بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 21 — Al-Anbiyaa

  1. 1اقْتَرَبَiq'taraba(Has) approachedلِلنَّاسِlilnnāsifor [the] mankindحِسَابُهُمْḥisābuhumtheir accountوَهُمْwahumwhile theyفِي(are) inغَفْلَةٍghaflatinheedlessnessمُعْرِضُونَmuʿ'riḍūnaturning away
  2. 2مَاNotيَأْتِيهِمْyatīhimcomes to themمِنْminofذِكْرٍdhik'rina Reminderمِنْminfromرَبِّهِمْrabbihimtheir Lordمُحْدَثٍmuḥ'dathinanewإِلَّاillāexceptاسْتَمَعُوهُis'tamaʿūhuthey listen to itوَهُمْwahumwhile theyيَلْعَبُونَyalʿabūna(are at) play
  3. 3لَاهِيَةًlāhiyatanDistractedقُلُوبُهُمْqulūbuhumtheir heartsوَأَسَرُّواwa-asarrūAnd they concealالنَّجْوَىl-najwāthe private conversationالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoظَلَمُواẓalamū[they] wrongedهَلْhalIsهَذَاhādhāthisإِلَّاillāexceptبَشَرٌbasharuna human beingمِثْلُكُمْmith'lukumlike youأَفَتَأْتُونَafatatūnaSo would you approachالسِّحْرَl-siḥ'rathe magicوَأَنْتُمْwa-antumwhile youتُبْصِرُونَtub'ṣirūnasee (it)
  4. 4قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّيrabbīMy Lordيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsالْقَوْلَl-qawlathe wordفِيinالسَّمَاءِl-samāithe heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالسَّمِيعُl-samīʿu(is) the All-Hearerالْعَلِيمُl-ʿalīmuthe All-Knower
  5. 5بَلْbalNayقَالُواqālūthey sayأَضْغَاثُaḍghāthuMuddledأَحْلَامٍaḥlāmindreamsبَلِbalinayافْتَرَاهُif'tarāhuhe (has) invented itبَلْbalnayهُوَhuwaheشَاعِرٌshāʿirun(is) a poetفَلْيَأْتِنَاfalyatināSo let him bring usبِءَايَةٍbiāyatina signكَمَاkamālike whatأُرْسِلَur'silawas sentالْأَوَّلُونَl-awalūna(to) the former
  6. 6مَاNotءَامَنَتْāmanatbelievedقَبْلَهُمْqablahumbefore themمِنْminanyقَرْيَةٍqaryatintownأَهْلَكْنَاهَاahlaknāhāwhich We destroyedأَفَهُمْafahumso will theyيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
  7. 7وَمَاwamāAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentقَبْلَكَqablakabefore youإِلَّاillāexceptرِجَالًاrijālanmenنُوحِيnūḥīWe revealedإِلَيْهِمْilayhimto themفَسْءَلُواfasalūSo askأَهْلَahla(the) peopleالذِّكْرِl-dhik'ri(of) the Reminderإِنْinifكُنْتُمْkuntumyouلَا(do) notتَعْلَمُونَtaʿlamūnaknow
  8. 8وَمَاwamāAnd notجَعَلْنَاهُمْjaʿalnāhumWe made themجَسَدًاjasadanbodiesلَاnotيَأْكُلُونَyakulūnaeatingالطَّعَامَl-ṭaʿāmathe foodوَمَاwamāand notكَانُواkānūthey wereخَالِدِينَkhālidīnaimmortals
  9. 9ثُمَّthummaThenصَدَقْنَاهُمُṣadaqnāhumuWe fulfilled (for) themالْوَعْدَl-waʿdathe promiseفَأَنْجَيْنَاهُمْfa-anjaynāhumand We saved themوَمَنْwamanand whomنَشَاءُnashāuWe willedوَأَهْلَكْنَاwa-ahlaknāand We destroyedالْمُسْرِفِينَl-mus'rifīnathe transgressors
  10. 10لَقَدْlaqadIndeedأَنْزَلْنَاanzalnāWe (have) sent downإِلَيْكُمْilaykumto youكِتَابًاkitābana Bookفِيهِfīhiin itذِكْرُكُمْdhik'rukum(is) your mentionأَفَلَاafalāThen will notتَعْقِلُونَtaʿqilūnayou use reason
  11. 11وَكَمْwakamAnd how manyقَصَمْنَاqaṣamnāWe (have) shatteredمِنْminofقَرْيَةٍqaryatina townكَانَتْkānat(that) wasظَالِمَةًẓālimatanunjustوَأَنْشَأْنَاwa-anshanāand We producedبَعْدَهَاbaʿdahāafter themقَوْمًاqawmananother peopleءَاخَرِينَākharīnaanother people
  12. 12فَلَمَّاfalammāThen whenأَحَسُّواaḥassūthey perceivedبَأْسَنَاbasanāOur tormentإِذَاidhābeholdهُمْhumtheyمِنْهَاmin'hāfrom itيَرْكُضُونَyarkuḍūnawere fleeing
  13. 13لَاFlee notتَرْكُضُواtarkuḍūFlee notوَارْجِعُواwa-ir'jiʿūbut returnإِلَىilātoمَاwhatأُتْرِفْتُمْut'rif'tumyou were given luxuryفِيهِfīhiin itوَمَسَاكِنِكُمْwamasākinikumand to your homesلَعَلَّكُمْlaʿallakumso that you mayتُسْءَلُونَtus'alūnabe questioned
  14. 14قَالُواqālūThey saidيَاوَيْلَنَاyāwaylanāO woe to us!إِنَّاinnāIndeed [we]كُنَّاkunnāwe wereظَالِمِينَẓālimīnawrongdoers
