بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Surah 19 — Maryam

  1. 1كٓهيعٓصٓkaf-ha-ya-ain-sadKaaf Ha Ya Ain Sad
  2. 2ذِكْرُdhik'ru(A) mentionرَحْمَتِraḥmati(of the) Mercyرَبِّكَrabbika(of) your Lordعَبْدَهُʿabdahu(to) His servantزَكَرِيَّاzakariyyāZakariya
  3. 3إِذْidhWhenنَادَىnādāhe calledرَبَّهُrabbahu(to) his Lordنِدَاءًnidāana callخَفِيًّاkhafiyyansecret
  4. 4قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy LordإِنِّيinnīIndeed, [I]وَهَنَwahana(have) weakenedالْعَظْمُl-ʿaẓmumy bonesمِنِّيminnīmy bonesوَاشْتَعَلَwa-ish'taʿalaand flaredالرَّأْسُl-rasu(my) headشَيْبًاshayban(with) whiteوَلَمْwalamand notأَكُنْakunI have beenبِدُعَائِكَbiduʿāikain (my) supplication (to) Youرَبِّrabbimy Lordشَقِيًّاshaqiyyanunblessed
  5. 5وَإِنِّيwa-innīAnd indeed, Iخِفْتُkhif'tu[I] fearالْمَوَالِيَl-mawāliyathe successorsمِنْminafter meوَرَاءِيwarāīafter meوَكَانَتِwakānatiand isامْرَأَتِيim'ra-atīmy wifeعَاقِرًاʿāqiranbarrenفَهَبْfahabSo giveلِي[to] meمِنْminfromلَدُنْكَladunkaYourselfوَلِيًّاwaliyyanan heir
  6. 6يَرِثُنِيyarithunīWho will inherit meوَيَرِثُwayarithuand inheritمِنْminfromءَالِāli(the) familyيَعْقُوبَyaʿqūba(of) Yaqubوَاجْعَلْهُwa-ij'ʿalhuAnd make himرَبِّrabbimy Lordرَضِيًّاraḍiyyanpleasing
  7. 7يَازَكَرِيَّاyāzakariyyāO ZakariyaإِنَّاinnāIndeed, Weنُبَشِّرُكَnubashiruka[We] give you glad tidingsبِغُلَامٍbighulāminof a boyاسْمُهُus'muhuhis nameيَحْيَىyaḥyā(will be) YahyaلَمْlamnotنَجْعَلْnajʿalWe (have) assignedلَهُlahu[for] itمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeسَمِيًّاsamiyyan(this) name
  8. 8قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!أَنَّىannāHowيَكُونُyakūnucanلِيI haveغُلَامٌghulāmuna boyوَكَانَتِwakānatiwhile isامْرَأَتِيim'ra-atīmy wifeعَاقِرًاʿāqiranbarrenوَقَدْwaqadand indeedبَلَغْتُbalaghtuI have reachedمِنَminaofالْكِبَرِl-kibarithe old ageعِتِيًّاʿitiyyanextreme
  9. 9قَالَqālaHe saidكَذَلِكَkadhālikaThusقَالَqālasaidرَبُّكَrabbukayour LordهُوَhuwaItعَلَيَّʿalayya(is) easy for Meهَيِّنٌhayyinun(is) easy for Meوَقَدْwaqadand certainlyخَلَقْتُكَkhalaqtukaI (have) created youمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeوَلَمْwalamwhile notتَكُtakuyou wereشَيْئًاshayananything
  10. 10قَالَqālaHe saidرَبِّrabbiMy Lord!اجْعَلْij'ʿalMakeلِيfor meءَايَةًāyatana signقَالَqālaHe saidءَايَتُكَāyatukaYour signأَلَّاallā(is) that notتُكَلِّمَtukallimayou will speakالنَّاسَl-nāsa(to) the peopleثَلَاثَthalātha(for) threeلَيَالٍlayālinnightsسَوِيًّاsawiyyansound
  11. 11فَخَرَجَfakharajaThen he came outعَلَىʿalātoقَوْمِهِqawmihihis peopleمِنَminafromالْمِحْرَابِl-miḥ'rābithe prayer chamberفَأَوْحَىfa-awḥāand he signaledإِلَيْهِمْilayhimto themأَنْantoسَبِّحُواsabbiḥūglorify (Allah)بُكْرَةًbuk'ratan(in) the morningوَعَشِيًّاwaʿashiyyanand (in) the evening
  12. 12يَايَحْيَىyāyaḥyāO Yahya!خُذِkhudhiHoldالْكِتَابَl-kitābathe Scriptureبِقُوَّةٍbiquwwatinwith strengthوَءَاتَيْنَاهُwaātaynāhuAnd We gave himالْحُكْمَl-ḥuk'ma[the] wisdomصَبِيًّاṣabiyyan(when he was) a child
  13. 13وَحَنَانًاwaḥanānanAnd affectionمِنْminfromلَدُنَّاladunnāUsوَزَكَوةًwazakatanand purityوَكَانَwakānaand he wasتَقِيًّاtaqiyyanrighteous
