاخِرَةِbil-ākhiratiin the Hereafterعَنِʿanifromالصِّرَاطِl-ṣirāṭithe pathلَنَاكِبُونَlanākibūnasurely (are) deviating
  75. 75وَلَوْwalawAnd ifرَحِمْنَاهُمْraḥim'nāhumWe had mercy on themوَكَشَفْنَاwakashafnāand We removedمَاwhatبِهِمْbihim(was) on themمِنْminofضُرٍّḍurrin(the) hardshipلَلَجُّواlalajjūsurely they would persistفِيinطُغْيَانِهِمْṭugh'yānihimtheir transgressionيَعْمَهُونَyaʿmahūnawandering blindly
  76. 76وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyأَخَذْنَاهُمْakhadhnāhumWe seized themبِالْعَذَابِbil-ʿadhābiwith the punishmentفَمَاfamābut notاسْتَكَانُواis'takānūthey submitلِرَبِّهِمْlirabbihimto their Lordوَمَاwamāand notيَتَضَرَّعُونَyataḍarraʿūnathey supplicate humbly
  77. 77حَتَّىḥattāUntilإِذَاidhāwhenفَتَحْنَاfataḥnāWe openedعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimfor themبَابًاbābana gateذَاdhāof a punishmentعَذَابٍʿadhābinof a punishmentشَدِيدٍshadīdinsevereإِذَاidhābeholdهُمْhumTheyفِيهِfīhiin itمُبْلِسُونَmub'lisūna(will be in) despair
  78. 78وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoأَنْشَأَansha-aproducedلَكُمُlakumufor youالسَّمْعَl-samʿathe hearingوَالْأَبْصَارَwal-abṣāraand the sightوَالْأَفْئِدَةَwal-afidataand the feelingقَلِيلًاqalīlanlittleمَا(is) whatتَشْكُرُونَtashkurūnayou give thanks
  79. 79وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoذَرَأَكُمْdhara-akummultiplied youفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthوَإِلَيْهِwa-ilayhiand to Himتُحْشَرُونَtuḥ'sharūnayou will be gathered
  80. 80وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoيُحْيِيyuḥ'yīgives lifeوَيُمِيتُwayumītuand causes deathوَلَهُwalahuand for Himاخْتِلَافُikh'tilāfu(is the) alternationاللَّيْلِal-layli(of) the nightوَالنَّهَارِwal-nahāriand the dayأَفَلَاafalāThen will notتَعْقِلُونَtaʿqilūnayou reason
  81. 81بَلْbalNayقَالُواqālūthey sayمِثْلَmith'la(the) likeمَا(of) whatقَالَqālasaidالْأَوَّلُونَl-awalūnathe former (people)
  82. 82قَالُواqālūThey saidأَءِذَاa-idhāWhat! Whenمِتْنَاmit'nāwe are deadوَكُنَّاwakunnāand becomeتُرَابًاturābandustوَعِظَامًاwaʿiẓāmanand bonesأَءِنَّاa-innāwould weلَمَبْعُوثُونَlamabʿūthūnasurely be resurrected
  83. 83لَقَدْlaqadVerilyوُعِدْنَاwuʿid'nāwe have been promisedنَحْنُnaḥnu[we]وَءَابَاؤُنَاwaābāunāand our forefathersهَذَاhādhāthisمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeإِنْinnotهَذَاhādhā(is) thisإِلَّاillābutأَسَاطِيرُasāṭīru(the) talesالْأَوَّلِينَl-awalīna(of) the former (people)
  84. 84قُلْqulSayلِمَنِlimaniTo whom (belongs)الْأَرْضُl-arḍuthe earthوَمَنْwamanand whoeverفِيهَاfīhā(is) in itإِنْinifكُنْتُمْkuntumyouتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