  15. 15فَمَاfamāThen notزَالَتْzālatceasedتِلْكَtil'ka[this]دَعْوَاهُمْdaʿwāhumtheir cryحَتَّىḥattāuntilجَعَلْنَاهُمْjaʿalnāhumWe made themحَصِيدًاḥaṣīdanreapedخَامِدِينَkhāmidīnaextinct
  16. 16وَمَاwamāAnd notخَلَقْنَاkhalaqnāWe createdالسَّمَاءَl-samāathe heavensوَالْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthوَمَاwamāand whatبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā(is) between themلَاعِبِينَlāʿibīna(for) playing
  17. 17لَوْlawIfأَرَدْنَاaradnāWe intendedأَنْanthatنَتَّخِذَnattakhidhaWe takeلَهْوًاlahwana pastimeلَاتَّخَذْنَاهُla-ittakhadhnāhusurely We (could have) taken itمِنْminfromلَدُنَّاladunnāUsإِنْinifكُنَّاkunnāWe wereفَاعِلِينَfāʿilīnadoers
  18. 18بَلْbalNayنَقْذِفُnaqdhifuWe hurlبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqithe truthعَلَىʿalāagainstالْبَاطِلِl-bāṭili[the] falsehoodفَيَدْمَغُهُfayadmaghuhuand it breaks its headفَإِذَاfa-idhābeholdهُوَhuwait (is)زَاهِقٌzāhiqunvanishingوَلَكُمُwalakumuAnd for youالْوَيْلُl-waylu(is) destructionمِمَّاmimmāfor whatتَصِفُونَtaṣifūnayou ascribe
  19. 19وَلَهُwalahuAnd to Him (belongs)مَنْmanwhoeverفِي(is) inالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَمَنْwamanAnd (those) whoعِنْدَهُʿindahu(are) near Himلَاnotيَسْتَكْبِرُونَyastakbirūnathey are arrogantعَنْʿantoعِبَادَتِهِʿibādatihiworship Himوَلَاwalāand notيَسْتَحْسِرُونَyastaḥsirūnathey tire
  20. 20يُسَبِّحُونَyusabbiḥūnaThey glorify (Him)اللَّيْلَal-layla[the] nightوَالنَّهَارَwal-nahāraand [the] dayلَاnotيَفْتُرُونَyafturūnathey slacken
  21. 21أَمِamiOrاتَّخَذُواittakhadhū(have) they takenءَالِهَةًālihatangodsمِنَminafromالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthهُمْhumtheyيُنْشِرُونَyunshirūnaraise (the dead)
  22. 22لَوْlawIfكَانَkāna(there) wereفِيهِمَاfīhimāin both of themءَالِهَةٌālihatungodsإِلَّاillābesidesاللَّهُl-lahuAllahلَفَسَدَتَاlafasadatāsurely they (would) have been ruinedفَسُبْحَانَfasub'ḥānaSo glorifiedاللَّهِl-lahi(is) AllahرَبِّrabbiLordالْعَرْشِl-ʿarshi(of) the Throneعَمَّاʿammā(above) whatيَصِفُونَyaṣifūnathey attribute
  23. 23لَاNotيُسْءَلُyus'aluHe (can) be questionedعَمَّاʿammāabout whatيَفْعَلُyafʿaluHe doesوَهُمْwahumbut theyيُسْءَلُونَyus'alūnawill be questioned
  24. 24أَمِamiOrاتَّخَذُواittakhadhū(have) they takenمِنْminbesides Himدُونِهِdūnihibesides HimءَالِهَةًālihatangodsقُلْqulSayهَاتُواhātūBringبُرْهَانَكُمْbur'hānakumyour proofهَذَاhādhāThisذِكْرُdhik'ru(is) a Reminderمَنْman(for those) whoمَعِيَmaʿiya(are) with meوَذِكْرُwadhik'ruand a Reminderمَنْman(for those) whoقَبْلِيqablī(were) before meبَلْbalButأَكْثَرُهُمْaktharuhummost of themلَا(do) notيَعْلَمُونَyaʿlamūnaknowالْحَقَّl-ḥaqathe truthفَهُمْfahumso theyمُعْرِضُونَmuʿ'riḍūna(are) averse
  25. 25وَمَاwamāAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnāWe sentمِنْminbefore youقَبْلِكَqablikabefore youمِنْminanyرَسُولٍrasūlinMessengerإِلَّاillābutنُوحِيnūḥīWe reveal(ed)إِلَيْهِilayhito himأَنَّهُannahuthat [He]لَا(There is) noإِلَهَilāhagodإِلَّاillāexceptأَنَاanāMeفَاعْبُدُونِfa-uʿ'budūniso worship Me
  26. 26وَقَالُواwaqālūAnd they sayاتَّخَذَittakhadhaHas takenالرَّحْمَنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Graciousوَلَدًاwaladana sonسُبْحَانَهُsub'ḥānahuGlorified is He!بَلْbalNayعِبَادٌʿibādun(they are) slavesمُكْرَمُونَmuk'ramūnahonored
  27. 27لَاNotيَسْبِقُونَهُyasbiqūnahuthey (can) precede Himبِالْقَوْلِbil-qawliin wordوَهُمْwahumand theyبِأَمْرِهِbi-amrihiby His commandيَعْمَلُونَyaʿmalūnaact
  28. 28يَعْلَمُyaʿlamuHe knowsمَاwhatبَيْنَbayna(is) before themأَيْدِيهِمْaydīhim(is) before themوَمَاwamāand whatخَلْفَهُمْkhalfahum(is) behind themوَلَاwalāand notيَشْفَعُونَyashfaʿūnathey (can) intercedeإِلَّاillāexceptلِمَنِlimanifor whomارْتَضَىir'taḍāHe approvesوَهُمْwahumAnd theyمِنْminfromخَشْيَتِهِkhashyatihifear of Himمُشْفِقُونَmush'fiqūnastand in awe