  14. 14وَبَرًّاwabarranAnd dutifulبِوَالِدَيْهِbiwālidayhito his parentsوَلَمْwalamand notيَكُنْyakunhe wasجَبَّارًاjabbārana tyrantعَصِيًّاʿaṣiyyandisobedient
  15. 15وَسَلَامٌwasalāmunAnd peace beعَلَيْهِʿalayhiupon himيَوْمَyawma(the) dayوُلِدَwulidahe was bornوَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) dayيَمُوتُyamūtuhe diesوَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) dayيُبْعَثُyub'ʿathuhe will be raisedحَيًّاḥayyanalive
  16. 16وَاذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mentionفِيinالْكِتَابِl-kitābithe BookمَرْيَمَmaryamaMaryamإِذِidhiwhenانْتَبَذَتْintabadhatshe withdrewمِنْminfromأَهْلِهَاahlihāher familyمَكَانًاmakānan(to) a placeشَرْقِيًّاsharqiyyaneastern
  17. 17فَاتَّخَذَتْfa-ittakhadhatThen she tookمِنْminfrom themدُونِهِمْdūnihimfrom themحِجَابًاḥijābana screenفَأَرْسَلْنَاfa-arsalnāThen We sentإِلَيْهَاilayhāto herرُوحَنَاrūḥanāOur Spiritفَتَمَثَّلَfatamathalathen he assumed the likenessلَهَاlahāfor herبَشَرًاbasharan(of) a manسَوِيًّاsawiyyanwell-proportioned
  18. 18قَالَتْqālatShe saidإِنِّيinnīIndeed Iأَعُوذُaʿūdhu[I] seek refugeبِالرَّحْمَنِbil-raḥmāniwith the Most Graciousمِنْكَminkafrom youإِنْinifكُنْتَkuntayou areتَقِيًّاtaqiyyanGod fearing
  19. 19قَالَqālaHe saidإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyأَنَاanāI amرَسُولُrasūlua Messengerرَبِّكِrabbiki(from) your Lordلِأَهَبَli-ahabathat I (may) bestowلَكِlakion youغُلَامًاghulāmana sonزَكِيًّاzakiyyanpure
  20. 20قَالَتْqālatShe saidأَنَّىannāHowيَكُونُyakūnucan beلِيfor meغُلَامٌghulāmuna sonوَلَمْwalamwhen notيَمْسَسْنِيyamsasnīhas touched meبَشَرٌbasharuna manوَلَمْwalamand notأَكُakuI amبَغِيًّاbaghiyyanunchaste
  21. 21قَالَqālaHe saidكَذَلِكِkadhālikiThusقَالَqālasaidرَبُّكِrabbukiyour LordهُوَhuwaItعَلَيَّʿalayya(is) for Meهَيِّنٌhayyinuneasyوَلِنَجْعَلَهُwalinajʿalahuand so that We will make himءَايَةًāyatana signلِلنَّاسِlilnnāsifor the mankindوَرَحْمَةًwaraḥmatanand a Mercyمِنَّاminnāfrom UsوَكَانَwakānaAnd (it) isأَمْرًاamrana matterمَقْضِيًّاmaqḍiyyandecreed
  22. 22فَحَمَلَتْهُfaḥamalathuSo she conceived himفَانْتَبَذَتْfa-intabadhatand she withdrewبِهِbihiwith himمَكَانًاmakānan(to) a placeقَصِيًّاqaṣiyyanremote
  23. 23فَأَجَاءَهَاfa-ajāahāThen drove herالْمَخَاضُl-makhāḍuthe pains of childbirthإِلَىilātoجِذْعِjidh'ʿi(the) trunkالنَّخْلَةِl-nakhlati(of) the date-palmقَالَتْqālatShe saidيَالَيْتَنِيyālaytanīO! I wishمِتُّmittuI (had) diedقَبْلَqablabeforeهَذَاhādhāthisوَكُنْتُwakuntuand I wasنَسْيًاnasyan(in) oblivionمَنْسِيًّاmansiyyanforgotten
  24. 24فَنَادَاهَاfanādāhāSo cried to herمِنْminfromتَحْتِهَاtaḥtihābeneath herأَلَّاallāThat (do) notتَحْزَنِيtaḥzanīgrieveقَدْqadverilyجَعَلَjaʿala(has) placedرَبُّكِrabbukiyour Lordتَحْتَكِtaḥtakibeneath youسَرِيًّاsariyyana stream
  25. 25وَهُزِّيwahuzzīAnd shakeإِلَيْكِilaykitowards youبِجِذْعِbijidh'ʿi(the) trunkالنَّخْلَةِl-nakhlati(of) the date-palmتُسَاقِطْtusāqiṭit will dropعَلَيْكِʿalaykiupon youرُطَبًاruṭabanfresh datesجَنِيًّاjaniyyanripe
  26. 26فَكُلِيfakulīSo eatوَاشْرَبِيwa-ish'rabīand drinkوَقَرِّيwaqarrīand coolعَيْنًاʿaynan(your) eyesفَإِمَّاfa-immāAnd ifتَرَيِنَّtarayinnayou seeمِنَminafromالْبَشَرِl-basharihuman beingأَحَدًاaḥadananyoneفَقُولِيfaqūlīthen sayإِنِّيinnīIndeed Iنَذَرْتُnadhartu[I] have vowedلِلرَّحْمَنِlilrraḥmānito the Most Graciousصَوْمًاṣawmana fastفَلَنْfalanso notأُكَلِّمَukallimaI will speakالْيَوْمَl-yawmatodayإِنْسِيًّاinsiyyan(to any) human being
