2. 2ἔλεοςeleosMercyὑμῖνhuminto youκαὶkaiandεἰρήνηeirēnēpeaceκαὶkaiandἀγάπηagapēloveπληθυνθείη.¶plēthuntheiēwould be multiplied.
3. 3Ἀγαπητοί,AgapētoiBeloved,πᾶσανpasanallσπουδὴνspoudēndiligenceποιούμενοςpoioumenosusingγράφεινgrapheinto writeὑμῖνhuminto youπερὶpericoncerningτῆςtēs<the>κοινῆςkoinēssharedἡμῶνhēmōnof usσωτηρίας,sōtēriassalvation,ἀνάγκηνanagkēnnecessityἔσχονeschonI hadγράψαιgrapsaito writeὑμῖνhuminto youπαρακαλῶνparakalōnexhorting [you]ἐπαγωνίζεσθαιepagōnizesthaito contend earnestlyτῇtēafor theἅπαξhapaxonce for allπαραδοθείσῃparadotheisēhaving been deliveredτοῖςtoisto theἁγίοιςhagioissaintsπίστει.pisteifaith.
4. 4παρεισέδυσανpareisedusanCame in stealthilyγάρgarforτινεςtinescertainἄνθρωποι,anthrōpoimen,οἱhoithoseπάλαιpalailong agoπρογεγραμμένοιprogegrammenoidesignatedεἰςeisuntoτοῦτοtoutothisτὸto<the>κρίμα,krimacondemnation,ἀσεβεῖς,asebeisungodly [ones],τὴνtēntheτοῦtouof theθεοῦtheouGodἡμῶνhēmōnof usχάριταcharitagraceμετατιθέντεςmetatithenteschangingεἰςeisintoἀσέλγειανaselgeiansensualityκαὶkaiandτὸνtontheμόνονmonononlyδεσπότηνdespotēnmasterθεόνtheonGodκαὶkaiandκύριονkurionLordἡμῶνhēmōnof usἸησοῦνIēsounJesusΧριστὸνChristonChristἀρνούμενοι.¶arnoumenoidenying.
5. 5ὙπομνῆσαιHupomnēsaiTo remindδὲdenowὑμᾶςhumasyouβούλομαι,boulomaiI want,εἰδόταςeidotasknowingὑμᾶςhumasyouὅτιhotithatὁho<the>ἅπαξhapaxonceλαὸνlaona peopleἐκekout ofγῆςgēs[the] landΑἰγύπτουAiguptouof Egyptσώσαςsōsashaving savedτὸto<the>δεύτερονdeuteronafterwardτοὺςtousthoseμὴmēnotπιστεύσανταςpisteusantashaving believedἀπώλεσεν.apōlesenHe destroyed.
6. 6ἀγγέλουςangelous[The] angelsτεtebothτοὺςtous<the>μὴmēnotτηρήσανταςtērēsantashaving keptτὴνtēn<the>ἑαυτῶνhe'autōntheir ownἀρχὴνarchēndomainἀλλ᾽all᾽butἀπολιπόνταςapolipontashaving leftτὸto<the>ἴδιονidion[their] ownοἰκητήριον,oikētēriondwelling,εἰςeisuntoκρίσινkrisin[the] judgmentμεγάληςmegalēsof [the] greatἡμέραςhēmerasdayδεσμοῖςdesmoisin chainsἀϊδίοιςaidioiseternalὑπὸhupounderζόφονzophondarknessτετήρηκεν·tetērēkenHe has kept;
7. 7ὡςhōsjust asΣόδομαSodomaSodomκαὶkaiandΓόμορραGomorraGomorrahκαὶkaiandαἱhaitheπερὶperiaroundαὐτὰςautasthemπόλειςpoleiscitiesτὸνton<the>ὅμοιονhomoionin likeτρόπονtroponmannerτούτοιςtoutoiswith themἐκπορνεύσασαιekporneusasaihaving indulged in sexual immoralityκαὶkaiandἀπελθοῦσαιapelthousaihaving goneὀπίσωopisōafterσαρκὸςsarkosfleshἑτέρας,heterasstrange,πρόκεινταιprokeintaiare set forth asδεῖγμαdeigmaan exampleπυρὸςpurosof fireαἰωνίουaiōnioueternalδίκηνdikēn[the] penaltyὑπέχουσαι.hupechousaiundergoing.
8. 8ὁμοίωςhomoiōsLikewiseμέντοιmentoiyetκαὶkaialsoοὗτοιhoutoitheseἐνυπνιαζόμενοιenupniazomenoidreaming [ones]σάρκαsarka[the] fleshμὲνmenindeedμιαίνουσιν,miainousindefile,κυριότηταkuriotētaauthorityδὲdehoweverἀθετοῦσιν,athetousinthey set aside,δόξαςdoxasglorious [ones]δὲdehoweverβλασφημοῦσιν.blasphēmousinthey blaspheme.