  29. 29وَمَنْwamanAnd whoeverيَقُلْyaqulsaysمِنْهُمْmin'humof themإِنِّيinnīIndeed, I amإِلَهٌilāhuna godمِنْminbesides Himدُونِهِdūnihibesides HimفَذَلِكَfadhālikaThen thatنَجْزِيهِnajzīhiWe will recompenseجَهَنَّمَjahannama(with) HellكَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusنَجْزِيnajzīWe recompenseالظَّالِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
  30. 30أَوَلَمْawalamDo notيَرَyaraseeالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedأَنَّannathatالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضَwal-arḍaand the earthكَانَتَاkānatāwereرَتْقًاratqana joined entityفَفَتَقْنَاهُمَاfafataqnāhumāthen We parted themوَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāand We madeمِنَminafromالْمَاءِl-māi[the] waterكُلَّkullaeveryشَيْءٍshayinliving thingحَيٍّḥayyinliving thingأَفَلَاafalāThen will notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnathey believe
  31. 31وَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāAnd We (have) placedفِيinالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe earthرَوَاسِيَrawāsiyafirmly set mountainsأَنْanlestتَمِيدَtamīdait (should) shakeبِهِمْbihimwith themوَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāand We madeفِيهَاfīhāthereinفِجَاجًاfijājanbroad passesسُبُلًاsubulan(as) waysلَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayيَهْتَدُونَyahtadūna(be) guided
  32. 32وَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāAnd We madeالسَّمَاءَl-samāathe skyسَقْفًاsaqfana roofمَحْفُوظًاmaḥfūẓanprotectedوَهُمْwahumBut theyعَنْʿanfromءَايَاتِهَاāyātihāits Signsمُعْرِضُونَmuʿ'riḍūnaturn away
  33. 33وَهُوَwahuwaAnd Heالَّذِيalladhī(is) the One Whoخَلَقَkhalaqacreatedاللَّيْلَal-laylathe nightوَالنَّهَارَwal-nahāraand the dayوَالشَّمْسَwal-shamsaand the sunوَالْقَمَرَwal-qamaraand the moonكُلٌّkulluneachفِيinفَلَكٍfalakinan orbitيَسْبَحُونَyasbaḥūnafloating
  34. 34وَمَاwamāAnd notجَعَلْنَاjaʿalnāWe madeلِبَشَرٍlibasharinfor any manمِنْminbefore youقَبْلِكَqablikabefore youالْخُلْدَl-khul'da[the] immortalityأَفَإِينْafa-inso ifمِتَّmittayou dieفَهُمُfahumuthen (would) theyالْخَالِدُونَl-khālidūnalive forever
  35. 35كُلُّkulluEveryنَفْسٍnafsinsoulذَائِقَةُdhāiqatu(will) tasteالْمَوْتِl-mawti[the] deathوَنَبْلُوكُمْwanablūkumAnd We test youبِالشَّرِّbil-shariwith [the] badوَالْخَيْرِwal-khayriand [the] goodفِتْنَةًfit'natan(as) a trialوَإِلَيْنَاwa-ilaynāand to Usتُرْجَعُونَtur'jaʿūnayou will be returned
  36. 36وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenرَءَاكَraākayou seeالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveإِنْinnotيَتَّخِذُونَكَyattakhidhūnakathey take youإِلَّاillāexceptهُزُوًاhuzuwan(in) ridiculeأَهَذَاahādhāIs thisالَّذِيalladhīthe one whoيَذْكُرُyadhkurumentionsءَالِهَتَكُمْālihatakumyour godsوَهُمْwahumAnd theyبِذِكْرِbidhik'riat (the) mentionالرَّحْمَنِl-raḥmāni(of) the Most Graciousهُمْhum[they]كَافِرُونَkāfirūna(are) disbelievers
  37. 37خُلِقَkhuliqaIs createdالْإِنْسَانُl-insānuthe manمِنْminofعَجَلٍʿajalinhasteسَأُورِيكُمْsa-urīkumI will show youءَايَاتِيāyātīMy Signsفَلَاfalāso (do) notتَسْتَعْجِلُونِtastaʿjilūniask Me to hasten
  38. 38وَيَقُولُونَwayaqūlūnaAnd they sayمَتَىmatāWhen (will be fulfilled)هَذَاhādhāthisالْوَعْدُl-waʿdupromiseإِنْinifكُنْتُمْkuntumyou areصَادِقِينَṣādiqīnatruthful
  39. 39لَوْlawIfيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknewالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedحِينَḥīna(the) timeلَا(when) notيَكُفُّونَyakuffūnathey will avertعَنْʿanfromوُجُوهِهِمُwujūhihimutheir facesالنَّارَl-nārathe Fireوَلَاwalāand notعَنْʿanfromظُهُورِهِمْẓuhūrihimtheir backsوَلَاwalāand notهُمْhumtheyيُنْصَرُونَyunṣarūnawill be helped!