  27. 27فَأَتَتْfa-atatThen she cameبِهِbihiwith himقَوْمَهَاqawmahā(to) her peopleتَحْمِلُهُtaḥmiluhucarrying himقَالُواqālūThey saidيَامَرْيَمُyāmaryamuO MaryamلَقَدْlaqadCertainlyجِئْتِji'tiyou (have) broughtشَيْئًاshayanan amazing thingفَرِيًّاfariyyanan amazing thing
  28. 28يَاأُخْتَyāukh'taO sisterهَارُونَhārūna(of) HarunمَاNotكَانَkānawasأَبُوكِabūkiyour fatherامْرَأَim'ra-aan evil manسَوْءٍsawinan evil manوَمَاwamāand notكَانَتْkānatwasأُمُّكِummukiyour motherبَغِيًّاbaghiyyanunchaste
  29. 29فَأَشَارَتْfa-ashāratThen she pointedإِلَيْهِilayhito himقَالُواqālūThey saidكَيْفَkayfaHowنُكَلِّمُnukallimu(can) we speakمَنْman(to one) whoكَانَkānaisفِيinالْمَهْدِl-mahdithe cradleصَبِيًّاṣabiyyana child
  30. 30قَالَqālaHe saidإِنِّيinnīIndeed I amعَبْدُʿabdua slaveاللَّهِl-lahi(of) AllahءَاتَانِيَātāniyaHe gave meالْكِتَابَl-kitābathe Scriptureوَجَعَلَنِيwajaʿalanīand made meنَبِيًّاnabiyyana Prophet
  31. 31وَجَعَلَنِيwajaʿalanīAnd He (has) made meمُبَارَكًاmubārakanblessedأَيْنَaynawhereverمَاwhereverكُنْتُkuntuI amوَأَوْصَانِيwa-awṣānīand has enjoined (on) meبِالصَّلَوةِbil-ṣalati[of] the prayerوَالزَّكَوةِwal-zakatiand zakahمَاas long as I amدُمْتُdum'tuas long as I amحَيًّاḥayyanalive
  32. 32وَبَرًّاwabarranAnd dutifulبِوَالِدَتِيbiwālidatīto my motherوَلَمْwalamand notيَجْعَلْنِيyajʿalnīHe (has) made meجَبَّارًاjabbāraninsolentشَقِيًّاshaqiyyanunblessed
  33. 33وَالسَّلَامُwal-salāmuAnd peace (be)عَلَيَّʿalayyaon meيَوْمَyawma(the) dayوُلِدْتُwulidttuI was bornوَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) dayأَمُوتُamūtuI will dieوَيَوْمَwayawmaand (the) Dayأُبْعَثُub'ʿathuI will be raisedحَيًّاḥayyanalive
  34. 34ذَلِكَdhālikaThatعِيسَىʿīsā(was) Isaابْنُub'nu(the) sonمَرْيَمَmaryama(of) Maryamقَوْلَqawlaa statementالْحَقِّl-ḥaqi(of) truthالَّذِيalladhīthat whichفِيهِfīhiabout itيَمْتَرُونَyamtarūnathey dispute
  35. 35مَاNotكَانَkāna(it) isلِلَّهِlillahifor AllahأَنْanthatيَتَّخِذَyattakhidhaHe should takeمِنْminany sonوَلَدٍwaladinany sonسُبْحَانَهُsub'ḥānahuGlory be to HimإِذَاidhāWhenقَضَىqaḍāHe decreesأَمْرًاamrana matterفَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāthen onlyيَقُولُyaqūluHe saysلَهُlahuto itكُنْkunBeفَيَكُونُfayakūnuand it is
  36. 36وَإِنَّwa-innaAnd indeedاللَّهَl-lahaAllahرَبِّيrabbī(is) my Lordوَرَبُّكُمْwarabbukumand your Lordفَاعْبُدُوهُfa-uʿ'budūhuso worship HimهَذَاhādhāThisصِرَاطٌṣirāṭun(is) a pathمُسْتَقِيمٌmus'taqīmunstraight
  37. 37فَاخْتَلَفَfa-ikh'talafaBut differedالْأَحْزَابُl-aḥzābuthe sectsمِنْminfrom among themبَيْنِهِمْbaynihimfrom among themفَوَيْلٌfawaylunso woeلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelieveمِنْminfromمَشْهَدِmashhadi(the) witnessingيَوْمٍyawmin(of) a Dayعَظِيمٍʿaẓīmingreat
  38. 38أَسْمِعْasmiʿHow they will hearبِهِمْbihimHow they will hearوَأَبْصِرْwa-abṣirand how (they will) seeيَوْمَyawma(the) Dayيَأْتُونَنَاyatūnanāthey will come to Usلَكِنِlākinibutالظَّالِمُونَl-ẓālimūnathe wrongdoersالْيَوْمَl-yawmatodayفِي(are) inضَلَالٍḍalālinerrorمُبِينٍmubīninclear