  85. 85سَيَقُولُونَsayaqūlūnaThey will sayلِلَّهِlillahiTo AllahقُلْqulSayأَفَلَاafalāThen will notتَذَكَّرُونَtadhakkarūnayou remember
  86. 86قُلْqulSayمَنْmanWhoرَبُّrabbu(is the) Lordالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwāti(of) the seven heavensالسَّبْعِl-sabʿi(of) the seven heavensوَرَبُّwarabbuand (the) Lordالْعَرْشِl-ʿarshi(of) the Throneالْعَظِيمِl-ʿaẓīmithe Great
  87. 87سَيَقُولُونَsayaqūlūnaThey will sayلِلَّهِlillahiAllahقُلْqulSayأَفَلَاafalāThen will notتَتَّقُونَtattaqūnayou fear (Him)
  88. 88قُلْqulSayمَنْmanWho is (it)بِيَدِهِbiyadihiin Whose Hand(s)مَلَكُوتُmalakūtu(is the) dominionكُلِّkulli(of) allشَيْءٍshayinthingsوَهُوَwahuwaand Heيُجِيرُyujīruprotectsوَلَاwalāand no (one)يُجَارُyujāru(can) be protectedعَلَيْهِʿalayhiagainst HimإِنْinIfكُنْتُمْkuntumyouتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
  89. 89سَيَقُولُونَsayaqūlūnaThey will sayلِلَّهِlillahiAllahقُلْqulSayفَأَنَّىfa-annāThen howتُسْحَرُونَtus'ḥarūnaare you deluded
  90. 90بَلْbalNayأَتَيْنَاهُمْataynāhumWe (have) brought themبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqithe truthوَإِنَّهُمْwa-innahumbut indeed theyلَكَاذِبُونَlakādhibūnasurely (are) liars
  91. 91مَاNotاتَّخَذَittakhadhaAllah has takenاللَّهُl-lahuAllah has takenمِنْminanyوَلَدٍwaladinsonوَمَاwamāand notكَانَkānaisمَعَهُmaʿahuwith HimمِنْminanyإِلَهٍilāhingodإِذًاidhanThenلَذَهَبَladhahabasurely (would have) taken awayكُلُّkullueachإِلَهٍilāhingodبِمَاbimāwhatخَلَقَkhalaqahe createdوَلَعَلَاwalaʿalāand surely would have overpoweredبَعْضُهُمْbaʿḍuhumsome of themعَلَىʿalā[on]بَعْضٍbaʿḍinothersسُبْحَانَsub'ḥānaGlory beاللَّهِl-lahi(to) Allahعَمَّاʿammāabove whatيَصِفُونَyaṣifūnathey attribute
  92. 92عَالِمِʿālimiKnowerالْغَيْبِl-ghaybi(of) the unseenوَالشَّهَادَةِwal-shahādatiand the witnessedفَتَعَالَىfataʿālāexalted is Heعَمَّاʿammāabove whatيُشْرِكُونَyush'rikūnathey associate
  93. 93قُلْqulSayرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!إِمَّاimmāIfتُرِيَنِّيturiyannīYou should show meمَاwhatيُوعَدُونَyūʿadūnathey are promised
  94. 94رَبِّrabbiMy Lordفَلَاfalāthen (do) notتَجْعَلْنِيtajʿalnīplace meفِيamongالْقَوْمِl-qawmithe peopleالظَّالِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
  95. 95وَإِنَّاwa-innāAnd indeed WeعَلَىʿalāonأَنْanthatنُرِيَكَnuriyakaWe show youمَاwhatنَعِدُهُمْnaʿiduhumWe have promised themلَقَادِرُونَlaqādirūnasurely able
  96. 96ادْفَعْid'faʿRepelبِالَّتِيbi-allatīby thatهِيَhiyawhichأَحْسَنُaḥsanu(is) bestالسَّيِّئَةَl-sayi-atathe evilنَحْنُnaḥnuWeأَعْلَمُaʿlamuknow bestبِمَاbimāof whatيَصِفُونَyaṣifūnathey attribute
  97. 97وَقُلْwaqulAnd sayرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!أَعُوذُaʿūdhuI seek refugeبِكَbikain Youمِنْminfromهَمَزَاتِhamazāti(the) suggestionsالشَّيَاطِينِl-shayāṭīni(of) the evil ones