  40. 40بَلْbalNayتَأْتِيهِمْtatīhimit will come to themبَغْتَةًbaghtatanunexpectedlyفَتَبْهَتُهُمْfatabhatuhumand bewilder themفَلَاfalāthen notيَسْتَطِيعُونَyastaṭīʿūnathey will be ableرَدَّهَاraddahāto repel itوَلَاwalāand notهُمْhumtheyيُنْظَرُونَyunẓarūnawill be given respite
  41. 41وَلَقَدِwalaqadiAnd verilyاسْتُهْزِئَus'tuh'zi-awere mockedبِرُسُلٍbirusulinMessengersمِنْminbefore youقَبْلِكَqablikabefore youفَحَاقَfaḥāqathen surroundedبِالَّذِينَbi-alladhīnathose whoسَخِرُواsakhirūmockedمِنْهُمْmin'humfrom themمَاwhatكَانُواkānūthey usedبِهِbihiat itيَسْتَهْزِءُونَyastahziūna(to) mock
  42. 42قُلْqulSayمَنْmanWhoيَكْلَؤُكُمْyakla-ukum(can) protect youبِاللَّيْلِbi-al-layliin the nightوَالنَّهَارِwal-nahāriand the dayمِنَminafromالرَّحْمَنِl-raḥmānithe Most GraciousبَلْbalYetهُمْhumtheyعَنْʿanfromذِكْرِdhik'ri(the) remembranceرَبِّهِمْrabbihim(of) their Lordمُعْرِضُونَmuʿ'riḍūnaturn away
  43. 43أَمْamOrلَهُمْlahumhave theyءَالِهَةٌālihatungodsتَمْنَعُهُمْtamnaʿuhum(to) defend themمِنْminfromدُونِنَاdūnināUsلَاNotيَسْتَطِيعُونَyastaṭīʿūnathey are ableنَصْرَnaṣra(to) helpأَنْفُسِهِمْanfusihimthemselvesوَلَاwalāand notهُمْhumtheyمِنَّاminnāfrom Usيُصْحَبُونَyuṣ'ḥabūnacan be protected
  44. 44بَلْbalNayمَتَّعْنَاmattaʿnāWe gave provisionهَؤُلَاءِhāulāi(to) theseوَءَابَاءَهُمْwaābāahumand their fathersحَتَّىḥattāuntilطَالَṭālagrew longعَلَيْهِمُʿalayhimufor themالْعُمُرُl-ʿumuruthe lifeأَفَلَاafalāThen do notيَرَوْنَyarawnathey seeأَنَّاannāthat WeنَأْتِيnatīWe comeالْأَرْضَl-arḍa(to) the landنَنْقُصُهَاnanquṣuhāWe reduce itمِنْminfromأَطْرَافِهَاaṭrāfihāits bordersأَفَهُمُafahumuSo is (it) theyالْغَالِبُونَl-ghālibūna(who will be) overcoming
  45. 45قُلْqulSayإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyأُنْذِرُكُمْundhirukumI warn youبِالْوَحْيِbil-waḥyiby the revelationوَلَاwalāBut notيَسْمَعُyasmaʿuhearالصُّمُّl-ṣumuthe deafالدُّعَاءَl-duʿāathe callإِذَاidhāwhenمَاwhenيُنْذَرُونَyundharūnathey are warned
  46. 46وَلَئِنْwala-inAnd ifمَسَّتْهُمْmassathumtouches themنَفْحَةٌnafḥatuna whiffمِنْminofعَذَابِʿadhābi(the) punishmentرَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lordلَيَقُولُنَّlayaqūlunnasurely they will sayيَاوَيْلَنَاyāwaylanāO woe to us!إِنَّاinnāIndeed weكُنَّاkunnā[we] wereظَالِمِينَẓālimīnawrongdoers
  47. 47وَنَضَعُwanaḍaʿuAnd We setالْمَوَازِينَl-mawāzīnathe scalesالْقِسْطَl-qis'ṭa(of) the justiceلِيَوْمِliyawmifor (the) Dayالْقِيَامَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionفَلَاfalāso notتُظْلَمُtuẓ'lamuwill be wrongedنَفْسٌnafsunany soulشَيْئًاshayan(in) anythingوَإِنْwa-inAnd ifكَانَkāna(there) beمِثْقَالَmith'qālaweightحَبَّةٍḥabbatin(of) a seedمِنْminofخَرْدَلٍkhardalina mustardأَتَيْنَاataynāWe will bringبِهَاbihā[with] itوَكَفَىwakafāAnd sufficientبِنَاbinā(are) Weحَاسِبِينَḥāsibīna(as) Reckoners
  48. 48وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyءَاتَيْنَاātaynāWe gaveمُوسَىmūsāMusaوَهَارُونَwahārūnaand Harunالْفُرْقَانَl-fur'qānathe Criterionوَضِيَاءًwaḍiyāanand a lightوَذِكْرًاwadhik'ranand a Reminderلِلْمُتَّقِينَlil'muttaqīnafor the righteous
  49. 49الَّذِينَalladhīnaThose whoيَخْشَوْنَyakhshawnafearرَبَّهُمْrabbahumtheir Lordبِالْغَيْبِbil-ghaybiin the unseenوَهُمْwahumand theyمِنَminaofالسَّاعَةِl-sāʿatithe Hourمُشْفِقُونَmush'fiqūna(are) afraid
  50. 50وَهَذَاwahādhāAnd thisذِكْرٌdhik'run(is) a Reminderمُبَارَكٌmubārakunblessedأَنْزَلْنَاهُanzalnāhuwhich We (have) revealedأَفَأَنْتُمْafa-antumThen are youلَهُlahuof itمُنْكِرُونَmunkirūnarejecters
  51. 51وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyءَاتَيْنَاātaynāWe gaveإِبْرَاهِيمَib'rāhīmaIbrahimرُشْدَهُrush'dahuhis guidanceمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeوَكُنَّاwakunnāand We wereبِهِbihiabout himعَالِمِينَʿālimīnaWell-Knowing
  52. 52إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālahe saidلِأَبِيهِli-abīhito his fatherوَقَوْمِهِwaqawmihiand his peopleمَاWhatهَذِهِhādhihi(are) theseالتَّمَاثِيلُl-tamāthīlu[the] statuesالَّتِيallatīwhichأَنْتُمْantumyouلَهَاlahāto itعَاكِفُونَʿākifūna(are) devoted