  39. 39وَأَنْذِرْهُمْwa-andhir'humAnd warn themيَوْمَyawma(of the) Dayالْحَسْرَةِl-ḥasrati(of) the Regretإِذْidhwhenقُضِيَquḍiyahas been decidedالْأَمْرُl-amruthe matterوَهُمْwahumAnd theyفِي(are) inغَفْلَةٍghaflatinheedlessnessوَهُمْwahumand theyلَا(do) notيُؤْمِنُونَyu'minūnabelieve
  40. 40إِنَّاinnāIndeed Weنَحْنُnaḥnu[We]نَرِثُnarithu[We] will inheritالْأَرْضَl-arḍathe earthوَمَنْwamanand whoeverعَلَيْهَاʿalayhā(is) on itوَإِلَيْنَاwa-ilaynāand to Usيُرْجَعُونَyur'jaʿūnathey will be returned
  41. 41وَاذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mentionفِيinالْكِتَابِl-kitābithe Bookإِبْرَاهِيمَib'rāhīmaIbrahimإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heكَانَkānawasصِدِّيقًاṣiddīqana man of truthنَبِيًّاnabiyyana Prophet
  42. 42إِذْidhWhenقَالَqālahe saidلِأَبِيهِli-abīhito his fatherيَاأَبَتِyāabatiO my father!لِمَlimaWhyتَعْبُدُtaʿbudu(do) you worshipمَاthat whichلَاnotيَسْمَعُyasmaʿuhearsوَلَاwalāand notيُبْصِرُyub'ṣiruseesوَلَاwalāand notيُغْنِيyugh'nībenefitsعَنْكَʿanka[to] youشَيْئًاshayan(in) anything
  43. 43يَاأَبَتِyāabatiO my father!إِنِّيinnīIndeed [I]قَدْqadverilyجَاءَنِيjāanī(has) come to meمِنَminaofالْعِلْمِl-ʿil'mithe knowledgeمَاwhatلَمْlamnotيَأْتِكَyatikacame to youفَاتَّبِعْنِيfa-ittabiʿ'nīso follow meأَهْدِكَahdikaI will guide youصِرَاطًاṣirāṭan(to) the pathسَوِيًّاsawiyyaneven
  44. 44يَاأَبَتِyāabatiO my father!لَا(Do) notتَعْبُدِtaʿbudiworshipالشَّيْطَانَl-shayṭānathe ShaitaanإِنَّinnaIndeedالشَّيْطَانَl-shayṭānathe Shaitaanكَانَkānaisلِلرَّحْمَنِlilrraḥmānito the Most Graciousعَصِيًّاʿaṣiyyandisobedient
  45. 45يَاأَبَتِyāabatiO my father!إِنِّيinnīIndeed Iأَخَافُakhāfu[I] fearأَنْanthatيَمَسَّكَyamassakawill touch youعَذَابٌʿadhābuna punishmentمِنَminafromالرَّحْمَنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousفَتَكُونَfatakūnaso you would beلِلشَّيْطَانِlilshayṭānito the Shaitaanوَلِيًّاwaliyyana friend
  46. 46قَالَqālaHe saidأَرَاغِبٌarāghibunDo you hateأَنْتَantaDo you hateعَنْʿan(from)ءَالِهَتِيālihatīmy godsيَاإِبْرَاهِيمُyāib'rāhīmuO Ibrahimلَئِنْla-inSurely, ifلَمْlamnotتَنْتَهِtantahiyou desistلَأَرْجُمَنَّكَla-arjumannakasurely, I will stone youوَاهْجُرْنِيwa-uh'jur'nīso leave meمَلِيًّاmaliyyan(for) a prolonged time
  47. 47قَالَqālaHe saidسَلَامٌsalāmunPeace (be)عَلَيْكَʿalaykaon youسَأَسْتَغْفِرُsa-astaghfiruI will ask forgivenessلَكَlakafor youرَبِّيrabbī(from) my LordإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed Heكَانَkānaisبِيto meحَفِيًّاḥafiyyanEver Gracious
  48. 48وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْwa-aʿtazilukumAnd I will leave youوَمَاwamāand whatتَدْعُونَtadʿūnayou invokeمِنْminbesidesدُونِdūnibesidesاللَّهِl-lahiAllahوَأَدْعُواwa-adʿūand I will invokeرَبِّيrabbīmy LordعَسَىʿasāMay beأَلَّاallāthat notأَكُونَakūnaI will beبِدُعَاءِbiduʿāiin invocationرَبِّيrabbī(to) my Lordشَقِيًّاshaqiyyanunblessed
  49. 49فَلَمَّاfalammāSo whenاعْتَزَلَهُمْiʿ'tazalahumhe left themوَمَاwamāand whatيَعْبُدُونَyaʿbudūnathey worshippedمِنْminbesides Allahدُونِdūnibesides Allahاللَّهِl-lahibesides Allahوَهَبْنَاwahabnā[and] We bestowedلَهُlahu[to] himإِسْحَاقَis'ḥāqaIshaqوَيَعْقُوبَwayaʿqūbaand Yaqubوَكُلًّاwakullanand each (of them)جَعَلْنَاjaʿalnāWe madeنَبِيًّاnabiyyana Prophet