  98. 98وَأَعُوذُwa-aʿūdhuAnd I seek refugeبِكَbikain YouرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!أَنْanLestيَحْضُرُونِyaḥḍurūnithey be present with me
  99. 99حَتَّىḥattāUntilإِذَاidhāwhenجَاءَjāacomesأَحَدَهُمُaḥadahumu(to) one of themالْمَوْتُl-mawtuthe deathقَالَqālahe saysرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!ارْجِعُونِir'jiʿūniSend me back
  100. 100لَعَلِّيlaʿallīThat I mayأَعْمَلُaʿmaludoصَالِحًاṣāliḥanrighteous (deeds)فِيمَاfīmāin whatتَرَكْتُtaraktuI left behindكَلَّاkallāNoإِنَّهَاinnahāIndeed, itكَلِمَةٌkalimatun(is) a wordهُوَhuwaheقَائِلُهَاqāiluhāspeaks itوَمِنْwaminand before themوَرَائِهِمْwarāihimand before themبَرْزَخٌbarzakhun(is) a barrierإِلَىilātillيَوْمِyawmi(the) Dayيُبْعَثُونَyub'ʿathūnathey are resurrected
  101. 101فَإِذَاfa-idhāSo whenنُفِخَnufikhais blownفِيinالصُّورِl-ṣūrithe trumpetفَلَاfalāthen notأَنْسَابَansāba(there) will be relationshipبَيْنَهُمْbaynahumamong themيَوْمَئِذٍyawma-idhinthat Dayوَلَاwalāand notيَتَسَاءَلُونَyatasāalūnawill they ask each other
  102. 102فَمَنْfamanThen (the one) whoseثَقُلَتْthaqulat(are) heavyمَوَازِينُهُmawāzīnuhuhis scalesفَأُولَئِكَfa-ulāikathen thoseهُمُhumutheyالْمُفْلِحُونَl-muf'liḥūna(are) the successful
  103. 103وَمَنْwamanBut (the one) whoseخَفَّتْkhaffat(are) lightمَوَازِينُهُmawāzīnuhuhis scalesفَأُولَئِكَfa-ulāikathen thoseالَّذِينَalladhīnathey [who]خَسِرُواkhasirūhave lostأَنْفُسَهُمْanfusahumtheir soulsفِيinجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellخَالِدُونَkhālidūnathey (will) abide forever
  104. 104تَلْفَحُtalfaḥuWill burnوُجُوهَهُمُwujūhahumutheir facesالنَّارُl-nāruthe Fireوَهُمْwahumand theyفِيهَاfīhāin itكَالِحُونَkāliḥūna(will) grin with displaced lips
  105. 105أَلَمْalamWere notتَكُنْtakunWere notءَايَاتِيāyātīMy Versesتُتْلَىtut'lārecitedعَلَيْكُمْʿalaykumto youفَكُنْتُمْfakuntumand you used (to)بِهَاbihādeny themتُكَذِّبُونَtukadhibūnadeny them
  106. 106قَالُواqālūThey (will) sayرَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lord!غَلَبَتْghalabatOvercameعَلَيْنَاʿalaynā[on] usشِقْوَتُنَاshiq'watunāour wretchednessوَكُنَّاwakunnāand we wereقَوْمًاqawmana peopleضَالِّينَḍāllīnaastray
  107. 107رَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lord!أَخْرِجْنَاakhrij'nāBring us outمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom itفَإِنْfa-inthen ifعُدْنَاʿud'nāwe returnفَإِنَّاfa-innāthen indeed weظَالِمُونَẓālimūna(would be) wrongdoers
  108. 108قَالَqālaHe (will) sayاخْسَئُواikh'saūRemain despisedفِيهَاfīhāin itوَلَاwalāand (do) notتُكَلِّمُونِtukallimūnispeak to Me