  53. 53قَالُواqālūThey saidوَجَدْنَاwajadnāWe foundءَابَاءَنَاābāanāour forefathersلَهَاlahāof themعَابِدِينَʿābidīnaworshippers
  54. 54قَالَqālaHe saidلَقَدْlaqadVerilyكُنْتُمْkuntumyou areأَنْتُمْantum[you]وَءَابَاؤُكُمْwaābāukumand your forefathersفِي(were) inضَلَالٍḍalālinan errorمُبِينٍmubīninmanifest

  56. 56قَالَqālaHe saidبَلْbalNayرَبُّكُمْrabbukumyour Lordرَبُّrabbu(is the) Lordالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthالَّذِيalladhīthe One Whoفَطَرَهُنَّfaṭarahunnacreated themوَأَنَاwa-anāand I amعَلَىʿalātoذَلِكُمْdhālikumthatمِنَminaofالشَّاهِدِينَl-shāhidīnathe witnesses
  57. 57وَتَاللَّهِwatal-lahiAnd by Allahلَأَكِيدَنَّla-akīdannasurely I will planأَصْنَامَكُمْaṣnāmakum(against) your idolsبَعْدَbaʿdaafterأَنْan[that]تُوَلُّواtuwallūyou go awayمُدْبِرِينَmud'birīnaturning (your) backs
  58. 58فَجَعَلَهُمْfajaʿalahumSo he made themجُذَاذًاjudhādhan(into) piecesإِلَّاillāexceptكَبِيرًاkabīrana large (one)لَهُمْlahumof themلَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayإِلَيْهِilayhito itيَرْجِعُونَyarjiʿūnareturn
  59. 59قَالُواqālūThey saidمَنْmanWhoفَعَلَfaʿala(has) doneهَذَاhādhāthisبِءَالِهَتِنَاbiālihatināto our godsإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heلَمِنَlamina(is) ofالظَّالِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
  60. 60قَالُواqālūThey saidسَمِعْنَاsamiʿ'nāWe heardفَتًىfatana youthيَذْكُرُهُمْyadhkuruhummention themيُقَالُyuqāluhe is calledلَهُlahuhe is calledإِبْرَاهِيمُib'rāhīmuIbrahim
  61. 61قَالُواqālūThey saidفَأْتُواfatūThen bringبِهِbihihimعَلَىʿalābeforeأَعْيُنِaʿyuni(the) eyesالنَّاسِl-nāsi(of) the peopleلَعَلَّهُمْlaʿallahumso that they mayيَشْهَدُونَyashhadūnabear witness
  62. 62قَالُواqālūThey saidءَأَنْتَa-antaHave youفَعَلْتَfaʿaltadoneهَذَاhādhāthisبِءَالِهَتِنَاbiālihatināto our godsيَاإِبْرَاهِيمُyāib'rāhīmuO Ibrahim
  63. 63قَالَqālaHe saidبَلْbalNayفَعَلَهُfaʿalahu(some doer) did itكَبِيرُهُمْkabīruhumTheir chiefهَذَاhādhā(is) thisفَسْءَلُوهُمْfasalūhumSo ask themإِنْinifكَانُواkānūthey (can)يَنْطِقُونَyanṭiqūnaspeak
  64. 64فَرَجَعُواfarajaʿūSo they returnedإِلَىilātoأَنْفُسِهِمْanfusihimthemselvesفَقَالُواfaqālūand saidإِنَّكُمْinnakumIndeed youأَنْتُمُantumu[you]الظَّالِمُونَl-ẓālimūna(are) the wrongdoers
  65. 65ثُمَّthummaThenنُكِسُواnukisūthey were turnedعَلَىʿalāonرُءُوسِهِمْruūsihimtheir headsلَقَدْlaqadVerilyعَلِمْتَʿalim'tayou knowمَاnotهَؤُلَاءِhāulāitheseيَنْطِقُونَyanṭiqūna(can) speak!
  66. 66قَالَqālaHe saidأَفَتَعْبُدُونَafataʿbudūnaThen do you worshipمِنْminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesاللَّهِl-lahiAllahمَاwhatلَا(does) notيَنْفَعُكُمْyanfaʿukumbenefit youشَيْئًاshayan(in) anythingوَلَاwalāand notيَضُرُّكُمْyaḍurrukumharms you
  67. 67أُفٍّuffinUffلَكُمْlakumto youوَلِمَاwalimāand to whatتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūnayou worshipمِنْminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesاللَّهِl-lahiAllahأَفَلَاafalāThen will notتَعْقِلُونَtaʿqilūnayou use reason
  68. 68قَالُواqālūThey saidحَرِّقُوهُḥarriqūhuBurn himوَانْصُرُواwa-unṣurūand supportءَالِهَتَكُمْālihatakumyour godsإِنْinifكُنْتُمْkuntumyou areفَاعِلِينَfāʿilīnadoers
  69. 69قُلْنَاqul'nāWe saidيَانَارُyānāruO fire!كُونِيkūnīBeبَرْدًاbardancool[ness]وَسَلَامًاwasalāmanand safe[ty]عَلَىʿalāforإِبْرَاهِيمَib'rāhīmaIbrahim
  70. 70وَأَرَادُواwa-arādūAnd they intendedبِهِbihifor himكَيْدًاkaydana planفَجَعَلْنَاهُمُfajaʿalnāhumubut We made themالْأَخْسَرِينَl-akhsarīnathe greatest losers
  71. 71وَنَجَّيْنَاهُwanajjaynāhuAnd We delivered himوَلُوطًاwalūṭanand Lutإِلَىilātoالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe landالَّتِيallatīwhichبَارَكْنَاbāraknāWe (had) blessedفِيهَاfīhā[in it]لِلْعَالَمِينَlil'ʿālamīnafor the worlds
  72. 72وَوَهَبْنَاwawahabnāAnd We bestowedلَهُlahuon himإِسْحَاقَis'ḥāqaIshaqوَيَعْقُوبَwayaʿqūbaand Yaqubنَافِلَةًnāfilatan(in) additionوَكُلًّاwakullanand allجَعَلْنَاjaʿalnāWe madeصَالِحِينَṣāliḥīnarighteous