  50. 50وَوَهَبْنَاwawahabnāAnd We bestowedلَهُمْlahumto themمِنْminofرَحْمَتِنَاraḥmatināOur Mercyوَجَعَلْنَاwajaʿalnāand We madeلَهُمْlahumfor themلِسَانَlisānaa truthful mentionصِدْقٍṣid'qina truthful mentionعَلِيًّاʿaliyyanhigh
  51. 51وَاذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mentionفِيinالْكِتَابِl-kitābithe BookمُوسَىmūsāMusaإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heكَانَkānawasمُخْلَصًاmukh'laṣanchosenوَكَانَwakānaand wasرَسُولًاrasūlana Messengerنَبِيًّاnabiyyana Prophet
  52. 52وَنَادَيْنَاهُwanādaynāhuAnd We called himمِنْminfromجَانِبِjānibi(the) sideالطُّورِl-ṭūri(of) the Mountالْأَيْمَنِl-aymanithe rightوَقَرَّبْنَاهُwaqarrabnāhuand brought him nearنَجِيًّاnajiyyan(for) conversation
  53. 53وَوَهَبْنَاwawahabnāAnd We bestowedلَهُlahu[to] himمِنْminfromرَحْمَتِنَاraḥmatināOur Mercyأَخَاهُakhāhuhis brotherهَارُونَhārūnaHarunنَبِيًّاnabiyyana Prophet
  54. 54وَاذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mentionفِيinالْكِتَابِl-kitābithe Bookإِسْمَاعِيلَis'māʿīlaIsmailإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heكَانَkānawasصَادِقَṣādiqatrueالْوَعْدِl-waʿdi(to his) promiseوَكَانَwakānaand wasرَسُولًاrasūlana Messengerنَبِيًّاnabiyyana Prophet
  55. 55وَكَانَwakānaAnd he usedيَأْمُرُyamuru(to) enjoinأَهْلَهُahlahu(on) his peopleبِالصَّلَوةِbil-ṣalatithe prayerوَالزَّكَوةِwal-zakatiand zakahوَكَانَwakānaand wasعِنْدَʿindanearرَبِّهِrabbihihis Lordمَرْضِيًّاmarḍiyyanpleasing
  56. 56وَاذْكُرْwa-udh'kurAnd mentionفِيinالْكِتَابِl-kitābithe Bookإِدْرِيسَid'rīsaIdrisإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed heكَانَkānawasصِدِّيقًاṣiddīqantruthfulنَبِيًّاnabiyyana Prophet
  57. 57وَرَفَعْنَاهُwarafaʿnāhuAnd We raised himمَكَانًاmakānan(to) a positionعَلِيًّاʿaliyyanhigh
  58. 58أُولَئِكَulāikaThoseالَّذِينَalladhīna(were) the ones whomأَنْعَمَanʿamaAllah bestowed favorاللَّهُl-lahuAllah bestowed favorعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimupon themمِنَminafrom (among)النَّبِيِّينَl-nabiyīnathe Prophetsمِنْminofذُرِّيَّةِdhurriyyati(the) offspringءَادَمَādama(of) Adamوَمِمَّنْwamimmanand of thoseحَمَلْنَاḥamalnāWe carriedمَعَmaʿawithنُوحٍnūḥinNuhوَمِنْwaminand ofذُرِّيَّةِdhurriyyati(the) offspringإِبْرَاهِيمَib'rāhīma(of) Ibrahimوَإِسْرَاءِيلَwa-is'rāīlaand Israelوَمِمَّنْwamimmanand of (those) whomهَدَيْنَاhadaynāWe guidedوَاجْتَبَيْنَاwa-ij'tabaynāand We choseإِذَاidhāWhenتُتْلَىtut'lāwere recitedعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themءَايَاتُāyātu(the) Versesالرَّحْمَنِl-raḥmāni(of) the Most Graciousخَرُّواkharrūthey fellسُجَّدًاsujjadanprostratingوَبُكِيًّاwabukiyyanand weeping
  59. 59فَخَلَفَfakhalafaThen succeededمِنْminafter themبَعْدِهِمْbaʿdihimafter themخَلْفٌkhalfunsuccessorsأَضَاعُواaḍāʿūwho neglectedالصَّلَوةَl-ṣalatathe prayerوَاتَّبَعُواwa-ittabaʿūand they followedالشَّهَوَاتِl-shahawātithe lustsفَسَوْفَfasawfaso soonيَلْقَوْنَyalqawnathey will meetغَيًّاghayyanevil
  60. 60إِلَّاillāExceptمَنْman(one) whoتَابَtābarepentedوَءَامَنَwaāmanaand believedوَعَمِلَwaʿamilaand didصَالِحًاṣāliḥangood (deeds)فَأُولَئِكَfa-ulāikaThen thoseيَدْخُلُونَyadkhulūnawill enterالْجَنَّةَl-janataParadiseوَلَاwalāand notيُظْلَمُونَyuẓ'lamūnathey will be wrongedشَيْئًاshayan(in) anything