9. 9ὁho<the>δὲdeButΜιχαὴλMichaēlMichaelὁhotheἀρχάγγελος,archangelosarchangel,ὅτεhotewhenτῷtōwith theδιαβόλῳdiabolōdevilδιακρινόμενοςdiakrinomenosdisputingδιελέγετοdielegetohe was reasoningπερὶperiaboutτοῦtou<the>ΜωϋσέωςMōuseōsMoses’σώματος,sōmatosbody,οὐκouknotἐτόλμησενetolmēsendid dareκρίσινkrisina judgmentἐπενεγκεῖνepenegkeinto bring against [him]βλασφημίαςblasphēmiasblasphemyἀλλ᾽all᾽butεἶπεν·eipensaid;ἐπιτιμήσαιepitimēsaiWould [that] he rebukeσοιsoiyouκύριος.kurios[the] Lord.
10. 10οὗτοιhoutoiTheseδὲdehoweverὅσαhosaas much asμὲνmenindeedοὐκouknotοἴδασινoidasinthey understoodβλασφημοῦσιν·blasphēmousinthey denigrate;ὅσαhosaas much asδὲdehoweverφυσικῶςphusikōsnaturallyὡςhōsasτὰtatheἄλογαalogairrationalζῷαzōaanimalsἐπίστανται,epistantaithey understand,ἐνeninτούτοιςtoutoisthese thingsφθείρονται.phtheirontaithey corrupt themselves.
11. 11οὐαὶouaiWoeαὐτοῖς,autoisto them,ὅτιhotibecauseτῇtēain theὁδῷhodōwayτοῦtou<the>ΚάϊνKainof Cainἐπορεύθησανeporeuthēsanthey wentκαὶkaiandτῇtēato theπλάνῃplanēerrorτοῦtou<the>ΒαλαὰμBalaamof Balaamμισθοῦmisthoufor rewardἐξεχύθησανexechuthēsanthey rushedκαὶkaiandτῇtēain theἀντιλογίᾳantilogiarebellionτοῦtou<the>ΚόρεKoreof Korahἀπώλοντο.¶apōlontothey perished.
12. 12ΟὗτοίHoutoiTheseεἰσινeisinareοἱhoithe onesἐνeninταῖςtaistheἀγάπαιςagapaislove feastsὑμῶνhumōnof youσπιλάδες,spiladeshidden reefs,συνευωχούμενοι,suneuōchoumenoifeasting together [with you]ἀφόβωςaphobōsfearlesslyἑαυτοὺςhe'autousthemselvesποιμαίνοντες·poimainontesshepherding;νεφέλαιnephelaicloudsἄνυδροι,anudroiwithout water,ὑπὸhupobyἀνέμωνanemōnwindsδένδραdendratreesφθινοπωρινὰphthinopōrinaautumnalἄκαρπα,akarpawithout fruit,δὶςdistwiceἀποθανόντα,apothanontahaving died,ἐκριζωθέντα·ekrizōthentahaving been uprooted;
13. 13κύματαkumatawavesἄγριαagriawildθαλάσσηςthalassēsof [the] seaἐπαφρίζονταepaphrizontafoaming outτὰςtas<the>ἑαυτῶνhe'autōntheir ownαἰσχύνας,aischunasshame,ἀστέρεςasteresstarsπλανῆταιplanētaiwanderingοἷςhoisto whomὁhotheζόφοςzophosgloomτοῦtou<the>σκότουςskotousof darknessεἰςeistoτὸνtontheαἰῶναaiōnaageτετήρηται.tetērētaihas been reserved.
14. 14προεφήτευσενproephēteusenHe prophesiedδὲdethenκαὶkaialsoτούτοιςtoutoisto theseἕβδομοςhebdomos[the] seventhἀπὸapofromἈδὰμAdamAdamἙνὼχHenōchEnochλέγων·legōnsaying:ἰδοὺidouBeholdἦλθενēlthenhas comeκύριοςkurios[the] Lordἐνenamidstἁγίαιςhagiaisholy [ones]μυριάσινmuriasinmyriadsαὐτοῦautouof His
15. 15ποιῆσαιpoiēsaito carry outκρίσινkrisinjudgmentκατὰkataagainstπάντωνpantōnallκαὶkaiandτοὺςtous<the>αὐτῶνautōnof themπερὶpericoncerningπάντωνpantōnallτῶνtōntheἔργωνergōnworksἀσεβείαςasebeiasof ungodlinessαὐτῶνautōnof themὧνhōnin whichἠσέβησαν,ēsebēsanthey have been ungodly,καὶkaiandπερὶpericoncerningπάντωνpantōnallτῶνtōntheσκληρῶνsklērōnharsh [things]ὧνhōnthatἐλάλησανelalēsanspokeκατ᾽kat᾽againstαὐτοῦautouHimἁμαρτωλοὶhamartōloisinnersἀσεβεῖς.asebeisungodly.