  73. 73وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْwajaʿalnāhumAnd We made themأَئِمَّةًa-immatanleadersيَهْدُونَyahdūnathey guideبِأَمْرِنَاbi-amrināby Our Commandوَأَوْحَيْنَاwa-awḥaynāAnd We inspiredإِلَيْهِمْilayhimto themفِعْلَfiʿ'la(the) doingالْخَيْرَاتِl-khayrāti(of) good deedsوَإِقَامَwa-iqāmaand establishmentالصَّلَوةِl-ṣalati(of) the prayerوَإِيتَاءَwaītāaand givingالزَّكَوةِl-zakati(of) zakahوَكَانُواwakānūand they wereلَنَاlanāof Usعَابِدِينَʿābidīnaworshippers
  74. 74وَلُوطًاwalūṭanAnd (to) LutءَاتَيْنَاهُātaynāhuWe gave himحُكْمًاḥuk'manjudgmentوَعِلْمًاwaʿil'manand knowledgeوَنَجَّيْنَاهُwanajjaynāhuand We saved himمِنَminafromالْقَرْيَةِl-qaryatithe townالَّتِيallatīwhichكَانَتْkānatwasتَعْمَلُtaʿmaludoingالْخَبَائِثَl-khabāithawicked deedsإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed theyكَانُواkānūwereقَوْمَqawmaa peopleسَوْءٍsawinevilفَاسِقِينَfāsiqīnadefiantly disobedient
  75. 75وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُwa-adkhalnāhuAnd We admitted himفِيintoرَحْمَتِنَاraḥmatināOur MercyإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heمِنَmina(was) ofالصَّالِحِينَl-ṣāliḥīnathe righteous
  76. 76وَنُوحًاwanūḥanAnd Nuhإِذْidhwhenنَادَىnādāhe calledمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeفَاسْتَجَبْنَاfa-is'tajabnāso We respondedلَهُlahuto himفَنَجَّيْنَاهُfanajjaynāhuand We saved himوَأَهْلَهُwa-ahlahuand his familyمِنَminafromالْكَرْبِl-karbithe afflictionالْعَظِيمِl-ʿaẓīmi[the] great
  77. 77وَنَصَرْنَاهُwanaṣarnāhuAnd We helped himمِنَminafromالْقَوْمِl-qawmithe peopleالَّذِينَalladhīnawhoكَذَّبُواkadhabūdeniedبِءَايَاتِنَاbiāyātināOur SignsإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed theyكَانُواkānūwereقَوْمَqawmaa peopleسَوْءٍsawinevilفَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْfa-aghraqnāhumso We drowned themأَجْمَعِينَajmaʿīnaall
  78. 78وَدَاوُدَwadāwūdaAnd Dawudوَسُلَيْمَانَwasulaymānaand Sulaimanإِذْidhwhenيَحْكُمَانِyaḥkumānithey judgedفِيconcerningالْحَرْثِl-ḥarthithe fieldإِذْidhwhenنَفَشَتْnafashatpasturedفِيهِfīhiin itغَنَمُghanamusheepالْقَوْمِl-qawmi(of) a peopleوَكُنَّاwakunnāand We wereلِحُكْمِهِمْliḥuk'mihimto their judgmentشَاهِدِينَshāhidīnawitness
  79. 79فَفَهَّمْنَاهَاfafahhamnāhāAnd We gave understanding of itسُلَيْمَانَsulaymāna(to) Sulaimanوَكُلًّاwakullanand (to) eachءَاتَيْنَاātaynāWe gaveحُكْمًاḥuk'manjudgmentوَعِلْمًاwaʿil'manand knowledgeوَسَخَّرْنَاwasakharnāAnd We subjectedمَعَmaʿawithدَاوُدَdāwūdaDawudالْجِبَالَl-jibālathe mountainsيُسَبِّحْنَyusabbiḥ'na(to) glorify Our praisesوَالطَّيْرَwal-ṭayraand the birdsوَكُنَّاwakunnāAnd We wereفَاعِلِينَfāʿilīnathe Doers
  80. 80وَعَلَّمْنَاهُwaʿallamnāhuAnd We taught himصَنْعَةَṣanʿata(the) makingلَبُوسٍlabūsin(of) coats of armorلَكُمْlakumfor youلِتُحْصِنَكُمْlituḥ'ṣinakumto protect youمِنْminfromبَأْسِكُمْbasikumyour battleفَهَلْfahalThen willأَنْتُمْantumyouشَاكِرُونَshākirūna(be) grateful
  81. 81وَلِسُلَيْمَانَwalisulaymānaAnd to Sulaimanالرِّيحَl-rīḥathe windعَاصِفَةًʿāṣifatanforcefullyتَجْرِيtajrīblowingبِأَمْرِهِbi-amrihiby his commandإِلَىilātoالْأَرْضِl-arḍithe landالَّتِيallatīwhichبَارَكْنَاbāraknāWe blessedفِيهَاfīhā[in it]وَكُنَّاwakunnāAnd We areبِكُلِّbikulliof everyشَيْءٍshayinthingعَالِمِينَʿālimīnaKnowers
  82. 82وَمِنَwaminaAnd ofالشَّيَاطِينِl-shayāṭīnithe devilsمَنْman(were some) whoيَغُوصُونَyaghūṣūnawould diveلَهُlahufor himوَيَعْمَلُونَwayaʿmalūnaand would doعَمَلًاʿamalanworkدُونَdūnaother thanذَلِكَdhālikathatوَكُنَّاwakunnāAnd We wereلَهُمْlahumof themحَافِظِينَḥāfiẓīnaGuardians
  83. 83وَأَيُّوبَwa-ayyūbaAnd Ayubإِذْidhwhenنَادَىnādāhe calledرَبَّهُrabbahu(to) his LordأَنِّيannīIndeed [I]مَسَّنِيَmassaniyahas touched meالضُّرُّl-ḍuruthe adversityوَأَنْتَwa-antaand Youأَرْحَمُarḥamu(are) Most Mercifulالرَّاحِمِينَl-rāḥimīna(of) the Merciful