  61. 61جَنَّاتِjannātiGardensعَدْنٍʿadnin(of) Edenالَّتِيallatīwhichوَعَدَwaʿadapromisedالرَّحْمَنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Graciousعِبَادَهُʿibādahu(to) His slavesبِالْغَيْبِbil-ghaybiin the unseenإِنَّهُinnahuIndeed [it]كَانَkānaisوَعْدُهُwaʿduhuHis promiseمَأْتِيًّاmatiyyansure to come
  62. 62لَاNotيَسْمَعُونَyasmaʿūnathey will hearفِيهَاfīhāthereinلَغْوًاlaghwanvain talkإِلَّاillābutسَلَامًاsalāmanpeaceوَلَهُمْwalahumAnd for themرِزْقُهُمْriz'quhum(is) their provisionفِيهَاfīhāthereinبُكْرَةًbuk'ratanmorningوَعَشِيًّاwaʿashiyyanand evening
  63. 63تِلْكَtil'kaThisالْجَنَّةُl-janatu(is) ParadiseالَّتِيallatīwhichنُورِثُnūrithuWe give (as) inheritanceمِنْmin[of] (to)عِبَادِنَاʿibādināOur slavesمَنْman(the one) whoكَانَkānaisتَقِيًّاtaqiyyanrighteous
  64. 64وَمَاwamāAnd notنَتَنَزَّلُnatanazzaluwe descendإِلَّاillāexceptبِأَمْرِbi-amriby (the) Commandرَبِّكَrabbika(of) your LordلَهُlahuTo Him (belongs)مَاwhatبَيْنَbayna(is) before usأَيْدِينَاaydīnā(is) before usوَمَاwamāand whatخَلْفَنَاkhalfanā(is) behind usوَمَاwamāand whatبَيْنَbayna(is) betweenذَلِكَdhālikathatوَمَاwamāAnd notكَانَkānaisرَبُّكَrabbukayour Lordنَسِيًّاnasiyyanforgetful
  65. 65رَبُّrabbuLordالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwāti(of) the heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthوَمَاwamāand whateverبَيْنَهُمَاbaynahumā(is) between both of themفَاعْبُدْهُfa-uʿ'bud'huso worship Himوَاصْطَبِرْwa-iṣ'ṭabirand be constantلِعِبَادَتِهِliʿibādatihiin His worshipهَلْhalDoتَعْلَمُtaʿlamuyou knowلَهُlahufor Himسَمِيًّاsamiyyanany similarity
  66. 66وَيَقُولُwayaqūluAnd saysالْإِنْسَانُl-insānu[the] manأَءِذَاa-idhāWhat! WhenمَاWhat! WhenمِتُّmittuI am deadلَسَوْفَlasawfasurely willأُخْرَجُukh'rajuI be brought forthحَيًّاḥayyanalive
  67. 67أَوَلَاawalāDoes notيَذْكُرُyadhkururememberالْإِنْسَانُl-insānu[the] manأَنَّاannāthat WeخَلَقْنَاهُkhalaqnāhuWe created himمِنْminbeforeقَبْلُqablubeforeوَلَمْwalamwhile notيَكُyakuhe wasشَيْئًاshayananything
  68. 68فَوَرَبِّكَfawarabbikaSo by your Lordلَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْlanaḥshurannahumsurely We will gather themوَالشَّيَاطِينَwal-shayāṭīnaand the devilsثُمَّthummathenلَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْlanuḥ'ḍirannahumsurely We will bring themحَوْلَḥawlaaroundجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellجِثِيًّاjithiyyanbent (on) knees
  69. 69ثُمَّthummaThenلَنَنْزِعَنَّlananziʿannasurely We will drag outمِنْminfromكُلِّkullieveryشِيعَةٍshīʿatinsectأَيُّهُمْayyuhumthose of themأَشَدُّashaddu(who were) worstعَلَىʿalāagainstالرَّحْمَنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousعِتِيًّاʿitiyyan(in) rebellion
  70. 70ثُمَّthummaThenلَنَحْنُlanaḥnusurely Weأَعْلَمُaʿlamuknow bestبِالَّذِينَbi-alladhīna[of] those whoهُمْhum[they]أَوْلَىawlā(are) most worthyبِهَاbihāthereinصِلِيًّاṣiliyyan(of) being burnt
  71. 71وَإِنْwa-inAnd (there is) notمِنْكُمْminkum(any) of youإِلَّاillābutوَارِدُهَاwāriduhā(will be) passing over itكَانَkāna(This) isعَلَىʿalāuponرَبِّكَrabbikayour Lordحَتْمًاḥatmanan inevitabilityمَقْضِيًّاmaqḍiyyandecreed