16. 16οὗτοίhoutoiTheseεἰσινeisinareγογγυσταὶgongustaigrumblersμεμψίμοιροι,mempsimoiroidiscontented,κατὰkataafterτὰςtastheἐπιθυμίαςepithumiaslustsπορευόμενοι,poreuomenoifollowing,καὶkaiandτὸtotheστόμαstomamouthαὐτῶνautōnof themλαλεῖlaleispeaksὑπέρογκα,huperogkagreat swelling [words],θαυμάζοντεςthaumazontesflatteringπρόσωπαprosōpafacesὠφελείαςōpheleiasof profitχάριν.¶charinbecause.
17. 17ὙμεῖςHumeisYou yourselvesδὲdehoweverἀγαπητοί,agapētoibeloved,μνήσθητεmnēsthētedo rememberτῶνtōntheῥημάτωνrhēmatōndeclarationsτῶνtōnwhichπροειρημένωνproeirēmenōnspoken beforehandὑπὸhupobyτῶνtōntheἀποστόλωνapostolōnapostlesτοῦtouof theκυρίουkuriouLordἡμῶνhēmōnof usἸησοῦIēsouJesusΧριστοῦ,ChristouChrist,
18. 18ὅτιhotiforἔλεγονelegonthey were sayingὑμῖνhuminto youὅτιhotithatτοῦtou<the>ἔσονταιesontaithere will beἐμπαῖκταιempaiktaiscoffersκατὰkataafterτὰςtas<the>ἑαυτῶνhe'autōntheir ownἐπιθυμίαςepithumiaspassionsπορευόμενοιporeuomenoifollowingτῶνtōn<the>ἀσεβειῶν.asebeiōnof ungodlinesses.
19. 19οὗτοίhoutoiTheseεἰσινeisinareοἱhoithoseἀποδιορίζοντες,apodiorizontescausing divisions,ψυχικοί,psuchikoiworldly-minded,πνεῦμαpneuma[the] Spiritμὴmēnotἔχοντες.echonteshaving.
20. 20ὑμεῖςhumeisyou yourselvesδέ,dehowever,ἀγαπητοί,agapētoibeloved,ἐποικοδομοῦντεςepoikodomountesbuilding upἑαυτοὺςhe'autousyourselvesτῇtēain theἁγιωτάτῃhagiōtatēmost holyὑμῶνhumōnof youπίστει,pisteifaithἐνeninπνεύματιpneumati[the] SpiritἁγίῳhagiōHolyπροσευχόμενοι,proseuchomenoipraying,
21. 21ἑαυτοὺςhe'autousyourselvesἐνeninἀγάπῃagapē[the] loveθεοῦtheouof Godτηρήσατε,tērēsatedo keep,προσδεχόμενοιprosdechomenoiawaitingτὸtotheἔλεοςeleosmercyτοῦtouof theκυρίουkuriouLordἡμῶνhēmōnof usἸησοῦIēsouJesusΧριστοῦChristouChristεἰςeisuntoζωὴνzōēnlifeαἰώνιον.aiōnioneternal.
22. 22καὶkaiAndοὓςhousthose whoμὲνmenindeed
23. 23οὓςhousothersδὲdehoweverσῴζετεsōzetedo saveἐκekfromτοῦtoutheπυρὸςpurosfireἁρπάζοντες,harpazontessnatching ,οὓςhousto othersδὲdethenἐλεᾶτεeleatedo show mercyἐνenwithφόβῳ,phobōfear,μισοῦντεςmisounteshatingκαὶkaievenτὸνtontheἀπὸapobyτῆςtēstheσαρκὸςsarkosfleshἐσπιλωμένονespilōmenonstainedχιτῶνα.¶chitōnaclothing.
24. 24ΤῷTōTo Himδὲdenowδυναμένῳdunamenōbeing ableφυλάξαιphulaxaito keepἀπταίστουςaptaistousfrom stumblingκαὶkaiandστῆσαιstēsaito present [you]κατενώπιονkatenōpionin the presence ofτῆςtēstheδόξηςdoxēsgloryαὐτοῦautouof Himἀμώμουςamōmousblamelessἐνenwithἀγαλλιάσει,agalliaseiexultation —
25. 25μόνῳmonōto [the] onlyσοφῷsophōwiseθεῷtheōGodσωτῆριsōtēriSaviorἡμῶν,hēmōnof us,διὰdiathroughἸησοῦIēsouJesusΧριστοῦChristouChristτοῦtoutheκυρίουkuriouLordἡμῶν,hēmōnof us,δόξαdoxa[be] gloryκαὶkaiandμεγαλωσύνηmegalōsunēmajestyκράτοςkratosdominionκαὶkaiandἐξουσίαexousiaauthorityπρὸprobeforeπαντὸςpantosallτοῦtoutheαἰῶνοςaiōnosageκαὶkaiandνῦνnunnowκαὶkaiandεἰςeistoπάνταςpantasallτοὺςtoustheαἰῶνας,aiōnasages,ἀμήν.¶amēnAmen.