  84. 84فَاسْتَجَبْنَاfa-is'tajabnāSo We respondedلَهُlahuto himفَكَشَفْنَاfakashafnāand We removedمَاwhatبِهِbihi(was) on himمِنْminofضُرٍّḍurrin(the) adversityوَءَاتَيْنَاهُwaātaynāhuAnd We gave himأَهْلَهُahlahuhis familyوَمِثْلَهُمْwamith'lahumand (the) like thereofمَعَهُمْmaʿahumwith themرَحْمَةًraḥmatan(as) Mercyمِنْminfrom Ourselvesعِنْدِنَاʿindināfrom Ourselvesوَذِكْرَىwadhik'rāand a reminderلِلْعَابِدِينَlil'ʿābidīnafor the worshippers
  85. 85وَإِسْمَاعِيلَwa-is'māʿīlaAnd Ismailوَإِدْرِيسَwa-id'rīsaand Idrisوَذَاwadhāand Dhul-Kiflالْكِفْلِl-kif'liand Dhul-Kiflكُلٌّkullunallمِنَmina(were) ofالصَّابِرِينَl-ṣābirīnathe patient ones
  86. 86وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُمْwa-adkhalnāhumAnd We admitted themفِيinرَحْمَتِنَاraḥmatināOur MercyإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed theyمِنَmina(were) ofالصَّالِحِينَl-ṣāliḥīnathe righteous
  87. 87وَذَاwadhāAnd Dhun-Nunالنُّونِl-nūniAnd Dhun-Nunإِذْidhwhenذَهَبَdhahabahe wentمُغَاضِبًاmughāḍiban(while) angryفَظَنَّfaẓannaand thoughtأَنْanthatلَنْlanneverنَقْدِرَnaqdiraWe would decreeعَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon himفَنَادَىfanādāThen he calledفِيinالظُّلُمَاتِl-ẓulumātithe darkness(es)أَنْanthatلَا(There is) noإِلَهَilāhagodإِلَّاillāexceptأَنْتَantaYouسُبْحَانَكَsub'ḥānakaGlory be to YouإِنِّيinnīIndeed, [I]كُنْتُkuntuI amمِنَminaofالظَّالِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoers
  88. 88فَاسْتَجَبْنَاfa-is'tajabnāSo We respondedلَهُlahuto himوَنَجَّيْنَاهُwanajjaynāhuand We saved himمِنَminafromالْغَمِّl-ghamithe distressوَكَذَلِكَwakadhālikaAnd thusنُنْجِيnunjīWe saveالْمُؤْمِنِينَl-mu'minīnathe believers
  89. 89وَزَكَرِيَّاwazakariyyāAnd Zakariyaإِذْidhwhenنَادَىnādāhe calledرَبَّهُrabbahu(to) his LordرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!لَا(Do) notتَذَرْنِيtadharnīleave meفَرْدًاfardanaloneوَأَنْتَwa-antawhile Youخَيْرُkhayru(are) [the] Bestالْوَارِثِينَl-wārithīna(of) the inheritors
  90. 90فَاسْتَجَبْنَاfa-is'tajabnāSo We respondedلَهُlahuto himوَوَهَبْنَاwawahabnāand We bestowedلَهُlahuon himيَحْيَىyaḥyāYahyaوَأَصْلَحْنَاwa-aṣlaḥnāand We curedلَهُlahufor himزَوْجَهُzawjahuhis wifeإِنَّهُمْinnahumIndeed theyكَانُواkānūused (to)يُسَارِعُونَyusāriʿūnahastenفِيinالْخَيْرَاتِl-khayrātigood deedsوَيَدْعُونَنَاwayadʿūnanāand they supplicate to Usرَغَبًاraghaban(in) hopeوَرَهَبًاwarahabanand fearوَكَانُواwakānūand they wereلَنَاlanāto Usخَاشِعِينَkhāshiʿīnahumbly submissive
  91. 91وَالَّتِيwa-allatīAnd she whoأَحْصَنَتْaḥṣanatguardedفَرْجَهَاfarjahāher chastityفَنَفَخْنَاfanafakhnāso We breathedفِيهَاfīhāinto herمِنْminofرُوحِنَاrūḥināOur Spiritوَجَعَلْنَاهَاwajaʿalnāhāand We made herوَابْنَهَاwa-ib'nahāand her sonءَايَةًāyatana signلِلْعَالَمِينَlil'ʿālamīnafor the worlds
  92. 92إِنَّinnaIndeedهَذِهِhādhihithisأُمَّتُكُمْummatukum(is) your religionأُمَّةًummatanreligionوَاحِدَةًwāḥidatanoneوَأَنَاwa-anāand I Amرَبُّكُمْrabbukumyour Lordفَاعْبُدُونِfa-uʿ'budūniso worship Me
  93. 93وَتَقَطَّعُواwataqaṭṭaʿūBut they cut offأَمْرَهُمْamrahumtheir affairبَيْنَهُمْbaynahumamong themselvesكُلٌّkullunallإِلَيْنَاilaynāto Usرَاجِعُونَrājiʿūna(will) return
  94. 94فَمَنْfamanThen whoeverيَعْمَلْyaʿmaldoesمِنَmina[of]الصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥāti[the] righteous deedsوَهُوَwahuwawhile heمُؤْمِنٌmu'minun(is) a believerفَلَاfalāthen notكُفْرَانَkuf'rāna(will be) rejectedلِسَعْيِهِlisaʿyihi[of] his effortوَإِنَّاwa-innāAnd indeed Weلَهُlahuof itكَاتِبُونَkātibūna(are) Recorders
  95. 95وَحَرَامٌwaḥarāmunAnd (there is) prohibitionعَلَىʿalāuponقَرْيَةٍqaryatina cityأَهْلَكْنَاهَاahlaknāhāwhich We have destroyedأَنَّهُمْannahumthat theyلَاnotيَرْجِعُونَyarjiʿūnawill return
  96. 96حَتَّىḥattāUntilإِذَاidhāwhenفُتِحَتْfutiḥathas been openedيَأْجُوجُyajūju(for) the Yajujوَمَأْجُوجُwamajūjuand Majujوَهُمْwahumand theyمِنْminfromكُلِّkullieveryحَدَبٍḥadabinelevationيَنْسِلُونَyansilūnadescend