  72. 72ثُمَّthummaThenنُنَجِّيnunajjīWe will deliverالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoاتَّقَوْاittaqawfeared (Allah)وَنَذَرُwanadharuand We will leaveالظَّالِمِينَl-ẓālimīnathe wrongdoersفِيهَاfīhāthereinجِثِيًّاjithiyyanbent (on) knees
  73. 73وَإِذَاwa-idhāAnd whenتُتْلَىtut'lāare recitedعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimto themءَايَاتُنَاāyātunāOur Versesبَيِّنَاتٍbayyinātinclearقَالَqālasayالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoكَفَرُواkafarūdisbelievedلِلَّذِينَlilladhīnato those whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelievedأَيُّayyuWhichالْفَرِيقَيْنِl-farīqayni(of) the two groupsخَيْرٌkhayrun(is) betterمَقَامًاmaqāman(in) positionوَأَحْسَنُwa-aḥsanuand bestنَدِيًّاnadiyyan(in) assembly
  74. 74وَكَمْwakamAnd how manyأَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe destroyedقَبْلَهُمْqablahumbefore themمِنْminofقَرْنٍqarnina generationهُمْhumtheyأَحْسَنُaḥsanu(were) betterأَثَاثًاathāthan(in) possessionsوَرِءْيًاwari'yanand appearance
  75. 75قُلْqulSayمَنْmanWhoeverكَانَkānaisفِيinالضَّلَالَةِl-ḍalālati[the] errorفَلْيَمْدُدْfalyamdudthen surely will extendلَهُlahufor himالرَّحْمَنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Graciousمَدًّاmaddanan extensionحَتَّىḥattāuntilإِذَاidhāwhenرَأَوْاra-awthey seeمَاwhatيُوعَدُونَyūʿadūnathey were promisedإِمَّاimmāeitherالْعَذَابَl-ʿadhābathe punishmentوَإِمَّاwa-immāorالسَّاعَةَl-sāʿatathe Hourفَسَيَعْلَمُونَfasayaʿlamūnathen they will knowمَنْmanwhoهُوَhuwa[he]شَرٌّsharrun(is) worstمَكَانًاmakānan(in) positionوَأَضْعَفُwa-aḍʿafuand weakerجُنْدًاjundan(in) forces
  76. 76وَيَزِيدُwayazīduAnd Allah increasesاللَّهُl-lahuAnd Allah increasesالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoاهْتَدَوْاih'tadawaccept guidanceهُدًىhudan(in) guidanceوَالْبَاقِيَاتُwal-bāqiyātuAnd the everlastingالصَّالِحَاتُl-ṣāliḥātugood deedsخَيْرٌkhayrun(are) betterعِنْدَʿindanearرَبِّكَrabbikayour Lordثَوَابًاthawāban(for) rewardوَخَيْرٌwakhayrunand betterمَرَدًّاmaraddan(for) return
  77. 77أَفَرَءَيْتَafara-aytaThen have you seenالَّذِيalladhīhe whoكَفَرَkafaradisbelievedبِءَايَاتِنَاbiāyātināin Our Versesوَقَالَwaqālaand saidلَأُوتَيَنَّlaūtayannaSurely I will be givenمَالًاmālanwealthوَوَلَدًاwawaladanand children
  78. 78أَطَّلَعَaṭṭalaʿaHas he lookedالْغَيْبَl-ghayba(into) the unseenأَمِamiorاتَّخَذَittakhadhahas he takenعِنْدَʿindafromالرَّحْمَنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousعَهْدًاʿahdana promise
  79. 79كَلَّاkallāNayسَنَكْتُبُsanaktubuWe will recordمَاwhatيَقُولُyaqūluhe saysوَنَمُدُّwanamudduand We will extendلَهُlahufor himمِنَminafromالْعَذَابِl-ʿadhābithe punishmentمَدًّاmaddanextensively
  80. 80وَنَرِثُهُwanarithuhuAnd We will inherit (from) himمَاwhatيَقُولُyaqūluhe saysوَيَأْتِينَاwayatīnāand he will come to Usفَرْدًاfardanalone
  81. 81وَاتَّخَذُواwa-ittakhadhūAnd they have takenمِنْminbesides Allahدُونِdūnibesides Allahاللَّهِl-lahibesides Allahءَالِهَةًālihatangodsلِيَكُونُواliyakūnūthat they may beلَهُمْlahumfor themعِزًّاʿizzanan honor
  82. 82كَلَّاkallāNayسَيَكْفُرُونَsayakfurūnathey will denyبِعِبَادَتِهِمْbiʿibādatihimtheir worship (of them)وَيَكُونُونَwayakūnūnaand they will beعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimagainst themضِدًّاḍiddanopponents