  109. 109إِنَّهُinnahuIndeedكَانَkāna(there) wasفَرِيقٌfarīquna partyمِنْminofعِبَادِيʿibādīMy slavesيَقُولُونَyaqūlūna(who) saidرَبَّنَاrabbanāOur Lord!ءَامَنَّاāmannāWe believeفَاغْفِرْfa-igh'firso forgiveلَنَاlanāusوَارْحَمْنَاwa-ir'ḥamnāand have mercy on usوَأَنْتَwa-antaand Youخَيْرُkhayru(are) bestالرَّاحِمِينَl-rāḥimīna(of) those who show mercy
  110. 110فَاتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْfa-ittakhadhtumūhumBut you took themسِخْرِيًّاsikh'riyyan(in) mockeryحَتَّىḥattāuntilأَنْسَوْكُمْansawkumthey made you forgetذِكْرِيdhik'rīMy remembranceوَكُنْتُمْwakuntumand you used (to)مِنْهُمْmin'humat themتَضْحَكُونَtaḍḥakūnalaugh
  111. 111إِنِّيinnīIndeed Iجَزَيْتُهُمُjazaytuhumuhave rewarded themالْيَوْمَl-yawmathis Dayبِمَاbimābecauseصَبَرُواṣabarūthey were patientأَنَّهُمْannahumindeed theyهُمُhumu[they]الْفَائِزُونَl-fāizūna(are) the successful ones
  112. 112قَالَqālaHe will sayكَمْkamHow longلَبِثْتُمْlabith'tumdid you remainفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthعَدَدَʿadada(in) numberسِنِينَsinīna(of) years
  113. 113قَالُواqālūThey will sayلَبِثْنَاlabith'nāWe remainedيَوْمًاyawmana dayأَوْaworبَعْضَbaʿḍaa partيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a dayفَسْءَلِfasalibut askالْعَادِّينَl-ʿādīnathose who keep count
  114. 114قَالَqālaHe will sayإِنْinNotلَبِثْتُمْlabith'tumyou stayedإِلَّاillābutقَلِيلًاqalīlana littleلَوْlawifأَنَّكُمْannakumonly youكُنْتُمْkuntum[you]تَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknew
  115. 115أَفَحَسِبْتُمْafaḥasib'tumThen did you thinkأَنَّمَاannamāthatخَلَقْنَاكُمْkhalaqnākumWe created youعَبَثًاʿabathanuselesslyوَأَنَّكُمْwa-annakumand that youإِلَيْنَاilaynāto Usلَاnotتُرْجَعُونَtur'jaʿūnawill be returned
  116. 116فَتَعَالَىfataʿālāSo exalted isاللَّهُl-lahuAllahالْمَلِكُl-malikuthe Kingالْحَقُّl-ḥaquthe Truthلَا(There is) noإِلَهَilāhagodإِلَّاillāexceptهُوَhuwaHimرَبُّrabbu(the) Lordالْعَرْشِl-ʿarshi(of) the Throneالْكَرِيمِl-karīmiHonorable
  117. 117وَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverيَدْعُyadʿuinvokesمَعَmaʿawithاللَّهِl-lahiAllahإِلَهًاilāhangodءَاخَرَākharaotherلَاnoبُرْهَانَbur'hānaproofلَهُlahufor himبِهِbihiin itفَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāThen onlyحِسَابُهُḥisābuhuhis accountعِنْدَʿinda(is) withرَبِّهِrabbihihis LordإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed [he]لَاnotيُفْلِحُyuf'liḥuwill succeedالْكَافِرُونَl-kāfirūnathe disbelievers
  118. 118وَقُلْwaqulAnd sayرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!اغْفِرْigh'firForgiveوَارْحَمْwa-ir'ḥamand have mercyوَأَنْتَwa-antaand Youخَيْرُkhayru(are the) Bestالرَّاحِمِينَl-rāḥimīna(of) those who show mercy