  97. 97وَاقْتَرَبَwa-iq'tarabaAnd has approachedالْوَعْدُl-waʿduthe promiseالْحَقُّl-ḥaqu[the] trueفَإِذَاfa-idhāthen beholdهِيَhiya[it]شَاخِصَةٌshākhiṣatun(are) staringأَبْصَارُabṣāru(the) eyesالَّذِينَalladhīna(of) those whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedيَاوَيْلَنَاyāwaylanāO woe to us!قَدْqadVerilyكُنَّاkunnāwe had beenفِيinغَفْلَةٍghaflatinheedlessnessمِنْminofهَذَاhādhāthisبَلْbalnayكُنَّاkunnāwe wereظَالِمِينَẓālimīnawrongdoers
  98. 98إِنَّكُمْinnakumIndeed, youوَمَاwamāand whatتَعْبُدُونَtaʿbudūnayou worshipمِنْminbesides Allahدُونِdūnibesides Allahاللَّهِl-lahibesides Allahحَصَبُḥaṣabu(are) firewoodجَهَنَّمَjahannama(of) HellأَنْتُمْantumYouلَهَاlahāto itوَارِدُونَwāridūnawill come
  99. 99لَوْlawIfكَانَkānawereهَؤُلَاءِhāulāitheseءَالِهَةًālihatangodsمَاnotوَرَدُوهَاwaradūhāthey (would) have come to itوَكُلٌّwakullunAnd allفِيهَاfīhāthereinخَالِدُونَkhālidūnawill abide forever
  100. 100لَهُمْlahumFor themفِيهَاfīhāthereinزَفِيرٌzafīrun(is) sighingوَهُمْwahumand theyفِيهَاfīhāthereinلَاnotيَسْمَعُونَyasmaʿūnawill hear
  101. 101إِنَّinnaIndeedالَّذِينَalladhīnathoseسَبَقَتْsabaqathas gone forthلَهُمْlahumfor themمِنَّاminnāfrom Usالْحُسْنَىl-ḥus'nāthe goodأُولَئِكَulāikathoseعَنْهَاʿanhāfrom itمُبْعَدُونَmub'ʿadūna(will be) removed far
  102. 102لَاNotيَسْمَعُونَyasmaʿūnathey will hearحَسِيسَهَاḥasīsahā(the) slightest sound of itوَهُمْwahumand theyفِيinمَاwhatاشْتَهَتْish'tahatdesireأَنْفُسُهُمْanfusuhumtheir soulsخَالِدُونَkhālidūnawill abide forever
  103. 103لَاNotيَحْزُنُهُمُyaḥzunuhumuwill grieve themالْفَزَعُl-fazaʿuthe terrorالْأَكْبَرُl-akbaru[the] greatestوَتَتَلَقَّاهُمُwatatalaqqāhumuand will meet themالْمَلَائِكَةُl-malāikatuthe AngelsهَذَاhādhāThisيَوْمُكُمُyawmukumu(is) your Dayالَّذِيalladhīwhichكُنْتُمْkuntumyou wereتُوعَدُونَtūʿadūnapromised
  104. 104يَوْمَyawma(The) DayنَطْوِيnaṭwīWe will foldالسَّمَاءَl-samāathe heavenكَطَيِّkaṭayyilike (the) foldingالسِّجِلِّl-sijili(of) a scrollلِلْكُتُبِlil'kutubifor recordsكَمَاkamāAsبَدَأْنَاbadanāWe beganأَوَّلَawwala(the) firstخَلْقٍkhalqincreationنُعِيدُهُnuʿīduhuWe will repeat itوَعْدًاwaʿdana promiseعَلَيْنَاʿalaynāupon UsإِنَّاinnāIndeed WeكُنَّاkunnāWe areفَاعِلِينَfāʿilīna(the) Doers
  105. 105وَلَقَدْwalaqadAnd verilyكَتَبْنَاkatabnāWe have writtenفِيinالزَّبُورِl-zabūrithe Scriptureمِنْminafterبَعْدِbaʿdiafterالذِّكْرِl-dhik'rithe mentionأَنَّannathatالْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earthيَرِثُهَاyarithuhāwill inherit itعِبَادِيَʿibādiyaMy slavesالصَّالِحُونَl-ṣāliḥūnathe righteous
  106. 106إِنَّinnaIndeedفِيinهَذَاhādhāthisلَبَلَاغًاlabalāghansurely is a Messageلِقَوْمٍliqawminfor a peopleعَابِدِينَʿābidīnaworshippers
  107. 107وَمَاwamāAnd notأَرْسَلْنَاكَarsalnākaWe have sent youإِلَّاillābutرَحْمَةًraḥmatan(as) a mercyلِلْعَالَمِينَlil'ʿālamīnafor the worlds
  108. 108قُلْqulSayإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyيُوحَىyūḥāit is revealedإِلَيَّilayyato meأَنَّمَاannamāthatإِلَهُكُمْilāhukumyour godإِلَهٌilāhun(is) GodوَاحِدٌwāḥidunOneفَهَلْfahalso willأَنْتُمْantumyouمُسْلِمُونَmus'limūnasubmit (to Him)
  109. 109فَإِنْfa-inBut ifتَوَلَّوْاtawallawthey turn awayفَقُلْfaqulthen sayءَاذَنْتُكُمْādhantukumI (have) announced to youعَلَىʿalāequallyسَوَاءٍsawāinequallyوَإِنْwa-inAnd notأَدْرِيadrīI knowأَقَرِيبٌaqarībunwhether is nearأَمْamorبَعِيدٌbaʿīdunfarمَاwhatتُوعَدُونَtūʿadūnayou are promised
  110. 110إِنَّهُinnahuIndeed Heيَعْلَمُyaʿlamuknowsالْجَهْرَl-jahrathe declaredمِنَmina[of]الْقَوْلِl-qawli[the] speechوَيَعْلَمُwayaʿlamuand He knowsمَاwhatتَكْتُمُونَtaktumūnayou conceal
  111. 111وَإِنْwa-inAnd notأَدْرِيadrīI knowلَعَلَّهُlaʿallahuperhaps it may beفِتْنَةٌfit'natuna trialلَكُمْlakumfor youوَمَتَاعٌwamatāʿunand an enjoymentإِلَىilāforحِينٍḥīnina time
  112. 112قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!احْكُمْuḥ'kumjudgeبِالْحَقِّbil-ḥaqiin truthوَرَبُّنَاwarabbunāAnd our Lordالرَّحْمَنُl-raḥmānu(is) the Most Graciousالْمُسْتَعَانُl-mus'taʿānuthe One Whose help is soughtعَلَىʿalāagainstمَاwhatتَصِفُونَtaṣifūnayou attribute