  83. 83أَلَمْalamDo notتَرَtarayou seeأَنَّاannāthat Weأَرْسَلْنَاarsalnā[We] have sentالشَّيَاطِينَl-shayāṭīnathe devilsعَلَىʿalāuponالْكَافِرِينَl-kāfirīnathe disbelieversتَؤُزُّهُمْta-uzzuhuminciting themأَزًّاazzan(with) incitement
  84. 84فَلَاfalāSo (do) notتَعْجَلْtaʿjalmake hasteعَلَيْهِمْʿalayhimagainst themإِنَّمَاinnamāOnlyنَعُدُّnaʿudduWe countلَهُمْlahumfor themعَدًّاʿaddana number
  85. 85يَوْمَyawma(The) DayنَحْشُرُnaḥshuruWe will gatherالْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīnathe righteousإِلَىilātoالرَّحْمَنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousوَفْدًاwafdan(as) a delegation
  86. 86وَنَسُوقُwanasūquAnd We will driveالْمُجْرِمِينَl-muj'rimīnathe criminalsإِلَىilātoجَهَنَّمَjahannamaHellوِرْدًاwir'danthirsty
  87. 87لَاNotيَمْلِكُونَyamlikūnathey will have the powerالشَّفَاعَةَl-shafāʿata(of) the intercessionإِلَّاillāexceptمَنِmani(he) whoاتَّخَذَittakhadhahas takenعِنْدَʿindafromالرَّحْمَنِl-raḥmānithe Most Graciousعَهْدًاʿahdana covenant
  88. 88وَقَالُواwaqālūAnd they sayاتَّخَذَittakhadhaHas takenالرَّحْمَنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Graciousوَلَدًاwaladana son
  89. 89لَقَدْlaqadVerilyجِئْتُمْji'tumyou have put forthشَيْئًاshayana thingإِدًّاiddanatrocious
  90. 90تَكَادُtakāduAlmostالسَّمَاوَاتُl-samāwātuthe heavensيَتَفَطَّرْنَyatafaṭṭarnaget tornمِنْهُmin'hutherefromوَتَنْشَقُّwatanshaqquand splits asunderالْأَرْضُl-arḍuthe earthوَتَخِرُّwatakhirruand collapseالْجِبَالُl-jibāluthe mountainهَدًّاhaddan(in) devastation
  91. 91أَنْanThatدَعَوْاdaʿawthey invokeلِلرَّحْمَنِlilrraḥmānito the Most Graciousوَلَدًاwaladana son
  92. 92وَمَاwamāAnd notيَنْبَغِيyanbaghīis appropriateلِلرَّحْمَنِlilrraḥmānifor the Most GraciousأَنْanthatيَتَّخِذَyattakhidhaHe should takeوَلَدًاwaladana son
  93. 93إِنْinNotكُلُّkulluallمَنْmanwhoفِي(are) inالسَّمَاوَاتِl-samāwātithe heavensوَالْأَرْضِwal-arḍiand the earthإِلَّاillābutءَاتِيātī(will) comeالرَّحْمَنِl-raḥmāni(to) the Most Graciousعَبْدًاʿabdan(as) a slave
  94. 94لَقَدْlaqadVerilyأَحْصَاهُمْaḥṣāhumHe has enumerated themوَعَدَّهُمْwaʿaddahumand counted themعَدًّاʿaddana counting
  95. 95وَكُلُّهُمْwakulluhumAnd all of themءَاتِيهِātīhi(will) come (to) Himيَوْمَyawma(on the) Dayالْقِيَامَةِl-qiyāmati(of) the Resurrectionفَرْدًاfardanalone
  96. 96إِنَّinnaIndeedالَّذِينَalladhīnathose whoءَامَنُواāmanūbelievedوَعَمِلُواwaʿamilūand didالصَّالِحَاتِl-ṣāliḥātigood deedsسَيَجْعَلُsayajʿaluwill bestowلَهُمُlahumufor themالرَّحْمَنُl-raḥmānuthe Most Graciousوُدًّاwuddanaffection
  97. 97فَإِنَّمَاfa-innamāSo onlyيَسَّرْنَاهُyassarnāhuWe (have) made it easyبِلِسَانِكَbilisānikain your tongueلِتُبَشِّرَlitubashirathat you may give glad tidingsبِهِbihiwith itالْمُتَّقِينَl-mutaqīna(to) the righteousوَتُنْذِرَwatundhiraand warnبِهِbihiwith itقَوْمًاqawmana peopleلُدًّاluddanhostile
  98. 98وَكَمْwakamAnd how manyأَهْلَكْنَاahlaknāWe (have) destroyedقَبْلَهُمْqablahumbefore themمِنْminofقَرْنٍqarnina generationهَلْhalCanتُحِسُّtuḥissuyou perceiveمِنْهُمْmin'humof themمِنْminanyأَحَدٍaḥadinoneأَوْaworتَسْمَعُtasmaʿuhearلَهُمْlahumfrom themرِكْزًاrik'zana sound
